¹² to whom it was revealed that it was not for themselves, but for us, that they dispensed those things which have now been announced to you by them who proclaimed to you the glad tidings with a holy spirit sent from heaven; into which things angels have an earnest desire to look narrowly.

²⁰ and the cherubs shall have their wings stretched forth above and shall overshadow the propitiatory with their wings; and their faces shall be towards each other. The faces of the cherubs shall be towards the propitiatory.

²³ Behold I will pour forth to you the dictate of my spirit: and teach you this word of mine;

² and the spirit of God will rest upon him; a spirit of wisdom and understanding; a spirit of counsel and majesty; a spirit of knowledge and piety: ³ by this spirit he will be filled with the fear of God. He will not judge according to opinion, nor will he reprove according to report; ⁴ but he will administer justice to the lowly, and work conviction in the meek of the earth. And he will smite the earth with the word of his mouth, and with a breath from his lips destroy the wicked. ⁵ His loins will be girded with saving goodness, and his reins clothed with truth. ⁶ And a wolf shall pasture with a lamb; and a leopard shall lie down with a kid; and the calf, and bull and lion shall pasture together, and a little child shall tend them.

¹⁵ till a spirit come on you from on high. Then will a desert become a Channel and Channel will be accounted a forest;

³ for I will give water in their thirst to them who are travelling in a desert. I will put my spirit on thy seed, and my blessings on thy children; ⁴ and they shall spring up like grass among water, and like a willow by the side of a flowing stream. ⁵ One will say, "I belong to God;" and another will call himself by the name of Jacob; and another will write on his hand, "I belong to God;" and will surname himself by the name of Israel.

¹ [c] Lord, who bath believed this report of ours, and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been made manifest?

¹⁹ and the secret was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night; whereupon he blessed the God of heaven, and said,

²² He it is who revealeth deep and hidden things. He knoweth the things which are in darkness. And with him is the light.

²⁸ There is none but God in heaven who revealeth secrets. He indeed hath made known to the king Nabuchodonosar what must come to pass in latter days. With regard to thy dream, and the visions of thy head, on thy bed, this is it. ²⁹ Thy thoughts, king, on thy bed ascended to what might come to pass hereafter. And he who revealeth secrets made known to thee the things which must come to pass.

⁴⁷ And the king answered and said to Daniel, Of a truth, your God is the God of Gods, and the Lord of kings, the revealer of secrets; since thou hast been enabled to reveal this secret.

¹³ And I heard a holy one speaking; and a holy one said to the Phelmoni who spoke, "How long shall this vision last, respecting the sacrifice which is taken away, and the sin of desolation which is permitted; and the sanctuary and the host be trodden down?"

²⁴ Seventy weeks are set apart for thy people and for the holy city; for finishing sin offerings, and for sealing up sin offerings; and blotting out iniquities, and making atonement for iniquities; and for bringing in an everlasting righteousness; and for sealing vision and prophet; and for anointing the Holy of Holies.

¹ In the third year of Cyrus, king of the Persians, a word was revealed to Daniel, surnamed Baltasar. And the word is true and great power and knowledge was given him by the vision.

⁵ Then I Daniel looked, and lo! two others stood, one on this bank of the river and the other on the other bank of the river. ⁶ And one said to the man clothed with the flowing robes who was over the water of the river, How long to the end of these wonderful things which thou hast spoken?

⁹ And he said, Come Daniel. Because these words are shut up and sealed until the end of a time.

¹³ But as for thee, come and go to rest, for still there will be days and hours to the final accomplishment. And thou shalt stand up for thy portion at the end of days.

²⁸ And it shall come to pass after these things that I will pour out a portion of my spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; and your old men shall dream dreams; and your young men shall see visions.

⁷ Seeing the Lord will not do any thing without giving warning to his servants;

¹⁰ And when I pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and compassion, then will they look to him whom they pierced, and they will mourn for him with a mourning as for a beloved; and be afflicted with sorrow as for a first born.

²⁵ At that time Jesus took occasion to say, I thank thee, O father, Lord of heaven and earth; that thou having hid these things from the wise and prudent, hast revealed them to babes.

²⁷ All things are delivered up to me by my father; and none but the father knoweth the son; nor doth any know the father, but only the son, and he to whom the son is pleased to reveal him.

¹⁷ And Jesus answering, said to him, Happy art thou, Simon Barjona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed this to thee, but my father who is in heaven.

¹⁵ Then he said to them, Go to all the world, and proclaim the glad tidings to all mankind.

²⁶ Now it had been revealed to him by the holy spirit, that he should not see death until he had seen the Christ of the Lord;

⁶ Accordingly, they departed and went through the villages, proclaiming the glad tidings, and performing cures every where.

¹⁰ Thus, I assure you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God for one reforming sinner.

²⁶ Now when the monitor whom I Will send to you from the Father, is come; the spirit of truth who proceedeth from the Father, he will testify concerning me.

⁷ But, I tell you this truth, it is to your advantage that I go away: for if I do not go, the monitor will not come to you; but when I go I will send him to you. ⁸ And when he is come, he will convince the world in respect to sin, and in respect to righteousness, and in respect to judgment ⁹ in respect to sin, because they do not believe in me; ¹⁰ and in respect to righteousness because I go to my Father and you see me no more; ¹¹ and in respect to judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. ¹² I have still many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. ¹³ But when he the spirit of truth, is come, he will lead you into all the truth; for he will not speak from himself, but will speak whatsoever he shall have heard, and will explain to you the train of events. ¹⁴ He will glorify me, for he will receive of mine, and communicate to you. ¹⁵ All that the Father hath is mine; therefore I said, He will receive of mine, and communicate to you.

² And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a mighty rushing wind, which filled the whole house where they were sitting. ³ And there appeared to them separate tongues, as of fire, and it settled on each of them. ⁴ And they were all filled with a holy spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the spirit gave them to make solemn addresses.

¹⁷ "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, that I will pour out a portion of my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; and your young men shall see visions; and your old men shall dream dreams; ¹⁸ and upon my servants, and upon my handmaids, in those days I will pour out a portion of my spirit, and they shall prophesy:

³³ Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he hath poured out this which you now see and hear.

⁸ Then Peter being filled with a holy spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders of Israel,

³¹ And while they were praying, the place in which they were assembled was shaken. And they were all filled with a Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.

²⁵ Now when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they set out on their return to Jerusalem, and communicated the glad tidings to many villages of the Samaritans.

⁴⁴ While Peter was yet speaking these words the holy spirit fell on all them who heard this word.

¹⁰ Therefore as he saw this vision, we immediately endeavoured to go to Macedonia, concluding from it, that the Lord called us to publish the glad tidings to them.

¹⁵ so that as far as it rests with me, I am ready to publish the glad tidings to you also who are at Rome.

¹⁷ For by it there is revealed a justification of God's appointment because of belief, that we may believe. As it is written, "But the just shall live because of belief:

¹⁵ and how shall they proclaim, unless they be sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of them who proclaim the joyful message of peace"who proclaim the glad tidings of good things."

¹⁹ by virtue of signs and wonders, by the power of the spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem and the country around even to Illyricum, I have confirmed the glad tidings of the Christ,

¹⁰ and which God hath revealed to us by his spirit. For this spirit searcheth all things, even the depths of God.

²² who hath sealed us, and given us the earnest of the spirit in our hearts;

⁶ in purity, in knowledge, in long suffering, in gentleness, in a holy spirit, in undissembled love,

¹² for I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it; but by revelation of Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ to reveal his son to me, that I might proclaim the good tidings of him among the nations immediately; I did not consult flesh and blood,

¹⁰ in order that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and the powers in the heavenly kingdom, by means of the congregation,

⁵ that our glad tidings did not come to you in word only, but with power, and with a holy spirit, and with much assurance. As you knew what manner of persons we were among you ⁶ for your sakes, you indeed became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having embraced the word in much affliction, with the joy of a holy spirit;

⁹ For you, brethren, remember our labour and our toil: for working day and night that we might not be burthensome to any of you, we proclaimed to you the glad tidings of God.

⁴ God giving a joint testimony, by signs, and wonders, and divers miracles, and distributions of a holy spirit, according to his own will.

² For we have had the glad tidings proclaimed to us, as they also had; but the word which they heard did not profit them; as it was not mixed up with belief by the hearers.

¹³ These all died in faith without receiving the things promised, but they viewed them at a distance, and were persuaded of, and embraced them, and acknowledged that they were strangers and sojourners in the land.

³⁹ Though these all received a testimonial by means of their belief, they did not obtain the promise, ⁴⁰ God having provided something better for us, that without us they should not be made perfect.

²⁵ but the decree of the Lord endureth forever", and this is the decree which hath been proclaimed as glad tidings for you;

¹¹ And I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the animate beings and the elders and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing."
