¹ Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. ² And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. ³ And when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread." ⁴ But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.' " ⁵ Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, ⁶ and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down: For it is written, 'He shall give His angels charge concerning You': And, 'in their hands they shall bear You up, lest at any time You dash Your foot against a stone.' " ⁷ Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' " ⁸ Again, the devil took Him up into an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; ⁹ and said to Him, "I will give You all these things, if You will fall down and worship me." ¹⁰ Then Jesus said to Him, "Get away from here, Satan: For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.' " ¹¹ Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. ¹² Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, He departed into Galilee; ¹³ and leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, inside the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali: ¹⁴ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, ¹⁵ "The land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; ¹⁶ the people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to those that sat in the region and shadow of death, light has sprung up." ¹⁷ From that time on Jesus began to preach, and to say, "Repent: For the kingdom of heaven is at hand." ¹⁸ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: For they were fishermen. ¹⁹ And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." ²⁰ And they immediately left their nets, and followed Him. ²¹ And going on from there, He saw two other brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them. ²² And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed Him. ²³ Then Jesus went all around Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all sorts of disease among the people. ²⁴ And His fame went throughout all Syria: And they brought to Him all sick people that were taken with diverse diseases and torments, and those who were possessed with devils, and those who were lunatics, and those that had the palsy; and He healed them. ²⁵ And large multitudes of people followed Him from Galilee, from Decapolis, from Jerusalem, from Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel."

¹² And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry you where I do not know; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find you, he shall slay me: But I your servant fear the LORD from my youth.

¹⁶ And they said to him, "Behold now, there be with your servants fifty strong men; let them go, we implore you, and seek your master: Lest peradventure the Spirit of the LORD has taken him up, and cast him on some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, "You shall not send.

¹² Then the Spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, "Blessed be the glory of the LORD from His place."

¹⁴ So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong on me.

³ And He put forth the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looks toward the north; where the seat of the image of jealousy was, which provokes to jealousy.

¹ Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of the LORD's house, which looks eastward: And behold twenty-five men were at the door of the gate; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

²⁴ Afterwards the Spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to those of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

² In the visions of God He brought me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, nearby which was a structure like the frame of a city on the south.

⁵ So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.

¹² And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. ¹³ And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him. ¹⁴ Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, ¹⁵ and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent, and believe the gospel."

¹ Moreover Jesus, being full of the Holy Spirit returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, ² being tempted forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing: And when they were ended, afterward He hungered. ³ And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread." ⁴ And Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written that, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.' " ⁵ Then the devil, taking Him up onto a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. ⁶ And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this power, and the glory of them: For that is delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I desire. ⁷ Therefore, if You will worship me, all shall be Yours." ⁸ And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan: For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.' " ⁹ Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here: ¹⁰ For it is written, 'He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep You': ¹¹ And, 'In their hands they shall bear You up, lest at any time You dash Your foot against a stone.' " ¹² And Jesus answering said to him, "It is said, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' " ¹³ And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season.

³⁰ After this I will not talk much with you: For the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in Me.

³⁹ Moreover when they had come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch did not see him any more: And he went on his way rejoicing.

¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

¹⁸ For in that He Himself has suffered being tempted, He is able to succor those that are tempted.

¹⁵ For we do not have a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. ¹⁶ Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

¹⁸ And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and got himself up into the mount: And Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

²⁸ And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. And He wrote upon the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

⁹ When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tablets of stone, even the tablets of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I stayed in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither ate bread nor drink water:

¹⁸ And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which you sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

²⁵ Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.

¹⁸ I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brothers, like to you, and will put My words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

⁸ And he arose, and ate and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights to Horeb the mount of God.

¹⁸ Now in the morning as He returned to the city, He was hungry.

¹² Then the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry:

² being tempted forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing: And when they were ended, afterward He hungered.

⁶ Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with His journey, sat thus on the well: And it was about the sixth hour.

¹⁴ Since then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; ¹⁵ and deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. ¹⁶ For truly He did not take on Him the nature of angels; but He took on him the seed of Abraham. ¹⁷ Therefore, in all things it behoved him to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

¹ Now the serpent was more subtle than any wild beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Yes, has God said, 'All of you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?' "All of you: In KJV, Ye; hence "All of you" signifies a plural "you" ² And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: ³ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.' " ⁴ And the serpent said to the woman, "You shall not surely die: ⁵ For God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

²⁹ And Jacob boiled soup: And Esau came from the field, and he was faint: ³⁰ And Esau said to Jacob, "Feed me, I implore you, with that same red soup; for I am faint": Therefore his name was called Edom. ³¹ And Jacob said, "Sell me your birthright this day." ³² And Esau said, "Behold, I am at the point about to die: And what profit shall this birthright do to me?" ³³ And Jacob said, "Swear to me this day"; and he swore to him: And he sold his birthright to Jacob. ³⁴ Then Jacob gave Esau bread and soup of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up, and went his way: Thus Esau despised his birthright.

³ And the children of Israel said to them, "We wish to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we ate bread to the full; for you have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

⁴ And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: And the children of Israel also wept again, and said, "Who shall give us flesh to eat? ⁵ We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic: ⁶ But now our soul is dried away: There is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

⁹ Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? ¹⁰ Have not you made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. ¹¹ But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face. ¹² And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only on himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

⁴ And Satan answered the LORD, and said, "Skin for skin, yes, all that a man has will he give for his life. ⁵ But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face. ⁶ And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your hand; but save his life. ⁷ So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.

¹⁷ And they sinned even more against Him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. ¹⁸ And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. ¹⁹ Yes, they spoke against God; they said, "Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? ²⁰ Behold, He smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can He give bread also? Can He provide flesh for His people"?

¹⁷ And behold a voice from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

³³ Then those who were in the ship came and worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

³ And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread."

⁹ Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here:

³¹ And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: ³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith does not fail: And when you are converted, strengthen your brethren."

²⁰ And immediately he preached Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.

⁵ For this reason, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter might have tempted you, and our labor be in vain.

¹⁶ lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright.

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: Behold, the devil shall throw some of you into prison, that you may be proven; and you shall have tribulation ten days: Be faithful to death, and I will give you a crown of life.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. ¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come: For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to the death.

⁸ And Moses said, "This shall be, when the LORD gives you flesh to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to the full; for the LORD hears your murmurings which you murmur against Him: And what are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD."

¹⁵ And when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, "It is manna": For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, "This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.

³⁵ And the children of Israel ate manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate manna, until they came to the borders of the land of Canaan.

¹⁵ You shall keep the feast of unleavened bread: (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it you came out from Egypt: And none shall appear before Me empty):

³ And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.

¹² And she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a jar: And behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die. ¹³ And Elijah said to her, "Fear not; go and do as you have said: But make me of it a little cake first, and bring it to me, and after make for you and for your son. ¹⁴ For thus says the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the jar of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain on the earth. ¹⁵ And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: And she, and he, and her house, ate many days. ¹⁶ And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the jar of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Elijah.

⁴² And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of grain in its husk. And he said, "Give to the people, that they may eat. ⁴³ And his servitor said, "What, should I set this before a hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: For thus says the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave of it. ⁴⁴ So he set it before them, and they ate, and left of it, according to the word of the LORD.

¹ Then Elisha said, "Hear you the word of the LORD; Thus says the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. ² Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, "Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, "Behold, you shall see it with your eyes, but shall not eat of it.

¹⁶ Ever since those days, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but only ten: When one came to the fat-press to draw out fifty vessels from the press, there were but only twenty.20 measures was equivalent to 9 gallons, 3 quarts; or approximately 36.9 liters ¹⁷ I smote you with blasting, and with mildew, and with hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you all have not turned to Me', says the LORD. ¹⁸ 'Now consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid, consider it. ¹⁹ Is the seed still in the barn? Yes, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not brought forth: From this day forward I will bless you.' "

⁹ You all are cursed with a curse: For you all have robbed Me, even this whole nation. ¹⁰ Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, all of you, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now with this", says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open to you the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing upon you, such that there shall not be room enough to receive it. ¹¹ And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the harvest time in the field", says the LORD of hosts.

⁷ Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' "

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to Him, "Get away from here, Satan: For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.' "

¹⁶ But Jesus said to them, "They need not depart; you give them something to eat." ¹⁷ And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves, and two fish." ¹⁸ He said, "Bring them here to Me." ¹⁹ Then He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to His disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. ²⁰ Then they all ate, and were filled: And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. ²¹ Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

³⁸ He said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go and see." And when they knew, they said, "Five, and two fish." ³⁹ Then He commanded them to make everyone sit down by companies upon the green grass. ⁴⁰ Then they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. ⁴¹ And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all. ⁴² Yet they all ate, and were filled. ⁴³ And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fish. ⁴⁴ And those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men.

⁴ And His disciples answered Him, "From where can a man satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?" ⁵ Therefore He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" And they said, "Seven." ⁶ Then He commanded the people to sit down on the ground: And He took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and they set them before the people. ⁷ And they had a few small fish: And he blessed them, and also commanded to set the fish before them. ⁸ So they ate, and were filled: And they took up seven baskets of the leftover food fragments. ⁹ Now those who had eaten were about four thousand: And He sent them away.

⁴ And Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written that, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.' "

⁸ And Jesus answered and said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan: For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.' "

¹² And Jesus answering said to him, "It is said, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' "

⁵ When Jesus then lifted up His eyes, and saw a large company of people come to Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" ⁶ Moreover this He said to prove him: For He Himself knew what He would do. ⁷ Philip answered Him, "Two hundred silver coins worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little." ⁸ One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him, ⁹ "There is a lad here that has five barley loaves and two small fish; but what are they among so many?" ¹⁰ And Jesus said, "Make the men sit down." Now there was a lot of grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. ¹¹ And Jesus took the loaves; and when He had given thanks, He distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; and likewise of the fish as much as they desired. ¹² When they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing is lost." ¹³ Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained left over from those who had eaten. ¹⁴ Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, "This is truly that Prophet that should come into the world." ¹⁵ When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take Him by force, to make Him a king, He departed again into a mountain by Himself alone.

³¹ Our fathers ate manna in the desert; as it is written, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.' " ³² Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses did not give you that bread from heaven; but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. ³³ For the bread of God is He which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world." ³⁴ Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread forevermore." ³⁵ And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life: He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. ³⁶ But I said to you, That you also have seen Me, and do not believe. ³⁷ All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me; and he who comes to Me I will in no case cast out. ³⁸ For I came down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him that sent Me. ³⁹ And this is the Father's will which has sent Me, that of all which He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. ⁴⁰ And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes on Him, may have everlasting life: And I will raise him up at the last day." ⁴¹ The Jews then murmured at Him, because He said, "I am the bread which came down from heaven." ⁴² And they said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, 'I came down from heaven'?" ⁴³ Jesus therefore answered and said to them, "Do not murmur among yourselves. ⁴⁴ No one can come to Me, unless the Father which has sent Me draws him: And I will raise him up at the last day. ⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught of God.' Every man therefore that has heard, and has learned of the Father, comes to Me. ⁴⁶ Not that any man has seen the Father, except He which is of God, He has seen the Father. ⁴⁷ Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes in Me has everlasting life. ⁴⁸ I am the bread of life. ⁴⁹ Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. ⁵⁰ This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it, and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down from heaven: If any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever: And the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." ⁵² The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?" ⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you. ⁵⁴ Whoever eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. ⁵⁶ He who eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, dwells in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father has sent Me, and I live by the Father: So he who eats Me, even he shall live by Me. ⁵⁸ This is that bread which came down from heaven: Not as your fathers ate manna, and are dead: He who eats of this bread shall live forever." ⁵⁹ These things He said in the synagogue, as He taught in Capernaum.

⁶³ It is the Spirit that makes alive; the flesh profits nothing: The words that I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life.

⁴ For whatever things were written beforehand were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:

⁴ And the porch that was in the front of the house, the length of it was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was a hundred and twenty: And he overlaid it within with pure gold.

¹ And the rulers of the people dwelled at Jerusalem: The rest of the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to dwell in other cities.

¹⁸ All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty and four.

² For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves on the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.

¹ Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: For from now on the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come into you.

¹⁶ O Lord, I beseech You, according to all Your righteousness, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain: Because of our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those that are around us.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

⁵³ and came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many.

¹¹ Jesus answered, "You could have no power at all against Me, unless it was given you from above: Therefore he that delivered Me to you has the greater sin."

² But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it; for it is given to the Gentiles: And they shall tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.

¹⁰ Have not you made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

²³ For you shall be in league with the stones of the field: And the wild beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.

⁷ The angel of the LORD encamps all around those that fear Him, and delivers them.

²⁰ He keeps all his bones: Not one of them is broken.

¹¹ For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. ¹² They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

⁴ But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.' "

⁹ Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here: ¹⁰ For it is written, 'He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep You': ¹¹ And, 'In their hands they shall bear You up, lest at any time You dash Your foot against a stone.' " ¹² And Jesus answering said to him, "It is said, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' "

¹⁴ And no wonder; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation?

² For this reason the people chided with Moses, and said, "Give us water that we may drink." And Moses said to them, "Why do you chide with me? For which reason do you tempt the LORD?"

⁷ And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, "Is the LORD among us, or not?"

²² Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not listened to my voice;

¹⁶ You shall not tempt the LORD your God, as you tempted him in Massah.

¹⁸ And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.

⁴¹ Yes, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

⁵⁶ Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and did not keep His testimonies:

⁹ When your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My work.

¹⁴ But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony: If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

¹⁵ And now we call the proud happy; yes, those that work wickedness are established; yes, those that tempt God are even delivered.' "

¹⁶ and said to Him, "Do You hear what these say?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes; have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?"

⁴² Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner: This is the LORD'S doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?

³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, ³² 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

⁹ Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they shall carry you out."

⁹ Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.

⁹ When your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years.

⁴ When he showed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honor of his excellent majesty many days, even a hundred and eighty days.

¹¹ And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things in which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

¹⁶ Do not be afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; ¹⁷ for when he dies he shall carry nothing away: His glory shall not descend after him.

³⁰ The king spoke, and said, "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?"

⁵ Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple,

²⁶ For what is a man profited, if he gains the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

⁵ Then the devil, taking Him up onto a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. ⁶ And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this power, and the glory of them: For that is delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I desire. ⁷ Therefore, if You will worship me, all shall be Yours."

²⁴ By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; ²⁵ choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; ²⁶ esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: For he had respect for the recompense of the reward.

²⁴ For "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away:

¹⁵ Do not love the world, nor the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever."

⁷ The LORD makes poor, and makes rich: He brings low, and lifts up. ⁸ He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and He has set the world upon them.

¹¹ Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him: All nations shall serve Him.

⁷ He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the dunghill; ⁸ that He may set Him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

¹⁵ By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

⁵ 'I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me. ⁶ And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and I have also given him the wild beasts of the field to serve him.

³⁷ You, O king, are a king of kings: For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. ³⁸ And wherever the children of men dwell, He has given the wild beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all. You are this head of gold.

³² And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild beasts of the field: They shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He wills."

¹⁸ O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor: ¹⁹ And for the majesty that He gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: He slew whom he would, and he kept alive whom he would; and he set up whom he would; and he put down whom he would.

²⁶ This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it. ²⁷ TEKEL; you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting. ²⁸ PERES; your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians."

¹⁵ and said to them, "What will you give me, and I will deliver Him to you?" And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world: Now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

³ Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God, and went to God;

¹¹ of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

²⁰ Rather, I am saying that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: And I would not intend that you should have fellowship with devils. ²¹ You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: You cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

⁴ In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

⁶ Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, "See that you do not do it: I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: Worship God: For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

¹⁶ And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

⁸ And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things. ⁹ Then he said to me, "See that you do not do it: For I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: Worship God."

¹³ You shall fear the LORD your God, and serve him, and shall swear by his name. ¹⁴ You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are all around you;

²⁰ You shall fear the LORD your God; him shall you serve, and to him shall you hold, and swear by his name.

¹⁴ Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: And put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve you the LORD.

³ And Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you return to the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts to the LORD, and serve Him only: And He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."

¹ And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

⁶ Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

¹² And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your power; only on himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

¹ Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

⁶ Set a wicked man over him: And let Satan stand at his right hand.

¹ And He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. ² And the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, O Satan; even the LORD that has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you: Is this not a brand plucked out of the fire?"

²³ But He turned, and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan: You are an offense to Me: For you do not savor the things that are of God, but those that are of men."

⁷ Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

⁹ Resist him steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished within your brethren that are in the world.

⁶ and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down: For it is written, 'He shall give His angels charge concerning You': And, 'in their hands they shall bear You up, lest at any time You dash Your foot against a stone.' "

⁵³ Do you not think that I can now pray to My Father, and He shall give Me more than twelve legions of angels at this time?

² And behold, there was a large earthquake; for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. ³ His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: ⁴ And the keepers shook in fear of him, and became as dead men. ⁵ And the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not fear: For I know that you seek Jesus, which was crucified.

¹³ And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.

¹³ And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season.

⁴³ Moreover an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.

⁵³ When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not stretch forth any hands against Me: But this is your hour, and the power of darkness."

¹⁶ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen among angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

⁶ And again, when He brings the first-begotten into the world, He says, "And let all the angels of God worship Him."

¹¹ Then I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels all around the throne, and the beasts, and the elders: And the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ¹² saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing."

³ For Herod had laid hold of John and bound him, and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.

¹⁴ Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

¹⁷ For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife; for he had married her.

²⁰ yet above all added this, that he shut up John in prison.

¹⁴ Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: And a fame of Him went out through the region all around.

³¹ and came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the Sabbath days.

²⁴ For John had not yet been cast into prison.

⁴³ Now after two days He departed from there, and went into Galilee.

⁵⁴ This is the second miracle that Jesus again did, when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.

¹⁰ And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: And the border of their inheritance was to Sarid: ¹¹ And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam; ¹² and turned from Sarid eastward toward the sun rise to the border of Chislothtabor, and then goes out to Daberath, and goes up to Japhia, ¹³ and from there passes on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goes out to Remmonmethoar to Neah; ¹⁴ and the border compasses it on the north side to Hannathon: And its outgoings are in the valley of Jiphthahel: ¹⁵ And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: Twelve cities with their villages. ¹⁶ This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.

³² The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families. ³³ And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, to Lakum; and its outgoings were at Jordan: ³⁴ And then the coast turns westward to Aznothtabor, and goes out from there to Hukkok, and reaches to Zebulun on the south side, and reaches to Asher on the west side, and to Judah on Jordan toward the sun rise. ³⁵ And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth, ³⁶ and Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor, ³⁷ and Kedesh, and Edrei, and Enhazor, ³⁸ and Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages. ³⁹ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

²³ And you, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be brought down to hell: For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

²⁴ And when they had come to Capernaum, those who received tribute money came to Peter, and said, "Does not your Master pay tribute?"

²¹ Then they went into Capernaum; and without delay on the Sabbath day He entered into the synagogue, and taught.

²³ And He said to them, "You will surely say this proverb to Me, 'Physician, heal yourself: Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country.' "

³⁰ But passing through the midst of them He went His way, ³¹ and came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the Sabbath days.

¹² After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples: And they did not remain there many days.

⁴⁶ So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

¹⁷ And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.

²⁴ When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither His disciples, they also took to ships, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

⁵⁹ These things He said in the synagogue, as He taught in Capernaum.

¹ Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at first He lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward more grievously afflicted her by way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. ² The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: Those that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.

²² Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

¹⁵ And was there until the death of Herod: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I have called My Son."

²³ And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, "He shall be called a Nazarene."

¹⁷ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "He Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."

¹⁷ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, ¹⁸ "Behold My Servant, whom I have chosen; My beloved, in whom My soul is well pleased: I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall show judgment to the Gentiles. ¹⁹ He shall not strive, nor cry out; neither shall any man hear His voice in the streets. ²⁰ A bruised reed He shall not break, and smoking flax He shall not quench, until He sends forth judgment to victory. ²¹ And in His name shall the Gentiles trust."

⁵⁴ But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen in this manner?"

⁵⁶ But all this was done that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples forsook Him, and fled.

³⁷ For I say to you, That this which is written must still be accomplished in Me, 'And He was counted among the transgressors': For the things concerning Me have an end."

⁴⁴ And He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me."

²⁵ But this came to pass, that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.'

²⁸ After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst."

³⁶ For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, "A bone of Him shall not be broken." ³⁷ And again another scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced."

⁷ And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in Mount Naphtali, and Shechem in Mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.

³² And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammothdor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.

¹¹ (Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire), that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

²⁹ In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

¹ Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at first He lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward more grievously afflicted her by way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

⁵ Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell on it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

²² A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.

²² There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

¹⁹ though You have severely broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

¹⁰ Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; ¹¹ because they rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the Most High: ¹² Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; they fell down, and there was none to help. ¹³ Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands asunder.

² The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: Those that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.

⁶ I the LORD have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand, and will keep You, and give You as a covenant to the people, for a light to the Gentiles; ⁷ to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and those who sit in darkness out of the prison house.

¹ Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen on you. ² For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: But the LORD shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen on you. ³ And the Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

¹⁶ Give glory to the LORD your God, before He causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, He turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it gross darkness.

⁸ seek Him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: That calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is His name:

⁸ Rejoice not against me, O my enemy: When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light to me.

⁷⁸ through the tender mercy of our God; by which the Dayspring from on high has visited us, ⁷⁹ to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."

³² a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel."

² and saying, "Repent: For the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

¹³ But go and learn what this means: 'I will have mercy, and not sacrifice': For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

⁷ And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'

¹² And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

⁹ He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

¹¹ He answered and said to them, "Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

²⁴ He put forth another parable to them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field:

⁴⁷ Again, the kingdom of heaven is likened to a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

¹ "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

³² I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

² And He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

¹¹ 'Even the very dust of your city, which sticks on us, we wipe off against you: Nevertheless be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near to you.' ¹² But I say to you, That it shall be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom, than for that city. ¹³ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented a long while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. ¹⁴ But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

⁷ I say to you, That likewise more joy shall be in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine just persons, which need no repentance.

¹⁰ Likewise, I say to you, There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

⁴⁷ And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

³⁸ Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁹ Therefore repent, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord shall come;

¹⁸ When they heard these things, they held their peace; and glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life."

³⁰ Indeed, the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men everywhere to repent:

²¹ testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ But brought word first to those of Damascus, and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works worthy for repentance.

²⁵ in meekness instructing those that are in opposition; if God peradventure will give them repentance concerning the acknowledgment of the truth; ²⁶ and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

¹ Therefore leaving the first principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

¹ Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: And he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

¹⁰ Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring forth My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt."

¹¹ And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach to the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:

¹⁷ the plain also, and Jordan, and its coast, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdothpisgah eastward.

¹¹ And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained to Joash the Abiezrite: And his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. ¹² And the angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, "The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor.

¹⁹ So he departed there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: And Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle on him. ²⁰ And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, "Let me, I implore you, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you. And he said to him, "Go back again: For what have I done to you? ²¹ And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered to him.

⁷⁰ He also chose David His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: ⁷¹ From following the ewes that were pregnant with young, He brought him to feed Jacob His people, and Israel His inheritance. ⁷² So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

¹⁴ Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah, "I was not a prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:sycomore fruit; or, wild figs ¹⁵ And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, 'Go, prophesy to My people Israel.'

¹⁶ And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. ¹⁷ So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the carrying away into Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations. ¹⁸ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this: After His mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child from the Holy Spirit.

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

²⁹ Then Jesus departed from that place, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

¹⁸ And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this Rock you declared I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

¹⁶ Now as He walked by the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: For they were fishers. ¹⁷ And Jesus said to them, "Follow after Me, and I will make you become fishers of men." ¹⁸ And immediately they forsook their nets, and followed Him. ¹⁹ And when He had gone a little further from that place, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets. ²⁰ And immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after Him.

³¹ And again, departing out of the borders of Tyre and Sidon, He came to the Sea of Galilee, through the midst of the Decapolis.

¹ And it came to pass, that as the people pressed upon Him to hear the Word of God, He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, ² and saw two ships standing by the lake: But the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets. ³ Moreover He entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and implored him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And He sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. ⁴ Now when He had ceased speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draw." ⁵ And Simon answering said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: Nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net." ⁶ And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fish: And their net broke. ⁷ Therefore they beckoned to their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. ⁸ When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord." ⁹ For he was astonished, and all who were with him, at the draw of the fish which they had taken: ¹⁰ And so also were James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not fear; from this time forward you shall catch men." ¹¹ Therefore when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed Him.

¹⁴ Simon, (whom He also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

⁴⁰ One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. ⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah", which is, being interpreted, the Christ. ⁴² And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, He said, "You are Simon the son of Jonah: You shall be called Cephas", which is by interpretation: A stone.

¹ After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.

⁸ One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,

¹ After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias; and here is the way He showed Himself.

²⁷ But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; ²⁸ and base things of the world, and things which are despised, God has chosen, yes, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are: ²⁹ That no flesh should glory in His presence.

⁹ And it shall come to pass, that every thing which lives, and moves, wherever the rivers shall come, shall live: And there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come there: For they shall be healed; and every thing shall live where the river comes. ¹⁰ And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even to Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many.

²² But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me; and let the dead bury their dead."

⁹ And as Jesus departed from there, He saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of customs: And He said to him, "Follow Me." And he arose, and followed Him.

²⁴ Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

²¹ Jesus said to Him, "If you desire to be perfect, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: And come and follow Me."

¹⁷ And Jesus said to them, "Follow after Me, and I will make you become fishers of men." ¹⁸ And immediately they forsook their nets, and followed Him.

¹⁴ And as He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of customs, and said to him, "Follow Me." And he arose and followed Him.

²⁷ And after these things He went forth, and saw a publican named Levi sitting at the receipt of customs: And He said to him, "Follow Me."

⁵⁹ Moreover He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father."

⁴³ The following day Jesus went forth into Galilee, and found Philip, and said to him, "Follow Me."

²⁶ If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant shall also be: If anyone serves Me, My Father will honor him.

²² Jesus said to him, "If I will that he tarry until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me."

²⁰ And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to those that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those that are under the law; ²¹ to those that are without law, as without law (not being without law to God, but under the law to Christ), that I might gain those that are without law. ²² To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

¹⁶ But be that as it may, I did not burden you: Nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

²¹ And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered to him.

⁶⁰ I made haste, and did not delay to keep Your commandments.

³⁷ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

²⁷ Then Peter answered and said to Him, "Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed You; what shall we therefore have?"

²⁸ Then Peter began to say to Him, "Look, we have left all, and have followed You." ²⁹ And Jesus answered and said, "Truly I say to you, There is no man who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the gospel's, ³⁰ but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. ³¹ But many that are first shall be last; and the last first."

²⁸ Then Peter said, "Look, we have left all, and followed You." ²⁹ And He said to them, "Truly I say to you, There is no man that has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, ³⁰ who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting."

¹⁶ to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen; I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood:

¹ Then after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain apart,

²⁰ Then the mother of Zebedee's children came to Him with her sons, worshiping Him, and desiring a certain thing from Him. ²¹ And He said to her, "What do you desire?" She said to Him, "Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, the one on Your right hand, and the other on the left, in Your kingdom."

³⁷ And He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with Him, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

¹⁷ And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and He surnamed them Boanerges, which is, "The sons of thunder";

³⁷ And He permitted no man to follow Him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

² Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other of His disciples were together.

² Moreover he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

⁹ who said to his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brothers, nor knew his own children: For they have observed your word, and kept your covenant. ¹⁰ They shall teach Jacob your judgments, and Israel your law: They shall put incense before you, and whole burnt sacrifice on your altar.

²⁰ And immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after Him.

⁵⁹ Moreover He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." ⁶⁰ Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their dead: But you go and preach the kingdom of God."

²⁶ "If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his father, mother, wife, children, brethren, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

³³ So likewise, whoever he is among you who does not forsake all that he has, he cannot be My disciple.

¹⁶ Therefore from now on, we regard no man according to the flesh: Yes, though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet from now on we know Him no longer.

⁸ They said in their hearts, "Let us destroy them together": They have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

³ Who forgives all your iniquities; Who heals all your diseases;

¹⁶ When the evening had come, they brought to Him many who were possessed with devils: And He cast out the spirits with His word, and healed all who were sick: ¹⁷ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "He Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."

³⁵ Then Jesus went around all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

⁷ And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' ⁸ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: Freely you have received, freely give.

⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

⁹ And when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue:

¹⁹ When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes, and takes away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the wayside.

⁵⁴ And when He had come into His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, "How does this Man have this wisdom, and these mighty works?

¹⁴ And Jesus went forth, and saw a large crowd, and was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick.

³⁰ And large multitudes came to Him, having with them those that were lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and He healed them: ³¹ So that the multitude wondered, when they saw the mute to speak, the maimed be made whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: And they glorified the God of Israel.

¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end shall come.

³² And at evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick, and those who were possessed with devils. ³³ And the entire city was gathered together at the door. ³⁴ And He healed many that were sick with diverse diseases, and cast out many devils; and He did not permit the devils to speak, because they knew Him.

³⁹ And He preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

¹⁰ For He had healed many; therefore as many as had plagues pressed upon Him to touch Him.

² And when the Sabbath day had come, He began to teach in the synagogue: And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, "From what source does this Man obtain these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that even such mighty works are performed by His hands?

⁶ And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went all around the villages, teaching.

¹⁵ And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. ¹⁶ Then He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. ¹⁷ And the book of the prophet Isaiah was delivered to Him. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written, ¹⁸ "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bruised,

⁴⁰ Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with diverse diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them, and healed them. ⁴¹ And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, "You are Christ the Son of God." And He, rebuking them, did not permit them to speak: For they knew that He was Christ.

⁴³ And He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: For this purpose I am sent." ⁴⁴ And He preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

¹⁷ And it came to pass on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem: And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

¹⁷ And He came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of His disciples, and a large multitude of people out of all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him, and to be healed of their diseases;

²² Then Jesus answering said to them, "Go your way, and tell John the things you have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the gospel is preached to the poor.

¹ And it came to pass afterward, that He went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: And the twelve were with Him,

¹¹ Now when the people knew it, they followed Him: And He received them, and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those that had need of healing.

⁹ And heal the sick that are there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'

¹⁰ And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.

¹ And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon Him with the elders,

¹ After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: For He would not walk in Jewry,Jewry; a district inhabited by Jews because the Jews sought to kill Him.

²⁰ Jesus answered him, "I spoke openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, where the Jews always assemble; and in secret I have said nothing.

¹⁵ so that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. ¹⁶ Also a multitude came out of the cities all around to Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and those who were vexed with unclean spirits: And they were healed, every single one.

¹³ Then Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem: ¹⁴ And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name." ¹⁵ But the Lord said to him, "Go your way: For he is a chosen vessel to Me, to bear My name before the Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel: ¹⁶ For I will show him what great things he must suffer for My name's sake." ¹⁷ And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, "Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me, that you might receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit." ¹⁸ And immediately there fell from his eyes as if it had been scales: And he received sight immediately; and arose, and was baptized. ¹⁹ And when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then Saul was with the disciples which were at Damascus for some days. ²⁰ And immediately he preached Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. ²¹ But all that heard him were amazed, and said; "Is this not he that destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and came here for that intent purpose, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?" ²² But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt in Damascus, proving that this is truly Christ. ²³ And after many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: ²⁴ But their laying in wait was known to Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. ²⁵ Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket. ²⁶ And when Saul came to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: But they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. ²⁷ But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord in the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. ²⁸ And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem. ²⁹ And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: But they went about to slay him. ³⁰ Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. ³¹ Then the churches had rest throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, were multiplied. ³² And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he also came down to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. ³³ And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy. ³⁴ And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ makes you whole: Arise, and make your bed." Then he arose immediately. ³⁵ And all that dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him, and turned to the Lord. ³⁶ Now at Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is translated Dorcas: This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds, which she did. ³⁷ And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: Whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. ³⁸ And in as much as Lydda was near to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, desiring that he would not delay to come to them. ³⁹ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper chamber: And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. ⁴⁰ But Peter put them all out, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning himself toward the body said, "Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes: And when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴¹ Moreover he gave her his hand, lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. ⁴² And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord. ⁴³ And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

³⁸ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him.

⁴ And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

²⁵ "And now behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no longer.

¹⁵ And how shall they preach, except if they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

²⁶ and said, "If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: For I am the LORD that heals you."

²⁷ So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.

⁶ Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: And the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David wherever he went.

³¹ For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: And his fame was in all nations all around.

¹ And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.

¹⁷ And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him on all nations.

²³ Then Jesus went all around Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all sorts of disease among the people.

⁶ saying, "Lord, my servant lays at home sick from the palsy, grievously tormented.

¹³ And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done to you." And his servant was healed that same hour. ¹⁴ Now when Jesus had come into Peter's house, He saw his wife's mother laying down, and sick with a fever. ¹⁵ So He touched her hand, and the fever left her: And she arose, and ministered to them. ¹⁶ When the evening had come, they brought to Him many who were possessed with devils: And He cast out the spirits with His word, and healed all who were sick:

²⁸ And when He had come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there two possessed with devils met him, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

² Then behold, they brought to Him a man sick from the palsy, lying on a bed: And Jesus seeing their faith said to the one sick from the palsy, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you." ³ And behold, certain ones of the scribes said within themselves, "This Man blasphemes." ⁴ But Jesus knowing their thoughts said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? ⁵ For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you'; or to say, 'Arise, and walk'? ⁶ But that you may know that the Son of Man has power upon earth to forgive sins", then He said to the one sick from the palsy, "Arise, take up your bed, and go your way into your house." ⁷ And he arose, and departed to his house. ⁸ Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such power to men.

²⁶ And the fame of this spread abroad into all that land.

³¹ But when they were departed, they spread abroad His fame in all that country. ³² As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a mute man possessed with a devil.

²² Then someone was brought to Him who was possessed with a devil, blind, and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute both spoke and saw.

¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard about the fame of Jesus,

²² And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same borders, and cried to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil."

¹⁵ "Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic, and sorely vexed: For he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.

¹⁸ And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: And the child was cured from that very hour.

²⁸ And immediately His fame spread abroad throughout all the region around Galilee.

³² And at evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick, and those who were possessed with devils.

³ Then they came to Him, bringing one sick of the palsy, who was carried by four men.

² And when He had come out of the ship, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, ³ who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: ⁴ Because he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: Neither could any man tame him. ⁵ And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. ⁶ But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped Him, ⁷ and cried out with a loud voice, and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, You Son of the Most High God? I adjure You by God, that You do not torment me." ⁸ For He said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit." ⁹ Also He asked him, "What is your name?" And he answered, saying, "My name is Legion: For we are many." ¹⁰ And he implored Him greatly that He would not send them away out of the country. ¹¹ Now there was a large herd of swine feeding there near the mountains. ¹² And all the devils implored Him, saying, "Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them." ¹³ And immediately Jesus gave them leave. Then the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: And the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (there were about two thousand); and choked in the sea. ¹⁴ And those who fed the swine fled, and went and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. ¹⁵ Then they came to Jesus, and saw him who was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: And they were afraid. ¹⁶ And those who saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. ¹⁷ Then they began to beseech Him to depart out from their coasts. ¹⁸ And when He came into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil implored Him that he might be with Him.

³³ Then in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, ³⁴ saying, "Let us alone; what have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did you come to destroy us? I know who You are; the Holy One of God." ³⁵ Then Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Hold your peace, and come out of him." And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, it came out of him, and did not hurt him.

¹⁵ But more and more there went a fame of Him everywhere: And large multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.

²⁷ And when He went forth to land, there met Him a certain man out of the city, who had devils a long time, and wore no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God most high? I beseech You, do not torment me." ²⁹ (For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: And he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he broke the bands, and was driven by the devil into the wilderness.) ³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, "What is your name?" And he said, "Legion": Because many devils were entered into him. ³¹ And they implored Him that He would not command them to go out into the deep. ³² Moreover there was a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: And they implored Him that He would permit them to enter into them. And He permitted them. ³³ Then the devils went out of the man, and entered into the swine: And the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. ³⁴ When those who fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city, and in the country. ³⁵ Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: And they were afraid. ³⁶ They who saw it also told them by what means he that was possessed by the devils was healed. ³⁷ Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes all around implored Him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: And He went up into the ship, and returned back again.

²¹ Others said, "These are not the words of one who has a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?"

²³ And they wrote letters by them in this manner: The apostles, elders, and brethren send greetings to the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia:

⁴¹ And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

¹ And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain: And when He was set, His disciples came to Him:

¹ When He had come down from the mountain, large multitudes followed Him.

¹⁵ But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew Himself from there: And large multitudes followed Him; and He healed them all;

² And large multitudes followed Him; and He healed them there.

⁷ But Jesus withdrew Himself with His disciples to the sea: And a large multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea, ⁸ also from Jerusalem, and Idumea, and from beyond the Jordan; and those around Tyre and Sidon, when they had heard what great things He did, a large multitude came to Him.

²⁰ And he departed, and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him: And all men marveled.

¹⁹ And the whole multitude sought to touch Him: For there went virtue out of Him, and healed them all.
