¹⁵ And they came to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, to the land of Gilead, and they spoke with them, saying,

⁸ They have quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them: They have made themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed to it, and said, 'These be your gods, O Israel, which have brought you up out of the land of Egypt.' "

¹⁹ It is a trespass offering: He has certainly trespassed against the LORD.

⁸ And you shall say to them, Whatever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offers a burnt offering or sacrifice, ⁹ and brings it not to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it to the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.

⁴⁰ If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary to me;

⁶ speak to the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty;

⁴³ For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword: Because you are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

¹⁵ For if you turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and you shall destroy all this people.

⁴ For they will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods: So will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy you suddenly.

⁴ You shall not do so to the LORD your God. ⁵ But to the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even to his habitation shall you seek, and thither you shall come: ⁶ And thither you shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and of your flocks:

¹³ Take heed to yourself that you offer not your burnt offerings in every place that you see: ¹⁴ But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you.

¹⁷ But if your heart turns away, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

¹² And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them.

¹⁸ but that you must turn away this day from following the LORD? And it will be, seeing you rebel today against the LORD, that tomorrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel.

²³ For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king."

³ And Joab answered, The LORD make his people a hundred times so many more as they be: But, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? Why then does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

¹⁹ And Israel rebelled against the house of David to this day.

²⁷ Now after the time that Amaziah did turn away from following the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: But they sent to Lachish after him, and slew him there.

¹⁸ And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said to him, "It appertains not to you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: Go out of the sanctuary; for you have trespassed; neither shall it be for your honor from the LORD God.

¹³ and said to them, "You shall not bring in the captives here: For whereas we have offended against the LORD already, you intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass: For our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.

² For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: So that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: Yes, the hand of the princes and rulers has been chief in this trespass.

¹⁵ O LORD God of Israel, you are righteous: For we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: Behold, we are before you in our trespasses: For we cannot stand before you because of this.

⁸ And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that did not set their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

¹⁰ But they rebelled, and vexed His holy Spirit: Therefore He was turned to be their enemy, and He fought against them.

¹⁴ For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: ¹⁵ But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

¹⁷ And if he neglects to hear them, tell it to the church: But if he refuses even to listen to the church, let him be to you as a heathen man and a publican.

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

⁴ in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

²⁵ See that you do not refuse Him that speaks. For if those who refused 'Him that spoke on earth' did not escape, much more we shall not escape, if we turn away from Him that speaks from heaven:
