⁴¹ And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all.

²⁴ And He said to them, "This is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

¹⁸ For I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God has come." ¹⁹ And He took bread, gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you: Do this in remembrance of Me." ²⁰ Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you.

³⁰ And it came to pass, as He sat to eat with them, that He took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave to them.

⁴⁸ I am the bread of life. ⁴⁹ Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. ⁵⁰ This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it, and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down from heaven: If any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever: And the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." ⁵² The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?" ⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you. ⁵⁴ Whoever eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. ⁵⁶ He who eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, dwells in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father has sent Me, and I live by the Father: So he who eats Me, even he shall live by Me. ⁵⁸ This is that bread which came down from heaven: Not as your fathers ate manna, and are dead: He who eats of this bread shall live forever."

⁴ and all drank the same spiritual drink: For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: And that Rock was Christ.

¹⁶ The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? ¹⁷ For we being many are one bread, and one body: For we are all partakers of that one bread.

²³ For I have received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread: ²⁴ And when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, "Take, eat: This is My body, which is broken for you: Do this in remembrance of Me." ²⁵ In the same manner He also took the cup, when he had sipped, saying, "This cup is the new testament in My blood: This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." ²⁶ For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you teach the Lord's death until He comes. ²⁷ Therefore whoever eats this bread, and drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. ²⁸ But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. ²⁹ For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
