¹ And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: And the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things. ² And Abraham said to his oldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, "Put, I implore you, your hand under my thigh: ³ And I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that you shall not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: ⁴ But you shall go to my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife to my son Isaac." ⁵ And the servant said to him, "Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land: Must I necessarily bring your son again to the land from where you came?" ⁶ And Abraham said to him, "Beware that you do not bring my son to that place again. ⁷ The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spoke to me, and that swore to me, saying, 'To your seed I will give this land'; he shall send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife to my son from there. ⁸ And if the woman will not be willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this my oath: Only do not bring my son to that place again." ⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning that matter. ¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: And he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor. ¹¹ And he made his camels to kneel down outside the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water. ¹² And he said, "O LORD God of my master Abraham, I implore you, send me good speed this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham. ¹³ Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: ¹⁴ And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, 'Let down your pitcher, I implore you, that I may drink'; and she shall say, 'Drink, and I will give your camels drink also': Let the same be her that You have appointed for Your servant Isaac; and by that I shall know You have showed kindness to my master." ¹⁵ And it came to pass, before he had finished speaking, that behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. ¹⁶ And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: And she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up. ¹⁷ And the servant ran to meet her, and said, "Let me, I implore you, drink a little water of your pitcher." ¹⁸ And she said, "Drink, my lord": And she hastened, and let down her pitcher into her hand, and gave him drink. ¹⁹ And when she had finished giving him drink, she said, "I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking." ²⁰ And she hastened, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again to the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels. ²¹ And the man feeling wonder about her held his peace, to know whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not. ²² And it came to pass, as the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold; ²³ and said, "Whose daughter are you? Tell me, I implore you: Is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?" ²⁴ And she said to him, "I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bore to Nahor." ²⁵ She said moreover to him, "We have both straw and enough dry meal, and room to lodge in." ²⁶ And the man bowed down his head, and worshiped the LORD. ²⁷ And he said, "Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, Who has not left destitute my master of His mercy and His truth: I being in the pathway, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brothers." ²⁸ And the damsel ran, and told these things to those of her mother' house. ²⁹ And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: And Laban ran out to the man, to the well. ³⁰ And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, "Thus spoke the man to me; that he came to the man; and behold, he stood by the camels at the well. ³¹ And he said, "Come in, you blessed of the LORD; why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and room for the camels." ³² And the man came into the house: And he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and dry meal for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him. ³³ And there was set food before him to eat: But he said, "I will not eat, until I have told my errand." And he said, "Speak on." ³⁴ And he said, "I am Abraham's servant. ³⁵ And the LORD has blessed my master greatly; and he has become great: And he has given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and donkeys. ³⁶ And my master's wife Sarah bore a son to my master when she was old: And he has given all that he has to him. ³⁷ And my master made me swear, saying, 'You shall not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell: ³⁸ But you shall go to my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife to my son.' ³⁹ And I said to my master, 'Peradventure the woman will not follow me.' ⁴⁰ And he said to me, 'The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way; and you shall take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house: ⁴¹ Then you shall be free from my oath, when you come to my kindred; and if they do not give you one, you shall be free from my oath.' ⁴² And I came this day to the well, and said, 'O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now You prosper my way in which I go: ⁴³ Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin comes forth to draw water, and I say to her, "Give me, I implore you, a little water from your pitcher to drink"; ⁴⁴ and she says to me, "Both you drink, and I will also draw for your camels": Let the same be the woman whom the LORD has appointed for my master's son.' ⁴⁵ And before I had finished speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down to the well, and drew water: And I said to her, 'Let me drink, I implore you.' ⁴⁶ And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, 'Drink, and I will give your camels drink also: So I drank, and she made the camels drink also. ⁴⁷ And I asked her, and said, 'Whose daughter are you?' And she said, 'The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore to him': And I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands. ⁴⁸ And I bowed down my head, and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter to his son. ⁴⁹ And now if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: And if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left." ⁵⁰ Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, "The thing proceeds from the LORD: We cannot speak to you bad or good. ⁵¹ Behold, Rebekah is before you, take her, and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as the LORD has spoken." ⁵² And it came to pass, that when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshiped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth. ⁵³ And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing, and gave them to Rebekah: He also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother. ⁵⁴ And they ate and drank, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, "Send me away to my master." ⁵⁵ And her brother and her mother said, "Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at least ten; after that she shall go." ⁵⁶ And he said to them, "Do not hinder me, seeing the LORD has prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master." ⁵⁷ And they said, "We will call the damsel, and inquire at her mouth." ⁵⁸ And they called Rebekah, and said to her, "Will you go with this man?" And she said, "I will go." ⁵⁹ And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men. ⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah, and said to her, "You are our sister, be the mother of thousands of millions, and let your seed possess the gate of those which hate them." ⁶¹ And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: And the servant took Rebekah, and went his way. ⁶² And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelled in the south country. ⁶³ And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the beginning of the evening: And he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and behold, the camels were coming. ⁶⁴ And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. ⁶⁵ For she had said to the servant, "What man is this that walks in the field to meet us?" And the servant said, "It is my master": Therefore she took a veil, and covered herself. ⁶⁶ And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done. ⁶⁷ And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: And Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

² And I will make a great nation of you, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing:

² And Abram was very rich in domestic beasts, in silver, and in gold.

¹¹ Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

⁵ And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born to him.

³⁵ And the LORD has blessed my master greatly; and he has become great: And he has given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and donkeys.

²⁰ And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

²⁵ Even by the God of your father, Who shall help you; and by the Almighty, Who shall bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies below, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

¹ Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he got no heat.

¹ Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, that delights greatly in His commandments. ² His seed shall be mighty upon earth: The generation of the upright shall be blessed. ³ Wealth and riches shall be in his house: And his righteousness endures forever.

²² The blessing of the LORD, it makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.

² Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you: For I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

³³ But you, seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

⁷ Yet they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they were both now well advanced in years.

⁹ So then those who are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

⁸ For bodily exercise profits little: But godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

² And Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?"

⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning that matter. ¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: And he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.

⁴ And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: And he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. ⁵ And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. ⁶ And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he did not have knowledge of anything he had, except the bread which he ate. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well-favored.

⁸ But he refused, and said to his master's wife, "Behold, my master does not have knowledge of what is in the house with me, and he has committed all that he has to my hand; ⁹ there is none greater in this house than I; neither has he kept back anything from me except you, because you are his wife: How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"

¹ And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, "Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.

²⁹ And the time drew near that Israel must die: And he called his son Joseph, and said to him, "If now I have found grace in your sight, put, I implore you, your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; do not bury me, I implore you, in Egypt:

²⁴ And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves to Solomon the king.

¹⁷ Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.

² that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were fair; and they took themselves wives of all which they chose.

¹⁹ And he blessed him, and said, "Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

²² And Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have lifted up my hand to the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

²³ Now therefore swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have sojourned."

²⁸ And they said, "We saw for certain that the LORD was with you: And we said, 'Let there now be an oath between us, even between us and you, and let us make a covenant with you; ²⁹ that you will do us no hurt, as we have not touched you, and as we have done to you nothing but good, and have sent you away in peace: You are now the blessed of the LORD.' " ³⁰ And he made them a feast, and they ate and drank. ³¹ And they rose up early in the morning, and swore to one another: And Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.

³⁴ And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: ³⁵ Which were a grief of mind to Isaac and to Rebekah.

⁴⁶ And Rebekah said to Isaac, "I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: If Jacob takes a wife from the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?"

⁸ and Esau perceiving that the daughters of Canaan did not please Isaac his father;

⁴⁴ Therefore now come, let us make a covenant, I and you; and let it be for a witness between me and you." ⁴⁵ And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar. ⁴⁶ And Jacob said to his brethren, "Gather stones"; and they took stones, and made a heap: And they ate there upon the heap. ⁴⁷ And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: But Jacob called it Galeed.Jegarsahadutha: In Chaldee, The heap of witnessGaleed: In Hebrew, The heap of witness ⁴⁸ And Laban said, "This heap is a witness between me and you this day." Therefore the name of it was called Galeed; ⁴⁹ and Mizpah; for he said, "The LORD watch between me and you, when we are absent from one another.Mizpah; that is, A beacon, or, A watchtower ⁵⁰ If you shall afflict my daughters, or if you shall take other wives besides my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness between me and you." ⁵¹ And Laban said to Jacob, "Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast between me and you: ⁵² This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and that you shall not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, for harm. ⁵³ The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us. And Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

²⁵ And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, "God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from this place."

⁷ You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes His name in vain.

¹¹ Then an oath of the LORD shall be between them both, that he has not put his hand to his neighbor's goods; and the owner of it shall be accepting of that, and he shall not need to make it good.

¹³ And in all things that I have said to you be circumspect: And make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of your mouth.

¹⁶ and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make your sons go a whoring after their gods.

¹² And you shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shall you profane the name of your God: I am the LORD.

²¹ Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say to the woman, The LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the LORD does make your thigh to rot, and your belly to swell;

¹³ You shall fear the LORD your God, and serve him, and shall swear by his name.

³ Neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give to his son, nor his daughter shall you take to your son. ⁴ For they will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods: So will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy you suddenly.

²⁰ You shall fear the LORD your God; him shall you serve, and to him shall you hold, and swear by his name.

¹² Now therefore, I implore you, swear to me by the LORD, since I have showed you kindness, that you will also show kindness to my father's house, and give me a true token:

¹⁷ And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: For he loved him as he loved his own soul.

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, "O LORD God of Israel, which dwell between the cherubims, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.

²⁵ And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, "You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons, or for yourselves.

¹⁵ You are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.

²³ I have sworn by Myself, the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear an oath.

¹ "Hear this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

¹⁶ That he who blesses himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that swears in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from My eyes.

² And you shall swear, 'The LORD lives', in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in Him, and in Him they shall glory."

¹¹ Thus you shall say to them, "The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, they shall even perish from the earth, and from under these heavens."

¹⁶ And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, The LORD lives; as they taught My people to swear by Baal; then they shall be built in the midst of My people.

⁵ and those that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and those that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;

³⁹ The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wills; only in the Lord.

¹⁴ Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers: For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what part has he that believes with an infidel? ¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God has said: "I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." ¹⁷ Therefore "Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will receive you",

¹⁶ For men truly swear by the greater: And an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

²⁵ And after Nahor begat Terah, he lived a hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

⁷ And the LORD appeared to Abram, and said, "I will give this land to your seed": And he built an altar to the LORD there, Who appeared to him.

²⁰ And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, "Behold, Milcah, she has also born children to your brother Nahor; ²¹ Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram, ²² and Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel. ²³ And Bethuel begat Rebekah: These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

² Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father; and take a wife from there of the daughers of Laban your mother's brother.

⁵⁸ And they called Rebekah, and said to her, "Will you go with this man?" And she said, "I will go."

² For if you refuse to let them go, and will hold them still,

¹⁶ Every prudent man deals with knowledge: But a fool lays open his folly.

¹ Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

³⁹ But we are not of those who draw back to perdition; but of those that believe to the saving of the soul.

⁹ By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them far off, and were persuaded by them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. ¹⁴ For those that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. ¹⁵ And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from which they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. ¹⁶ But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: For He has prepared a city for them.

²⁰ For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them, and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. ²¹ For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² But it has happened to them according to the true proverb, "The dog returned to his own vomit again"; and, "the hog that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

¹ Now the LORD had said to Abram, "Get out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you: ² And I will make a great nation of you, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing: ³ And I will bless those that bless you, and curse him that curses you: And in you all families of the earth shall be blessed." ⁴ So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken to him; and Lot went with him: And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed out of Haran. ⁵ And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and they did come into the land of Canaan. ⁶ And Abram passed through the land to the place of Sichem, to the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanites were in the land at that time. ⁷ And the LORD appeared to Abram, and said, "I will give this land to your seed": And he built an altar to the LORD there, Who appeared to him.

¹⁵ For all the land which you see, I will give it to you, and to your seed forever.

¹⁸ On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:

⁸ And I will give to you, and to your seed after you, the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

¹⁶ and said, " 'By Myself have I sworn,' says the LORD, 'for because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son: ¹⁷ That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; ¹⁸ and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed My voice.' "

³ Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for to you, and to your seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father; ⁴ and I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give to your seed all these countries; and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

²⁴ And the LORD appeared to him the same night, and said, "I am the God of Abraham your father: Fear not, for I am with you, and will bless you, and multiply your seed for My servant Abraham's sake."

⁵ And it shall be when the LORD shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month.

²⁰ Behold, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. ²¹ Beware of him, and obey his voice, do not provoke him; for he will not pardon your transgressions: For My name is in him. ²² But if you shall indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries. ²³ For My Angel shall go before you, and bring you in to the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: And I will cut them off.

¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and I will give all this land that I have spoken of to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.' "

² And I will send an angel before you; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:

¹⁶ because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.

³⁰ Doubtless you shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore to make you dwell in it, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

¹¹ surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

⁸ Behold, I have set the land before you: Go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to them and to their seed after them.

⁴ And the LORD said to him, "This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, "I will give it to your seed: I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over thither.

⁶ Be strong and of a good courage: For to this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them.

¹ And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, "I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you to the land which I swore to your fathers; and I said, "I will never break My covenant with you.

² thus said Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

⁸ "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with My eye.guide you with My eye: In Hebrew; counsel you, My eye shall be upon you

⁷ The angel of the LORD encamps all around those that fear Him, and delivers them.

²⁴ You shall guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

²⁰ Bless the LORD, you His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word.

⁵ Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

⁹ In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them: In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

⁹ And he said to them, "I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, which has made the sea and the dry land."

⁵ And He gave him no inheritance in it, no, not so much as to even set his foot upon: Yet He promised that He would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation?

¹³ And the same hour there was a strong earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell, and in the earthquake seven thousand men were slain: And the remnant were frightened, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁴ But you shall go to my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife to my son Isaac." ⁵ And the servant said to him, "Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land: Must I necessarily bring your son again to the land from where you came?" ⁶ And Abraham said to him, "Beware that you do not bring my son to that place again.

⁵ But if her father disallow her in the day that he hears; not any of her vows, or of her bonds with which she has bound her soul, shall stand: And the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.

⁸ But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, with which she bound her soul, of none effect: And the LORD shall forgive her.

¹⁷ And the men said to her, "We will be blameless of this your oath which you have made us swear. ¹⁸ Behold, when we come into the land, you shall bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you did let us down by: And you shall bring your father, and your mother, and your brothers, and all your father's household, home to you. ¹⁹ And it shall be, that whoever shall go out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his head, and we will be guiltless: And whoever shall be with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be on him. ²⁰ And if you utter this our business, then we will be quit of your oath which you have made us to swear.

²⁰ This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be on us, because of the oath which we swore to them.

³² and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

² And he said, "Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; the God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

² And Abraham said to his oldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, "Put, I implore you, your hand under my thigh:

³¹ And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with him from Ur of the Chaldeans, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran, and dwelled there.

⁴³ Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; arise, flee to Haran, to my brother Laban;

¹ Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.

⁴ And Jacob said to them, "My brethren, where are you from?" And they said, "We are from Haran." ⁵ And he said to them, "Do you know Laban the son of Nahor?" And they said, "We know him."

²² And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatever they did there, he was the doer of it. ²³ The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.

⁴ Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when you came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.

⁸ Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: And the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years. ⁹ And when the children of Israel cried out to the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. ¹⁰ And the Spirit of the LORD came on him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: And the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.

⁶ And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syriamaachah, and out of Zobah.

⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

¹³ Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: ¹⁴ And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, 'Let down your pitcher, I implore you, that I may drink'; and she shall say, 'Drink, and I will give your camels drink also': Let the same be her that You have appointed for Your servant Isaac; and by that I shall know You have showed kindness to my master." ¹⁵ And it came to pass, before he had finished speaking, that behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. ¹⁶ And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: And she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up. ¹⁷ And the servant ran to meet her, and said, "Let me, I implore you, drink a little water of your pitcher." ¹⁸ And she said, "Drink, my lord": And she hastened, and let down her pitcher into her hand, and gave him drink. ¹⁹ And when she had finished giving him drink, she said, "I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking." ²⁰ And she hastened, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again to the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.

¹³ And he said to him, "My lord knows that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: And if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die. ¹⁴ Let my lord, I implore you, pass over before his servant: And I will lead on softly, according to as the domestic beasts that go before me and the children are able to endure, until I come to my lord at Seir."

¹⁶ Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: And they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

¹¹ And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said to them, "Is the seer here?"

¹⁰ A righteous man regards the life of his beast: But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

⁷ There came a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink."

¹ After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Fear not, Abram: I am your shield, and your exceedingly great reward."

⁷ And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you, and to your seed after you. ⁸ And I will give to you, and to your seed after you, the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

²⁷ And he said, "Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, Who has not left destitute my master of His mercy and His truth: I being in the pathway, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brothers."

⁴² And I came this day to the well, and said, 'O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now You prosper my way in which I go:

⁴⁸ And I bowed down my head, and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter to his son.

¹⁰ And you shall bring it to your father, that he may eat, and that he may bless you before his death."

²⁰ And Isaac said to his son, "How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son?" And he said, "Because the LORD your God brought it to me."

¹³ And behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, "I am the LORD God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac: The land upon which you lie, I will give it to you, and to your seed;

⁴² Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely you would have now sent me away empty-handed. God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night."

⁹ And Jacob said, "O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which said to me, 'Return to your country, and to your kindred, and I will deal well with you':

¹⁴ And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I am bereaved of my children, then I am bereaved."

⁶ Moreover he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

¹⁵ And moreover God said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you: This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'

³⁶ And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, "LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.

¹⁴ and he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, "Where is the LORD God of Elijah? And when he also had smitten the waters, they parted here and thither: And Elisha went over.

¹¹ O LORD, I beseech you, let now your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who desire to fear your name: And prosper, I implore you, your servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

⁴ Then the king said to me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

⁵ Commit your way to the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.

¹⁶ Let Your work appear to Your servants, and Your glory to their children. ¹⁷ And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: And establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, the work of our hands, You establish it.

²⁵ Save now, I beseech You, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech You, send now prosperity.

⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "They shall prosper that love you.

¹ A Song of degrees for Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain that build it: Unless the LORD keeps the city, the watchman remains awake in vain.

⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

³² 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

⁶ Do not be full of care for anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

¹⁰ night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? ¹¹ Now may God Himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you.

¹¹ And he made his camels to kneel down outside the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.

⁴³ Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin comes forth to draw water, and I say to her, "Give me, I implore you, a little water from your pitcher to drink";

⁹ And while he still spoke with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep; for she kept them. ¹⁰ And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.

¹¹ Those that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: Then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.

⁸ And he said, "Lord GOD, by what shall I know that I shall inherit it?"

⁴⁴ and she says to me, "Both you drink, and I will also draw for your camels": Let the same be the woman whom the LORD has appointed for my master's son.'

¹ And Moses answered and said, "But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken to my voice: For they will say, 'The LORD has not appeared to you.' " ² And the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" And he said, "A rod." ³ And he said, "Cast it on the ground." And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. ⁴ And the LORD said to Moses, "Put forth your hand, and take it by the tail." And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: ⁵ That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you. ⁶ And the LORD said furthermore to him, "Now put your hand into your bosom." And he put his hand into his bosom: And when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow. ⁷ And He said, "Put your hand into your bosom again." And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and behold, it was returned again like his other flesh. ⁸ And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe you, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. ⁹ And it shall come to pass, if they also will not believe these two signs, neither hearken to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: And the water which you take out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land."

¹⁷ And he said to him, "If now I have found grace in your sight, then show me a sign that you talk with me.

³⁷ behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry on all the earth beside, then shall I know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said.

¹³ And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream to his fellow, and said, "Behold, I dreamed a dream, and lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came to a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along. ¹⁴ And his fellow answered and said, "This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: For into his hand has God delivered Midian, and all the host. ¹⁵ And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and its interpretation, that he worshiped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, "Arise; for the LORD has delivered into your hand the host of Midian.

⁵ And they said to him, "Ask counsel, we implore you, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.

⁷ Now therefore make a new cart, and take two milk cows, on which there has come no yoke, and tie the cows to the cart, and bring their calves home from them: ⁸ And take the ark of the LORD, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which you return Him for a trespass offering, in a chest by its side; and send it away, that it may go. ⁹ And observe, if it goes up by the roadway of its own border to Beth-Shemesh, then He has done us this great evil: But if not, then we shall know that it is not His hand that smote us. It was a chance that happened to us."

² When you have departed from me today, you shall then find two men by Rachel's sepulcher within the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say to you, 'The donkeys which you went to seek are found: And lo, your father has left the care of the donkeys, and sorrows for you, saying, "What shall I do for my son?" ³ Then you shall go on forward from there, and you shall come to the plain of Tabor, and there you shall meet three men going up to God at Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine: ⁴ And they will salute you, and give you two loaves of bread; which you shall receive from their hands. ⁵ After that you shall come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is: And it shall come to pass, when you have come into the city, that you shall meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy: ⁶ And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you shall prophesy with them, and shall be turned into another man. ⁷ And let it be, when these signs have come to you, that you do as occasion serve you; for God is with you. ⁸ And you shall go down before me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: Seven days you shall tarry, until I come to you, and show you what you shall do. ⁹ And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: And all those signs came to pass that day. ¹⁰ And when they came up to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.

⁸ Then Jonathan said, "Behold, we will pass over to these men, and we will disclose ourselves to them. ⁹ If they say thus to us, 'Tarry until we come to you'; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up to them. ¹⁰ But if they say thus, 'Come up to us'; then we will go up: For the LORD has delivered them into our hand: And this shall be a sign to us.

⁷ If he say thus, 'It is well'; your servant shall have peace: But if he is very wroth, then be sure that evil is determined by him.

²⁴ And let it be, when you hear the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall bestir yourself: For then shall the LORD go out before you, to smite the host of the Philistines.

⁹ And Joab said to Amasa, "Are you in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.

⁸ And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day? ⁹ And Isaiah said, "This sign shall you have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he has spoken: Shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? ¹⁰ And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: No, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. ¹¹ And Isaiah the prophet cried out to the LORD: And he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

¹⁴ House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: And a prudent wife is from the LORD.

¹¹ "Ask a sign of the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above."

¹⁰ making request, if by any means now at last I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come to you.

²⁷ Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

²⁹ And Abram and Nahor took themselves wives: The name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

¹⁴ And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: And she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

²⁴ And she said to him, "I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bore to Nahor."

⁴⁵ And before I had finished speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down to the well, and drew water: And I said to her, 'Let me drink, I implore you.'

⁹ And while he still spoke with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep; for she kept them.

³⁶ And Gideon said to God, "If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said, ³⁷ behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry on all the earth beside, then shall I know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said. ³⁸ And it was so: For he rose up early on the next day, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water. ³⁹ And Gideon said to God, "Let not your anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: Let me prove, I implore you, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only on the fleece, and on all the ground let there be dew. ⁴⁰ And God did so that night: For it was dry on the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

² And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, "Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of grain after him in whose sight I shall find grace." And she said to her, "Go, my daughter."

¹⁷ And she gleaned in the field until the evening, and beat out what she had gleaned: And it was about an ephah of barley.

¹⁵ The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.

² O You that hear prayer, to You shall all flesh come.

¹⁸ The LORD is near to all those that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. ¹⁹ He will fulfill the desire of those that fear Him; He also will hear their cry, and will save them.

²⁷ She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.

⁹ Then you shall call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, 'Here I am.' If you take away the yoke from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

²⁰ And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God; ²¹ yes, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. ²² And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill and understanding. ²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment came forth, and I have come to show you; for you are greatly beloved: Therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

¹ And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bore Cain, and said, "I have gotten a man from the LORD."

⁷ And the men of the place asked him about his wife; and he said, "She is my sister": For he feared to say, "She is my wife"; lest, he said the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

⁶ And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he did not have knowledge of anything he had, except the bread which he ate. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well-favored.

¹⁷ Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that has known man by lying with him. ¹⁸ But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

² I sleep, but my heart wakes: It is the voice of my beloved that knocks, saying, "Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: For my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night."

¹ And there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines at Gerar. ² And the LORD appeared to him, and said, "Do not go down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell you of: ³ Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for to you, and to your seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father; ⁴ and I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give to your seed all these countries; and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; ⁵ because that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws." ⁶ And Isaac dwelled in Gerar: ⁷ And the men of the place asked him about his wife; and he said, "She is my sister": For he feared to say, "She is my wife"; lest, he said the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon. ⁸ And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out through a window, and saw, and behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. ⁹ And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, "Behold, she is surely your wife: And for what reason did you say, 'She is my sister'?" And Isaac said to him, "Because I thought, 'Lest I die on account of her.' " ¹⁰ And Abimelech said, "What is this you have done to us? " ³⁰ And he made them a feast, and they ate and drank. ³¹ And they rose up early in the morning, and swore to one another: And Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace. ³² And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and reported to him concerning the well which they had dug, and said to him, "We have found water." ³³ And he called it Shebah: Therefore the name of the city is Beersheba to this day.Shebah; that is, An oathBeersheba; that is, The well of the oath

¹⁰ So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: And he called to her, and said, "Fetch me, I implore you, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

¹⁰ They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: For He that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall He guide them.

⁹ Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, who am a woman of Samaria?" For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

¹⁴ And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, 'Let down your pitcher, I implore you, that I may drink'; and she shall say, 'Drink, and I will give your camels drink also': Let the same be her that You have appointed for Your servant Isaac; and by that I shall know You have showed kindness to my master."

²⁶ She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

⁸ Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion toward one another, love as brethren, be tender-hearted, be courteous:

¹⁹ Yet there is both straw and dry meal for our donkeys; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for your handmaid, and for the young man which is with your servants: There is no want of anything. ²⁰ And the old man said, "Peace be with you; howsoever let all your wants lie on me; only lodge not in the street. ²¹ So he brought him into his house, and gave dry meal to the donkeys: And they washed their feet, and ate and drink.

⁸ But the liberal devises liberal things; and by liberal things he shall stand.

Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me." ⁹ Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head." ¹⁰ Jesus said to him, "He that is washed needs only to wash his feet, yet is altogether clean: And you are clean, but not all of you." ¹¹ For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, "You are not all clean." ¹² So after He had washed their feet, taken His clothes, and sat down again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? ¹³ You call Me Master and Lord: And you say well; for so I am. ¹⁴ If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet.

¹⁰ well reported of for good works; if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.

¹² Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

³ "Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; ⁴ I will not give sleep to my eyes, nor slumber to my eyelids, ⁵ until I find out a place for the LORD, a habitation for the Mighty God of Jacob."

²⁹ See a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you go.

¹⁴ But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

⁵ Servants, be obedient to those that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; ⁶ not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; ⁷ with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: ⁸ Knowing that whatever good any man does, he shall receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a bond-servant or free.

² And those who have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. Teach and exhort these things.

³ Wealth and riches shall be in his house: And his righteousness endures forever.

⁴ By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.

And shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?" ¹⁸ And Abraham said to God, "O that Ishmael might live before you!" ¹⁹ And God said, "Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed; and you shall call his name Isaac: And I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

¹⁰ And he said, "I will certainly return to you according to the time of life; and lo, Sarah your wife shall have a son." And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. ¹¹ Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. ¹² Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, "After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?" ¹³ And the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, 'Shall I indeed truly bear a child, who am old?' ¹⁴ Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son."

¹ And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did to Sarah as He had spoken. ² For Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. ³ And Abraham called the name of his son that was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac. ⁴ And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. ⁵ And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born to him. ⁶ And Sarah said, "God has made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me." ⁷ And she said, "Who would have said to Abraham, that Sarah should suckle children? For I have borne him a son in his old age."

¹⁰ For this reason she said to Abraham, "Cast out this bondwoman and her son: For the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.

⁵ And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.

¹⁹ And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:

² And Abraham said to his oldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, "Put, I implore you, your hand under my thigh: ³ And I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that you shall not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: ⁴ But you shall go to my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife to my son Isaac." ⁵ And the servant said to him, "Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land: Must I necessarily bring your son again to the land from where you came?" ⁶ And Abraham said to him, "Beware that you do not bring my son to that place again. ⁷ The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spoke to me, and that swore to me, saying, 'To your seed I will give this land'; he shall send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife to my son from there. ⁸ And if the woman will not be willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this my oath: Only do not bring my son to that place again." ⁹ And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning that matter.

⁴⁶ And Rebekah said to Isaac, "I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: If Jacob takes a wife from the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?"

¹ Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, "The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. ² For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: So that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: Yes, the hand of the princes and rulers has been chief in this trespass. ³ And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonished.

¹ Now the LORD had said to Abram, "Get out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you:

¹⁹ And Laban went to shear his sheep: And Rachel had stolen the images that were her father's.

⁵ And the servant said to him, "Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land: Must I necessarily bring your son again to the land from where you came?"

²² And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

²⁴ And Enoch walked with God: And he was not; for God took him.

⁹ These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

¹ And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, "I am the Almighty God; walk before Me, and be perfect.

⁷ The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spoke to me, and that swore to me, saying, 'To your seed I will give this land'; he shall send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife to my son from there.

¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God which fed me all my life long to this day,

²⁰ Behold, I send an Angel before you, to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

³ and keep the charge of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself:

²³ And he said, "LORD God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keep covenant and mercy with your servants that walk before you with all their heart:

³ I beseech you, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

⁸ I have set the LORD always before me: Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

²⁸ Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke, and said, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Who has sent His angel, and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and has changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

⁸ And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things.

¹⁶ "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright and Morning Star."

⁸ And if the woman will not be willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this my oath: Only do not bring my son to that place again."

¹² That you should enter into covenant with the LORD your God, and into his oath, which the LORD your God makes with you this day:

¹² And he said, "O LORD God of my master Abraham, I implore you, send me good speed this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham. ¹³ Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: ¹⁴ And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, 'Let down your pitcher, I implore you, that I may drink'; and she shall say, 'Drink, and I will give your camels drink also': Let the same be her that You have appointed for Your servant Isaac; and by that I shall know You have showed kindness to my master."

³¹ And he said, "Come in, you blessed of the LORD; why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and room for the camels."

³ And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

²¹ Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

¹⁷ And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: And establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, the work of our hands, You establish it.

⁷ And when the angel which spoke to Cornelius had departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier from those who waited on him continually; ⁸ and when he had declared all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

²² And they said, "Cornelius the centurion, a just man, one that fears God, and has a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews, was warned by a holy angel from God to send for you into his house, and to hear words from you."

²² and out of the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, He made a woman, and brought her to the man.

³³ The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing of it is of the LORD.

²² Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD.

¹⁰ (which is proper for women professing godliness), but with good works.

² Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: For by doing that some have entertained angels without being aware.

¹³ Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. ¹⁴ And Eli said to her, "How long will you be drunken? Put away your wine from you." ¹⁵ And Hannah answered and said, "No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drank neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

²⁷ For you, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, saying, "I will build you a house: Therefore has your servant found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.

¹⁹ O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; Defer not, for Your own sake, O my God: For Your city and Your people are called by Your name."

²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment came forth, and I have come to show you; for you are greatly beloved: Therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

⁷ Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you:

²⁴ And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "Lord, You are God, which has made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that is in them: ²⁵ Who by the mouth of Your servant David has said, 'Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the LORD, and against His Christ.' ²⁷ "For truly against Your holy Child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, ²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined beforehand to be done. ²⁹ And now Lord, behold their threats: And grant to Your servants, that with all boldness they may speak Your word, ³⁰ by stretching forth Your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of Your holy Child Jesus." ³¹ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness. ³² Moreover the multitude of those that believed were of one heart and of one soul: Neither did any of them say that the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things in common. ³³ And with great power the apostles gave witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: And great grace was upon them all.

³⁰ And Cornelius said, "Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

¹² Then, when he had considered the matter, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying. ¹³ And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. ¹⁴ And when she knew Peter's voice, she did not open the gate due to gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. ¹⁵ And they said to her, "You are mad." But she constantly affirmed that it was in fact so. Then they said, "It is his angel." ¹⁶ Also Peter continued knocking: And when they opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished. ¹⁷ But he, beckoning to them with the hand to hold their peace, declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, "Go report these things to James, and to the brethren." And he departed, and went into another place.

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought: But the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

¹⁸ And she said, "Drink, my lord": And she hastened, and let down her pitcher into her hand, and gave him drink. ¹⁹ And when she had finished giving him drink, she said, "I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking."

²² And it came to pass, as the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold; ²³ and said, "Whose daughter are you? Tell me, I implore you: Is there room in your father's house for us to lodge in?" ²⁴ And she said to him, "I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bore to Nahor."

⁵³ And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing, and gave them to Rebekah: He also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother.

⁹ Kings' daughters were among Your honorable women: Upon Your right hand stood the queen in gold of Ophir.

¹³ The king's daughter is all glorious within: Her clothing is of formed gold. ¹⁴ She shall be brought to the King in clothing of needlework: Her companions, the virgins, that follow her shall be brought to You.

³ You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. ⁴ You shall no longer be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah: For the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married. ⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you: And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

¹⁰ I also clothed you with broidered work, and shod you with badgers' skin, and I girded you about with fine linen, and I covered you with silk. ¹¹ I decked you also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon your hands, and a chain on your neck. ¹² And I put a jewel on your forehead, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head. ¹³ Thus were you decked with gold and silver; and your clothing was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; you ate fine flour, and honey, and oil: And you were exceeding beautiful, and you did prosper into a kingdom.

²⁶ that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, ²⁷ that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

²⁶ And the man bowed down his head, and worshiped the LORD. ²⁷ And he said, "Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, Who has not left destitute my master of His mercy and His truth: I being in the pathway, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brothers."

²⁰ And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do.

¹⁴ For this God is our God forever and ever: He will be our guide even to death.

⁷ And He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

¹¹ I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths.

¹⁷ Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD your God who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go.

¹⁷ Let us pass, I implore you, through your country: We will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: We will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed your borders.

²⁷ let me pass through your land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn to the right hand nor to the left.

¹⁴ And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if you utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.

³ Do not let mercy and truth forsake you: Bind them around your neck; write them upon the tablet of your heart:

²⁸ And the damsel ran, and told these things to those of her mother' house.

²⁴ And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him, "Take heed that you do not speak to Jacob either good or bad."

²⁹ It is in the power of my hand to do you harm: But the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, 'Take heed that you do not speak to Jacob either good or bad.'

²² And Absalom spoke to his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: For Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.

²³ This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

⁴² Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: This is the LORD'S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?

¹¹ This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'? "

¹⁷ Seeing then that God gave them the same gift as He did to us, who believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, that I could withstand God?"

¹⁵ And Abimelech said, "Behold, my land is before you: Dwell where it pleases you."

¹⁰ And the king said, "What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the LORD has said to him, "Curse David. Who shall then say, "Why have you done so?

²⁶ And the man bowed down his head, and worshiped the LORD.

¹ A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. ² My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: The humble shall hear of it, and be glad.

²¹ Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! ²² And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.

¹ I love the LORD, because He has heard my voice and my supplications. ² Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

¹¹ And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshiped Him: And when they had opened their treasures, they presented to Him gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

²⁵ And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshiped him. ²⁶ But Peter lifted him up, saying, "Stand up; I myself also am a man."

¹⁰ And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: And he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.

²² And it came to pass, as the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;

²² But every woman shall borrow from her neighbor, and of her that sojourns in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing: And you shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and you shall spoil the Egyptians."

³⁵ And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed from the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing:

¹³ And of Joseph he said, "Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath, ¹⁴ and for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon, ¹⁵ and for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills, ¹⁶ and for the precious things of the earth and fullness of it, and for the good will of him that dwelled in the bush: Let the blessing come on the head of Joseph, and on the top of the head of him that was separated from his brothers.

³ And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: But the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the firstborn.

⁶ And all those that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.

¹³ Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; henna flowers, with spikenard,

² And Hezekiah was glad with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures: There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah did not show them.

⁵⁹ And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men.

⁵ And Isaac sent away Jacob: And he went to Padanaram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother. ⁶ When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take himself a wife from there; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, "You shall not take a wife of the daughers of Canaan";

²⁴ So he sent his brothers away, and they departed: And he said to them, "See that you do not fall out along the way."

¹⁹ Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that the LORD has avenged him of his enemies.

²⁷ And the watchman said, "Me thinks the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, "He is a good man, and comes with good tidings. ²⁸ And Ahimaaz called, and said to the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth on his face before the king, and said, "Blessed be the LORD your God, which has delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.

¹⁰ Do not say, "What is the cause that the former days were better than these? For you do not inquire wisely concerning this.

³⁸ Now the man out of whom the devils had departed implored Him that he might be with Him: But Jesus sent him away, saying, ³⁹ "Return to your own house, and show what great things God has done to you." And he went his way, and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done to him.

³ And in the process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering to the LORD.

²⁹ And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he redeem it.

⁸ And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion: And behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcass of the lion.

⁹ Make haste, and go up to my father, and say to him, 'Thus says your son Joseph, "God has made me lord of all Egypt: Come down to me, do not tarry: ¹⁰ And you shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me, you, and your children, and your children's children, and your flocks, and your herds, and all that you have: ¹¹ And I will nourish you there; for there are still five more years of famine; lest you, and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty." ⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

²⁵ As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

¹⁵ I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.

¹⁰ Listen, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; forget also your own people, and your father's house; ¹¹ so shall the King greatly desire Your beauty: For He is your Lord; and you worship Him.

³⁸ And Mary said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; may it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.

⁵⁰ Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, "The thing proceeds from the LORD: We cannot speak to you bad or good.

⁸ But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: And the name of it was called Allonbachuth.Allonbachuth; that is, The oak of weeping

¹² Have I conceived all this people? Have I begotten them, that you should say to me, Carry them in your bosom, as a nursing father bears the sucking child, to the land which you swore to their fathers?

⁵ Seeing we did not use flattering words at any time, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness:

²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: And have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

¹⁶ And I will bless her, and give you a son also of her: Yes, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be from her."

¹⁷ That in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

³ And God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a multitude of people;

¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God which fed me all my life long to this day, ¹⁶ the Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."

²⁰ And he blessed them that day, saying, "In you shall Israel bless, saying, 'God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh' ": And he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

⁴⁶ And you shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your servants forever: But over your brothers the children of Israel, you shall not rule one over another with rigor.

¹⁹ Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out to the elders of his city, and to the gate of his place;

¹¹ And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, "We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman who has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, for these two built the house of Israel: And may you do worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem: ¹² And let your house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give you of this young woman."

¹⁰ A fiery stream issued and came out from before Him: Thousand thousands ministered to Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: The judgment was set, and the books were opened.

²⁴ Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife: And they shall be one flesh.

³⁴ Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's saddle pack, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but did not find them.

¹⁷ And David smote them from the twilight even until the evening of the next day: And not a man of them escaped there, except four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.

¹⁰ And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus' name, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries:

¹⁴ So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace.

¹⁰ Listen, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; forget also your own people, and your father's house;

⁹ And Abram journeyed, going on still further toward the south.

¹⁴ For this reason the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.Beerlahairoi; that is, The well of Him that lives and sees me

¹ And Abraham journeyed from there toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.

² But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law he meditates day and night.

¹¹ I will remember the works of the LORD: Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. ¹² I will also meditate of all Your work, and talk of Your doings.

³⁴ My meditation to Him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

¹⁵ I will meditate in Your precepts, and have respect to Your ways.

²⁷ Make me to understand the way of Your precepts: So shall I talk of Your wondrous works.

⁴⁸ I will also lift up my hands to Your commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in Your statutes.

¹⁷ How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! ¹⁸ If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with You.

⁵ I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I ponder on the work of Your hands. ⁶ I stretch forth my hands to You; my soul thirsts after You, as a thirsty land. Selah.

⁵ I will speak of the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and of Your wondrous works.

¹⁸ And it came to pass, as she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: And she lighted off her donkey; and Caleb said to her, "What would you?

¹⁶ And to Sarah he said, "Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver: Behold, he is to you a covering of the eyes, to all that are with you, and with all others: Thus she was reproved."

⁵ But every woman that prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head: For that is even the same as if she were shaven. ⁶ For if the woman is not covered, let her also be shorn: But if it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

¹⁰ For this reason the woman ought to have a token of jurisdiction on her head because of the angels.

⁹ In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with bashfulness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly apparel;

³⁰ Then the apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and told Him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

²² and out of the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, He made a woman, and brought her to the man. ²³ And Adam said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." ²⁴ Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife: And they shall be one flesh.

⁶ And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, "Quickly make ready three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth."

⁹ And they said to him, "Where is Sarah your wife?" And he said, "Behold, in the tent." ¹⁰ And he said, "I will certainly return to you according to the time of life; and lo, Sarah your wife shall have a son." And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

¹ And Sarah was a hundred twenty-seven years old: These were the years of the life of Sarah. ² And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: And Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.

¹⁸ And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, "I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter."

³⁵ And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, "For I will go down into the grave to my son still mourning." Thus his father wept for him.

¹² And in the process of time the daughter of Shuah Judah's wife died; and Judah was comforted, and went up to his sheep shearers at Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.

² I would lead you, and bring you into my mother's house, who would instruct me: I would cause you to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.

¹ "Sing, O barren, you who did not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who did not travail with child: For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife", said the LORD. ² "Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations: Spare not, lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes; ³ for you shall break forth on the right hand and on the left; and your seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. ⁴ Fear not; for you shall not be ashamed: Neither will you be confounded; for you shall not be put to shame: For you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more. ⁵ For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; He shall be called the God of the whole earth.

¹ I pray to God that you could bear with me a little in my folly, and indeed you do bear with me. ² For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: For I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

²² Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. ²³ For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: And He is the Savior of the body. ²⁴ Therefore, as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; ²⁶ that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, ²⁷ that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. ²⁸ So husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. ²⁹ For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord does the church: ³⁰ For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. ³¹ "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh." ³² This is a great mystery: But I speak concerning Christ and the church. ³³ Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she reverence her husband.

¹³ But I would not like you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are deceased, that you do not sorrow, even as others who have no hope.

¹⁵ For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not precede those which are deceased.
