¹ Now the serpent was more subtle than any wild beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Yes, has God said, 'All of you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?' Have you eaten of the tree which I commanded you that you should not eat?" ¹² And the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." ¹³ And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this that you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent beguiled me, and I ate." ¹⁴ And the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, you are cursed above all domestic beasts, and above every wild beast of the field; upon your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life: ¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel." ¹⁶ To the woman He said, "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in sorrow you shall bring forth children; and your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over you." ¹⁷ And to Adam He said, "Because you have hearkened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it': Cursed is the ground for your sake; in sorrow you shall eat of it all the days of your life; ¹⁸ it shall also bring forth thorns and thistles to you; and you shall eat the herb of the field; ¹⁹ in the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, until you return to the ground; for out of it you were taken: For dust you are, and to dust you shall return." ²⁰ And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. ²¹ Also, the LORD God made coats of skins to give to Adam and to his wife, and clothed them. ²² And the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become as one of Us, to know good and evil: And now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever": ²³ Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from where he was taken. ²⁴ So He drove out the man; and He placed Cherubims at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to secure the way to the tree of life.

¹³ And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this that you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent beguiled me, and I ate." ¹⁴ And the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, you are cursed above all domestic beasts, and above every wild beast of the field; upon your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life: ¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel."

²⁸ And the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have smitten me these three times? ²⁹ And Balaam said to the donkey, Because you have mocked me: I would there were a sword in my hand, for now would I kill you.

¹⁰ For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: But woe to him who is alone when he falls; for he does not have another to help him up.

¹ In that day the LORD shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent with His severe and great and strong sword, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and He shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

³ And when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread."

⁶ and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down: For it is written, 'He shall give His angels charge concerning You': And, 'in their hands they shall bear You up, lest at any time You dash Your foot against a stone.' "

⁹ and said to Him, "I will give You all these things, if You will fall down and worship me."

¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

³ But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve through his cunning subtilty, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

¹⁴ And no wonder; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

⁷ Husbands, likewise, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers are not hindered.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

⁴ Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: They are like the deaf adder that stops her ear;

¹⁶ And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "You may freely eat of every tree of the garden: ¹⁷ But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

⁶ And God said to him in a dream, "Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart; for I also withheld you from sinning against Me: Therefore I did not permit you to touch her.

¹² And you shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, 'Take heed to yourselves, that you do not go up into the mount, or touch the border of it: Whoever touches the mount shall surely be put to death: ¹³ A hand shall not touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it is beast or man, it shall not live': When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mount."

²² saying, Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

¹¹ But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.

⁵ But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.

²¹ Have pity on me, have pity on me, O you my friends; for the hand of God has touched me.

¹ Now concerning the things about which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

¹⁷ Therefore "Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will receive you",

¹³ And the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this that you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent beguiled me, and I ate."

¹⁹ and it come to pass, when he hears the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, "I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:

⁴ Now therefore thus says the LORD, You shall not come down from that bed on which you have gone up, but shall surely die. And Elijah departed.

⁶ And they said to him, "There came a man up to meet us, and said to us, Go, turn again to the king that sent you, and say to him, Thus says the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from that bed on which you have gone up, but shall surely die.

¹⁶ And he said to him, "Thus says the LORD, For as much as you have sent messengers to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? Therefore you shall not come down off that bed on which you have gone up, but shall surely die.

¹⁰ And Elisha said to him, "Go, say to him, You may certainly recover: However, the LORD has showed me that he shall surely die.

¹¹ He has said in his heart, "God has forgotten: He hides His face; He will never see it."

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: For he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹¹ lest Satan should get an advantage over us: For we are not ignorant of his devices.

¹³ Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, the prophets say to them, 'You shall not see the sword, neither shall you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.' " ¹⁴ Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies in My name: I did not send them, neither have I commanded them, nor spoke to them: They prophesy to you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their heart."

² "Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, 'I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. ³ Within two full years I will bring into this place again all the vessels of the LORD's house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:

² "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own hearts, 'Hear the word of the LORD; ³ thus says the Lord GOD; "Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! ⁴ O Israel, your prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. ⁵ You have not gone up into the breach, neither built up the wall for the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the LORD. ⁶ They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, 'The LORD said': And the LORD has not sent them: And they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.

²² Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

² "Son of man, say to the prince of Tyrus, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, 'I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas'; yet you are a man, and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of God:

⁹ Will you yet say before him who slays you, 'I am God?' But you shall be a man, and no God, in the hand of him who slays you.

³ Speak, and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon who lies in the middle of his rivers, who has said, 'My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.'

³⁰ The king spoke, and said, "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?"

⁷ All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counselors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, except of you, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

²³ But if your eye is evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

²² And the people gave a shout, saying, "It is the voice of a god, and not of a man." ²³ And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he did not give glory to God: And he was eaten by worms, and gave up the ghost.

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith that is in Me.'

⁴ In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no wonder; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also are transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

⁴ who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself as though he is God.

⁴ And they worshiped the dragon which gave power to the beast: And they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"

¹⁴ and deceives those that dwell on the earth by means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and lived.

¹ I made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I think on a maid?

¹⁶ "Son of man, behold, I take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: Yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

¹² Therefore, just as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned: ¹³ (For until the law sin was in the world: But sin is not imputed when there is no law. ¹⁴ Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is a type of Him that was to come. ¹⁵ But the free gift is not also as the offense. For if through the offense of one many are dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one Man, Jesus Christ, has abounded to many. ¹⁶ And the gift is not as though it came by one that sinned: For the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses to justification. ¹⁷ For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.) ¹⁸ Therefore, as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of One the free gift came upon all men to justification of life. ¹⁹ For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One many shall be made righteous.

¹⁴ But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. ¹⁵ Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: And sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

²⁵ And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

⁵ For God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

³³ Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as you have heard, and live?

²⁵ Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us: If we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

¹⁴ For the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you, and to give up your enemies before you; therefore shall your camp be holy: That he see no unclean thing in you, and turn away from you.

¹⁴ Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he sees not; and he walks in the circuit of heaven.

³³ If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding my iniquity in my bosom:

²¹ For his eyes are on the ways of man, and he sees all his goings. ²² There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

¹ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

³ The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

²⁴ Can anyone hide himself in secret places such that I shall not see him?" said the LORD. "Do I not fill heaven and earth?" said the LORD.

² Though they dig into hell, there My hand shall take them; though they climb up to heaven, there I will bring them down: ³ And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there; and though they hide from My sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and he shall bite them:

³ But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: So he paid its fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

⁹ And he said to them, "I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, which has made the sea and the dry land." ¹⁰ Then the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, "Why have you done this?" For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because He had told them.

¹³ Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: But all things are naked and uncovered to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to give account.

⁶ Moreover he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

²⁵ And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked to their shame among their enemies):

¹⁵ Therefore am I troubled at his presence: When I consider, I am afraid of him.

¹²⁰ My flesh trembles for fear of You; and I am afraid of Your judgments.

¹⁴ The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

³ Your nakedness shall be uncovered, yes, your shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet you as a man.

¹¹ And of whom have you been afraid or feared, that you have lied, and have not remembered Me, nor laid it to your heart? Have I not held my peace even of old, and you do not fear Me?

²⁰ For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

¹⁷ Because you say, 'I am rich, and am increased with goods, and have need of nothing'; but do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked: ¹⁸ I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, so that the shame of your nakedness does not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye-salve, that you may see.

¹⁵ "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame."

¹⁰ And He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground.

²¹ You have done these things, and I kept silence; you thought that I was altogether such a one as yourself: But I will reprove you, and set them in order before your eyes.

²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight: For by the law is the knowledge of sin.

¹⁸ And the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help-aid suitable for him."

²⁰ And Adam gave names to all domestic beasts, and to the fowl of the air, and to every wild beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help-aid suitable for him.

²² and out of the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, He made a woman, and brought her to the man.

²¹ And Moses said to Aaron, "What did this people say to you, that you have brought so great a sin upon them?" ²² And Aaron said, "Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: You know the people, that they are set on mischief. ²³ For they said to me, 'Make us gods, which shall go before us: Because, as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.' ²⁴ And I said to them, 'Whoever has any gold, let them break it off.' So they gave it to me: Then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf."

²⁰ And Saul said to Samuel, "Yes, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. ²¹ But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal." ²² And Samuel said, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. ²³ For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king." ²⁴ And Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned: For I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and your words: Because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

³ The foolishness of man perverts his way: And his heart frets against the LORD.

¹³ He that covers his sins shall not prosper: But whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

²⁹ But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

³ For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

¹³ Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God": For God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He tempt any man:

⁴ And the serpent said to the woman, "You shall not surely die: ⁵ For God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." ⁶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit, and ate, and also gave to her husband with her; and he ate.

¹⁰ And He said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground. ¹¹ And now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened her mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand; ¹² when you till the ground, it shall not yield her strength to you from now on; a fugitive and a vagabond you shall be in the earth."

¹⁵ And Joseph said to them, "What deed is this that you have done? Do you not know that such a man as I can certainly divine?

¹¹ And Samuel said, "What have you done?" And Saul said, "Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;

²⁴ Then Joab came to the king, and said, "What have you done? Behold, Abner came to you; why is it that you have sent him away, and he is quite gone?

⁹ Why have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. ¹⁰ Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house; because you have despised me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife. ¹¹ Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. ¹² For you did it secretly: But I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

³⁵ Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me: What have You done?"

¹ Now the serpent was more subtle than any wild beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Yes, has God said, 'All of you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?' "All of you: In KJV, Ye; hence "All of you" signifies a plural "you"

⁶ Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed: For He made man in the image of God.

²⁸ If an ox gores a man or a woman, that they die: Then the ox shall surely be stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be left unpunished. ²⁹ But if the ox was known to push with his horn in time past, and it has been testified to his owner, and he has not kept him in, but that he has killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner shall also be put to death. ³⁰ If there is laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatever is laid upon him. ³¹ Whether he has gored a son, or has gored a daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him. ³² If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give to their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.

²⁵ You shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: And you shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creeps on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

¹⁵ But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come on you, and overtake you: ¹⁶ Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field. ¹⁷ Cursed shall be your basket and your store. ¹⁸ Cursed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. ¹⁹ Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. ²⁰ The LORD shall send on you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand to for to do, until you be destroyed, and until you perish quickly; because of the wickedness of your doings, by which you have forsaken me.

⁹ Those that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before Him; and His enemies shall lick the dust.

⁴ And you shall be brought down, and shall speak out of the ground, and your speech shall be low out of the dust, and your voice shall be like one who has a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and your speech shall whisper out of the dust.

²⁵ The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bull: And dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain", said the LORD.

¹⁷ They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: They shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of You.

¹⁷ Dan shall be a serpent by the pathway, an adder in the path, that bites the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

⁶ And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. ⁷ Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against you; pray to the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

¹¹ The LORD has sworn in truth to David; He will not turn from it; "From the fruit of your body I will set kings upon the throne.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

³ He is despised and rejected by men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid our faces from Him as it were; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. ⁴ Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: Yet we had esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

¹² Therefore I will divide to Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He has poured out His soul to death: And He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

²² How long will you go about, O you backsliding daughter? For the LORD has created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man."

²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself: And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end of it shall be with a flood, and until the end of the war desolations are determined.

³ And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there; and though they hide from My sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and he shall bite them:

³ Therefore He will give them up, until the time that she which travails has brought forth: Then the remnant of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel.

²³ "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel", which being interpreted is, "God with us."

²⁵ And knew her not until she had brought forth her firstborn Son: And he called His name JESUS.

⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, "O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

¹ Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. ² And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. ³ And when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread." ⁴ But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.' " ⁵ Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, ⁶ and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down: For it is written, 'He shall give His angels charge concerning You': And, 'in their hands they shall bear You up, lest at any time You dash Your foot against a stone.' " ⁷ Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' " ⁸ Again, the devil took Him up into an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; ⁹ and said to Him, "I will give You all these things, if You will fall down and worship me." ¹⁰ Then Jesus said to Him, "Get away from here, Satan: For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.' "

³⁴ O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

³⁸ the field is the world; the good seeds are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

³³ You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation of hell?

¹⁸ they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

³¹ And behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. ³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: And the Lord God shall give to Him the throne of His father David: ³³ And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end." ³⁴ Then Mary said to the angel, "How shall this be, seeing I have not known a man?" ³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: Therefore that Holy One which shall be born of you shall also be called the Son of God.

⁷⁶ And you, child, shall be called the prophet of the Highest: For you shall go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways;

¹⁹ Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: And nothing shall by any means hurt you.

³⁹ And He came out, and went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed; and His disciples also followed Him. ⁴⁰ And when He was at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you do not enter into temptation." ⁴¹ And He was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down, and prayed, ⁴² saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me: Nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." ⁴³ Moreover an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. ⁴⁴ And being in an agony, He prayed more earnestly: Moreover His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

⁵³ When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not stretch forth any hands against Me: But this is your hour, and the power of darkness."

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world: Now shall the prince of this world be cast out. ³² And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Me." ³³ This He said, signifying what death He should die.

³⁰ After this I will not talk much with you: For the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in Me. ³¹ But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave Me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go from this place."

¹⁰ and said, "O full of all craftiness and all mischief, you child of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

³ Moreover, when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. ⁴ Now when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, "No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet vengeance does not permit him to live." ⁵ But he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. ⁶ Nevertheless, they looked in expectation that he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: But after they had looked for a long while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

¹³ "Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit"; "the poison of asps is under their lips":

²⁰ And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

⁴ But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

⁸ Therefore He says: "When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."

¹⁵ and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made an exhibit of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

¹⁴ Since then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; ¹⁵ and deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

¹⁸ For in that He Himself has suffered being tempted, He is able to succor those that are tempted.

⁷ Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard because He feared;

⁸ He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: Whoever does not perform righteousness is not of God, neither is he that does not love his brother.

⁵ Who is he that overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: Behold, the devil shall throw some of you into prison, that you may be proven; and you shall have tribulation ten days: Be faithful to death, and I will give you a crown of life.

⁷ And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, ⁸ but did not prevail; neither was their place found any more in heaven. ⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come: For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to the death. ¹² Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time." ¹³ Then when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man Child.

¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

⁷ And it was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: And power was given to him over all tribes, and tongues, and nations.

¹ Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them the wrath of God is finished. ² And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: And those that had prevailed in victory over the beast, and over his image, over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. ³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are Your ways, You King of saints. ⁴ Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For only You are holy: For all nations shall come and worship before You; for Your judgments are made manifest." ⁵ And after that I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened: ⁶ And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their chests girded with golden girdles.

¹ And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a large chain in his hand. ² And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, ³ and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years are fulfilled: And after that he must be loosed for a little season.

⁷ And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, ⁸ and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: The number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

¹⁰ And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.

⁷ If you do well, shall you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And his desire shall be toward you, and you shall rule over him.

¹⁶ And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was only a little more way to go to Ephrath: And Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor. ¹⁷ And it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, "Fear not; you shall have this son also." ¹⁸ And it came to pass, as her soul was in a state of departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: But his father called him Benjamin.Benoni; that is, The son of my sorrowBenjamin; that is, The son of the right hand

⁷ and her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: Then her vows shall stand, and her bonds with which she bound her soul shall stand. ⁸ But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, with which she bound her soul, of none effect: And the LORD shall forgive her.

¹³ Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.

¹⁹ And his daughter-in-law, Phinehas' wife, was with child, almost to be delivered: And when she heard the report that the ark of God was taken, and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her. ²⁰ And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said to her, "Fear not, for you have borne a son." But she did not answer, neither did she regard it. ²¹ And she named the child Ichabod, saying, "The glory has departed from Israel": Because the ark of God had been taken, and because of her father-in-law and her husband.

²⁰ And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great), all the wives shall give to their husbands honor, both to great and small.

⁶ Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

⁸ And they shall be afraid: Pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travails: They shall be amazed at one another; their faces shall be as flames.

³ Therefore my loins are filled with pain: Pangs have taken hold of me, as the pangs of a woman that travails: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

¹⁷ Like a woman with child, that draws near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and cries out in her pangs; so have we been in Your sight, O LORD. ¹⁸ We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not worked any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

¹¹ He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: By His knowledge my righteous servant shall justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

³¹ For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that brings forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that mourns herself, that spreads her hands, saying, 'Woe is me now! For my soul is wearied because of murderers.' "

²⁴ We have heard the fame of it: Our hands wax feeble: Anguish has taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

²¹ What will you say when he shall punish you? For you have taught them to be captains, and as chief over you: Shall not sorrows take you, like a woman in travail?

²³ O inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how gracious shall you be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!

²⁴ Damascus is waxed feeble, and turns herself to flee, and fear has seized upon her: Anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.

⁹ Now why do you cry out aloud? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished? For pangs have taken you as a woman in travail. ¹⁰ Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: For now you shall go forth out of the city, and you shall dwell in the field, and you shall even go to Babylon; there you shall be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

²¹ When a woman is in labor she has sorrow, because her hour has come: But as soon as she has delivered the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a baby is born into the world.

⁴ The wife does not have power of her own body, but the husband does: And likewise also the husband does not have power of his own body, but the wife does.

³ But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

³⁴ Let your women keep silence in the churches: For it is not permitted to them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also the law says.

²² Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord. ²³ For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: And He is the Savior of the body. ²⁴ Therefore, as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

¹⁸ Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

³ For when they shall say, "Peace and safety"; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

¹¹ Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. ¹² But I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

¹⁵ Nevertheless she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness with sobriety.

⁵ to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God is not blasphemed.

¹ Likewise, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that if any do not obey the word, they may also without the word be won by the conversation of their wives; ² while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. ³ Whose adorning, let it not be that outward adornment of braiding the hair, and of wearing gold, or of putting on apparel; ⁴ but let it be the hidden woman of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value in the sight of God. ⁵ For in this manner, in old times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands: ⁶ Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: Whose daughters you are, as long as you do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

⁶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit, and ate, and also gave to her husband with her; and he ate.

¹¹ And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree which I commanded you that you should not eat?"

²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, "This one shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed."

⁶ Although affliction comes not forth of the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground; ⁷ yet man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

¹ Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.

¹⁷ How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! And how oft comes their destruction on them! God distributes sorrows in his anger.

⁷ For we are consumed by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are troubled. ⁸ You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance. ⁹ For all our days are passed away in Your wrath: We spend our years as a tale that is told.

² It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: For He gives His beloved sleep.

² "Vanity of vanities", says the Preacher, "Vanity of vanities; all is vanity." ³ What profit does a man have from all his labor in which he toils under the sun?

¹³ And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: This sore travail God has given to the sons of man to be exercised by it. ¹⁴ I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

¹¹ Then I looked on all the works that my hands had worked, and on the labor that I had labored to do: And behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

¹⁷ Therefore I hated life; because the work that is worked under the sun is grievous to me: For all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

²² For what has man from all his labor, and from the vexation of his heart, in which he has labored under the sun? ²³ For all his days are sorrows, and his labor grief; yes, his heart does not take rest in the night. This also is vanity.

¹⁷ He also eats in darkness all his days, and he has much sorrow and wrath with his sickness.

⁵ The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. ⁶ Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those that dwell in it are desolate: Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.

²³ But this thing I commanded them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people: And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well to you. ²⁴ But they did not listen, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

¹² And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not having a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.

²⁶ His lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed: ²⁷ Therefore you ought to have put my money with the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.

⁴⁵ Then He shall answer them, saying, 'Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'

²² And he said to him, 'Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, taking up that which I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow:

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it says to those who are under the law: That every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

²⁰ For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of Him who has subjected the same in hope, ²¹ because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. ²² For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

¹³ Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.

²¹ and said, "Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

⁵ Whose harvest the hungry eats up, and takes it even out of the thorns, and the robber swallows up their substance.

⁴⁰ Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.

³ You turn man to destruction, and say, "Return, you children of men."

² Who covers Yourself with light as with a garment: Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain:

¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the domestic beasts, and herbs for the service of man: That he may bring forth food out of the earth; ¹⁵ and wine that makes glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man's heart.

⁵ Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: He that keeps his soul shall be far from them.

³¹ and, look, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face of it, and its stone wall was broken down.

⁶ And I will lay it waste: It shall not be pruned, nor dug; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.

²³ And it shall come to pass in that day, that where there were a thousand vines worth a thousand sliver coins, it shall even be that every place is for briers and thorns.

¹³ On the land of my people thorns and briers shall come up; yes, on all the houses of joy in the joyous city:

³ For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, "Break up your fallow ground, and do not sow among thorns.

¹³ They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: They have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: And they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD."

⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

² For one believes that he may eat all things: Another, who is weak, eats herbs.

⁸ But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is near to being cursed; whose end is to be burned.

⁷ And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, "Behold now, I have taken upon myself to speak to the LORD, who am but dust and ashes:

⁴ "I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: Give me a possession of a burial site with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight."

¹³ If I wait, the grave is my house: I have made my bed in the darkness. ¹⁴ I have said to corruption, You are my father: To the worm, You are my mother, and my sister. ¹⁵ And where is now my hope? As for my hope, who shall see it? ¹⁶ They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.

²⁶ And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

²⁶ They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.

¹⁵ all flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again to dust.

¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a broken clay pot fragment; and My tongue sticks to My jaws; and you have brought Me into the dust of death.

²⁹ All those that are fat upon earth shall eat and worship: All those that go down to the dust shall bow before Him: And none can keep alive his own soul.

¹⁴ For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

²⁹ You hide Your face, they are troubled: You take away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

¹⁶ The man that wanders out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

³ What profit does a man have from all his labor in which he toils under the sun?

¹³ And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: This sore travail God has given to the sons of man to be exercised by it.

²⁰ All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

¹⁵ As he came forth from his mother's womb, naked shall he return, to go as he came, and shall take nothing from his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.

⁷ Then the dust shall return to the earth as it was: And the spirit shall return to God who gave it.

² And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

¹² Therefore, just as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned: ¹³ (For until the law sin was in the world: But sin is not imputed when there is no law. ¹⁴ Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is a type of Him that was to come. ¹⁵ But the free gift is not also as the offense. For if through the offense of one many are dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one Man, Jesus Christ, has abounded to many. ¹⁶ And the gift is not as though it came by one that sinned: For the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses to justification. ¹⁷ For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.) ¹⁸ Therefore, as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of One the free gift came upon all men to justification of life. ¹⁹ For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One many shall be made righteous. ²⁰ Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: ²¹ That as sin has reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

²¹ For since by man death came, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. ²² For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

²⁸ Let him that stole steal no more: But rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.

⁹ For you remember, brethren, our labor and travail: For laboring night and day, because we would not impose upon any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: That if anyone would not work, neither should he eat.

²³ And Adam said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."

¹¹ And the angel of the LORD said to her, "Behold, you are with child and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Ishmael; because the LORD has heard your affliction.

³² And Leah conceived, and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben: For she said, "Surely the LORD has looked upon my affliction; therefore now my husband will love me."Reuben; that is, See a son ³³ And she conceived again, and bore a son; and said, "Because the LORD has heard that I was hated, He has therefore given me this son also": And she called his name Simeon.Simeon; that is, Hearing ³⁴ And she conceived again, and bore a son; and said, "Now this time my husband will be joined to me, because I have borne him three sons": Therefore his name was called Levi.Levi; that is, Joined ³⁵ And she conceived again, and bore a son: And she said, "Now I will praise the LORD": Therefore she called his name Judah; and ceased bearing.Judah; that is, Praise

¹⁸ And it came to pass, as her soul was in a state of departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: But his father called him Benjamin.Benoni; that is, The son of my sorrowBenjamin; that is, The son of the right hand

¹⁰ And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: And she said, "Because I drew him out of the water."

²⁰ Therefore it came to pass, when the time had come around after Hannah had conceived, that she bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, "Because I have asked him of the LORD." ²¹ And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS: For He shall save His people from their sins."

²⁶ and He has made from one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the pre-appointed times, and the bounds of their habitation;

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

²² even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and upon all those who believe: For there is no difference:

² For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: ³ If as should be that we being clothed shall not be found naked.

²¹ For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

²⁶ And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the domestic beasts, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth."

⁹ And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree to grow that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; also the tree of life in the middle of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

⁶ And the LORD said, "Behold, the people are one, and they all have one language; and this is what they begin to do: And now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. ⁷ Come, let us go down, and in that place confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."

²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied: They shall praise the LORD that seek Him: Your heart shall live forever.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those that lay hold upon her: And happy is everyone that retains her.

¹² Where are they? Where are your wise men? And let them tell you now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts has purposed on Egypt. ¹³ The princes of Zoan have become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even those who are the support of its tribes.

¹² Stand now with your enchantments, and with the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth; if so perhaps you shall be able to profit, if so perhaps you may prevail. ¹³ You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save you from these things that shall come on you.

⁴⁸ I am the bread of life. ⁴⁹ Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. ⁵⁰ This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it, and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down from heaven: If any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever: And the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." ⁵² The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?" ⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you. ⁵⁴ Whoever eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. ⁵⁶ He who eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, dwells in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father has sent Me, and I live by the Father: So he who eats Me, even he shall live by Me. ⁵⁸ This is that bread which came down from heaven: Not as your fathers ate manna, and are dead: He who eats of this bread shall live forever."

⁷ "He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; to him that overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." '

² In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, there was the tree of life, which bore twelve kinds of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

¹⁴ Blessed are those that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

⁵ and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: For the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

¹⁹ in the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, until you return to the ground; for out of it you were taken: For dust you are, and to dust you shall return."

² And she bore again, his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

¹² when you till the ground, it shall not yield her strength to you from now on; a fugitive and a vagabond you shall be in the earth."

²⁰ And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard:

⁹ Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: The king himself is served by the field.

⁸ And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and He put the man whom He had formed there. ⁹ And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree to grow that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; also the tree of life in the middle of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

² "Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering: From every man that gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering.bring Me: In Hebrew, take for Me

¹⁸ And you shall make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work you shall make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. ¹⁹ And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: Even from the mercy seat you shall make the cherubims on the two ends of it. ²⁰ And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look to one another; the faces of the cherubims shall be toward the mercy seat. ²¹ And you shall put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. ²² And there I will meet with you, and I will commune with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.

²³ And the donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: And the donkey turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: And Balaam smote the donkey, to turn her into the way.

¹³ And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there stood a man in front of him with his sword drawn in his hand: And Joshua went to him, and said to him, "Are you for us, or for our adversaries?

⁴ So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts from there, which dwells between the cherubims: And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

²⁵ And the other cherub was ten cubits: Both the cherubims were of one measure and one size. ²⁶ The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub. ²⁷ And he set the cherubims within the inner house: And they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the middle of the house. ²⁸ And he overlaid the cherubims with gold. ²⁹ And he carved all the walls of the house all around with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, inside and outside. ³⁰ And the floors of the house he overlaid with gold, inside and outside. ³¹ And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: The lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall. ³² The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved on them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold on the cherubims, and on the palm trees. ³³ So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall. ³⁴ And the two doors were of fir tree: The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding. ³⁵ And he carved on it cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: And covered them with gold fitted on the carved work.

¹⁶ And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand outstretched over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces. ¹⁷ And David said to God, "Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? Even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? Let your hand, I implore you, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on your people, that they should be plagued.

¹ To the chief Musician upon Shoshannimeduth, A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You that lead Joseph like a flock; You that dwell between the cherubims, shine forth.

¹ The LORD reigns; let the people tremble: He sits between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.

⁴ Who makes His angels spirits; His ministers a flaming fire:

² And He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, "Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill your hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city." And he entered in my sight. ³ Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court. ⁴ Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory. ⁵ And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when He speaks. ⁶ And it came to pass, that when He had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, "Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubim"; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels. ⁷ And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims to the fire that was between the cherubims, and took of it, and put it into the hands of him who was clothed with linen: Who took it, and went out. ⁸ And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man's hand under their wings. ⁹ And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: And the appearance of the wheels was as the color of a beryl stone. ¹⁰ And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the middle of a wheel. ¹¹ When they went, they went on their four sides; they did not turn as they went, but to the place where the head looked they followed it; they did not turn as they went. ¹² And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes all around, even the wheels that they four had. ¹³ As for the wheels, it was cried out to them in my hearing, "O wheel." ¹⁴ And every one had four faces: The first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. ¹⁵ And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar. ¹⁶ And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: And when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also did not turn from beside them. ¹⁷ When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted themselves up also: For the spirit of the living creature was in them. ¹⁸ Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims. ¹⁹ And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: When they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over above them. ²⁰ This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims. ²¹ Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. ²² And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: Every one went straight forward.

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man comes to the Father, except by Me.

⁷ And of the angels He says, "Who makes His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire."

¹⁸ Now where there is remission of these, there is no more offering for sin. ¹⁹ Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and living way, which He has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh; ²¹ and having a High Priest over the house of God; ²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
