²⁰ And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, "If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,

¹⁵ And behold, I am with you, and will keep you in every place to which you go, and will bring you back again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you."

¹³ I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar, and where you vowed a vow to me: Now arise, get out from this land, and return to the land of your kindred.' "

¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ² speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for the LORD by your estimation. ³ And your estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. ⁴ And if it be a female, then your estimation shall be thirty shekels. ⁵ And if it be from five years old even to twenty years old, then your estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. ⁶ And if it be from a month old even to five years old, then your estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your estimation shall be three shekels of silver. ⁷ And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then your estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels. ⁸ But if he be poorer than your estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him. ⁹ And if it be a beast, whereof men bring an offering to the LORD, all that any man gives of such to the LORD shall be holy. ¹⁰ He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: And if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and its exchange shall be holy. ¹¹ And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice to the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest: ¹² And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: As you value it, who are the priest, so shall it be. ¹³ But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part of it to your estimation. ¹⁴ And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy to the LORD, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: As the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. ¹⁵ And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be his. ¹⁶ And if a man shall sanctify to the LORD some part of a field of his possession, then your estimation shall be according to its seed: An homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. ¹⁷ If he sanctify his field from the year of jubilee, according to your estimation it shall stand. ¹⁸ But if he sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain, even to the year of the jubilee, and it shall be abated from your estimation. ¹⁹ And if he that sanctified the field will in any wise redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be assured to him. ²⁰ And if he will not redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more. ²¹ But the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a field devoted; its possession shall be the priest's. ²² And if a man sanctify to the LORD a field which he has bought, which is not of the fields of his possession; ²³ then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your estimation, even to the year of the jubilee: And he shall give your estimation in that day, as a holy thing to the LORD. ²⁴ In the year of the jubilee the field shall return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land did belong. ²⁵ And all your estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: Twenty gerahs shall be the shekel. ²⁶ Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD's firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: It is the LORD's. ²⁷ And if it be of an unclean beast, then he shall redeem it according to your estimation, and shall add a fifth part of it thereto: Or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your estimation. ²⁸ Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to the LORD of all that he has, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: Every devoted thing is most holy to the LORD. ²⁹ None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death. ³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: It is holy to the LORD. ³¹ And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part of it. ³² And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD. ³³ He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: And if he change it at all, then both it and its change shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. ³⁴ These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in Mount Sinai.

¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ² speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves to the LORD: ³ He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. ⁴ All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk. ⁵ All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come on his head: Until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separates himself to the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. ⁶ All the days that he separates himself to the LORD he shall come at no dead body. ⁷ He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: Because the consecration of his God is on his head. ⁸ All the days of his separation he is holy to the LORD. ⁹ And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he has defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it. ¹⁰ And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: ¹¹ And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for him, for that he sinned by the dead, and shall hallow his head that same day. ¹² And he shall consecrate to the LORD the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a trespass offering: But the days that were before shall be lost, because his separation was defiled. ¹³ And this is the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled: He shall be brought to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: ¹⁴ And he shall offer his offering to the LORD, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings, ¹⁵ and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their food offering, and their drink offerings. ¹⁶ And the priest shall bring them before the LORD, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering: ¹⁷ And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread: The priest shall offer also his food offering, and his drink offering. ¹⁸ And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it in the fire which is under the sacrifice of the peace offerings. ¹⁹ And the priest shall take the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them on the hands of the Nazarite, after the hair of his separation is shaven: ²⁰ And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: This is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: And after that the Nazarite may drink wine.

² And Israel vowed a vow to the LORD, and said, "If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities. ³ And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: And he called the name of the place Hormah.

³⁰ And Jephthah vowed a vow to the LORD, and said, "If you shall without fail deliver the children of Ammon into my hands, ³¹ then it shall be, that whatever comes forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.

¹¹ And she vowed a vow, and said, "O, LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look upon the affliction of Your handmaid and remember me, and not forget Your handmaid, but will give to Your handmaid a manchild, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head."

²⁸ Therefore I also have lent him to the LORD; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the LORD." And he worshiped the LORD there.

²⁴ And the men of Israel were distressed that day: For Saul had adjured the people, saying, "Cursed be the man that eats any food until evening, that I may be avenged on my enemies." So none of the people tasted any food.

⁸ For your servant vowed a vow while I stayed at Geshur in Syria, saying, "If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.

¹ Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackcloths, and earth on them. ² And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. ³ And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshiped the LORD their God. ⁴ Then stood up on the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried out with a loud voice to the LORD their God. ⁵ Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, "Stand up and bless the LORD your God forever and ever: And blessed be your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise. ⁶ You, even you, are LORD alone; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are in it, the seas, and all that is in it, and you preserve them all; and the host of heaven worships you. ⁷ You are the LORD the God, who did choose Abram, and brought him forth out of Ur of the Chaldeans, and gave him the name of Abraham; ⁸ and found his heart faithful before you, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, "to his seed, and have performed your words; for you are righteous: ⁹ And did see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red sea; ¹⁰ and showed signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: For you knew that they dealt proudly against them. So did you get you a name, as it is this day.

²⁵ My praise shall be of You in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before those that fear Him.

¹² Your vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises to You.

⁵ For You, O God, have heard my vows: You have given me the heritage of those that fear Your name.

⁸ So I will sing praise to Your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows.

¹³ I will go into Your house with burnt offerings: I will pay You my vows,

¹¹ Vow, and pay to the LORD your God: Let all that are around Him bring presents to Him that ought to be feared.

¹⁴ I will pay my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all His people.

¹⁸ I will pay my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all His people,

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep Your righteous judgments.

² How he swore to the LORD, and he vowed to the Mighty God of Jacob;

¹ Keep your foot when you go to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: For they do not consider that they do evil. ² Do not be rash with your mouth, and do not let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God: For God is in heaven, and you on earth: Therefore let your words be few. ³ For a dream comes through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by a multitude of words. ⁴ When you vow a vow to God, do not defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools: Pay that which you have vowed. ⁵ It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay. ⁶ Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin; neither shall you say before the angel, that it was an error: Why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands? ⁷ For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also various vanities: But you shall fear God.

²¹ And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yes, they shall vow a vow to the LORD, and perform it.

¹⁶ And of His fullness we all have received, and grace for grace.

¹⁸ And after this Paul tarried there a good while yet, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed from there into Syria, and with him were Priscilla and Aquila; having shaved his head in Cenchrea: For he had taken a vow.

¹² And when it was day, certain ones of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul. ¹³ Now there were more than forty who had committed to this conspiracy. ¹⁴ And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, "We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul. ¹⁵ Now you, therefore, together with the council, signify to the chief captain that he bring him down to you tomorrow, as though you would inquire something more perfectly concerning him: And we are ready to kill him whenever he comes near."

⁸ And having food and clothing, let us be content with these.
