¹⁹ Now therefore all ye, the prophets of Baal, call before me all his servants and his priests. Let not a man be wanting; for I have a great sacrifice for Baal. Whoever is missing shall not live. This Jehu did in subtilty, that he might destroy all the servants of Baal.

¹⁹ Now therefore send and gather to me all Israel to mount Carmel, and the prophets of shame, four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the bowers four hundred, who eat at Jezebel's table.

⁶ Whereupon the king of Israel assembled all the prophets, about four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go up to Remmath Galaad to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord will certainly deliver into the king's hands.

¹³ And Elisha said to the king of Israel, What hast thou to do with me? Go to the prophets of thy father and the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said to him, I am fearful that the Lord hath called these three kings to deliver them into the hands of Moab.

¹⁸ Then Jehu assembled all the people and said to them, Achab served Baal a little, Jehu will serve him much.

⁷ Are you not speaking in the presence of the Lord?

⁵ He who shall provide a net to catch his friend; spreadeth it for his own feet.

² but have renounced the secrets of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor dealing deceitfully with the word of God, but by the clear manifestation of the truth recommending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

³ but I am afraid lest by some means as the serpent by his subtilty deceived Eve, so your affections should be corrupted from their singleness for the Christ.

¹³ For such as they are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ Nor is this to be wondered at; for Satan himself putteth on the appearance of an angel of light: ¹⁵ No wonder, then, if his ministers transform themselves to appear like ministers of righteousness. But their end will be according to their works.

¹⁶ Now be it so that I did not burthen you, but being crafty I took you in by artifice. ¹⁷ Did I take an undue advantage of you by any of them whom I sent to you? ¹⁸ I entreated Titus to go, and with him I sent the brother. Did Titus take any undue advantage of you? Did we not walk in the same spirit? Did we not in the same steps?

³ For our exhortation did not proceed from error, nor from impurity; nor was it with deceit;
