³ And the LORD said, "My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years."

¹⁷ And I will come down and talk with you there: And I will take of the spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you bear it not yourself alone.

³⁰ Yet many years did you forbear them, and testified against them by your spirit in your prophets: Yet would they not give ear: Therefore gave you them into the hand of the people of the lands.

³⁹ For He remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passes away, and does not come again.

⁴ What more could have been done to My vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I expected that it should bring forth grapes, it brought forth wild grapes?

¹⁰ But they rebelled, and vexed His holy Spirit: Therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.

⁷ For I earnestly protested to your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even to this day, rising early and protesting, saying, "Obey my voice."

¹¹ Therefore thus says the LORD, "Behold, I will bring evil on them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry to Me, I will not listen to them.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

⁵¹ "You stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit: As your fathers did, so you do.

¹ There is therefore now no condemnation to those which are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit. ² For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. ³ For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: ⁴ That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit. ⁵ For those that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but those that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. ⁶ For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. ⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: For it is not subject to the law of God, indeed neither can be. ⁸ So then, those that are in the flesh cannot please God. ⁹ But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if as should be the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. ¹⁰ And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. ¹¹ But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also vivify your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you. ¹² Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. ¹³ For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: But if you through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live.

¹⁶ This I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: And these are contrary to one another; so that you cannot do the things that you would like. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are apparent, which are these: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, ²⁰ idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, as I have also told you in time past, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, temperance: Against such there is no law. ²⁴ And those that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

¹⁹ Do not quench the Spirit.

¹⁸ For Christ also has suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit: ¹⁹ By which also He went and preached to the spirits in prison; ²⁰ which in time past were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is eight souls, were saved by water.

¹⁴ And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these people, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, ¹⁵ to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed with ungodly living, and of all their fierce speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."
