⁶ And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus; and when I saw her I expressed my astonishment with great amaze.

²¹ I beheld and that horn made war on the holy ones and prevailed against them

²⁵ and shall speak words against the Most High and wear out the holy ones of the Most High and think of changing times and law, and his shall be put in its power for a time and times and the half of a time.

¹³ Thine eye is too pure to behold wicked deeds, or to look on the labours of sorrow. Why lookest thou upon despisers? Wilt thou be silent when the wicked swallow up the righteous?

²⁰ and when the blood of thy witness Stephen was shed, I was standing by and gladly consenting to the slaughter of him, and watching the clothes of them who were killing him.

¹³ "I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where the throne of satan is; yet thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied the belief of me, even in the days in which Antipas was my faithful witness, who was slain among you where satan dwelleth.

⁹ And when he opened the fifth seal I saw under the altar the souls of them who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they had borne. ¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O sovereign, the holy one and the true, dost thou defer judging and avenging our blood on the inhabitants of the earth?"

¹¹ and they have conquered him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony and have not spared to expose their life even to death.

⁷ And power was given it to make war against the saints and to conquer them; and authority was given it over every tribe and tongue and nation;

¹⁵ And power was granted to it to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might speak and cause all to be slain who would not worship the image of the beast.

⁶ Because they poured out the blood of thy saints and prophets, therefore thou hast given them blood to drink, for they deserve it.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, O heaven! and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. ²¹ Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea saying, Thus with violence shall Babylon that great city be dashed down and shall be found no more. ²² And the sound of harpers and of musicians and of pipers and of trumpeters shall no more be heard in thee. And no artist of any kind shall ever be found in thee again. And the sound of a millstone shall never be heard in thee again; ²³ nor shall the light of a lamp ever shine in thee any more, nor the voice of a bridegroom and bride ever be heard in thee; for thy merchants were the nobles of the earth; for by thy bewitching arts all the nations were led astray. ²⁴ And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints and of all who were slain on the earth.
