¹³ And the LORD said to me, "Cast it to the potter": A goodly price which I was appraised at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

² For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He has no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. ³ He is despised and rejected by men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid our faces from Him as it were; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

⁷ "For a small moment have I forsaken you; but with great mercies I will gather you. ⁸ In a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you", said the LORD your Redeemer. ⁹ "For this is like the waters of Noah to Me: For as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so I have sworn that I would not be wroth with you, nor rebuke you. ¹⁰ For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed", said the LORD who has mercy on you.

³ Then Judas, who had betrayed Him, when he saw that He was condemned, repented himself, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, ⁴ saying, "I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to us? You see to that." ⁵ Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hung himself. ⁶ And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, "It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price for blood." ⁷ And they took counsel, and bought the potter's field with the silver pieces, to bury strangers in. ⁸ Therefore that field was called 'The field of blood', even to this day. ⁹ Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of Him that was valued, whom those of the children of Israel did value; ¹⁰ and gave them for the potter's field, as the LORD appointed me."

¹² And when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.

¹⁸ Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst apart in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out. ¹⁹ And it was known to all the dwellers at Jerusalem; therefore that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, 'The field of blood'.

¹¹ This is the 'stone which was set at naught by you builders, which has become the head of the corner.'
