¹⁹ He shall deliver you in six troubles: Yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you.

¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

³ Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noxious pestilence. ⁴ He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust: His truth shall be your shield and buckler. ⁵ You shall not be afraid on account of the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; ⁶ nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that lays waste at noonday. ⁷ A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. ⁸ Merely with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked. ⁹ Because you have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the Most High, your habitation; ¹⁰ no evil shall befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

¹⁶ For a just man falls seven times, and rises up again: But the wicked shall fall into mischief.

¹³ There is no temptation that has taken you except such as is common to man: But God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able; but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

⁸ For we do not intend, brethren, to have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life:

⁹ the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust for the day of judgment to be punished:
