⁷ Thus saith the Lord who delivered thee; the God of Israel, "Hallow him who despised his life, him who was abhorred by the nations, the slaves of the Arehons. Kings shall see him and chiefs shall rise up and they shall worship him for the sake of the Lord; because the Holy One of Israel is faithful, therefore I have chosen thee.

¹⁰ Now therefore, O kings, be wise: Be instructed, all ye, who judge the earth. ¹¹ Serve the Lord with fear: and rejoice for him with trembling. ¹² Keep fast hold of instruction; the Lord may be angry and you may perish out of the right way. When his anger suddenly blazeth forth, happy are all they who have trusted in him.

⁶ As for me, I am a Worm, and no man; the scorn of men and the people's contempt. ⁷ All that see me have laughed me to scorn; they said with their lips while they shaked their head, ⁸ "He trusted in the Lord, let him deliver him; let him save him, since he delighteth in him."

³¹ Ambassadors shall come from Egypt; Ethiopia shall stretch out her hands to God.

⁷ Because for thy sake I have borne reproach, confusion hath covered my face. ⁸ To my brethren I am become an alien, and a stranger to the children of my mother. ⁹ For my zeal for thy house hath consumed me; and on me have fallen the reproaches of them, who reproached thee.

¹⁹ For thou knowest my reproach, and my shame and my confusion; all mine adversaries are before thee.

¹⁰ Let the kings of Tharsis and the isles bring gifts; the kings of the Arabs and Saba offer presents. ¹¹ Let all the kings pay him homage; all the nations serve as vassals.

⁷ "Things done now and not formerly!" Yes, never in former days didst thou hear these things. Thou shouldst not say, "Indeed I know them."

¹⁷ Thus saith the Lord who hath redeemed thee, the Holy One of Israel, I am thy God. I pointed out to thee, how to find the way in which thou shouldst walk.

¹ [M] Hearken to me, isles; and ye nations attend! [After a long time one will stand up saith the Lord.] From my mother's womb he mentioned my name [[M] The Messiah]

²³ and kings shall be thy foster fathers; and their queens thy nursing mothers. And on the face of the ground they shall pay thee homage, and lick the dust of thy feet. And thou shalt know that I am the Lord, and that they who wait for me shall not be ashamed.

⁶ My back I have given to scourges, and my cheeks to be slapped with an open hand, and I turned not my face from the shame of spittles.

¹⁵ so many nations will express admiration at him; and kings will shut their mouths, because they, to whom no publication was made concerning him, shall see; and they, who had not heard, will understand.

³ but his appearance is mean and defective beyond the sons of men. Being a man in affliction and acquainted with grief, because his countenance was dejected, he was despised and disesteemed.

³ And kings will walk by thy light: and nations by thy splendour.

¹⁰ therefore strangers shall rebuild thy walls and their kings shall wait upon thee. For on account of my wrath I smote thee, but for mercy's sake I have loved thee;

¹⁶ And thou shalt suck the milk of nations, and feed on the wealth of kings, and shalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour, and that thy Redeemer is the God of Israel.

⁸ and remove three shepherds in one month; and my soul will be weighed down against them. For as their souls roared against me,

²⁸ even as the son of man came not to be waited on, but to wait, and to give his life a ransom for many.

⁶⁷ Then they spat in his face and struck him with their fists,68 and smote him with staves, saying,

³⁸ At the same time two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right hand, and the other on his left. ³⁹ And they who passed by reviled him, shaking their heads, ⁴⁰ and saying, Thou the demolisher of the temple and the rebuilder of it in three days, save thyself. If thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross. ⁴¹ In like manner also the chief priests, and the Scribes, and the elders, deriding him, said, ⁴² He saved others; cannot he save himself? If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and We will believe him. ⁴³ He trusted in God; let him now deliver him, if he delighteth in him: for, he said, I am the Son of God. ⁴⁴ Nay, even the robbers, who were crucified with him, upbraided him in the same manner.

²⁷ For which is greater; he who is at table; or he who waiteth? Is not he, who is at table? But I am among you as he who waiteth.

¹⁸ so they with one consent cried out, saying, Away with this man and release to us Barabbas.

²³ But they with loud clamours persisted in their demands that he should be crucified. So the clamours of them and of the chief priests prevailed,

³⁵ And the people stood looking on; and both they and the rulers mocked him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be the Christ, the chosen of God.

⁴⁰ Upon this they all cried out again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now this Barabbas was a robber.

⁶ Upon which when the chief priests, and the officers saw him, they cried, saying, Crucify him; crucify him. Pilate saith to them, Take him yourselves and crucify him; for I find no fault in him.

¹⁵ Whereupon they cried out, Away, away with him; crucify him. Pilate saith to them, Shall I crucify your king? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

⁴ to whom you are come as to a living stone, by men indeed rejected, but with God chosen and precious,

⁷ And to the angel of the congregation at Philadelphia write thus saith the Holy one and the True, who hath the key [the Son] of David, who openeth and none shutteth, and who shutteth and none openeth,

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of the world are become [the kingdom] of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for the ages of the ages.
