²⁷ And the satraps and the generals and the governors and the mighty men of the king gathered round and viewed the men with astonishment; for the fire had not had any power over their body. Even the hair of their heads was not singed, nor were their mantles changed, nor a smell of fire on them.

⁴⁶ And the Lord will deliver thee this day into my hand, and I will kill thee, and cut off thy head, and give thy carcass, and the carcasses of the army of the Philistines this day, to the birds of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel; ⁴⁷ and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saveth not with a sword or a spear. For the battle is the Lord's, and the Lord will deliver you into our hands.

¹⁹ But now, Lord our God, save us out of his hand, and all the kingdoms of the earth will know that thou the Lord alone art God.

¹⁸ and let them know that thy name is the Lord; that thou alone art the Most High over all the earth.

⁷ Ascribe to the Lord, ye families of nations; ascribe to the Lord glory and honour ⁸ ascribe to the Lord glory to his name. Take sacrifices and come to his courts: ⁹ worship the Lord in his holy court: Let all the earth be moved at his presence.

¹¹ Thy hand, Lord, was lifted high; but they did not know it; but when they know they will be ashamed. Zeal will seize an uninstructed people; even now a fire devoureth the adversaries.

² therefore when thou passest through water, I am with thee, and the streams shall not overwhelm thee: and when thou passest through fire, thou shalt not be burned up; the flame shall not quite consume thee.

Because every one heard them speaking in his own peculiar dialect; ⁷ therefore they were astonished and expressed their amazement, saying one to another, Behold! are not all these men who speak, Galileans?" ⁸ How then do we hear, every one in his own native tongue! ⁹ Parthians and Medes and Elamites and the inhabitants of Mesopotamia and Judea, and Capadocia, Pontus and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia and Pamphilia, Egypt and the parts of Lybia about Gyrene, the Roman strangers also both Jews and Proselytes, ¹¹ Cretans and Arabs, we hear them speaking, in our own tongues, the wonderful dispensations of God. ¹² So they were all amazed and in suspense, saying to one another, What can be the meaning of this?

²⁶ For the king is acquainted with these things, to whom therefore I speak with freedom. For I am persuaded that none of these things have escaped his notice. For this hath not been done in a corner.

³⁴ Therefore I intreat you to take refreshment, for this is conducive to your safety: for not a hair shall fall from the head of any of you.

³⁴ quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were strengthened from weakness, became mighty in battle, repelled armies of aliens.
