And they said, "He is dead. ²⁰ Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshiped: Then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he ate.

³ And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD on the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped, and praised the LORD, saying, "For he is good; for his mercy endures forever.

³ And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonished.

³⁹ And He went a little further, fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me: Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will."

⁶ Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:
