³ And he carried me away in spirit to a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast full of blasphemous names, which had seven heads and ten horns.

¹² But it may be, that when I am gone from thee, the Spirit of the Lord will carry thee away to a land which I know not. So that when I shall go and tell Achab, and he shall not find thee, he will kill me. Now thy servant is one who feareth the Lord from his youth.

¹⁶ Then they said to him, Behold there are with thy servants fifty valiant men. Let them, we pray thee, go and seek thy master. Perhaps a blast of the Lord hath lifted him up and cast him by the Jordan, either on one of the mountains, or one of the hills. And Elisha said, You shall not send.

⁵ Who is this coming up cloathed in white leaning on her beloved? Under a citron tree I awaked thee. It was there thy mother bare thee. There she who brought thee forth suffered the pangs of childbirth.

¹² Then a blast of wind took me up and I heard behind me a sound of a great earthquake, "Blessed be the glory of the Lord from this place of his:"

³ And he stretched forth the similitude of a hand and took hold of me by the crown of the head and a blast of wind lifted me up between heaven and earth, and in a vision of God, brought me to Jerusalem, to the vestibule of the gate facing the north, where was the pillar of the possessor.

²⁴ And a blast of wind took me up and brought me to the land of the Chaldeans, to the captivity, in a vision, by the spirit of God.

⁸ I attended to its horns, and behold another little horn sprouted up in the midst of them; and three of the horns which were before it were rooted out from before it. And behold in this horn there were eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth speaking great things.

²⁰ And concerning the ten horns, which were on its head, and that other, which sprouted up and shook off some of the first; and which had eyes and a mouth speaking great things and the appearance of which was greater than the rest,

²⁵ and shall speak words against the Most High and wear out the holy ones of the Most High and think of changing times and law, and his shall be put in its power for a time and times and the half of a time.

³⁶ Because it is still for a time, therefore he will act according to his pleasure. And this king will be exalted and magnified above every god, and will speak swelling words, and prosper until the indignation is completed: for it is coming to a completion.

³⁹ And when they came up out of the water, the spirit of the Lord conveyed Philip away. And the eunuch saw him no more. For he proceeded on in his journey rejoicing,

⁴ who setteth himself against, and exalteth himself above, all that is called God, or an object of worship; so as to seat himself as God in the temple of God, pointing himself out that he is God.

¹⁰ I was in the spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like the sound of a trumpet,

² Thereupon I was immediately enrapt, and behold a throne was set in the heaven, and one was sitting on the throne.

³ And another sign was seen in heaven and behold! a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns and on his heads seven crowns;

⁶ and the woman fled to the wilderness where she hath a place prepared of God that she may be nourished there a thousand two hundred and sixty days.

¹⁴ and to the woman were given two wings of the great eagle that she might fly to the wilderness to her place where she is nourished for a time and times and the half of a time from the face of the serpent.

¹ And I was placed on the sand of the sea, and I saw a beast coming up out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns, and on its horns ten crowns, and on its heads a name of blasphemy. ² And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority. ³ And I saw one of its heads as if wounded to death; and this deadly wound of it was healed; and the whole earth followed this beast with admiration. ⁴ And they worshipped the dragon who had given the beast authority; and they worshipped the beast, saying, "Who is like this beast? Who is able to fight with it?" ⁵ And to it was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies. And power was given it to make war forty-two months. ⁶ And it opened its mouth for blasphemy against God, to slander his name and his tabernacle and them, who dwell in heaven.

⁴ And the woman was clad in purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls; and she had in her hand a golden cup full of the abominations and impurity of her fornication;

⁶ And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus; and when I saw her I expressed my astonishment with great amaze. ⁷ And the angel said to me, Why art thou amazed? I will tell thee the mystery of this woman and of the beast which carrieth her, which hath seven heads and ten horns.

⁹ Let the mind which hath wisdom attend. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sitteth ¹⁰ and they are seven kings. Five have fallen, and one is and the other is not yet come; and when he hath come he must continue but a little while; ¹¹ and the beast, which was and is not, is itself the eighth and is of the seven and goeth to destruction; ¹² and the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but are about to take authority as kings one short period of time with the beast.

¹⁸ Now the woman which thou sawest is that great city which hath sovereignty over the kings of the earth.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in spirit to a great and high mountain and shewed me the great city: the holy Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,
