⁶ But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret: And your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone; and there a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day. ²⁵ And when he saw that he did not prevail against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. ²⁶ And he said, "Let me go, for the day breaks." And he said, "I will not let you go, unless you bless me." ²⁷ And he said to him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Jacob." ²⁸ And he said, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel: For as a prince you have power with God and with men, and have prevailed."Israel; that is, A prince of God ²⁹ And Jacob asked him, and said, "Tell me, I implore you, your name." And he said, "Why is it that you ask after my name?" And he blessed him there.

³³ He went in therefore, and shut the door on them two, and prayed to the LORD.

¹⁵ The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.

²⁰ Come, My people, enter into your chambers, and shut your doors behind you: Hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation pass over.

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

⁴ That your charitable deeds may be in secret: And your Father which sees in secret shall Himself reward you openly.

²³ And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray: And when evening came, He was there alone.

⁴⁸ Nathanael said to Him, "From where do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, "Do not touch Me; for I am not yet ascended to My Father: But go to My brethren, and say to them, 'I ascend to My Father, and your Father; and to My God, and your God.' "

⁴⁰ But Peter put them all out, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning himself toward the body said, "Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes: And when she saw Peter, she sat up.

⁹ On the next day, as they went on their journey, and drew near to the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

³⁰ And Cornelius said, "Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

⁵ For those that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but those that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
