¹⁵ And He charged them, saying, "Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod."

¹⁸ In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at sunset, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month at sunset. ¹⁹ Seven days there shall be no leaven found in your houses: For whoever eats that which is leavened, that soul shall even be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land. ²⁰ You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations you shall eat unleavened bread.

¹¹ No food offering, which you shall bring to the LORD, shall be made with leaven: For you shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire.

¹⁹ and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight. ²⁰ And you shall put some of your honor on him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient. ²¹ And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the LORD: At his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation. ²² And Moses did as the LORD commanded him: And he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation: ²³ And he laid his hands on him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: For the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: If you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. ¹⁰ Take heed now; for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary: Be strong, and do it.

²⁰ And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: Fear not, nor be dismayed: For the LORD God, even my God, will be with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

²⁷ Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causes to err from the words of knowledge.

¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus,

⁶ Then Jesus said to them, "Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees."

¹¹ How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread, rather that you should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?" ¹² Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

¹⁵ Then the Pharisees went, and took counsel how they might entangle Him in His speech. ¹⁶ And they sent out to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Master, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; neither do you care for any man: For You do not regard the person of men. ¹⁷ Tell us therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?" ¹⁸ But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, "Why do you tempt Me, you hypocrites?

¹³ Then they sent to Him certain ones of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch Him in His words.

¹ In the meantime, when there was an innumerable multitude of people gathered together, so that they trod upon one another, He began to say first of all to His disciples, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. ² For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; nor hid, that shall not be known.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "Take heed, and beware of covetousness: For a man's life does not subsist in the abundance of the things which he possesses."

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? ⁷ Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: ⁸ Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

²¹ I charge you before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that you observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

¹³ I authoritatively give you instructions in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who witnessed a good confession before Pontius Pilate;

¹⁴ Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
