¹⁶ Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; with the intent the promise might be certain to all the seed; not only to those which are of the law, but also to those which are of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

² Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you: For I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

²⁴ being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: ²⁵ Whom God has set out to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; ²⁶ to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: That He might be just, and the justifier of him that believes in Jesus.

¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised: That he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed to them also:

¹ Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

⁸ That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: But the children of the promise are counted as the seed.

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers:

⁷ Therefore, know that those who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. ⁸ And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you shall all nations be blessed." ⁹ So then those who are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. ¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: For it is written, "Cursed is everyone that does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." ¹¹ But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident: For, "The just shall live by faith." ¹² And the law is not of faith: But, "The man who does them shall live in them."

²² But the scripture has concluded all are under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to those that believe.

⁵ even when we were dead in sins, has vivified us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved);

⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God:

⁷ that being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

¹³ For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by none greater, He swore by Himself, ¹⁴ saying, "Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you." ¹⁵ And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. ¹⁶ For men truly swear by the greater: And an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. ¹⁷ In which God, more abundantly willing to show the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath: ¹⁸ That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: ¹⁹ Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into that within the veil;

¹⁰ Therefore better yet, brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election sure: For if you do these things, you shall never fall:
