⁸ if that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to them.

¹² Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, 'For mischief He brought them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth'? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against Your people.

³⁶ For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

¹⁸ And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: For it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of those that oppressed them and vexed them.

⁶ Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, "The LORD is righteous.

¹³ Return, O LORD, how long? And let it repent you concerning Your servants.

⁴⁵ And He remembered His covenant for them, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies.

¹⁴ For the LORD will judge His people, and He will repent himself concerning His servants.

¹⁶ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil; ¹⁷ learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. ¹⁸ "Come now, and let us reason together", said the LORD: "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. ¹⁹ If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land:

³ Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. ⁴ Do not trust in lying words, saying, 'The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.' ⁵ For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor; ⁶ if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: ⁷ Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever.

⁶ You have forsaken Me", said the LORD, "you have gone backward: Therefore I will stretch out My hand against you, and destroy you; I am weary with repenting.

³ It may be they will listen, and every man turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings.'

¹³ Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will relent of the evil that he has pronounced against you.

¹⁹ Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Did he not fear the LORD, and sought the LORD, and the LORD relented of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls."

³ It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin."

¹⁰ 'If you will still abide in this land, then I will build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: For I repent of the evil that I have done to you.

²¹ But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all My statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

¹¹ Say to them, 'As I live', said the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: Turn yourself, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel?'

¹³ When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trusts in his own righteousness, and commits iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it.

⁸ How shall I give you up, Ephraim? How shall I deliver you, Israel? How shall I make you as Admah? How shall I set you as Zeboim? My heart is turned within Me, My repentings are kindled together.

¹³ And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn to the LORD your God: For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and it repents Him concerning the evil. ¹⁴ Who knows if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a food offering and a drink offering to the LORD your God?"

³ The LORD repented for this: "It shall not be", says the LORD. ⁴ Thus has the Lord GOD showed to me: And behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and ate up a part. ⁵ Then I said, "O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech You: By whom shall Jacob arise? For he is small." ⁶ The LORD repented for this: "This also shall not be", says the Lord GOD.

⁵ The waters encompassed me, even to the soul: The depth closed me in all around, the weeds were wrapped about my head. ⁶ I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me forever: Yet You have brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. ⁷ When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: And my prayer came in to You, into Your holy temple. ⁸ Those that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. ⁹ But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD." ¹⁰ And the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

⁹ Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from His fierce anger, that we do not perish?" ¹⁰ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that He had said that He would do to them; and He did not do it.

² And he prayed to the LORD, and said, "I implore You, O LORD, was this not my concern, when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled beforehand to Tarshish: For I knew that You are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and You repent of the evil.

³ I tell you, no: But unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish. ⁴ Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, do you think that they were sinners more than all other men that dwelt in Jerusalem? ⁵ I tell you, no: But unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish."
