¹ And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words, ² then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah, "You speak falsely: The LORD our God has not sent you to say, 'Do not go into Egypt to sojourn there': ³ But Baruch the son of Neriah sets you against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon." ⁴ So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, did not obey the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah. ⁵ But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who had returned from all nations where they had been driven, to dwell in the land of Judah; ⁶ even men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah. ⁷ So they came into the land of Egypt: For they did not obey the voice of the LORD: Thus they came even to Tahpanhes. ⁸ Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying, ⁹ "Take great stones in your hand, and hide them in the clay in the brick kiln, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah; ¹⁰ and say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; "Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them. ¹¹ And when he comes, he shall smite the land of Egypt, and deliver whoever is for death to death; and whoever is for captivity to captivity; and whoever is for the sword to the sword. ¹² And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in peace. ¹³ He shall also break the images of Bethshemesh, who is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians he shall burn with fire." ' "

³ And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: And all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which the LORD has said will we do."

¹⁰ And Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who asked a king of him.

⁷ But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am a child': For you shall go to all whom I shall send you, and whatever I command you you shall speak.

¹⁷ You therefore gird up your loins, and arise, and speak to them all whom I command you: Be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound you before them.

² "Thus says the LORD; 'Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words that I command you to speak to them; diminish not a word:

⁸ Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, "You shall surely die.

³ That the LORD your God may show us the way in which we may walk, and the thing that we may do." ⁴ Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, "I have heard you; behold, I will pray to the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it to you; I will keep nothing back from you." ⁵ Then they said to Jeremiah, "The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not do according to all things which the LORD your God shall send to us by you.

²² Now therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where you desire to go and to sojourn."

⁶³ And it shall be, when you have made an end of reading this book, that you shall bind a stone to it, and cast it into the middle of Euphrates:

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." Amen.

²⁰ "Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this Life."

²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God.

² And Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, neither will I let Israel go."

¹⁷ Do you still exalt yourself against My people, that you will not let them go?

¹³ And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: But he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning to the LORD God of Israel.

⁴ The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. ⁵ His ways are always grievous; Your judgments are far above out of his sight: As for all his enemies, he puffs at them.

³ The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things:

²¹ You have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who go astray from Your commandments.

⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those who are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

¹⁷ A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

¹³ The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: Pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, I do hate.

⁵ Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: Though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. ¹⁹ It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

⁹ Lest I be full, and deny You, and say, 'Who is the LORD?' Or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

⁹ And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established."

⁹ And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, ¹⁰ "The bricks have fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: The sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars."

¹² They have lied concerning the LORD, and said, "It is not He; neither shall evil come on us; neither shall we see sword nor famine: ¹³ And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: Thus shall it be done to them."

¹⁵ Hear all of you, and give ear; be not proud: For the LORD has spoken.

⁸ then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

¹³ Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, ¹⁴ and said to him, "Do you certainly know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay you?" But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam did not believe them. ¹⁵ Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly saying, "Let me go, I implore you, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: Why should he slay you, that all the Jews which are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?" ¹⁶ But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, "You shall not do this thing: For you speak falsely of Ishmael."

¹⁶ Then Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, took all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, even mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon:

¹ Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, came near,

¹ And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

⁴ Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: But the just shall live by his faith. ⁵ Yes also, because he transgresses by wine, he is a proud man, neither keeps at home, who enlarges his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathers to him all nations, and heaps to him all people:

⁶ But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

⁵ Likewise you younger ones, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility: For "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

⁴ For my love they are my adversaries: But I give myself to prayer.

⁴ Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: And Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which He had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.

¹⁰ Then Baruch read from the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house, in the ears of all the people.

²⁶ But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: But the LORD hid them.

⁴ Therefore the princes said to the king, "We beseech you, let this man be put to death: For thus he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them: For this man seeks not the welfare of this people, but the hurt."

⁶ even men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah.

¹ The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying, ² "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, to you, O Baruch: ³ 'You did say, "Woe is me now! For the LORD has added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest." '

¹¹ Blessed are you when men revile you, persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake. ¹² Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: For great is your reward in heaven: For in like manner they persecuted the prophets which were before you.

²² Blessed are you, when men hate you, and when they separate you from their company, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of Man's sake. ²³ Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy: For behold, your reward is great in heaven: For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.

²⁶ Woe to you, when all men speak well of you! For so their fathers did to the false prophets.

¹⁶ And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said to him, "Are you made of the king's counsel? Forbear; why should you be smitten? Then the prophet declined, and said, "I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this, and have not listened to my counsel.

³ Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall you dwell in the land, and truly you shall be fed.

¹⁶ Then I said, "Wisdom is better than strength: Nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

⁵ Then they said to Jeremiah, "The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not do according to all things which the LORD your God shall send to us by you. ⁶ Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God."

¹⁰ 'If you will still abide in this land, then I will build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: For I repent of the evil that I have done to you. ¹¹ Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; be not afraid of him', said the LORD: 'for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand. ¹² And I will show mercies to you, that he may have mercy on you, and cause you to return to your own land. ¹³ But if you say, "We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,

⁵ But they did not listen, nor incline their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.

¹⁹ Now therefore, I implore you, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD has stirred you up against me, let Him accept an offering: But if it is the children of men, cursed be them before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, 'Go, serve other gods.'

¹¹ Likewise when all the Jews who were in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan; ¹² even all the Jews returned out of all places where they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits in abundance.

¹⁵ But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the Ammonites. ¹⁶ Then Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, took all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, even mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon:

¹ For I considered all this in my heart, even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: No man knows either love or hatred by all that is before them. ² All things come alike to all: There is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrifices, and to him that does not sacrifice: As is the good, so is the sinner; and he that swears, as he that fears an oath.

¹⁰ But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

⁷ Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and the poor of the land, of those that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

¹⁰ Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people who were in Mizpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam: And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the Ammonites.

¹⁰ And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: He also slew all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

¹ I AM the man that has seen affliction by the rod of His wrath.

¹⁸ Truly, truly, I say to you, When you were young, you girded yourself, and walked wherever you desired: But when you are old, you shall stretch forth your hands, and another shall gird you, and carry you where you would not have gone."

⁴ For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

¹⁶ Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of your head.

¹ The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

¹⁴ "Declare in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: Say you, 'Stand fast, and prepare yourselves; for the sword shall devour all around you.'

¹⁸ At Tehaphnehes the day shall also be darkened, when I shall break the yokes of Egypt there: And the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: As for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

⁷ Where shall I go from Your Spirit? Or to what place shall I flee from Your presence?

⁹ For which I suffer trouble, as an evildoer, even to chains; but the Word of God is not bound.

¹⁴ And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: All their service, in which they made them serve, was with rigor.

³¹ And he brought forth the people that were in it, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: And thus did he to all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

²⁹ And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field: ³⁰ And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces: ³¹ And he said to Jeroboam, "Take you ten pieces: For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you:

¹ In the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him), and fought against Ashdod, and took it; ² at the same time the LORD spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, "Go and loose the sackcloth from off your loins, and put off your shoe from your foot." And he did so, walking naked and barefoot. ³ And the LORD said, "As like my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and wonder on Egypt and on Ethiopia; ⁴ so shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptian's prisoners, and the Ethiopian's captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

¹ Thus says the LORD to me, "Go and get yourself a linen girdle, and put it on your loins, and do not put it in water." ² So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins. ³ And the word of the LORD came to me the second time, saying, ⁴ "Take the girdle that you have procured, which is on your loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock." ⁵ So I went, and hid it by the Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me. ⁶ And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said to me, "rise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from there, which I commanded you to hide there." ⁷ Then I went to Euphrates, and dug, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: And behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing. ⁸ Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ⁹ "Thus says the LORD, 'In this manner I will mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem. ¹⁰ This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall be like even this girdle, which is good for nothing. ¹¹ For as the girdle sticks to the loins of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to stick to Me', said the LORD; 'that they might be for a people to Me, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: But they would not hear.'

² "Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause you to hear My words." ³ Then I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he worked a work on the wheels. ⁴ And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: So he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. ⁵ Then the word of the LORD came to Me, saying, ⁶ "O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter?" said the LORD. "Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so you are in My hand, O house of Israel. ⁷ At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; ⁸ if that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to them. ⁹ And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; ¹⁰ if it does evil in My sight, that it does not obey My voice, then I will repent of the good, with which I said I would benefit them. ¹¹ Now therefore go to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, speak to the men of Judah, saying, 'Thus says the LORD; "Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: All of you return now, everyone, from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good." ' " ¹² And they said, "There is no hope: But we will walk after our own devices, and we will, everyone, do the imagination of his evil heart."

¹ Thus says the LORD, Go and get a potter's earthen bottle, and take of the ancients of the people, and of the ancients of the priests; ² and go forth to the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell you, ³ and say, "Hear the word of the LORD, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; 'Behold, I will bring evil on this place, for which whoever hears, his ears shall tingle. ⁴ Because they have forsaken Me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it to other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents; ⁵ they have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not commanded, nor spoke it, neither did it come into My mind: ⁶ Therefore, behold, the days come', said the LORD, 'that this place shall no longer be called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter. ⁷ And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of those who seek their lives: And I will give their carcasses to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the wild beasts of the earth. ⁸ And I will make this city desolate, and a hissing; everyone who passes by it shall be astonished and hiss because of all its plagues. ⁹ And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and everyone shall eat the flesh of his friend in the siege and narrow place, with which their enemies, and they who seek their lives, shall straiten them. ¹⁰ Then you shall break the bottle in the sight of the men who go with you, ¹¹ and shall say to them', Thus says the LORD of hosts; 'Even so I will break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again: And they shall bury them in Tophet, until there is no place left to bury. ¹² Thus I will do to this place', said the LORD, 'and to its inhabitants, and even make this city as Tophet: ¹³ And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings to other gods.' " ¹⁴ Then Jeremiah came from Tophet, where the LORD had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the LORD's house; and said to all the people, ¹⁵ "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; 'Behold, I will bring on this city and on all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have hardened their necks, that they might not hear My words.' "

⁶³ And it shall be, when you have made an end of reading this book, that you shall bind a stone to it, and cast it into the middle of Euphrates: ⁶⁴ And you shall say, 'Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring on her: And they shall be weary.' " Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

¹ "You also, son of man, take to yourself a tile, and lay it before you, and portray on it the city, even Jerusalem: ² And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it on every side. ³ Moreover take to yourself an iron pan, and set it as a wall of iron between you and the city: And set your face against it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel. ⁴ Lie also on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it: According to the number of the days that you shall lie on it you shall bear their iniquity. ⁵ For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: So shall you bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. ⁶ And when you have accomplished them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed you each day for a year. ⁷ Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and your arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it. ⁸ And behold, I will lay bands on you, and you shall not turn from one side to another, until you have ended the days of your siege. ⁹ Take also to yourself wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make them into bread for yourself, according to the number of the days that you shall lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days you shall eat of it. ¹⁰ And your meat which you shall eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: From time to time you shall eat it. ¹¹ You shall also drink water by measure, the sixth part of a hin: From time to time you shall drink. ¹² And you shall eat it as barley cakes, and you shall bake it with dung that comes out of man, in their sight." ¹³ And the LORD said, "Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, where I will drive them." ¹⁴ Then I said, "Ah Lord GOD! Behold, my soul has not been polluted: For from my youth up until even now have I not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither did there come abominable flesh into my mouth." ¹⁵ Then He said to me, "See, I have given you cow's dung for man's dung, and you shall prepare your bread with it." ¹⁶ Moreover He said to me, "Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: And they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment: ¹⁷ That they may want bread and water, and be astonished with one another, and consume away for their iniquity."

¹ "And you, son of man, take a sharp knife, take a barber's razor, and cause it to pass on your head and on your beard: Then take balances to weigh and divide the hair. ² You shall burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: And you shall take a third part, and smite around it with a knife: And a third part you shall scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them. ³ You shall also take a few of them in number, and bind them in your skirts. ⁴ Then take of them again, and cast them into the middle of the fire, and burn them in the fire; from which a fire shall come forth into all the house of Israel. ⁵ Thus says the Lord GOD; 'This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are around her. ⁶ And she has changed My judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and My statutes more than the countries that are around her: For they have refused My judgments and My statutes, they have not walked in them.' ⁷ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Because you multiplied more than the nations that are around you, and have not walked in My statutes, neither have kept My judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are around you;' ⁸ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, I, even I, am against you, and will execute judgments in the midst of you in the sight of the nations. ⁹ And I will do in you that which I have not done, and the like of which I will not do any more, because of all your abominations. ¹⁰ Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of you, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in you, and I will scatter the whole remnant of you into all the winds. ¹¹ Therefore, as I live', said the Lord GOD; 'Surely, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you; neither shall My eye spare, neither will I have any pity. ¹² A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and they shall be consumed with famine in the midst of you: And a third part shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. ¹³ Thus shall My anger be accomplished, and I will cause My fury to rest on them, and I will be comforted: And they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in My zeal, when I have accomplished My fury in them. ¹⁴ Moreover I will make you waste, and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all who pass by. ¹⁵ So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment to the nations that are around you, when I shall execute judgments in you in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it. ¹⁶ When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: And I will increase the famine on you, and will break your staff of bread: ¹⁷ So too I will send on you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave you: And pestilence and blood shall pass through you; and I will bring the sword on you. I the LORD have spoken it.' "

³ Therefore, son of man, prepare your stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and you shall remove from your place to another place in their sight: It may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house. ⁴ Then you shall bring forth your stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: And you shall go forth at evening in their sight, like those who go forth into captivity. ⁵ Dig through the wall in their sight, and carry out through it. ⁶ You shall bear it on your shoulders in their sight, and carry it forth in the twilight: You shall cover your face, that you do not see the ground: For I have set you for a sign to the house of Israel." ⁷ And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the evening I dug through the wall with my hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bore it on my shoulder in their sight. ⁸ And in the morning the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ⁹ "Son of man, has not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said to you, 'What are you doing?' ¹⁰ Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel who are among them." ' ¹¹ Say, 'I am your sign: Like I have done, so shall it be done to them: They shall remove and go into captivity.' ¹² And the prince who is among them shall bear on his shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: They shall dig through the wall to carry out through it: He shall cover his face, that he does not see the ground with his eyes. ¹³ I will also spread My net on him, and he shall be taken in My snare: And I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he shall not see it, though he shall die there. ¹⁴ And I will scatter toward every wind all who are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them. ¹⁵ And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries. ¹⁶ But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen where they go; and they shall know that I am the LORD."

¹⁰ I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets."

¹⁴ Draw yourself waters for the siege, fortify your strongholds: Go into clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brick kiln.

¹¹ When he had come to us, he took Paul's belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, "Thus says the Holy Spirit, 'So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.' "

²¹ And a mighty angel took up a stone like a large millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

¹² And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said to his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.

¹⁶ And they went out at noon. But Benhadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings that helped him.

¹¹ He made darkness His secret place; His pavilion all around Him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

⁵ For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: In the secret of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me upon a rock.

²⁰ You shall hide them in the secret of Your presence from the pride of man: You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

²⁸ Who said of Cyrus, "He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure": Even saying to Jerusalem, "You shall be built"; and to the temple, "Your foundation shall be laid."

¹⁵ For lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north", said the LORD; "and they shall come, and they shall each one set his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all its walls all around, and against all the cities of Judah.

⁶ And do not go after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no harm.' ⁷ Yet you have not listened to Me", said the LORD; "that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. ⁸ Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; 'Because you have not heard My words, ⁹ behold, I will send and take all the families of the north', said the LORD, 'and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations. ¹⁰ Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. ¹¹ And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. ¹² And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation', said the LORD, 'for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations. ¹³ And I will bring on that land all My words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations. ¹⁴ For many nations and great kings shall reduce them to subjection also: And I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.' " ¹⁵ For thus says the LORD God of Israel to me; "Take the wine cup of this fury at My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it. ¹⁶ And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them." ¹⁷ Then I took the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom the LORD had sent me: ¹⁸ To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and her kings, and her princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse; as it is this day; ¹⁹ pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people; ²⁰ and all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod, ²¹ edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon, ²² and all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea, ²³ dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners, ²⁴ and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert, ²⁵ and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes, ²⁶ and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the face of the earth: And the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

⁶ And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and I have also given him the wild beasts of the field to serve him. ⁷ And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land comes: And then many nations and great kings shall enservant him. ⁸ And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish', said the LORD, 'with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

²⁷ "But do not fear, O My servant Jacob, and do not be dismayed, O Israel: For, behold, I will save you from afar off, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. ²⁸ Do not fear, O Jacob My servant", said the LORD: "for I am with you; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you: But I will not make a full end of you, but correct you in measure; yet I will not leave you wholly unpunished."

¹⁸ "Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyrus: Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: Yet he had no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service that he had served against it: ¹⁹ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army. ²⁰ I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor with which he served against it, because they worked for Me', said the Lord GOD.

²¹ And He changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and sets up kings: He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those that know understanding:

¹⁸ O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor: ¹⁹ And for the majesty that He gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: He slew whom he would, and he kept alive whom he would; and he set up whom he would; and he put down whom he would.

⁷ But when the king heard about it, he was wroth: And he sent forth his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

²⁹ This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed to him by God.

¹ The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: And the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it. ² "And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: And they shall fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. ³ And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of her; and I will destroy her counsel: And they shall seek to consult the idols, and to consult the charmers, and to those that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards. ⁴ And I will give the Egyptians over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them", said the Lord, the LORD of hosts. ⁵ And the waters from the sea shall fail, and the river shall be wasted and dried up. ⁶ And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defense shall be emptied and dried up: The reeds and flags shall wither. ⁷ The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and everything sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more. ⁸ The fishers shall also mourn, and all those who cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and those that spread nets on the waters shall languish. ⁹ Moreover those who work in fine flax, and those who weave networks, shall be confounded. ¹⁰ And they shall be broken in its purposes, all who make flood-gates and ponds for fish. ¹¹ Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh has become brutish: How do you say to Pharaoh, "I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?" ¹² Where are they? Where are your wise men? And let them tell you now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts has purposed on Egypt. ¹³ The princes of Zoan have become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even those who are the support of its tribes. ¹⁴ The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit in the midst of it: And they have caused Egypt to err in every work of it, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit. ¹⁵ Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do. ¹⁶ In that day Egypt shall be like women: And it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shakes over it. ¹⁷ And the land of Judah shall be a terror to Egypt, everyone that makes mention of it shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he has determined against it. ¹⁸ In that day five cities in the land of Egypt shall speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction. ¹⁹ In that day there shall be an altar to the LORD in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border. ²⁰ And it shall be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: For they shall cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He shall send them a Savior, and a Great One, and He shall deliver them. ²¹ And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yes, they shall vow a vow to the LORD, and perform it. ²² And the LORD shall smite Egypt: He shall smite and heal it: And they shall even return to the LORD, and He shall be entreated of them, and shall heal them. ²³ In that day there shall be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. ²⁴ In that day Israel shall be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: ²⁵ Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed be Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance."

² And it shall come to pass, if they say to you, 'Where shall we go forth?' then you shall tell them, 'Thus says the LORD; "Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity." '

¹⁹ pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;

¹³ For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:

¹ The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles; ² against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah. ³ "Order the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle. ⁴ Harness the horses; and get up you horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, and put on the body armor. ⁵ Why have I seen them dismayed and turned back away? And their mighty ones are beaten down, and have fled quickly, and do not look back: For fear was all around", said the LORD. ⁶ "Do not let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates. ⁷ Who is this who comes up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers? ⁸ Egypt rises up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he said, 'I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and its inhabitants.' ⁹ Come up, you horses; and rage, you chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, who handle the shield; and the Lydians, who handle and bend the bow. ¹⁰ For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that He may avenge Him of his adversaries: And the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: For the Lord GOD of hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates. ¹¹ Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: In vain you shall use many medicines; for you shall not be cured. ¹² The nations have heard of your shame, and your cry has filled the land: For the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, and they have both fallen together." ¹³ The word that the LORD spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt. ¹⁴ "Declare in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: Say you, 'Stand fast, and prepare yourselves; for the sword shall devour all around you.' ¹⁵ Why are your valiant men swept away? They did not stand because the LORD drove them away. ¹⁶ He made many fall, yes, one fell on another: And they said, 'Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.' ¹⁷ They cried there, 'Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has passed the appointed time.' ¹⁸ "As I live", said the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts, "Surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come. ¹⁹ O you daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity: For Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant. ²⁰ Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction comes; it comes out of the north. ²¹ Also her hired men are in the midst of her like fattened bulls; for they are also turned back, and have fled away together: They did not stand, because the day of their calamity had come on them, and the time of their visitation. ²² The sound of it is like a serpent as it goes; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood. ²³ They shall cut down her forest', said the LORD, 'though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.' ²⁴ The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north. ²⁵ The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, said; "Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all those who trust in him: ²⁶ And I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: And afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old", said the LORD.

¹² A third part of you shall die with the pestilence, and they shall be consumed with famine in the midst of you: And a third part shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.

¹ The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, ² "Son of man, prophesy and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Howl, 'Woe is the day!' ³ For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen. ⁴ And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great pain shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down. ⁵ Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land who are in league, shall fall by the sword with them." ⁶ Thus says the LORD; "Those also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: From the tower of Syene they shall fall in it by the sword", says the Lord GOD. ⁷ "And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted. ⁸ And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed. ⁹ In that day messengers shall go forth from Me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: For lo, it comes." ¹⁰ Thus says the Lord GOD; "I will also make the multitude of Egypt cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. ¹¹ He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: And they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain. ¹² And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: And I will make the land waste, and all that is in it, by the hand of strangers: I the LORD have spoken it." ¹³ Thus says the Lord GOD; "I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: And I will put a fear in the land of Egypt. ¹⁴ And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No. ¹⁵ And I will pour My fury on Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. ¹⁶ And I will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be torn asunder, and Noph shall have distresses daily. ¹⁷ The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword: And these cities shall go into captivity. ¹⁸ At Tehaphnehes the day shall also be darkened, when I shall break the yokes of Egypt there: And the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: As for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. ¹⁹ Thus I will execute judgments in Egypt: And they shall know that I am the LORD." ' " ²⁰ And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ²¹ "Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword. ²² Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand. ²³ And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. ²⁴ And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put My sword in his hand: But I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man. ²⁵ But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt. ²⁶ And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries; and they shall know that I am the LORD.' "

⁹ Then I said, "I will not feed you: That which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat, everyone, the flesh of another."

¹² For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt: I am the LORD.

²¹ And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

⁹ And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the man with whom the king delights to honor, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, 'Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor.' "

¹⁰ Deck yourself now with majesty and excellency; and array yourself with glory and beauty.

² Who covers Yourself with light as with a garment: Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain:

¹⁸ As he clothed himself with cursing as with a garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. ¹⁹ Let it be to him as the garment which covers him, and for a girdle with which he is continually girded.

¹⁶ I also will clothe her priests with salvation: And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

¹⁸ I will clothe his enemies with shame: But his crown shall flourish upon himself."

⁹ And behold, here comes a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods He has broken to the ground."

¹ Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols were on the beasts, and on the domestic beasts: Your carriages were heavy laden; they are a burden to the weary beast.

¹⁸ Lift up your eyes all around, and behold: All these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live", said the LORD, "you shall surely clothe yourselves with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on you, as a bride does.

¹ Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: For from now on the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come into you.

¹⁷ For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; and He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

⁵ And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

²⁵ The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, said; "Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and all those who trust in him:

⁷ For because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you shall also be taken: And Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

² "Declare among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and do not conceal: Say, 'Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.'

⁴⁴ And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he has swallowed up: And the nations shall not flow together to him any more: Yes, the wall of Babylon shall fall.

¹³ Thus says the Lord GOD; "I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: And I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

¹¹ The LORD will be terrible to them: For He will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand: Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

²⁴ and that you put on the new man, which after the manner of God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

¹² Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

¹⁴ And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.

¹⁸ In that day five cities in the land of Egypt shall speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
