³ But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him;

³ Now therefore, what do you have on hand? Give me five loaves of bread in my hand, or what there is present." ⁴ And the priest answered David, and said, "There is no common bread on hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have at least kept themselves from women." ⁵ And David answered the priest, and said to him, "Truly women have been kept from us for about three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yes, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel." ⁶ So the priest gave him hallowed bread: For there was no bread there but the show-bread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away.

⁵ Or have you not read in the law, how on the Sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?

⁴ And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read, that He which made them at the beginning 'made them male and female',

¹⁶ and said to Him, "Do You hear what these say?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes; have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?"

³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

²⁵ And He said to them, "Have you never read what David did when he had need, and was hungry; he and those that were with him? ²⁶ How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?"

¹⁰ And have you not read this scripture; 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner:

²⁶ And concerning the dead, that they rise: Have you not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke to him, saying, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'?

³ And Jesus answering them said, "Have you not even read this, what David did, when he hungered, and those who were with him;

²⁶ He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?"
