¹ Then David the king with the chiefs of this host, appointed to their services the sons of Asaph and Aiman and Idithun, who chanted with kinyras and with nablas and with cymbals, and an account was taken by poll of those employed in these services.

²⁸ and over the olive yards and sycamine orchards in the plains, Ballanan the Gedorite: and over the stores of oil, Joas;

⁵ so in preference to all my sons, for the Lord hath given me many sons, he hath made choice of my son Solomon, to set him on the throne of the Lord's kingdom, over Israel.

¹ At length Solomon began building the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, on mount Amoria, where the Lord appeared to his father David; in the place which David had prepared at the threshing floor of Orna, the Jebusite. ² He began building in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign. ³ And these were the mensurations, with which Solomon began to build the house of God. ⁴ The first measurement was in length sixty cubits, and in breadth twenty cubits, including an ailam in front of the house of the same breadth, as that of the house, twenty cubits, and the height of which was a hundred and twenty cubits. And he overlaid the house on the inside, with pure gold.

¹⁸ and Chiram sent him by the hand of his servants, ships and seamen, and they went with Solomon's servants to Sopphira, and brought thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and came to Solomon.

¹ When the queen of Saba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to Jerusalem with a great retinue, to try him with hard questions, and brought with her camels carrying spices in abundance, and gold and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon and propounded to him all the questions which were in her mind,

⁵ and said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in my own country concerning thine acts and concerning thy wisdom; ⁶ but I did not believe the reports until I came and saw with my own eyes. Now behold I was not told one half of the greatness of thy wisdom. Thou hast surpassed the report which I heard. ⁷ Happy are these men of thine! happy these thy servants who wait upon thee continually and hear thy wisdom!

⁹ Then she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones. There were no such spices as those which the queen of Saba gave to king Solomon.

²⁰ Moreover all the utensils of king Solomon were of gold. And all the utensils of the house of the forest of Libanus were plated with gold. Silver was not of estimation in the days of Solomon for any purpose.

²⁴ And they brought, every one his gifts, vessels of silver and vessels of gold, with raiment, stacte, perfumes, horses and mules; and this every year. ²⁵ And Solomon had four thousand breeding mares for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and these he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

²⁷ And the king made gold and silver in Jerusalem, plenteous as stones, and cedars as the sycamine trees in the plain for multitude.

Therefore when he had built vessels at Gesiongaber, ³⁷ Eliezer the son of Dodia, from Marisa, prophesied against Josaphat, saying, Because thou hast contracted a friendship with Ochozias, the Lord hath destroyed thy work, and thy vessels are wrecked so that they could not go to Tharsis.

¹³ and looked, and lo! the king was on his platform, and at the entrance were the chiefs, with the trumpets. And the chiefs around the king, and all the people of the land, were full of joy; and the trumpets were sounding, accompanied by musicians with their instruments of musick, and the singers singing songs of praise. Upon which she rent her robe and cried with a loud voice, Treason! Treason!

⁷ His government shall be great and to his peace there is no boundary, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to reestablish it, and support it with judgment and justice, henceforth and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

¹⁰ "The bricks are fallen; but come, let us hew stones and let us cut down sycamines and cedars and build for ourselves a tower."

¹¹ And he in reply said to them, To you it hath been granted to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens; but to them it hath not been granted.

³⁵ so that there was a full accomplishment of that which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth with parables, I will utter things kept hid from the foundation of the world.

²⁸ Thereupon Jesus said to him, Verily I say to you, With respect to you who have followed me, at the renovation, when the son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, you also shall sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Speak to her therefore that she may assist me. ⁴¹ In reply to which, Jesus saith to her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubling thyself about many things. ⁴² But there is one thing necessary. As for Mary, she hath chosen that good portion which shall not be taken from her.

³⁷ Happy those servants, whom the master, when he cometh, shall find watching. Verily I say to you, he will gird himself, and having placed them at table, will come and wait upon them.

⁴ So running before, he climbed a sycamine tree that he might see him, for he was to pass that way.

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to contradict or withstand.

⁵³ Therefore Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you. ⁵⁴ He who eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, hath an everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For this flesh of mine is food indeed; and this blood of mine is indeed drink. ⁵⁶ He who eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he. who eateth me, even he will live by me.

¹⁵ I no longer call you servants; because the servant doth not know what his master doth. But I have called you friends, because I have made known to you all that I heard from my Father.

²⁵ The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails; and put my finger into the print of the nails; and put this hand of mine into his side, I will not believe. ²⁶ And after eight days, his disciples were again within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said, Peace be to you. ²⁷ Then he saith to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger and behold my hands! and reach thy hand and put it in to my side; and be not an unbeliever, but a believer. ²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God. ²⁹ Jesus saith to him, Thomas, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed? Happy they who have not seen me and yet believe.

²³ And when he came and saw the grace of God, he was filled with joy and exhorted them all to adhere to the Lord with a firm determination of heart.

⁹ things indeed, which as it is written, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived; " which God hath prepared for them who love him;

⁸ For to one is given, by the spirit, a word of wisdom; and to another, a word of knowledge according to the same spirit;

¹² Because the distribution of this religious offering not only supplieth the wants of the saints, but also superaboundeth with many thanksgivings to God; ¹³ [by the experience of this distribution they glorify God for your avowed subjection to the glad tidings of the Christ;] therefore, for the liberality of this contribution for them and for all; ¹⁴ and for the supplication which is made for you by them who love you on account of the supereminent favour of God for you, ¹⁵ thanks be to God for this his unspeakable gift.

⁸ but with respect to the son, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: The sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of rectitude: ⁹ Thou didst love righteousness and hate iniquity, Therefore God, thy God anointed thee With the oil of joy above thy associates!"

¹² For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and penetrateth even to the separation of animal life and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is capable of discerning the desires and thoughts of the heart.

⁵ And if any of you wanteth wisdom, let him ask it of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it will be given him.

¹⁶ Be not led astray, my beloved brethren: ¹⁷ Every good donation, and every perfect gift, is from above, and cometh down from the father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will he hath impregnated us with a word of truth, that we may be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

¹⁷ Now the wisdom which cometh from above, is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easily to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

² Beloved, we are now children of God. Though it hath not yet been manifested what we shall be, yet we know that when he shall appear we shall be like him: that we shall see him as he is.

¹⁷ And when I saw him I fell at his feet as one dead. Whereupon he laid his right hand on me, and said to me, "Fear not. I am the first and the last,

⁵ one of the elders saith to me, "weep not; behold! the lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, hath prevailed to open the volume and to loose the seven seals thereof."

⁸ And when he took the book, the four animate beings and the four and twenty elders fell down before the lamb, having, every of them, kitharas and golden cups full of incense which is the prayers of the saints.

¹⁶ And he hath on his mantle and on his thigh this name written King Of Kings And Lord Of Lords.
