⁷ And Abraham ran to the herd, and fetched a tender and good calf, and gave it to a young man; and he hastened to dress it.

³ And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in to him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

¹⁵ And Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, "I implore you, let us detain you, until we shall have made ready a kid goat for you." ¹⁶ And the angel of the LORD said to Manoah, "Though you detain me, I will not eat of your bread: And if you will offer a burnt offering, you must offer it to the LORD." For Manoah did not know that he was an angel of the LORD.

⁴ that lie on beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;

¹⁴ "But cursed be the deceiver, which has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to the Lord a corrupt thing: For I am a great King", says the LORD of hosts, "and My name is frightening among the heathen."

⁴ Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: Come to the marriage." '

²³ And bring here the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

²⁷ And he said to him, 'Your brother has come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound.'

³⁰ But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your estate with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.'
