⁷ And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan to the fords: And as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.

⁹ and she said to the men, I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that your terror is fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. ¹⁰ For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when you came out of Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. ¹¹ And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: For the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. ¹² Now therefore, I implore you, swear to me by the LORD, since I have showed you kindness, that you will also show kindness to my father's house, and give me a true token: ¹³ And that you will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death. ¹⁴ And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if you utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.

²⁴ And they said to Joshua, "Truly the LORD has delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

⁴ And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: For he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: Therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.

¹ And the LORD said to Joshua, "Fear not, neither be you dismayed: Take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai: See, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land:

⁶ And the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid because of them: For tomorrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: You shall hamstring their horses, and burn their chariots with fire. ⁷ So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them. ⁸ And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them to great Zidon, and to Misrephothmaim, and to the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

²¹ And the LORD God of Israel delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they smote them: So Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.

²⁴ Will not you possess that which Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whomever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.

¹⁹ And David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go up to the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand? And the LORD said to David, "Go up: For I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.

²⁴ So the children went in and possessed the land, and you subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gave them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.

²¹ And He changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and sets up kings: He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those that know understanding:

⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings the God of heaven shall set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

¹⁷ This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: To the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will, and sets up over it the basest of men.'

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: And He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: And none can stay His hand, or say to Him, "What are You doing?"

¹⁸ O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor:

⁹ Only rebel not you against the LORD, neither fear you the people of the land; for they are bread for us: Their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: Fear them not.

⁷ And he said to the people, "Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD."

¹⁴ And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp: So they did six days.

³ And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: Because on it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.

² You shall take with you every clean beast by sevens, the male and his female: And of beasts that are not clean by two's, the male and his female. ³ Of fowls of the air also by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

⁶ And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the veil of the sanctuary.

¹⁶ And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD:

⁸ And you shall number seven Sabbaths of years to you, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be to you forty and nine years. ⁹ Then you shall cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall you make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ² make you two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shall you make them: That you may use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. ³ And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to you at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. ⁴ And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves to you. ⁵ When you blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. ⁶ When you blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: They shall blow an alarm for their journeys. ⁷ But when the congregation is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm. ⁸ And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance forever throughout your generations. ⁹ And if you go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresses you, then you shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies. ¹⁰ Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.

¹ And Balaam said to Balak, "Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.

⁷ And the LORD said to Gideon, "By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand: And let all the other people go every man to his place. ⁸ So the people took food in their hand, and their trumpets: And he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, and retained those three hundred men: And the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

¹⁵ And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and its interpretation, that he worshiped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, "Arise; for the LORD has delivered into your hand the host of Midian. ¹⁶ And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers. ¹⁷ And he said to them, "Look on me, and do likewise: And behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall you do. ¹⁸ When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow you the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, "The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon. ¹⁹ So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came to the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: And they blew the trumpets, and broke the pitchers that were in their hands. ²⁰ And the three companies blew the trumpets, and broke the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow with: And they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon. ²¹ And they stood every man in his place all around the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. ²² And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: And the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, to Tabbath.

⁴³ and said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, "There is nothing. And he said, "Go again seven times.

¹⁰ And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.

¹² And behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight you not against the LORD God of your fathers; for you shall not prosper.

¹⁷ You shall not need to fight in this battle: Set yourselves, stand you still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: Fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: For the LORD will be with you.

¹⁹ And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.

²¹ And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers to the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, "Praise the LORD; for his mercy endures forever.

⁸ Therefore take to you now seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: For him will I accept: Lest I deal with you after your folly, in that you have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

¹³ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

²⁰ the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: And the seven candlesticks which you saw are the seven churches.

¹ And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

⁵² And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until they came to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the road to Shaaraim, even to Gath, and to Ekron.

¹⁴ And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: And they cried out to the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. ¹⁵ Then the men of Judah gave a shout: And as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

²¹ And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers to the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, "Praise the LORD; for his mercy endures forever. ²² And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

¹² And the fortress of the high fort of your walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

²⁵ And there shall be on every high mountain, and on every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

¹⁵ Shout against her from every side: She has given her hand: Her foundations have fallen, her walls are thrown down: For it is the vengeance of the LORD: Take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her.

⁴ (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds); ⁵ casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

³⁰ By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed around seven days.

¹⁴ And you shall put the staffs into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.

² And it shall be, when you have come near to the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people, ³ and shall say to them, Hear, O Israel, you approach this day to battle against your enemies: Let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be you terrified because of them; ⁴ for the LORD your God is he that goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

³ and they commanded the people, saying, "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then you shall remove from your place, and go after it.

⁶ And Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.

⁸ And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: And the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.

⁸ Then your light shall break forth like the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: And your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear-guard.

²³ And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, "You shall not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come on them in front of the mulberry trees. ²⁴ And let it be, when you hear the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall bestir yourself: For then shall the LORD go out before you, to smite the host of the Philistines.

¹⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: He that believes shall not make haste.

² He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.

¹⁹ He shall not strive, nor cry out; neither shall any man hear His voice in the streets.

⁴⁹ And behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you: But tarry in the city of Jerusalem, until you are endued with power from on high."

⁷ And He said to them, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put under His own power.

¹ And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.

⁶ And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD." ⁷ And he said to the people, "Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD." ⁸ And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: And the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.

⁵ His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it." ⁶ Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the the manner of purifying of the Jews, containing one half or three-quarters of a barrel each.one half or three-quarters of a barrel: In KJV, two or three firkins; each of which was equivalent to 8 [UK] gallons. Hence all 6 waterpots totaled approximately 115 or 173 [US] gallons; 436 or 655 liters; or, 96 or 144 [UK] gallons. ⁷ Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they filled them up to the brim. ⁸ And He said to them, "Now draw out some, and bring it to the governor of the feast." And they brought it.

¹⁰ And Jesus said, "Make the men sit down." Now there was a lot of grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. ¹¹ And Jesus took the loaves; and when He had given thanks, He distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; and likewise of the fish as much as they desired.

⁶ When He had spoken in this manner, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay; ⁷ and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which by interpretation is, Sent). Therefore he went his way, washed, and came back seeing.

⁷ By faith Noah, being warned by God of things not yet seen, moved with fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. ⁸ By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out into a place which he should afterwards receive as an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.

²⁶ And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bulls and seven rams.

¹³ But he who endures to the end, the same shall be saved.

⁹ And let us not be weary in well doing: For in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint.

¹¹ So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: And they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.

¹⁵ And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city in the same manner for the seventh time that week: Only on that day they proceeded to compass the city seven times in a row.

¹⁴⁷ I went before the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in Your word.

¹ In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the sepulcher.

¹⁹ We also have a more sure word of prophecy; which you do well that you take heed of, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the day star arise in your hearts:

⁵ And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you all hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up, every man, straight before him."

¹⁵ Then the men of Judah gave a shout: And as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

²² And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. ²³ For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

³ And I will bless those that bless you, and curse him that curses you: And in you all families of the earth shall be blessed."

²⁸ Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to the LORD of all that he has, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: Every devoted thing is most holy to the LORD. ²⁹ None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death.

² And Israel vowed a vow to the LORD, and said, "If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities. ³ And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: And he called the name of the place Hormah.

¹⁷ But you shall utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD your God has commanded you:

¹ And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, "Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into a harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

⁴ And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, "Men came to me, but I did not know where they were from: ⁵ And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: Where the men went I do not know: Pursue after them quickly; for you shall overtake them. ⁶ But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof.

²² And they went, and came to the mountain, and stayed there three days, until the pursuers were returned: And the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but did not find them.

²² But Joshua had said to the two men that had spied out the country, "Go into the harlot's house, and bring the woman out from there, and all that she has, as you both swore to her." ²³ And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brothers, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them outside the camp of Israel.

¹ But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: For Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: And the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.

⁶ And Saul said to the Kenites, "Go, depart, get yourselves down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: For you showed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt." So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

⁸ and that whoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.

⁶ The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

¹⁰ For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that He may avenge Him of his adversaries: And the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: For the Lord GOD of hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

¹⁷ "And, you son of man, thus says the Lord GOD; 'Speak to every feathered fowl, and to every wild beast of the field, "Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to My sacrifice that I sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that you may eat flesh, and drink blood.

¹³ "Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: For I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs brass: And you shall beat in pieces many people: And I will consecrate their gain to the LORD, and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth."

⁴¹ He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. ⁴² And whoever shall give one of these little ones only a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, He shall in no case lose his reward."

⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these My brethren, you have done it to Me.'

⁷ But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world to our glory:

²² If any man does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: For it is written, "Cursed is everyone that does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."

¹² And the law is not of faith: But, "The man who does them shall live in them."

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

³¹ By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those that did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.

²⁵ Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers, and sent them out another way?

²⁶ Neither shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it: But you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

¹⁷ And there shall stick nothing of the cursed thing to your hand: That the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion on you, and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers;

¹¹ Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them: For they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff. ¹² Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: Neither will I be with you any more, except you destroy the accursed from among you.

¹⁵ And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he has: Because he has transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he has worked folly in Israel.

²⁵ And Joshua said, "Why have you troubled us? The LORD shall trouble you this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.

¹⁸ but that you must turn away this day from following the LORD? And it will be, seeing you rebel today against the LORD, that tomorrow he will be wroth with the whole congregation of Israel. ¹⁹ Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass you over to the land of the possession of the LORD, in which the LORD's tabernacle dwells, and take possession among us: But rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an altar beside the altar of the LORD our God. ²⁰ Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? And that man perished not alone in his iniquity.

²⁸ Then one of the people answered, and said, "Your father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying, 'Cursed be the man that eats any food this day.' " And the people were faint. ²⁹ Then Jonathan said, "My father has troubled the land: See, I implore you, how my eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey. ³⁰ How much more, if perhaps the people had eaten freely today of the spoil of their enemies which they found? For would there not have been now a much greater slaughter among the Philistines?" ³¹ And they smote the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon: And the people were very faint. ³² And the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and slew them upon the ground: And the people ate them with the blood. ³³ Then they told Saul, saying, "Behold, the people sin against the LORD, in that they eat with the blood." And he said, "You have transgressed: Roll a great stone to me this day." ³⁴ And Saul said, "Disperse yourselves among the people, and say to them, 'Every man bring me here his ox, and every man his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and do not sin against the LORD in eating with the blood.' " And every man of all the people brought his ox with him that night, and slew them there. ³⁵ And Saul built an altar to the LORD: The same was the first altar that he built to the LORD. ³⁶ And Saul said, "Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them." And they said, "Do whatever seems good to you." Then the priest said, "Let us draw near here to God." ³⁷ And Saul asked counsel of God, "Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will you deliver them into the hand of Israel?" But He did not answer that day. ³⁸ And Saul said, "Draw yourselves near here, all the chief of the people: And know and see in which respect this sin has been this day. ³⁹ For, as the LORD lives, which saves Israel, though it be through Jonathan my son, he shall surely die." But there was not a man among all the people that answered him. ⁴⁰ Then he said to all Israel, "Be yourselves on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side." And the people said to Saul, "Do what seems good to you." ⁴¹ Therefore Saul said to the LORD God of Israel, "Give a perfect lot." And Saul and Jonathan were taken: But the people escaped. ⁴² And Saul said, "Cast lots between me and my son Jonathan." And Jonathan was taken.

¹ Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

¹⁷ And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, "Are you he that troubles Israel? ¹⁸ And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but you, and your father's house, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and you have followed Baalim.

¹⁸ Wisdom is better than weapons of war: But one sinner destroys much good."

¹² And he said to them, "Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm to you: For I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you."

⁹ Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

¹⁷ Therefore "Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will receive you",

¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

²¹ Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

²⁴ But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy to praise the LORD with.

²² only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

¹¹ Which also king David did dedicate to the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

⁵¹ So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.

²⁶ And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house; he even took away all: And he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

¹³ And he carried out there all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.

¹¹ Them also king David dedicated to the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

²⁰ And of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of the house of God, and over the treasures of the dedicated things.

²⁶ Which Shelomith and his brothers were over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the chief fathers, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated.

²⁸ And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brothers.

¹² and the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers all around, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:

¹⁸ And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.

¹² and brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: Over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next.

⁷⁰ And some of the chief of the fathers gave to the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasure a thousand drams of gold, fifty basins, five hundred and thirty priests' garments. ⁷¹ And some of the chief of the fathers gave to the treasure of the work twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pound of silver.

³⁸ And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: And the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.

¹⁷ And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth. ¹⁸ And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: It shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for those who dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

¹¹ So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took there old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

²⁰ In that day there shall be upon the bells of the horses, "HOLINESS TO THE LORD"; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar. ²¹ Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness to the LORD of hosts: And all those that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and boil in them: And in that day there shall no longer be the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

⁶ And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, "It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price for blood."

⁴¹ And Jesus sat before the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: And many who were rich cast in much.

³⁴ And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:

² and when the LORD your God shall deliver them before you; you shall smite them, and utterly destroy them; you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them: ³ Neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give to his son, nor his daughter shall you take to your son.

¹⁶ And you shall consume all the people which the LORD your God shall deliver you; your eye shall have no pity on them: Neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare to you.

¹⁶ But of the cities of these people, which the LORD your God does give you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes: ¹⁷ But you shall utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD your God has commanded you:

²⁴ And they answered Joshua, and said, "Because it was certainly told your servants, how that the LORD your God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were severely afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing. ²⁵ And now, behold, we are in your hand: As it seems good and right to you to do to us, do.

²⁸ And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and its king he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were in it; he let none remain: And he did to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.

³⁹ And he took it, and its king, and all its cities; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were in it; he left none remaining: As he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to its king; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.

¹⁴ And all the spoil of these cities, and the domestic beasts, the children of Israel took for a prey to themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.

³ Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.' "

⁸ And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

¹⁸ And the LORD sent you on a journey, and said, 'Go and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.' ¹⁹ Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD, but did fly upon the spoil, and did evil in the sight of the LORD?"

⁴² And he said to him, "Thus says the LORD, Because you have let go out of your hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.

⁸ O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed; he shall be happy who recompenses you as you have bestowed upon us. ⁹ Happy shall he be, that takes and dashes your little ones against the stones.

¹⁸ You daughter who inhabits Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come on you, and he shall destroy your strongholds.

²¹ And a mighty angel took up a stone like a large millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

And they went, and came into a harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there. ² And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, "Behold, there came men in here tonight of the children of Israel to search out the country. ³ And the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, "Bring forth the men that have come to you, which are entered into your house: For they be come to search out all the country. ⁴ And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, "Men came to me, but I did not know where they were from: ⁵ And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: Where the men went I do not know: Pursue after them quickly; for you shall overtake them. ⁶ But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof. ⁷ And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan to the fords: And as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. ⁸ And before they were laid down, she came up to them on the roof; ⁹ and she said to the men, I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that your terror is fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. ¹⁰ For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when you came out of Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. ¹¹ And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: For the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. ¹² Now therefore, I implore you, swear to me by the LORD, since I have showed you kindness, that you will also show kindness to my father's house, and give me a true token: ¹³ And that you will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death. ¹⁴ And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if you utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you. ¹⁵ Then she let them down by a cord through the window: For her house was on the town wall, and she dwelled on the wall. ¹⁶ And she said to them, "Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: And afterward may you go your way. ¹⁷ And the men said to her, "We will be blameless of this your oath which you have made us swear. ¹⁸ Behold, when we come into the land, you shall bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you did let us down by: And you shall bring your father, and your mother, and your brothers, and all your father's household, home to you. ¹⁹ And it shall be, that whoever shall go out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his head, and we will be guiltless: And whoever shall be with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be on him. ²⁰ And if you utter this our business, then we will be quit of your oath which you have made us to swear. ²¹ And she said, "According to your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: And she bound the scarlet line in the window. ²² And they went, and came to the mountain, and stayed there three days, until the pursuers were returned: And the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but did not find them. ²³ So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them: ²⁴ And they said to Joshua, "Truly the LORD has delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

¹⁷ And the city shall be accursed, even it and all that are in it, to the LORD: Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

¹⁵ And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: And the princes of the congregation swore to them.

¹⁸ And the children of Israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn to them by the LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes. ¹⁹ But all the princes said to all the congregation, We have sworn to them by the LORD God of Israel: Now therefore we may not touch them. ²⁰ This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be on us, because of the oath which we swore to them.

² And the king called the Gibeonites, and said to them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn to them: And Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah).

⁷ But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

⁴ In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honors those that fear the LORD. He that swears to his own hurt, and does not change it.

¹³ and has taken of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and has taken an oath of him: He has also taken the mighty of the land:

¹⁶ As I live', said the Lord GOD, 'surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.

¹⁸ Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and has done all these things, he shall not escape.' " ¹⁹ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; "As I live, surely My oath that he has despised, and My covenant that he has broken, I will even recompense it on his own head.

² And I will make a great nation of you, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing:

²⁴ Peradventure there are fifty righteous within the city: Will you also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are in it?

²⁹ And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelled.

² command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and everyone that has an issue, and whoever is defiled by the dead: ³ Both male and female shall you put out, outside the camp shall you put them; that they defile not their camps, in the middle whereof I dwell.

¹⁹ And do you abide outside the camp seven days: Whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.

¹³ And that you will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.

¹⁸ Behold, when we come into the land, you shall bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you did let us down by: And you shall bring your father, and your mother, and your brothers, and all your father's household, home to you.

²⁸ Then he said to them, "You know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come to one of another nation; but God has showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

²⁴ saying, 'Fear not, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar: And look, God has given you all those who sail with you.'

¹² For what have I to do with judging those that also are outside? Do you not judge those that are inside?

¹² because at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

⁷ By faith Noah, being warned by God of things not yet seen, moved with fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

¹⁶ And you shall gather all the spoil of it into the middle of its street, and shall burn with fire the city, and all its spoil every whit, for the LORD your God: And it shall be a heap forever; it shall not be built again.

¹⁹ But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated to the LORD: They shall come into the treasury of the LORD."

²⁸ And Joshua burnt Ai, and made it a heap forever, even a desolation to this day.

⁹ And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire.

¹⁶ And the ten horns which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

⁸ Therefore her plagues shall come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: For strong is the Lord God Who judges her.

⁶ But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof.

⁹ And Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bore the ark of the covenant stood: And they are there to this day.

¹⁹ There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: All other they took in battle. ²⁰ For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.

²⁴ And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said to him, "Show us, we implore you, the entrance into the city, and we will show you mercy. ²⁵ And when he showed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family.

⁵ And Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, and Obed begot Jesse,

²¹ And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved.'

¹⁹ And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say to the woman, If no man have lain with you, and if you have not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of your husband, be you free from this bitter water that causes the curse: ²⁰ But if you have gone aside to another instead of your husband, and if you be defiled, and some man have lain with you beside your husband: ²¹ Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say to the woman, The LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the LORD does make your thigh to rot, and your belly to swell;

²⁴ And the men of Israel were distressed that day: For Saul had adjured the people, saying, "Cursed be the man that eats any food until evening, that I may be avenged on my enemies." So none of the people tasted any food. ²⁵ And all the men of the land came to a forest; and there was honey upon the ground. ²⁶ And when the people had come into the woods, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: For the people feared the oath. ²⁷ But Jonathan did not hear when his father charged the people with the oath: Therefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in a honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened. ²⁸ Then one of the people answered, and said, "Your father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying, 'Cursed be the man that eats any food this day.' " And the people were faint. ²⁹ Then Jonathan said, "My father has troubled the land: See, I implore you, how my eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey. ³⁰ How much more, if perhaps the people had eaten freely today of the spoil of their enemies which they found? For would there not have been now a much greater slaughter among the Philistines?" ³¹ And they smote the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon: And the people were very faint. ³² And the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and slew them upon the ground: And the people ate them with the blood. ³³ Then they told Saul, saying, "Behold, the people sin against the LORD, in that they eat with the blood." And he said, "You have transgressed: Roll a great stone to me this day." ³⁴ And Saul said, "Disperse yourselves among the people, and say to them, 'Every man bring me here his ox, and every man his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and do not sin against the LORD in eating with the blood.' " And every man of all the people brought his ox with him that night, and slew them there. ³⁵ And Saul built an altar to the LORD: The same was the first altar that he built to the LORD. ³⁶ And Saul said, "Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them." And they said, "Do whatever seems good to you." Then the priest said, "Let us draw near here to God." ³⁷ And Saul asked counsel of God, "Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will you deliver them into the hand of Israel?" But He did not answer that day. ³⁸ And Saul said, "Draw yourselves near here, all the chief of the people: And know and see in which respect this sin has been this day. ³⁹ For, as the LORD lives, which saves Israel, though it be through Jonathan my son, he shall surely die." But there was not a man among all the people that answered him. ⁴⁰ Then he said to all Israel, "Be yourselves on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side." And the people said to Saul, "Do what seems good to you." ⁴¹ Therefore Saul said to the LORD God of Israel, "Give a perfect lot." And Saul and Jonathan were taken: But the people escaped. ⁴² And Saul said, "Cast lots between me and my son Jonathan." And Jonathan was taken. ⁴³ Then Saul said to Jonathan, "Tell me what you have done." And Jonathan told him, and said, "I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand, and lo, I must die." ⁴⁴ And Saul answered, "God do so and more also: For you shall surely die, Jonathan." ⁴⁵ And the people said to Saul, "Shall Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: As the LORD lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground; for he has worked with God this day." Thus the people rescued Jonathan, so that he did not die. ⁴⁶ Then Saul went up from following the Philistines: And the Philistines went to their own place.

³⁴ In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: He laid its foundation in Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.

¹⁶ And the king said to him, "How many times shall I adjure you that you tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?

⁴ Yet when Edom says, "We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places"; thus says the LORD of hosts, "They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, 'The border of wickedness', and, 'The people against whom the LORD has indignation forever.'

⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said to Him, "I adjure You by the living God, that You tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God."

¹³ Then certain ones of the vegabond Jews, exorcists, took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, "We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches."

² And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. ³ And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

²¹ But the LORD was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

⁶ Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: For the LORD your God, he it is that does go with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you.

⁵ There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: As I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.

⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

¹ And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side of the Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea in front of Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard of it;

³ And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and to Ai,

⁹ And they said to him, "From a very far country your servants are come because of the name of the LORD your God: For we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,

³⁰ For which reason the LORD God of Israel says, 'I said indeed that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before Me forever': But now the LORD says, 'Far be it from Me; for those that honor Me I will honor, and those that despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.

⁹ And I was with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies out of your sight, and have made you a great name, like to the name of the great men that are in the earth.

²⁴ And His fame went throughout all Syria: And they brought to Him all sick people that were taken with diverse diseases and torments, and those who were possessed with devils, and those who were lunatics, and those that had the palsy; and He healed them.

¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus,

²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in the midst of them."

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world." Amen.

⁹ Then the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, "Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not hold your peace: ¹⁰ For I am with you, and no man shall lay hold on you to hurt you: For I have many people in this city."

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that the preaching by me might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

²² The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
