⁸ The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in mercy. ⁹ He will not always chide, nor will He keep His anger forever. ¹⁰ He has not dealt with us according to our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. ¹¹ For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. ¹² As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

⁴ For Your mercy is great above the heavens: And Your truth reaches to the clouds.

⁸ For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

¹⁷ Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: But in love to my soul You have delivered it from the pit of corruption: For You have cast all my sins behind Your back.

³ For you had cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed around me: All Your billows and Your waves passed over me. ⁴ Then I said, 'I am cast out of Your sight; yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.' ⁵ The waters encompassed me, even to the soul: The depth closed me in all around, the weeds were wrapped about my head. ⁶ I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me forever: Yet You have brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

⁵⁸ And her neighbors and her cousins heard how the Lord had shown great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

¹⁰ and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
