¹ In the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by the prophet Haggai, saying, ² "Now speak to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying, ³ 'Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? And how do you see it now? Is it not in your eyes but nothing in comparison to before? ⁴ Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel,' says the LORD; 'and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land', says the LORD, 'and work: For I am with you', says the LORD of hosts: ⁵ 'According to the word that I covenanted with you when all of you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you: Fear not.' ⁶ For thus says the LORD of hosts; 'Still once, it is yet a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; ⁷ and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: And I will fill this house with glory', says the LORD of hosts. ⁸ 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine', says the LORD of hosts. ⁹ 'The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former', says the LORD of hosts: 'And in this place I will give peace', says the LORD of hosts." ¹⁰ In the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, ¹¹ "Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'Now ask the priests concerning the law, saying, ¹² "If one carries holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt touches bread, or soup, or wine, or oil, or any food, shall it be holy?" ' " And the priests answered and said, "No."soup: In KJV, pottage ¹³ Then Haggai said, "If one that is unclean by a dead body touches any of these, shall it be unclean?" And the priests answered and said, "It shall be unclean." ¹⁴ Then Haggai answered, and said, " 'So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,' says the LORD; 'and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean. ¹⁵ And now, I implore you, consider from this day onward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD: ¹⁶ Ever since those days, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but only ten: When one came to the fat-press to draw out fifty vessels from the press, there were but only twenty.20 measures was equivalent to 9 gallons, 3 quarts; or approximately 36.9 liters ¹⁷ I smote you with blasting, and with mildew, and with hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you all have not turned to Me', says the LORD. ¹⁸ 'Now consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider it. ¹⁹ Is the seed still in the barn? Yes, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not brought forth: From this day forward I will bless you.' " ²⁰ And again the word of the LORD came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying, ²¹ "Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, 'I will shake the heavens and the earth; ²² and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother. ²³ In that day', says the LORD of hosts, 'I will take you, O Zerubbabel, My servant, the son of Shealtiel,' says the LORD, 'and will make you as a signet: For I have chosen you', says the LORD of hosts."

¹ In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,

¹⁵ on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

¹⁰ In the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying,

²⁰ And again the word of the LORD came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,

²¹ For in old times the prophecy did not come by the will of man: But holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

⁸ even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.

⁶³ And the Tirshatha said to them, "that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

⁹ And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said to all the people, This day is holy to the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.

¹⁴ And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

¹² But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:

²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: But they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things in that place: Therefore have I set it far from them.

⁹ 'The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former', says the LORD of hosts: 'And in this place I will give peace', says the LORD of hosts."

⁹ "The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it"; and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. ¹⁰ "For who has despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth."

⁵ Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and gifts, He said, ⁶ "As for these things which you behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

¹² And He said, "Certainly I will be with you; and this shall be a token sign to you, that I have sent you: When you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God upon this mountain."

²³ And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, "Be strong and of a good courage: For you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them: And I will be with you.

⁶ Be strong and of a good courage: For to this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them.

⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

¹⁸ And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: For it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of those that oppressed them and vexed them.

¹⁸ Then one of the servants answered, and said, "Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a handsome person, and the LORD is with him."

¹⁰ And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

¹³ Then you shall prosper, if you take heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: Be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

²⁰ And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: Fear not, nor be dismayed: For the LORD God, even my God, will be with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

¹³ Then the LORD's messenger Haggai spoke the LORD's message to the people, saying, " 'I am with you', says the LORD."

⁹ Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'Let your hands be strong, all you that hear these words by the mouth of the prophets in these days, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

²⁰ And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

⁹ "And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: But God was with him,

¹³ Watch, stand fast in the faith, carry through like men, be strong.

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

¹ You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that the preaching by me might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁴⁵ And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. ⁴⁶ And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God."

¹² And Moses said to the LORD, "See, You say to me, 'Bring up this people': And You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.' ¹³ Now therefore, I implore You, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You, that I may find grace in Your sight: And consider that this nation is Your people." ¹⁴ And He said, "My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest."

⁸ And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.

¹⁰ And he said, "Behold, I make a covenant: Before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: And all the people among which you are shall see the work of the LORD: For it is a frightful thing that I will do with you.

²⁵ And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the spirit that was on him, and gave it to the seventy elders: And it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested on them, they prophesied, and did not cease. ²⁶ But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: And the spirit rested on them; and they were of those that were written, but went not out to the tabernacle: And they prophesied in the camp. ²⁷ And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, "Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp. ²⁸ And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, "My lord Moses, forbid them. ²⁹ And Moses said to him, "Envy you for my sake? Would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit on them!

¹ And the LORD said to Joshua, "Fear not, neither be you dismayed: Take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai: See, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:

¹⁷ You shall not need to fight in this battle: Set yourselves, stand you still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: Fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: For the LORD will be with you.

²⁰ You gave also your good spirit to instruct them, and withheld not your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst.

³⁰ Yet many years did you forbear them, and testified against them by your spirit in your prophets: Yet would they not give ear: Therefore gave you them into the hand of the people of the lands.

¹¹ Do not cast me away from Your presence; and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. ¹² Restore to me the joy of Your salvation; and uphold me with Your free spirit.

¹⁰ Fear not; for I am with you: Be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.'

¹³ For I the LORD your God will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not; I will help you.

¹¹ Then He remembered the days of old, Moses, and His people, saying, "Where is He that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of His flock? Where is He that put His holy Spirit within him? ¹² That led them by the right hand of Moses with His glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting name? ¹³ That led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?" ¹⁴ As a beast goes down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: So You lead Your people, to make Yourself a glorious name.

⁶ Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit', says the LORD of hosts.

¹³ And it shall come to pass, that as you all were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; to that degree I will save you, and all of you shall be a blessing: Fear not, but let your hands be strong.'

¹⁵ So again I have thought in these days to do well to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: Fear not, all of you.

⁵ And the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not fear: For I know that you seek Jesus, which was crucified.

¹⁶ And I will beseech the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever; ¹⁷ even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him, nor know Him: But you know Him; for He dwells with you, and shall be in you.

²⁴ saying, 'Fear not, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar: And look, God has given you all those who sail with you.'

¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. Then He laid His right hand upon me, saying to me, "Do not fear; I am the First and the Last:

¹⁰ For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: Yes, you shall diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

²⁵ For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and My anger in their destruction.

¹⁷ Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?

⁴ And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and heaven shall be rolled together as a scroll: And all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falls off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

²³ I beheld the earth, and lo, it was without form, and void; and heaven, and they had no light. ²⁴ I beheld the mountains, and lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. ²⁵ I beheld, and lo, there was no man, and all the birds of heaven had fled. ²⁶ I beheld, and lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by His fierce anger.

³³ For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; "The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor, it is time to thresh her: Yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.

²⁰ so that the fish of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the wild beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at My presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.'

³⁰ And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD comes. ³² And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, "and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call."

¹⁶ The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: But the LORD will be the hope of His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

²¹ "Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, 'I will shake the heavens and the earth; ²² and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.

²⁹ Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: ³⁰ And then the sign of the Son of Man shall appear in heaven: And then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

²⁴ But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, ²⁵ and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. ²⁶ And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; ²⁶ men's hearts failing them from fear, and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth: For the powers of heaven shall be shaken. ²⁷ And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

¹⁹ And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke:

³⁷ For "Yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

²⁶ Whose voice then shook the earth: But now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." ²⁷ Now this phrase, "Yet once more", signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, likewise of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. ²⁸ Therefore, we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

² And I saw, and behold a white horse: And he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given to him: And he went forth conquering, and to conquer. ³ And when He had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, "Come and see." ⁴ And another horse went out that was red: And power was given to him that sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: And there was given to him a great sword. ⁵ And when He had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, "Come and see." And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. ⁶ And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, "A measure of wheat for a silver coin, and three measures of barley for a silver coin; and see you do not harm the oil and the wine."A measure: The word choenix signifies a measure containing 1 & 1/12'th wine quarts ⁷ And when He had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, "Come and see." ⁸ Then I looked, and behold a pale horse: And his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given to them over a quarter of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the wild beasts of the earth. ⁹ And when He had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those that were slain for the Word of God, and for the testimony which they held: ¹⁰ And they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You not judge and avenge our blood on those that dwell on the earth?" ¹¹ And white robes were given to every one of them; and it was said to them that they should rest for yet a little season, until their fellow-servants and their brethren, that shall also be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. ¹² And I beheld when He opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; ¹³ and the stars of heaven fell to the earth, even as a fig tree casts out her untimely figs, when she is shaken by a mighty wind. ¹⁴ And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. ¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; ¹⁶ and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: ¹⁷ For the great day of His wrath has come; and who shall be able to stand?"

⁵ And the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and cast it into the earth: And there were voices, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. ⁶ And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. ⁷ The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: And a third of the trees were burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. ⁸ Then the second angel sounded, and with all speed a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: And one third of the sea became blood; ⁹ and a third of the creatures in the sea which had life died; and a third of the ships were destroyed. ¹⁰ Then the third angel sounded, and a large star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell upon a third of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; ¹¹ and the name of the star is called Wormwood: And a third of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter. ¹² Then the fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun was smitten, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars; so that a third of them were darkened, and the day did not shine for a third of it, and likewise the night.

⁹ And those of the people, tribes, tongues, and nations shall see their dead bodies three and a half days, and shall not let their dead bodies to be put in graves.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel."

¹⁸ and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed My voice.' "

¹⁰ The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and the gathering of the people shall be to Him.Shiloh is a by-name for The Messiah

³⁴ Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

¹¹ so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: For the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

¹ To the chief Musician upon Shoshannimeduth, A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You that lead Joseph like a flock; You that dwell between the cherubims, shine forth.

⁷ All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you: They shall come up on My altar with acceptance, and I will glorify the house of My glory.

²⁷ I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: And it shall be no more, until He come whose right it is; and I will give it Him." '

⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. ⁴⁵ In as much as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass in time to come: And the dream is certain, and the interpretation of it sure."

²⁰ and of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. ²¹ I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; ²² until the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. ²³ Thus he said, 'The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. ²⁴ And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: And another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. ²⁵ And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

⁹ Proclaim this among the Gentiles; "Prepare war", wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: ¹⁰ Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: Let the weak say, "I am strong." ¹¹ Assemble yourselves, and come, all you heathen, and gather yourselves together all around: Cause Your mighty ones to come down to that place, O LORD. ¹² Let the heathen be awakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: For there I will sit to judge all the heathen compassed around. ¹³ Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: Come, get down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great. ¹⁴ Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. ¹⁵ The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. ¹⁶ The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: But the LORD will be the hope of His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: Behold, your King comes to you: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt, the foal of a donkey. ¹⁰ And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: And He shall speak peace to the heathen: And His dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.

¹ "Behold, I will send My messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me: And the Lord, Whom all of you seek, shall suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, Whom you all delight in: Behold, He shall come", says the LORD of hosts.

¹⁰ Then the angel said to them, "Do not fear: For behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ¹¹ For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

²⁷ And he came by the Spirit into the temple: And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him after the custom of the law,

⁴⁶ And it came to pass, that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors of the law, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

⁴⁷ And He taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the chief of the people sought to destroy Him,

¹ And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon Him with the elders,

¹⁰ Then He said to them, "Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: ¹¹ And great earthquakes shall be in diverse places, and famines, and pestilences; and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.

³⁸ Then early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple, to hear Him.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.

¹³ Then the Jews' Passover was at hand; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, ¹⁴ and found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting: ¹⁵ And when He had made a lash of small cords, He drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; ¹⁶ and He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things from this place; do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise." ¹⁷ And His disciples remembered that it was written, "The zeal for Your house has eaten Me up."

³⁷ On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If any man thirsts, let him come to Me, and drink. ³⁸ He who believes in Me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." ³⁹ (But this He spoke about the Spirit, which those who believe in Him should receive: For the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

²³ And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch. ²⁴ Then the Jews came all around Him, and said to Him, "How long do You make us doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly." ²⁵ Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you did not believe: The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me. ²⁶ But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. ²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: ²⁸ And I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. ²⁹ My Father, which gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. ³⁰ I and My Father are one." ³¹ Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. ³² Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father; for which of those works do you stone Me?" ³³ The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God." ³⁴ Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods" '? ³⁵ If He called them gods, to whom the Word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; ³⁶ do you say of Him, whom the Father has sanctified, and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming'; because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? ³⁷ If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me. ³⁸ But if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works: That you may know, and believe, that the Father is in Me, and I in Him."

⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name." ¹⁰ And again he said, "Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people." ¹¹ And again, "Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles; and laud Him, all you people." ¹² And again, Isaiah said, "There shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in Him shall the Gentiles trust." ¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit. ¹⁴ And I myself am also persuaded concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. ¹⁵ Nevertheless, brethren, I have written more boldly to you in some respects, as a reminder to you, because of the grace that is given to me by God,

⁸ And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you shall all nations be blessed."

⁹ For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

²⁰ And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in its height: And he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar. ²¹ So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: And he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold. ²² And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: Also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold. ²³ And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high. ²⁴ And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: From the uttermost part of the one wing to the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits. ²⁵ And the other cherub was ten cubits: Both the cherubims were of one measure and one size. ²⁶ The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub. ²⁷ And he set the cherubims within the inner house: And they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the middle of the house. ²⁸ And he overlaid the cherubims with gold. ²⁹ And he carved all the walls of the house all around with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, inside and outside. ³⁰ And the floors of the house he overlaid with gold, inside and outside. ³¹ And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: The lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall. ³² The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved on them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold on the cherubims, and on the palm trees. ³³ So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall. ³⁴ And the two doors were of fir tree: The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding. ³⁵ And he carved on it cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: And covered them with gold fitted on the carved work.

¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of you, and of your own have we given you. ¹⁵ For we are strangers before you, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. ¹⁶ O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes of your hand, and is all your own.

¹ A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD's, and its fullness; the world, and those that dwell in it.

¹⁰ For every wild beast of the forest is mine, and the domestic beasts upon a thousand hills. ¹¹ I know all the fowls of the mountains: And the wild beasts of the field are mine. ¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell you: For the world is Mine, and its fullness.

¹³ The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of My sanctuary; and I will make the place of My feet glorious.

¹⁷ For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood, brass, and for stones, iron: I will also appoint peace as your officers, and righteousness as your exactors.

⁷ Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. ⁸ Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. ⁹ Lift up your heads, O you gates; even lift them up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. ¹⁰ Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.

⁸ I will hear what God the LORD will speak: For He will speak peace to His people, and to His saints: But let them not turn again to folly. ⁹ Surely His salvation is near to those that fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.

⁶ For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given: And the government shall be upon His shoulder: And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

¹⁸ I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners. ¹⁹ "I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him who is far off, and to him who is near", said the LORD; "and I will heal him." ²⁰ But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. ²¹ "There is no peace", said my God, "for the wicked."

⁵ And this Man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: And when he shall tread in our palaces, then we shall raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.principal: In Hebrew, princes of

¹⁴ "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you: Not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

³⁶ The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (He is Lord of all):

⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation is glory, much more does the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. ¹⁰ For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excels.

¹⁴ For He is our peace, who has made both [Jew and Gentile] one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation between us; ¹⁵ having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; so as to make in Himself from two one new man, thus making peace; ¹⁶ and that He might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having thereby slain the enmity: ¹⁷ And came and preached peace to you who were afar off, and to those that were near.

¹⁹ For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell; ²⁰ and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things to Himself; by Him, I say, whether they are things on earth, or things in heaven. ²¹ And you, who were sometimes alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled

¹⁶ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen among angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

¹ My brethren, do not have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, also with reverence of persons.

¹⁵ on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

¹⁰ And that you may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; ¹¹ and that you may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD has spoken to them by the hand of Moses.

⁸ If there arise a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates: Then you shall arise, and get you up into the place which the LORD your God shall choose; ⁹ and you shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge that shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall show you the sentence of judgment: ¹⁰ And you shall do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall show you; and you shall observe to do according to all that they inform you: ¹¹ According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do: You shall not decline from the sentence which they shall show you, to the right hand side, nor to the left.

¹⁰ They shall teach Jacob your judgments, and Israel your law: They shall put incense before you, and whole burnt sacrifice on your altar.

²³ And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. ²⁴ And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to My judgments: And they shall keep My laws and My statutes in all My assemblies; and they shall hallow My Sabbaths.

⁷ For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: For he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

⁹ holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the deniers.

³⁷ Seven days you shall make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be a most holy altar: Whatever touches the altar shall be holy.

²⁷ Whatever shall touch its flesh shall be holy: And when there is some of its blood sprinkled upon any garment, you shall wash that upon which it was sprinkled in the holy place.

²⁹ All the males among the priests shall eat of it: It is most holy.

⁶ Every male among the priests shall eat of it: It shall be eaten in the holy place: It is most holy.

¹⁹ And when they go forth into the outermost court, even into the outermost court to the people, they shall put off their garments in which they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers, and they shall put on other garments; and they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.

¹⁹ You fools and blind: For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift?

⁴ What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or has a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoever touches anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goes from him; ⁵ or whoever touches any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatever uncleanness he has; ⁶ the soul which has touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.

² command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and everyone that has an issue, and whoever is defiled by the dead: ³ Both male and female shall you put out, outside the camp shall you put them; that they defile not their camps, in the middle whereof I dwell.

⁶ And there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the Passover on that day: And they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day: ⁷ And those men said to him, "We are defiled by the dead body of a man: Why are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel? ⁸ And Moses said to them, "Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you. ⁹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁰ speak to the children of Israel, saying, "If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the Passover to the LORD.

¹¹ He that touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days. ¹² He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: But if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean. ¹³ Whoever touches the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifies not himself, defiles the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: Because the water of separation was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet on him. ¹⁴ This is the law, when a man dies in a tent: All that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days. ¹⁵ And every open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean. ¹⁶ And whoever touches one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days. ¹⁷ And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel: ¹⁸ And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, and on all the vessels, and on the persons that were there, and on him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave: ¹⁹ And the clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: And on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at sunset. ²⁰ But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he has defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: The water of separation has not been sprinkled on him; he is unclean. ²¹ And it shall be a perpetual statute to them, that he that sprinkles the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that touches the water of separation shall be unclean until even. ²² And whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the soul that touches it shall be unclean until even.

² Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God. ³ And they set the altar on his bases; for fear was on them because of the people of those countries: And they offered burnt offerings on it to the LORD, even burnt offerings morning and evening.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: But the prayer of the upright is His delight.

⁴ A high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

²⁷ The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: How much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind?

⁹ He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

¹¹ "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?" said the LORD: "I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of he-goats. ¹² When you come to appear before Me, who has required this at your hand, to tread My courts? ¹³ Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination to Me; the new moons and Sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away endure; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. ¹⁴ My soul hates your new moons and your appointed feasts: They are a trouble to me; I am weary to bear them. ¹⁵ And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear: Your hands are full of blood.

⁴ "Is it time for you, O you all, to dwell in your paneled houses, and this house lie in waste?" ⁵ Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; "Consider your ways. ⁶ You all have sown much, and bring in little; all you eat, but you all do not have enough; all you drink, but you all are not filled with drink; all you clothe yourselves, but there are none warm; and he that earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes." ⁷ Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Consider your ways. ⁸ Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified", says the LORD. ⁹ "You all looked for much, and lo, it came to little; and when you all brought it home, I blew upon it. Why?" says the LORD of hosts. "Because of My house that is in waste, and all of you, every man, runs to his own house. ¹⁰ Therefore the heaven over you is kept back from dew, and the earth is kept back from her fruit. ¹¹ And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the grain, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon men, and upon domestic beasts, and upon all the labor of the hands."

¹⁵ To the pure all things are pure: But to those that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.

²³ And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

¹⁰ And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.

²⁴ Then ceased the work of the house of God which is at Jerusalem. So it ceased to the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

⁴³ Whoever is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

¹² And the harp, and the viol, the tambourine, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: But they do not regard the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of His hands.

⁹ Who is wise? He shall understand these things. Who is prudent? He shall know them. For the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: But the transgressors shall stumble and fall in them.

⁵ Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; "Consider your ways.

⁷ Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Consider your ways.

¹⁸ 'Now consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider it.

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet you all have robbed Me. But you all say, 'In what have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. ⁹ You all are cursed with a curse: For you all have robbed Me, even this whole nation. ¹⁰ Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, all of you, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now with this", says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open to you the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing upon you, such that there shall not be room enough to receive it. ¹¹ And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the harvest time in the field", says the LORD of hosts.

²¹ What fruit did you have then in those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

³¹ For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

⁹ Honor the LORD with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase: ¹⁰ So shall your barns be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst out with new wine.

⁶ You all have sown much, and bring in little; all you eat, but you all do not have enough; all you drink, but you all are not filled with drink; all you clothe yourselves, but there are none warm; and he that earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes."

¹⁰ For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: For I set all men, every one, against his neighbor. ¹¹ But now I will not be to the residue of this people as in the former days', says the LORD of hosts. ¹² 'For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.

² If you all will not hear, and if you all will not lay it to heart, to give glory to My name", says the LORD of hosts, "I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: Yes, I have cursed them already, because you all do not lay it to heart.

⁶ And Joseph was the governor over the land, and it was he that sold to all the people of the land: And Joseph's brothers came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.

²³ And they did not know that Joseph understood them; for he spoke to them by an interpreter.

²⁷ And as one of them opened his sack to give his donkey dry meal at the inn, he saw his money; for behold, it was in his sack's mouth.

¹⁸ Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Egypt since its foundation even until now. ¹⁹ Therefore send forth now, and gather your domestic beasts, and all that you have in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die." ' " ²⁰ He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his domestic beasts flee into the houses: ²¹ And he that did not regard the word of the LORD left his servants and his domestic beasts in the field. ²² And the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch forth your hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt." ²³ And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: And the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt. ²⁴ So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such that there has been none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. ²⁵ And the hail smote all that was in the field throughout all the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field. ²⁶ Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail. ²⁷ And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, "I have sinned this time: The LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. ²⁸ Entreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer." ²⁹ And Moses said to him, "As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know how that the earth is the LORD's.

²² The LORD shall smite you with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue you until you perish.

³⁷ If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there be;

²⁸ If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillars; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatever sore or whatever sickness there be:

²² And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: This is that king Ahaz.

¹³ But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: They cry not when he binds them.

⁴⁶ He also gave their increase to the caterpillar, and their labor to the locust.

¹³ For the people do not turn to Him that smites them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.

² Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

²⁷ Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: They were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as grain blasted before it is grown up.

²⁵ Therefore He has poured on him the fury of His anger, and the strength of battle: And it has set him on fire all around, yet he did not know it; and it burned him, yet he did not take it to heart.

⁸ The LORD has sworn by His right hand, and by the arm of His strength, "Surely I will no more give your grain to be meat for your enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink your wine, for which you have labored:

²⁴ For shame has devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.

³ O LORD, are not your eyes upon the truth? You have stricken them, but they have not grieved; You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: They have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

¹⁶ Thus says the LORD, "All of you stand in the roads, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.' ¹⁷ Also I set watchmen over you, saying, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet.' But they said, 'We will not listen.'

⁴ Moreover you shall say to them, "Thus says the LORD; 'Shall they fall, and not arise? Shall he turn away, and not return?' ⁵ Why then is this people of Jerusalem slid back by a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. ⁶ I listened and heard, but they did not speak aright: No man repented of his wickedness, saying, 'What have I done?' Everyone turned to his course, as the horse rushes into the battle. ⁷ Yes, the stork in heaven knows her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but My people do not know the judgment of the LORD.

⁹ Strangers have devoured his strength, and he does not know it: Yes, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knows it not. ¹⁰ And the pride of Israel testifies to his face: And they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek Him on account of all this.

⁶ "And I have also given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and a want of bread in all your places: Yet you have not returned to Me", says the LORD.

⁸ So two or three cities wandered to one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: Yet you have not returned to Me", says the LORD. ⁹ "I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: When your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: Yet you have not returned to Me", says the LORD. ¹⁰ "I have sent the pestilence among you after the manner of Egypt: I have slain your young men with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up to your nostrils: Yet you have not returned to Me", says the LORD.after the manner; or, in the way ¹¹ "I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: Yet you have not returned to Me", says the LORD.

⁹ "You all looked for much, and lo, it came to little; and when you all brought it home, I blew upon it. Why?" says the LORD of hosts. "Because of My house that is in waste, and all of you, every man, runs to his own house.

¹¹ And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the grain, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon men, and upon domestic beasts, and upon all the labor of the hands."

² "The LORD has been severely displeased with your fathers. ³ Therefore say you to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Turn to Me", says the LORD of hosts, "and I will turn to you", says the LORD of hosts. ⁴ "Do not be as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have cried out, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts; "Turn now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings, all of you" ': But they did not hear, nor hearken to Me", says the LORD.

⁹ "Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, 'Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions, every man to his brother: ¹⁰ And do not oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.' ¹¹ But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. ¹² Yes, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts has sent in His Spirit by the former prophets: Therefore a great wrath came from the LORD of hosts. ¹³ Therefore it has come to pass, that as He cried out, and they would not hear; so they cried out, and I would not hear", says the LORD of hosts:

²¹ And I gave her time to repent of her fornication; and she did not repent.

²⁰ And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues yet did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: Which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk: ²¹ Neither did they repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

²⁹ O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

¹ Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, even to them. ² Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: And with them were the prophets of God helping them.

¹⁴ And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God, ¹⁵ on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

¹⁵ And now, I implore you, consider from this day onward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:

¹² 'For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.

¹⁷ And when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have enough bread with some to spare, yet I perish with hunger! ¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you, ¹⁹ and am no longer worthy to be called your son: Make me as one of your hired servants." ' ²⁰ And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was still a long way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

¹² Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold: And the LORD blessed him.

³ If you walk in My statutes, and keep My commandments, and do them; ⁴ then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. ⁵ And your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time: And you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. ⁶ And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: And I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. ⁷ And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. ⁸ And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: And your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. ⁹ For I will have respect to you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish My covenant with you. ¹⁰ And you shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new. ¹¹ And I set my tabernacle among you: And my soul shall not abhor you. ¹² And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you shall be My people. ¹³ I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their servants; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

¹⁰ You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him: Because that for this thing the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to.

² And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken to the voice of the LORD your God. ³ Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. ⁴ Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your domestic beasts, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep. ⁵ Blessed shall be your basket and your store. ⁶ Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. ⁷ The LORD shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be smitten before your face: They shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. ⁸ The LORD shall command the blessing on you in your storehouses, and in all that you set your hand to; and he shall bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you. ⁹ The LORD shall establish you a holy people to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and walk in his ways. ¹⁰ And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of you. ¹¹ And the LORD shall make you plenteous in goods, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your domestic beasts, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. ¹² The LORD shall open to you his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain to your land in his season, and to bless all the work of your hand: And you shall lend to many nations, and you shall not borrow. ¹³ And the LORD shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath; if that you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day, to observe and to do them: ¹⁴ And you shall not go aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand side, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them. ¹⁵ But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come on you, and overtake you:

¹² O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You.

¹ A Song of degrees. Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways. ² For you shall eat the labor of your hands: Happy shall you be, and it shall be well with you. ³ Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of your house: Your children like olive plants all around your table. ⁴ Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD. ⁵ The LORD shall bless you out of Zion: And you shall see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

³ as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: For there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life forevermore.

¹⁷ Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no food; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: ¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

¹¹ But now I will not be to the residue of this people as in the former days', says the LORD of hosts. ¹² 'For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. ¹³ And it shall come to pass, that as you all were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; to that degree I will save you, and all of you shall be a blessing: Fear not, but let your hands be strong.' ¹⁴ For thus says the LORD of hosts; 'As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked Me to wrath,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and I did not repent: ¹⁵ So again I have thought in these days to do well to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: Fear not, all of you.

¹⁰ Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, all of you, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now with this", says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open to you the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing upon you, such that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

³³ But you, seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

¹⁹ And the sons of Pedaiah were, Zerubbabel, and Shimei: And the sons of Zerubbabel; Meshullam, and Hananiah, and Shelomith their sister:

² which came with Zerubbabel: Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mizpar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:

² Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: And with them were the prophets of God helping them.

⁶ The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

¹⁵ Thus says the Lord GOD to Tyrus; 'Shall not the isles shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of you?

¹⁹ For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken, 'Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; ²⁰ so that the fish of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the wild beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at My presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.'

⁶ For thus says the LORD of hosts; 'Still once, it is yet a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; ⁷ and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: And I will fill this house with glory', says the LORD of hosts.

⁶ Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit', says the LORD of hosts. ⁷ 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain: And he shall bring forth its headstone with shoutings, crying out, "Grace, grace to it." ⁸ Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

²⁶ Whose voice then shook the earth: But now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." ²⁷ Now this phrase, "Yet once more", signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, likewise of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

¹⁷ And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and a great voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done." ¹⁸ And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a large earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. ¹⁹ And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: And great Babylon came up in remembrance before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

¹⁷ And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: And I will get Myself honor upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

²⁸ And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there did not remain so much as one of them.

⁴ Pharaoh's chariots and his army He has cast into the sea: His chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.

¹⁹ For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

²² And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: And the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, to Tabbath.

¹⁶ And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked; and behold, the multitude melted away, and they went on beating down one another.

²² And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

⁹ He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow, and cuts the spear apart; He burns the chariot in the fire.

⁶ At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

¹⁹ Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts the land is darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: No man shall spare his brother.

² "And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: And they shall fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

¹² For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly ruined.

²⁰ Thus you shall be filled at My table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war" ', says the Lord GOD.

³⁴ You saw until a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces. ³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, were broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

²⁵ And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. ²⁶ But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it to the end. ²⁷ And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, Whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.'

²⁵ And through his policy he shall also cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: He shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

⁸ And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the wild beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: Who, if he goes through, both treads down, and tears in pieces, and none can deliver.

¹⁰ And it shall come to pass in that day", says the LORD, "that I will cut off your horses out of the midst of you, and I will destroy your chariots:

¹⁵ And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have never heard of."

⁸ Therefore wait upon Me", says the LORD, "until the day that I rise up to the prey: For My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them My indignation, even all My fierce anger: For all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.

¹⁰ And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: And He shall speak peace to the heathen: And His dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.

¹¹ And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: And the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart away.

² "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling to all the people compassed around, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. ³ And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. ⁴ In that day", says the LORD, "I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: And I will open My eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness. ⁵ And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, 'The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.'

³ Then the LORD shall go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.

⁷ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And there shall be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever."

⁶ Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm: For love is as strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: The coals of it are coals of fire, which has a most vehement flame.

¹ Behold My servant, whom I uphold; My elect, in whom My soul delights; I have put My spirit on Him: He shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

¹⁰ You are My witnesses", says the LORD, and My servant whom I have chosen: That you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He: Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me.

¹ "Listen to Me, O isles; and listen, all you people from afar; The LORD has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother He has made mention of my name. ² And He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in His quiver He has hid me; ³ and said to me, 'You are My servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.'

²⁴ "As I live", said the LORD, "though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet on my right hand, yet would I pluck you off;

⁶ Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit', says the LORD of hosts. ⁷ 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain: And he shall bring forth its headstone with shoutings, crying out, "Grace, grace to it." ⁸ Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ⁹ "The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it"; and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. ¹⁰ "For who has despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth." ¹¹ Then I answered, and said to him, "What are these two olive trees on the right side of the candlestick and on the left side of it?" ¹² And I answered again, and said to him, "What are these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?" ¹³ And he answered me and said, "Do you not know what these are?" And I said, "No, my lord." ¹⁴ Then he said, "These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth."

¹⁸ "Behold My Servant, whom I have chosen; My beloved, in whom My soul is well pleased: I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall show judgment to the Gentiles.

²⁷ Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man shall give to you: For God the Father has sealed Him."

¹⁹ Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: "The Lord knows those that are His." And, "Let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."

⁴ Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, and precious;
