² For there were that said, "We, our sons, and our daughters, are many: Therefore we take up grain for them, that we may eat, and live.

⁵⁷ And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph in quest of buying grain; because the famine was so grievous in all lands.

² And he said, "Behold, I have heard that there is grain in Egypt: Get yourselves down there, and buy for us from that country; so that we may live, and not die."

⁸ And Judah said to Israel his father, "Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and you, and also our little ones.

³ Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: And the fruit of the womb is his reward. ⁴ As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. ⁵ Happy is the man that has his quiver full of them: They shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

² For you shall eat the labor of your hands: Happy shall you be, and it shall be well with you. ³ Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of your house: Your children like olive plants all around your table. ⁴ Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD.

² If you all will not hear, and if you all will not lay it to heart, to give glory to My name", says the LORD of hosts, "I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: Yes, I have cursed them already, because you all do not lay it to heart.
