¹² The watchman said, "The morning comes, and also the night: If all of you will inquire, inquire all of you: Return, come."

¹⁴ And behold at time of evening trouble; and before the morning he is no more. This is the portion of those who spoil us, and the lot of those that rob us.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

¹⁹ The LORD has said concerning you, O you remnant of Judah; 'Go not into Egypt': Know certainly that I have admonished you this day. ²⁰ For you dissembled in your hearts, when you sent me to the LORD your God, saying, 'Pray for us to the LORD our God; and according to all that the LORD our God shall say, "so declare to us, and we will do it.' ²¹ And now this day I have declared it to you; but you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God, nor anything for which He has sent me to you. ²² Now therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where you desire to go and to sojourn."

²⁷ Slay all her bulls; let them go down to the slaughter: Woe to them! For their day has come, the time of their visitation.

⁵ Thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, an evil, a one of a kind evil, has come. ⁶ An end has come, the end has come: It watches for you; behold, it has come. ⁷ The morning has come to you, O you who dwell in the land: The time has come, the day of trouble is near, and not the joyful sounds of the mountains again.

¹⁰ Behold the day, behold, it has come: The morning has gone forth; the rod has blossomed, pride has budded.

¹² The time has come, the day draws near: Let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: For wrath is upon all their multitude.

¹ Then certain of the elders of Israel came to me, and sat before me. ² And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ³ "Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling-block of their iniquity before their face: Should I be inquired of by them at all? ⁴ Therefore speak to them, and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Every man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him who comes according to the multitude of his idols; ⁵ that I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from Me through their idols." ' ⁶ "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

³⁰ Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, everyone according to his ways", said the Lord GOD. "Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. ³¹ Cast away all your transgressions from you, by which you have transgressed; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit: For why will you die, O house of Israel? ³² For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies", said the Lord GOD: "therefore turn yourselves, and live."

³⁷ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" ³⁸ Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁹ And they took him, and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, "May we know what this new doctrine is of which you speak? ²⁰ For you bring some strange things to our ears: We would like therefore to know what these things mean."

³⁰ Indeed, the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men everywhere to repent: ³¹ Because He has appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He has ordained; of which He has given assurance to all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead." ³² And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: And others said, "We will hear you again on this matter."
