¹ Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth were passed away and the sea is no more. ² And I John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God with men! and he will dwell with them; and they will be his people; and God himself will be with them their God. ⁴ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And there shall no more be death; nor shall grief, nor screaming, nor pain be any more; for the former things are gone. ⁵ And he who sat on the throne said, Behold I make all things new. Then he saith to me, Write that these words are true and faithful; ⁶ and he said to me, It is done; I am the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end; to him who thirsteth I will give without cost from the fountain of the water of life. ⁷ He who overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God and he shall be my son: ⁸ but the cowards and the unbelieving and abominable and murderers and prostitutes, and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their portion in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. This is the second death. ⁹ Then one of the angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues came to me and spoke to me saying, Come let me shew thee the bride the Lamb's wife. ¹⁰ And he carried me away in spirit to a great and high mountain and shewed me the great city: the holy Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, ¹¹ having the glory of God. And its lustre was like a most precious stone, like a jasper shining as chrystal; ¹² and it had a great and high wall with twelve gates and at the gates twelve angels and [on the gates] were graven the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel ¹³ On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; on the west three gates. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations on which were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. ¹⁵ And he who was talking with me had a golden reed to measure the city and its gates and its wall. ¹⁶ Now the city is a square and its length is as much as its breadth. And he measured the city with the rod twelve thousand furlongs; the length and the breadth and the height are equal. 17 And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty four cubits, the measure of a man which is that of an angel. ¹⁸ And its wall was built of jasper and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. ¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation was jasper; and the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardus; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the "twelve gates were twelve pearls. Every several gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. ²² And in it I saw no temple; for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb is its temple. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to enlighten it; for the glory of God enlightened it; and the lamb is its lamp: ²⁴ and the nations of the saved will walk in its light; and the kings of the earth will bring their glory and honour into it; ²⁵ and its gates shall not be shut by day; for there shall be no night there. ²⁶ And the glory and the honour of the nations shall be brought to it. ²⁷ And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing which defileth or maketh an abomination or [uttereth] a lie; none but they who are enrolled in the Lamb's book of life.

¹ In that day God will bring his holy sword, even his great and powerful sword, upon the dragon, the flying serpent; Upon the dragon, the crooked serpent; he will slay the dragon.

²⁰ But the wicked shall be tossed like waves and shall not be able to rest. "There is no peace, "said God, "to the wicked."

¹⁷ for there shall be a new heaven and the earth shall be new: and they shall no more remember former things, nor shall they ever come again into their mind. ¹⁸ But in this they shall find joy and gladness: for behold I am about to make Jerusalem a subject of joy, and this people of mine a subject of rejoicing. ¹⁹ And I will exult in Jerusalem and rejoice in my people; and there shall no more be heard therein, the voice of wailing nor the sound of a mournful cry.

²² For as the new heaven and the new earth, which I make, shall remain in my presence, saith the Lord; so shall your seed and your name be established.

³ and four great beasts came up out of the sea, different one from the other.

¹⁰ Now the day of the Lord will come, as a thief at night, when the heavens with a crashing roar shall pass away, and the elements shall be dissolved by fire, and the earth, and all the works thereon, shall be burned up.

¹³ and we, according to his promise, expect new heavens, and a new earth in which dwelleth righteousness!

¹ And I was placed on the sand of the sea, and I saw a beast coming up out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns, and on its horns ten crowns, and on its heads a name of blasphemy.

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and him who sat thereon from whose presence the earth and the heaven fled away and there was no place found for them.

⁵ And he who sat on the throne said, Behold I make all things new. Then he saith to me, Write that these words are true and faithful;

⁹ In honour of thee the queen stood on thy right hand, arrayed in robes of gold and embroidery. ¹⁰ Hear, daughter, and behold, and incline thine ear, and forget thy people and thy father's house. ¹¹ Because the king is enamoured of thy beauty; because he is thy Lord; ¹² when the daughters of Tyre bow down to him with gifts, the richest people of the land will supplicate thy favour. ¹³ All this honour is for the daughter of the king of Hesebon herself, she is surrounded with chain works of gold, and embroidery. ¹⁴ The virgins in her train shall be introduced to the king. They who are related to her shall be introduced to thee.

¹ The Psalm of an Ode for the sons of Kore, on the second day of the week. The Lord is great and greatly to be praised; in the city of our God; on his holy mountain. ² To the great joy of the whole earth, he is establishing firmly Sion's mountains. On the sides to the north is the city of the great king. ³ God is known in its palaces, when he undertaketh its defence.

³ Glorious things have been said of thee, city of God.

²¹ How is the faithful city become a harlot? Sion that was full of justice! In it righteousness made its abode; but now murderers.

¹ Awake, awake, Sion! clothe thyself, Sion, with thy strength. Put on thy glory. O Jerusalem, thou holy city! No more shall the uncircumcised and the unclean pass through thee.

⁵ thou shalt remember no more. For the Lord who is thy maker, whose name is the Lord of Hosts; even he who delivered thee, shall be called the God of Israel, in the whole earth.

¹⁰ And they shall rejoice in the Lord with joy.[c] Rejoice in the Lord, my soul, for he hath clothed me with the mantle of Salvation, and with an under garment of gladness, he hath crowned me as a bridegroom with a crown and adorned me as a bride, with jewels,

⁴ And thou shalt no more be called, Forsaken; nor shall thy land any more be called, The desert; but thy name shall be called My delight; and that of thy country, The inhabited land. Because the Lord is well pleased with thee therefore thy land shall be thickly inhabited:

²³ For thus saith the Lord, Again they shall use this form of words in the land of Juda and in his cities when I have brought back his captivity, "Blessed be the Lord on his righteous, his holy mountain."

²⁹ He is the bridegroom, who hath the bride. But the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth exceedingly on the account of the bridegroom's voice. This joy of mine therefore, is complete.

² for I am jealous of you with a godly jealousy. For I fitted you for one husband only, that I might present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ;

²⁵ [for Hagar meaneth mount Sina in Arabia] and answereth to the present Jerusalem, who with her children is in a state of bondage: ²⁶ but the Jerusalem above is free: this is the mother of us all;

²⁵ Husbands love your wives, even as the Christ loved the congregation, and gave himself up for it, ²⁶ that having purified it with the bath of the water, he might hallow it; indeed ²⁷ that he might present it to himself as the glorious congregation, having neither spot, nor wrinkle, nor any defect whatever; but that it may be holy and without blemish.

³⁰ because we are members of his body; of his flesh and of his bones. ³¹ Instead of this, "a man will leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and they two will be one flesh," ³² this is the great mystery, I mean in regard to Christ and the congregation.

¹⁰ For he expected that city which hath foundations, whose architect and founder is God.

²² but you are come to mount Sion, and to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels

¹⁴ For we have no abiding city here, but are seeking one to come.

¹ A REVELATION of Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to shew to his servants things which must shortly come to pass, and which he sent by his angel, and signified to his servant John,

⁴ John to the seven congregations which are in Asia; favour be to you, and peace from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven spirits which are before his throne;

⁹ I John, who am your brother, and a partaker in this affliction, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the island which is called Patmos, on the account of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹² Him who overcometh I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [the new Jerusalem which cometh down out of heaven from my God] and mine own new name.

² but leave out the court which is on the outside of the temple and measure it not; for it is given to the nations and they shall trample the holy city forty two months.

⁷ let us rejoice and exult with joy and ascribe to him the glory; for the marriage of the lamb is come and his spouse hath made herself ready ⁸ and it hath been granted her, that she should be arrayed in a cotton [robe] clean and white for this cotton is the righteous acts of the saints.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in spirit to a great and high mountain and shewed me the great city: the holy Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,

¹⁹ and if any one taketh away from the words of the book of this prophecy God will take away his portion of the tree of life and of the holy city which are written of in this book.

⁷ And I will establish this my covenant with thee and thy seed after thee, throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be thy God and the God of thy seed after thee. ⁸ And I will give thee and thy seed after thee this land in which thou sojournest; even all the land of Chanaan for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God."

¹¹ And I will fix my tabernacle among you, and my soul will not abhor you. ¹² And I will walk about among you, and be your God, and you shall be my people.

²⁷ Will God indeed dwell with men on the earth! If the heaven and the heaven of heaven will not suffice thee, far less indeed this house which I have built for thy name.

¹⁸ Will God indeed dwell with man on the earth! If the heaven, and the heaven of heaven, will not contain thee, what then is this house which I have built?

⁶ Shout for joy and be glad, inhabitants of Sion, for in the midst of it is exalted the Holy One of Israel.

³³ For this, saith the Lord, is my covenant which I will make with the house of Israel; after those days, saith the Lord, I will adapt my laws to their understanding and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God and they shall be my people.

³⁸ And they shall be my people and I will be their God.

²⁷ And I will place my sanctuary in the midst of them forever. And my habitation shall be among them; and I will be their God and they shall be my people.

⁷ And he said to me, Son of man, Thou hast seen the place of my throne and the place of my footsteps, where my name should dwell in the midst of the house of Israel forever, that the house of Israel may no more profane my holy name; neither they nor their leaders, by their fornication and by the murders of their leaders in the midst of them.

⁸ And I will gather them and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be my people and I will be their God in truth and in righteousness.

⁹ And when I have passed this third part through fire, and tried them as silver is tried, and proved them as gold is proved; this people will invoke My name and I will hear them and say, this is my people, and they will say, the Lord is my God.

¹⁴ Now the Word became incarnate, and dwelt as in a tent among us, and we beheld his glory; a glory as of an only begotten from the father. He was full of grace and truth.

²³ Jesus in reply, said to him, If any one love me, he will keep my word and my Father will love him; and we will come to him and make an abode with him.

¹⁶ And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God hath said, "Because I will dwell among them and walk about among them, and will be their God, and they shall be my people;

¹⁸ and be to you a father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

¹⁰ This is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel, After these days, saith the Lord, adapting my laws to their understanding I will write them on their hearts: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

¹⁶ but now they desire a better; that is a heavenly country; therefore God is not ashamed of them; to be invoked as their God: for he prepared a city for them.

¹⁵ For this cause they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple. And he who sitteth on the throne will spread his tent over them.

⁴ And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices I was going to write. And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me. "Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered and write them not.

⁸ Then the voice which I heard from heaven spake to me again and said, "Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."

¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven. "Now is come salvation and the power and reign of our God and the authority of Christ himself; for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, he who accused them before our God day and night;

⁷ He who overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God and he shall be my son:

⁴ Man is like vanity, his days glide away like a shadow.

⁸ Mighty death had swallowed up; but the Lord God hath again wiped every tear from every face; and removed from the whole earth the reproach of this people. For the mouth of the Lord hath spoken.

¹⁹ Because a holy people will dwell in Sion, and Jerusalem with weeping cried, "Have mercy upon me." Therefore he will have mercy upon thee. When he heard the sound of thy cry, he hearkened to thee.

¹⁰ They indeed shall return and come to Sion with joy, and everlasting joy shall crown their head: for on their heads will be praise and rapture; and gladness shall have full possession of them. Pain and sorrow and sighing are fled.

¹¹ For under the guidance of the Lord they shall be brought back, and shall come to Sion with joy and everlasting gladness; for praise shall crown their head and joy shall overtake them. Grief and sorrow and sighing are fled.

²⁰ For thy sun shall not go down nor shall thy moon ever wane: For the Lord will be to thee an everlasting light; and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

³ that to the mourners in Sion may be given, glory instead of ashes, oil of joy to the mourners, robes of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called generations of righteousness, a plant of the Lord for glory.

¹³ Then shall virgins rejoice in the assembly of youths; the elders also shall be filled with joy; for I will turn their mourning into joy and make them glad.

¹⁴ [J] Him I will deliver from the power of the grave, and from death I will redeem them. [p] death, where is thy punishment? Where thy sting, grave? Is comfort hid from mine eyes?

³⁵ The heaven and the earth shall fail; but my words shall not fail.

³¹ who use this world, as not using it immoderately. For the scenery of this world is shifting;

²⁶ The last enemy, death, is to be destroyed:

⁵⁴ Now when this corruptible shall have put on incorruptibility; and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then will be brought to pass the word which is written, "Death is completely swallowed up." ⁵⁵ O death where is thy sting? Where thy victory, O grave? ⁵⁶ Sin is indeed the sting of death; And the law is the strength of sin: ⁵⁷ But thanks be to God who gives us the victory Through our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁵⁸ So then, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, immoveable, abounding always in the work of the Lord, for as much as you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.

¹⁷ therefore come out from among them and separate yourselves, saith the Lord, and touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you,

¹⁴ As the children therefore were partakers of flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same in order that he might, by his death, put a stop to the operation of him who hath the power of death, that is the devil; ¹⁵ and deliver from bondage them who were all their lives liable to the fear of death.

¹⁷ Now the world is passing away, and the desire thereof; but he who doth the will of God shall abide forever.

¹⁷ for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will tend them and guide them to living fountains of water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

¹⁴ And death and the mansion of the dead were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

¹ Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth were passed away and the sea is no more.

³ And nothing subject to a curse shall ever be there; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall serve him

⁹ With regard to the former predictions, behold they are come to pass; and these are new things which I now declare; and before their promulgation, they are revealed to you.

¹⁹ Behold I am in act to do new things, which shall now spring up and you shall know them; I will make a way in the wilderness, and streams of water in the desert.

¹⁷ So that if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things are passed away, behold! all those things are made new.

¹¹ saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega; the first and the last," and "what thou seest, write in a book, and send it to the seven congregations which are in Asia, to Ephesus and to Smyrna, and to Pergamus, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

¹⁹ Write what thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which are about to be hereafter.

² Thereupon I was immediately enrapt, and behold a throne was set in the heaven, and one was sitting on the throne.

⁹ And when the animate beings give glory and honour and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, to him who liveth for the ages of the ages,

¹ And I saw in the right hand of him who was sitting on the throne a volume written within and on the back sealed with seven seals.

⁹ Then [the angel] saith to me, Write, Happy they who are invited to the marriage supper of the lamb! then he saith to me, These are the true words of God.

⁶ Then he said to me, These words are faithful and true. And the Lord the God of the holy prophets hath sent his angel to shew his servants what must shortly come to pass.

⁹ for with thee there is a fountain of life, and by thy light we shall see light.

³ therefore draw ye water with gladness from the wells of thanksgiving.

¹ HO! ye who are thirsting, come to water! And ye who have no money, come buy and eat, without money and without price, wine and the choicest bread. ² Why are you expending money and labour for that which will not satisfy? Hearken to me and you shall eat good things; and your soul will be regaled with delicacies. ³ Incline your ears and follow in my paths; hearken to me and your soul shall live on good things; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant; the gracious promises to David which are faithful.

¹³ Because my people did two things which are both evil: they forsook me, the fountain of living water; and hewed out for themselves broken cisterns which cannot hold water.

⁴ [J] I will heal their habitations. I will undoubtedly love them. Because he hath turned away my wrath from him,

¹⁸ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall distil new wine; and the hills shall send forth streams of milk; and all the fountains of Juda shall pour out water; and a fountain shall issue from the house of the Lord, which shall water the valley of bulrushes.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, If thou hadst known the bounty of God, and who it is who saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

¹⁴ but whosoever shall drink of the water which I will give him, will never thirst. But the water which I will give him, will be in him a fountain of water springing up for an everlasting life.

³⁷ It being now the last the great day of the festival, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink. ³⁸ He who believeth in me; as the scripture hath said, Out of his belly will flow streams of living water.

²⁴ They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption which is by Christ Jesus,

³² He who spared not his own son but delivered him up for us all, how will he not also with him freely grant us all things?

¹² Now we have not received the spirit of this world, but the spirit which is from God, that we may know the things which God hath freely granted to us;

⁵ Who then is Paul? And who is Apollos? Are they any thing but mere dispensers of another's bounty, by whose means you have believed? Even as the Lord hath given to each,

¹² Now if upon this foundation any one buildeth gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

²¹ So let no one boast in men; for all things .are yours:

⁴ because whatever is born of God overcometh the world, and the victory which overcometh the world is our faith. ⁵ Who is he that overcometh the world, but he who believeth that Jesus is the son of God?

⁸ "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end," saith the Lord, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

¹⁷ And when I saw him I fell at his feet as one dead. Whereupon he laid his right hand on me, and said to me, "Fear not. I am the first and the last,

⁶ and sware by him who liveth for the ages of the ages, who created the heaven and the things therein, and, the earth and the things therein and the sea and the things therein, that there should no longer be a delay,

¹⁷ then the seventh angel poured out his vial in the air: and there came a loud voice out of the temple in heaven from the throne saying, It is done.

¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega: the beginning and the end; the first and the last.

¹⁷ Now the spirit and the bride say, Come; and let him who heareth say Come. And let every one who thirsteth come; and let every one who is willing take of the water of life at free cost.

⁸ He lifteth up the needy from the ground; And raiseth the beggar from a dunghill; To seat them among a people's princes; And he causeth them to possess a throne of glory.

³⁵ The wise shall inherit glory; but the wicked have extolled dishonour.

⁹ I will indeed bring forth the seed from Jacob namely, from Juda, and he shall inherit my holy mountain: and my chosen ones and my servants shall inherit and dwell there;

²⁹ And everyone who hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields for the sake of my name, shall receive an hundred fold compensation. He shall indeed inherit an everlasting life.

³⁴ Then the king will say to them on his right, Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom which hath been prepared for you from the formation of the world:

¹⁷ And as he was setting out on his journey, one came running, and kneeling down before him, asked him, Good teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit an everlasting life?

¹⁵ For you have not received a spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received a spirit of adoption, by which we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ This very spirit beareth joint witness with our spirit that we are children of God; ¹⁷ and if children, then heirs; heirs indeed of God, and joint heirs with Christ if we suffer with him so that with him we may also be glorified.

²¹ So let no one boast in men; for all things .are yours: ²² whether Paul. or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come, all are yours, ²³ and you are Christ's and Christ is God's.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, hath regenerated us to a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead ⁴ for an inheritance incorruptible, incapable of defilement or decay, reserved in heaven for us

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, revile for revile; but on the contrary, blessing; knowing that you have been called for this, that you may inherit a blessing.

¹ Behold what a love the Father hath shewn us, that we should be called children of God: on this account the world doth not know us, because it did not know him. ² Beloved, we are now children of God. Though it hath not yet been manifested what we shall be, yet we know that when he shall appear we shall be like him: that we shall see him as he is. ³ Now, everyone who hath this hope in him purifieth himself as he is pure.

⁷ Whosoever hath an ear to hear let him hear what the spirit saith to the congregations. To him who overcometh I will give to eat of the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God."

¹¹ Let him who hath an ear hear what the spirit saith to the congregations. "He who overcometh shall not be hurt by the second death."

¹⁷ Let him who hath an ear hear what the spirit saith to the congregations. To him who overcometh I will grant to eat of the manna which was laid up; and I will give him a white stone, and on that stone a new name written, which no one knoweth but he who receiveth it.

²⁵ hold it fast until I come.

³ And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God with men! and he will dwell with them; and they will be his people; and God himself will be with them their God.

⁸ And the scribes shall further speak to the people, and say, Is there any man fearful, and faint hearted; let him go, and return to his family, lest he make the heart of his brother faint as his own.

³ Now therefore speak in the hearing of the people, and say, If any man is fearful, or timorous, let him depart from mount Galaad. So there returned of the people twenty two thousand: and ten thousand were left.

⁵ A false witness shall not go unpunished; and he who accuseth unjustly shall not escape.

⁹ Let not a false witness go unpunished; and let him who kindleth mischief perish by it.

¹⁵ the aged and the honourable, this was the head; and the prophet who teacheth falsehood, he is the tail.

¹² I THE I AM am he who comforteth thee. Recollect what thou wast when terrified at a mortal man, and at a son of man who are withered like grass;

¹¹ Of whom hast thou been so anxiously afraid that thou hast dealt falsely with me, and has not remembered nor taken me into thy thoughts, nor into thy heart? When I saw and neglected thee thou didst not fear me.

⁵ And I will bring to judgment before you and be a swift witness against sorcerers, and against adulteresses, and against them who swear by my name to a falsehood, and against them who deprive the hireling of his wages, and them who oppress the widow, and them who buffet the fatherless, and them who turn aside the cause of the stranger, and them who do not fear me, saith the Lord Almighty.

²⁶ And he said to them, Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm ensued.

²⁸ And be not afraid of them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

⁴ therefore I say to you, my friends; Be not afraid of them who kill the body, and after that can do no more: ⁵ but I will point out to you whom you should fear; Fear him, who after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell. I repeat it to you, Fear him. ⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two assars? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. ⁷ Nay, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. ⁸ Now I say to you, Whosoever will acknowledge me before men, him the son of man will acknowledge before the angels of God: ⁹ but he who hath denied me before men shall be disowned before the angels of God.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and bent upon executing the desires of your father. He was a manslayer from the beginning, and did .not abide in the truth. Because there is no truth in him, when he speaketh falsehood he speaketh what is. natural to him, for he is a liar, and the father of it.

⁴² Nevertheless when several of the chief's believed in him, but on account of the Pharisees did not acknowledge it, that they might not be excommunicated, ⁴³ [for they loved the praise of men, more than the praise of God]

⁹ Do you not know that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the voluptuous, nor sodomites, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor such as indulge inordinate desires, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁰ No. I only say, that what the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God. Now, I would not have you to be partakers in the worship of the demons. ²¹ You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest"they are these"adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, ²⁰ idolatry, fascinations, enmities, strifes, emulations, .animosities, contentions, factions, sects, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and the like, of which I forewarn you, as I have indeed before declared that they who practise such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God:

⁵ For this you know that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor lewd libertine, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with vain discourses; for on the account of these things the wrath of God is coining on these children of disobedience,

⁹ of him, whose coming is according to the energy of satan, with' all the power, and signs, and wonders of falsehood,

⁹ considering this, that law is not enacted for a righteous man, but for the lawless and refractory; for the impious and sinful; for the immoral and profane; for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers; for homicides, ¹⁰ fornicators, sodomites, enslavers of men, liars, perjured persons, and whatever else is contrary to the wholesome doctrine

² through the hypocrisy of liars, who have their own conscience seared,

²⁴ and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling which speaketh better things than that of Abel.

⁴ Let marriage be held in esteem by all, and its bed be undefiled: for whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

¹⁴ But if you should even suffer on the account of righteousness, you are happy. Be not terrified with the fear of them, nor dismayed; ¹⁵ but sanctify the Lord in your hearts" and be always prepared, in answer to every one who demandeth of you a reason for the hope which is in you, to make a defence with meekness and fear,

²² Who is the liar; but he who denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is the Antichrist who denieth the Father and the Son:

¹⁵ Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer hath everlasting life abiding in him.

¹⁰ He who believeth in the son of God hath this testimony in himself: he who doth not believe God, impeacheth his veracity, because he believeth not the testimony which God hath given concerning his son.

² I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and that thou canst not bear with them who are evil, and hast tried them who pretend to be apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars,

²¹ nor reformed from their murders nor from their magical incantations, nor from their fornication nor from their thefts,

²⁰ And the beast was taken and with him the false prophet who did these signs before him by which he led astray them who had received the mark of the beast, and them who worshipped his image. Both these were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone;

¹⁴ And death and the mansion of the dead were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. ¹⁵ And whoever was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

¹⁵ but without are the dogs and the sorcerers and the prostitutes and the murderers and the idolaters and every one who loveth and practiseth falsehood.

¹ Then I saw another sign in heaven great and wonderful: seven angels having the seven last plagues because by them the wrath of God was finished. ² And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire, and them who were victorious over the beast and over its image and over the number of its name, standing at the glassy sea having the musical instruments of God; ³ and they sing the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord, God, Almighty; Just and true are thy ways O thou king of the saints; ⁴ Who would not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou alone art perfect. For all the nations will come and worship before thee, For thy rules of rectitude are made manifest. ⁵ And after that I looked and behold! the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. ⁶ And the seven angels having the seven plagues came out of the temple, clad in clean white linen and having their breasts girded with golden girdles. ⁷ And one of the four animate beings gave the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God who liveth for the ages of the ages.

¹ And I heard a loud voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go and pour out the vials of the wrath of God on the earth. ² And the first angel went and poured out his vial on the earth; and there came a malignant and grievous ulcer upon the men, who had the mark of the beast, and on them who worshipped its image. ³ And the second angel poured out his vial on the sea, and it became as the blood of one dead; and every living creature in the sea died. ⁴ And the third angel poured out his vial on the rivers, and on the fountains of waters; and they became blood. ⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters saying, Righteous art thou, O Lord, who art and who wast and who art to come, because thou hast passed these judgments. ⁶ Because they poured out the blood of thy saints and prophets, therefore thou hast given them blood to drink, for they deserve it. ⁷ And I heard another from the altar, saying, Yes, Lord, God, Almighty, thy judgments are true and righteous. ⁸ And the fourth angel poured out his vial on the sun; and power was given to it to scorch men with fire. ⁹ And the men were scorched with great heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who hath power over these plagues and did not reform to give glory to him. ¹⁰ And the fifth angel poured out his vial on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, ¹¹ and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pain, and because of their ulcers, and did not reform from their works. ¹² And the sixth angel poured out his vial on the river the great river Euphrates, and the water thereof was dried up that a way might be prepared for the kings from the rising of the sun. ¹³ And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs, coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. ¹⁴ For these are spirits of demons making signs which go forth to the kings of the earth and the whole world, to gather them together to the battle of the great day of God the Almighty. ¹⁵ [Behold my coming is as a thief [cometh]: Happy he who watcheth and keepeth his garments that he may not walk naked and expose his shame.] ¹⁶ And when he had gathered them together to the place which is called in Hebrew Armageddon ¹⁷ then the seventh angel poured out his vial in the air: and there came a loud voice out of the temple in heaven from the throne saying, It is done.

¹ Then one of the seven angels who had the seven vials came to me and talked with me, saying to me, Come let me shew thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth on the many waters,

⁷ let us rejoice and exult with joy and ascribe to him the glory; for the marriage of the lamb is come and his spouse hath made herself ready

² And I John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.

¹² But it may be, that when I am gone from thee, the Spirit of the Lord will carry thee away to a land which I know not. So that when I shall go and tell Achab, and he shall not find thee, he will kill me. Now thy servant is one who feareth the Lord from his youth.

¹⁶ Then they said to him, Behold there are with thy servants fifty valiant men. Let them, we pray thee, go and seek thy master. Perhaps a blast of the Lord hath lifted him up and cast him by the Jordan, either on one of the mountains, or one of the hills. And Elisha said, You shall not send.

¹⁴ Then the blast lifted me up and bore me aloft and I went by the impulse of my own spirit, and the hand of the Lord upon me was strong,

³ And he stretched forth the similitude of a hand and took hold of me by the crown of the head and a blast of wind lifted me up between heaven and earth, and in a vision of God, brought me to Jerusalem, to the vestibule of the gate facing the north, where was the pillar of the possessor.

¹ Then a blast of wind took me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the Lord which was directly in front and which faced the east. And behold at the vestibule of the gate about five and twenty men! And I saw in the midst of them Jechonias the son of Ezer and Phaltias the son of Banaias, the leaders of the people.

²⁴ And a blast of wind took me up and brought me to the land of the Chaldeans, to the captivity, in a vision, by the spirit of God.

¹ In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the first month, on the tenth day of the month; the fourteenth year after the city was taken; on that day the hand of the Lord came upon me ² and in a vision of God brought me to the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain, on which there was a building before me resembling a city. ³ And he led me thither. And lo! a man, whose appearance resembled that of sparkling brass; and in his hand a builder's line and a measuring reed. And he stood at the gate. ⁴ And the man whom I saw said to me, Son of man, Behold with thine eyes and hear with thine ears, and lay up in thy heart all that I shew thee; for thou art come hither that I may shew thee and that thou mayst point out to the house of Israel all that thou seest. ⁵ Now behold there was a wall on the outside of the house all around; and the man had in his hand a reed of six cubits long by the cubit and hand breadth, so he measured the outer wall. The breadth equalled the reed and its height was equal to the reed. ⁶ Then he went up by seven steps to the gate fronting the east and measured the ailam of the gate which was one reed broad; ⁷ and the Thee was a reed long and a reed broad; ⁸ and the ailam between the Theelath was six cubits. And the second Thee was a reed long and a reed broad and the ailam was five cubits; and the third Thee was a reed long and a reed broad. ⁹ And the ailam of the gateway adjoining the ailam of the gate was eight cubits, and the aileus were two cubits. ¹⁰ And with regard to the aliems of the gate on the inside and the Thees of the gate; the Thees were opposite to those without; three on one side of the gate and three on the other, all of the same measure on this side and on that. And the ailams on both sides were of the same measure. ¹¹ Then he measured the breadth of the door of the gateway ten cubits. But the breadth of the gateway was thirteen cubits ¹² comprehending a border of a cubit on each side up to the face of the Thees: and the Thees on each side were six cubits. ¹³ Then he measured the gate from the outer wall of one Thee to the outer wall of the other Thee twenty five cubits. This was gate upon gate. ¹⁴ And the open part of the ailam of the gate on the outside was twenty cubits, the theims of the gate being round about; ¹⁵ and including this vestibule of the gate on the outside and the vestibule of the gate on the inside the extent was fifty cubits. ¹⁶ And all around there were windows wide inwards and narrow outwards, for the theims and the inner ailams of this gate of the court: and on the windows for the ailams on the inside and on the ailams there were palm trees on this side and that. ¹⁷ Then he led me to the court within; and lo! here were houses for those employed in the holy service and ranges of columns all around the court; there were thirty houses in the peristyles or ranges of columns ¹⁸ and the porticos were behind the gate; the lower row of columns being on a range with the gates. ¹⁹ Then he measured the breadth of this court from the inner vestibule of the outer gate to the outer vestibule of a gate facing the east, one hundred cubits. ²⁰ Then he led me northward, and lo! there was a gate to this outer court facing the north, and he measured it, both the length and the breadth; ²¹ and the Thees three on each side and the aileus and the ailammons and its palm trees. And the measures were the same as those of the gate facing the east. Its length was fifty cubits and its breadth twenty five cubits. ²² And its windows and the ailammons and its palm trees were the same as those of the eastern gate and the ascent to it was by seven steps. But the ailammons were on the inside. ²³ And there was a gate to the inner court facing this northern gate in the same manner as the other did that to the east. And he measured the court from gate to gate, one hundred cubits. ²⁴ Then he led me southward, and lo! there was a gate facing the south, and he measured it, and the Thees and the aileus and the ailammons: and the measures were the same as those mentioned. ²⁵ And its windows and the ailammons around were the same as the windows of that other ailam. Its length was fifty cubits and its breadth twenty five cubits. ²⁶ And it had seven steps and an ailammon on the inside. It had also palm trees on each side over the aileus. ²⁷ And this gate was directly opposite to the south gate of the inner court; and he measured the court from gate to gate and the breadth on the south side was a hundred cubits. ²⁸ Then he led me to the inner court of the gate facing the south, and he measured that gate, and its dimensions were the same as those mentioned, ²⁹ and its Thees and its aileus and its ailammons were of the like dimensions. And there were windows to it and to the ailammon round about. Its length was fifty cubits and the breadth of its ailam on the outer court was twenty five cubits, ³⁰ [Omitted] ³¹ and there were palm trees over the aileus and it had eight steps. ³² Then he led me to the gate facing the east, and measured it according to the same measures. ³³ And its Thees and its aileus and its ailammons were of the measures above mentioned and it had windows and an ailammon round about. Its length was fifty cubits and its breadth twenty five cubits. ³⁴ And its ailammon was on the inner court, and there were palm trees over the aileu on each side. And there were eight steps up to it. ³⁵ Then he led me to the north gate and measured it according to the same measures. ³⁶ And it had its Thees and its aileus and its ailammons and its windows around it, and an ailammon peculiar to it. Its length was fifty cubits, and its breadth twenty five cubits. ³⁷ And its ailammons were on the outer court, and there were palm trees to the aileu, on each side and eight steps up to it. ³⁸ Its houses for the priests, and its doors and its ailammon were at the second gate. At this gate facing the north there was a common sewer, ³⁹ that they might there kill the sin offerings and the trespass offerings. ⁴⁰ And behind the sewer of the burnt offerings there were at this gate facing the north, two tables facing the east. Also back of the second gate, and of the ailam of the gate were two tables on the east side. ⁴¹ There were four on one side, and four on the other, back of this gate. Upon these they slay the burnt offerings. And over against these eight tables for the burnt offerings, ⁴² there were four tables of hewn stone for the whole burnt offerings. The breadth of these was a cubit and a half, and the length two cubits and a half, and the height one cubit. On these are to be laid the instruments with which they kill the whole burnt offerings and the sacrifices. ⁴³ They have therefore each of them a border of a hand breadth hewn on the inside all around; and over these tables there is a covering to defend them from the rain, and the heat of the sun. ⁴⁴ Then he led me into the inner court; and lo! there were two apartments on the inner court; one behind the north gate facing the south; and one behind the south gate facing the north. ⁴⁵ And he said to me, This apartment which faceth the south is for the priests, who keep the watch of the house, ⁴⁶ and that apartment facing the north is for the priests who have the charge of the altar, namely the sons of Sadduk, the only Levites who come near to the Lord to minister to him. ⁴⁷ Then he measured this court which was a hundred cubits long and a hundred cubits broad, being four square. And the altar was on one side in front of the house. ⁴⁸ Then he led me to the ailam of the house and measured the ail of the ailam, five cubits the breadth on each side and the width of the gateway was fourteen cubits; and the cheeks of the door of the ailam were three cubits on the one side and three cubits on the other. ⁴⁹ And the length of the ailam was twenty cubits and the breadth twelve cubits; and the ascent up to it was by ten steps. And there were pillars on the ailam, one on the one side and one on the other.

¹⁵ And with regard to the overplus twenty five thousand in length and five thousand broad, out of it there shall be a plot for the city, for building and for the open walk around it. Now the city shall be in the middle of it, ¹⁶ and these shall be its dimensions; on the north, four thousand five hundred cubits; and on the south, four thousand five hundred; and on the east, four thousand five hundred; and on the west, four thousand five hundred. ¹⁷ And the open walk for the city shall be on the north, two hundred and fifty, and on the south, two hundred and fifty, and on the east, two hundred and fifty, and on the west, two hundred and fifty. ¹⁸ And the residue of the length adjoining the holy dedication, ten thousand on the east and ten thousand on the west side shall be dedicated portions, and they who occupy the city shall have the products thereof for bread. ¹⁹ It may be worked by any out of all the tribes of Israel who occupy the city. ²⁰ The whole oblation twenty five thousand by twenty Rye thousand shall be a square. From it you shall set apart the oblation for the sanctuary bordering on the possession of the city. ²¹ And the residue on the one side and the other shall be for the ruler, bordering on the holy dedications and along the possession of the city for twenty five thousand in length, and thence to the eastern boundary and westward by twenty five thousand to the western boundary. Adjoining these portions of the ruler shall be the holy oblation. ²² And the dedication appropriate to the house shall be in the middle of it and taken from the Levites, and shall border on the possession of the city which is in the middle between the ruler's portions. And it shall be between the borders of Juda and the borders of Benjamin and the portions of the ruler.

³⁹ And when they came up out of the water, the spirit of the Lord conveyed Philip away. And the eunuch saw him no more. For he proceeded on in his journey rejoicing,

² I know a man in Christ, that fourteen years ago such a one was suddenly conveyed to the third heaven, [whether in the body I do not know or out of the body I do not know, God knoweth] ³ and I know that such a man was suddenly conveyed to paradise [whether in the body or out of the body I do not know; God knoweth] ⁴ and he heard unutterable things which it is out of the power of man to express.

¹⁰ I was in the spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like the sound of a trumpet,

³ And he carried me away in spirit to a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast full of blasphemous names, which had seven heads and ten horns.

¹⁷ Gold and chrystal cannot equal it in value; nor can jewels of gold be a barter for it.

⁵ therefore when he shall come, every part of Sion and all around it shall be overshadowed by day with a cloud as of smoke, and by night with that of the light of blazing fire; and with all this glory it shall be covered;

¹ Be enlightened: be enlightened, Jerusalem! for thy light is come; and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. ² Behold darkness will cover the earth and thick darkness the nations: but upon thee the Lord will shine and his glory over thee will be conspicuous.

¹⁹ And thou shalt no more have the sun for a light by day nor shall the rising of the moon enlighten thy night; but the Lord will be to thee an everlasting light; and thy God will be thy glory. ²⁰ For thy sun shall not go down nor shall thy moon ever wane: For the Lord will be to thee an everlasting light; and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

²² And over the head of the living beings, there was a likeness resembling a firmament, like the appearance of chrystal over their wings, which were expanded above them.

²⁶ this being over their heads, there was an appearance like that of a sapphire stone and a resemblance of a throne upon it. And upon the resemblance of the throne a resemblance like the appearance of a man above.

¹³ In the delightful paradise of God thou wast born, Thou hast been adorned with every precious stone, the sardis and topaz and emerald and carbuncle and sapphire and jasper, and with silver and gold and the ligure and agate, and amethyst and chrysolite and beryl and onyx; and hast filled thy treasuries and thy stores with gold. ¹⁴ From the day thou wast created thou wast with the cherub. On the holy mountain of God I placed thee, thou wast born in the midst of sparkling stones.

¹⁶ By reason of thine abundant traffic thou didst fill thy stores with iniquity and commit sins; therefore thou art cast out slain from the mountain of God; and from amidst the sparkling stones the cherub hath dragged thee.

² and lo! the glory of the God of Israel was coming by the way of the east; and the sound of his march was like the sound of redoubling multitudes and the earth glared with the splendour of the glory around.

³⁵ The circumference eighteen thousand. And the name of the city from the day it is built shall be the name it now hath.

³ And he who was sitting was in appearance like a jasper and sardine stone, and there was a rainbow, in appearance like a smaragdine, around the throne.

⁶ And before the throne was a glassy sea resembling chrystal. And in the middle of the throne and around the throne were four animate beings full of eyes before and behind.

⁸ And the temple was filled with smoke because of the glory of God and of his majesty, so that no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.

¹⁸ And its wall was built of jasper and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. ¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation was jasper; and the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

²² And in it I saw no temple; for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb is its temple. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to enlighten it; for the glory of God enlightened it; and the lamb is its lamp:

¹ Then he shewed me a pure river of the water of life, clear as chrystal, issuing from the throne of God and the lamb;

⁵ And there shall be no night there; nor have they any need of a lamp or of the light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light; and they shall reign for the ages of the ages.

² Let the children of Israel encamp close to one another, by divisions, by standards, by the houses of their families, facing the tabernacle of the testimony. All around it the Israelites shall encamp. ³ And they who encamp first, towards the east, shall be the division of the camp of Judas with their army; and the chief of the children of Judas shall be Naasson, son of Aminadab; ⁴ his army; even they who were reviewed, being seventy four thousand six hundred; ⁵ and they who encamp adjoining, shall be the division of the tribe of Issachar, and the chief of the Issacharites shall be Nathaniel, son of Sogar; ⁶ his army; even they who were reviewed, being fifty four thousand four hundred; ⁷ and they who encamp adjoining, shall be the division of the tribe of Zabulon, and the chief of the Zabulonites shall be Eliab, son of Chailon; ⁸ his army; even they who were reviewed, being fifty seven thousand four hundred; ⁹ all those of the camp of Judas who have been reviewed, amounting to one hundred and eighty six thousand four hundred, with their army, shall march in the van. ¹⁰ And their army on the south, shall be the divisions of the camp of Reuben, and the chief of the Reubenites shall be Elisar, son of Sedur; ¹¹ his army, even they who have been reviewed, being forty six thousand five hundred; ¹² and they who encamp adjoining him, shall be the division of the tribe of Symeon, and the chief of the Symeonites shall be Salamiel, son of Surisadai; ¹³ his army, even they who were reviewed, being fifty nine thousand three hundred; ¹⁴ and they who encamp adjoining shall be the tribe of Gad; and the chief of the Gadites, shall be Elisaph, son of Raguel; ¹⁵ his army, even they who were reviewed, being forty five thousand six hundred and fifty. ¹⁶ All those of the camp of Reuben who have been reviewed, amounting to one hundred and fifty one thousand four hundred and fifty, with their army, shall march as the second division. ¹⁷ Then shall move the tabernacle of the testimony, and the camp of the Levites, as the centre division of the camps. As they encamp so they shall take up their march, every man in his rank, according to their companies. ¹⁸ And on the west shall be the division of the camp of Ephraim, with their army; and the chief of the Ephraimites shall be Elisama, son of Emiud; ¹⁹ his army, even they who were reviewed, being forty thousand five hundred; ²⁰ and they who encamp adjoining, shall be the division of the tribe of Manasses, and the chief of the Manassites shall be Gamaliel, son of Phadassur; ²¹ his army, even they who were reviewed, being thirty two thousand two hundred; ²² and they who encamp adjoining, shall be the division of the tribe of Benjamin; and the chief of the Benjaminites shall be Abidon, son of Gadeoni; ²³ his army, even they who were reviewed, being thirty five thou 24 sand four hundred. ²⁴ All those of the camp of Ephraim who have been reviewed, amounting to one hundred and eight thousand one hundred, with their army, shall march as the third division. ²⁵ And on the north shall be the division of the camp of Dan; with their army; and the chief of the Danites shall be Achiezer, son of Amisadai; ²⁶ his army, even they who were reviewed, being sixty two thousand seven hundred; ²⁷ and they who encamp adjoining him, shall be the tribe of Aser; and the chief of the Aserites, shall be Phagiel, son of Echran; ²⁸ his army, even they who have been reviewed, being forty one thousand five hundred: ²⁹ and they who encamp adjoining, shall be the division of the tribe of Nephthaleim, and the chief of the Nephthaleimites shall be Achire, son of Ainan; ³⁰ his army, even they who were reviewed, being fifty three thousand four hundred. ³¹ All those of the camp of Dan, who have been reviewed, amounting to one hundred and fifty seven thousand six hundred, shall march as the rear division. ³² This is the review of the children of Israel according to the houses of their families; the whole muster of the camps, comprehending their armies, being six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

⁹ Though we are slaves, the Lord our God hath not quite forsaken us, but hath extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, by their raising up the house of our God, and repairing the desolations thereof, and giving us an enclosure in Juda and Jerusalem.

²⁷ at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites in all their places to bring them to Jerusalem, to make the dedication with joyful thanksgivings and with songs, accompanied with cymbals and psalteries and kinyras;

¹⁸ Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good pleasure, with Sion. And let the walls of Jerusalem be builded.

⁷ let there be peace in thine army and prosperity in thy palaces!

¹² and for thy battlements I will lay jasper; and crystal, for thy gates; and for thy circumambient walls, precious stones:

¹⁸ and violence shall no more be heard in thy land, nor destruction nor misery in thy borders; but thy walls shall be called Salvation and thy gates, sculpture.

³¹ and the gates of the city shall be named after the tribes of Israel, three gates facing the north, one gate Reuben, one gate Juda and one gate Levi; ³² and those running eastward four thousand five hundred cubits, with three gates, one gate Joseph and one gate Benjamin and one gate Dan: ³³ and those running southward, four thousand five hundred cubits with three gates, one gate Symeon and one gate Issachar and one gate Zabulon; ³⁴ and those running westward four thousand five hundred cubits with three gates, one gate Gad, and one gate Aser and one gate Nephthaleim.

¹⁰ Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say to you, Their angels in heaven do continually behold the face of my father who is in heaven.

¹⁰ Thus, I assure you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God for one reforming sinner.

²² At length this poor man died, and was carried by angels to Abraham's bosom. And the rich man died also, and was buried.

⁷ and which our twelve tribes, by their continual services night and day, hope to obtain: for which hope, O king Agrippa, I am accused by the Jews.

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth on service on the account of them who are to be heirs of salvation?

⁴ And I heard the number of them who were sealed: a hundred and forty four thousand were sealed of all the tribes of the children of Israel ⁵ Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand; of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand; of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand; ⁶ of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand; of the tribe of Nephthaleim were sealed twelve thousand; of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand; ⁷ of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand; of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand; of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand; ⁸ of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand; of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand; of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

¹⁸ And its wall was built of jasper and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. ¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation was jasper; and the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardus; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the "twelve gates were twelve pearls. Every several gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

²⁵ and its gates shall not be shut by day; for there shall be no night there.

¹¹ [J] thou afflicted and storm beaten! Art thou not comforted? Behold I am preparing for thee carbuncles for thy building stones, and the sapphire for thy foundations;

² Now the names of the twelve disciples were these. First, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, ³ Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the publican, James the son of Alpheus and Lebbeus called Thaddeus, ⁴ Simon the Chananite and Judas Iscariot, even he who delivered him up.

¹⁸ Now I say to thee, Thou art named Peter, [a rock,] and upon this very rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

¹⁰ According to the favour of God granted to me, I, like a skilful architect, have laid a foundation, and another buildeth upon it. But let every one take heed how he buildeth thereon. ¹¹ For no one can lay any other foundation than that which is laid, which is Jesus The Christ.

⁹ even James, and Cephas, and John, those eminent pillars, knowing the favour granted to me, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should be for the nations, and they for the circumcision,

²⁰ built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the corner stone,

⁵ which in former generations was not made known to the children of men as it hath now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the spirit,]

¹¹ and he hath given some to be apostles, and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors, and teachers,

¹⁷ But as for you, beloved, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold you.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, O heaven! and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

³ and place therein the ark of the testimony and cover it with the veil. ⁴ Then thou shalt carry in the table and set in order the service thereof. And thou shalt carry in the candlestick and place on it the lamps: ⁵ and thou shalt set the golden altar, to burn incense, in its place before the ark; and thou shalt hang up the covering curtain at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.

¹ Then he led me into the temple, and having measured the ailam to it, ² which was six cubits broad on each side, and the breadth of the gateway was ten cubits, and the cheeks of the gateway five cubits on the one side, and five on the other, he measured the length of the temple forty cubits, and the breadth was twenty cubits. ³ Now when he came to the inner apartment he measured the ail of the door two cubits, and the door six cubits, and the cheeks of the door seven cubits on each side. ⁴ And he measured the length of the doors forty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits, commensurate with the front of the temple. And he said, This is the Holy of Holies. ⁵ Then he measured the wall of the house, six cubits, and the breadth of the gallery four cubits all around.

¹ Then I lifted up mine eyes and looked, and lo! a man with a measuring line in his hand!

¹ And a measuring reed like a staff was given me, and the angel stood saying, Rise and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them who are worshipping therein; ² but leave out the court which is on the outside of the temple and measure it not; for it is given to the nations and they shall trample the holy city forty two months.

⁸ and bordering on Juda from the eastern boundary shall be the dedicated portion twenty five thousand cubits broad and the length like one of the portions from the eastern boundary to the sea, so the sanctuary shall be in the midst of them. ⁹ The oblation which you shall set apart for the Lord shall be twenty five thousand cubits long and twenty five thousand broad. ¹⁰ Out of these there shall be for the priests the holy dedication, on the north side twenty five thousand and on the west side ten thousand and on the south side twenty five thousand. And the mountain of the Holies shall be in the midst of it. ¹¹ To the priests, the consecrated sons of Sadduk, who keep the watches of the house, who were not led astray in the apostasy of the children of Israel, as the Levites were, ¹² even to them this dedicated portion is given out of the dedicated portions of the land, as a Holy of Holies, apart from the Levites: ¹³ and to the Levites shall be given, adjoining the borders of the priests, a portion twenty five thousand cubits long and ten thousand broad; the whole being twenty five thousand in length and twenty thousand in breadth. ¹⁴ No part of this shall be sold; nor shall it be parcelled out; nor shall the first fruits of this land be set apart; for it is dedicated to the Lord. ¹⁵ And with regard to the overplus twenty five thousand in length and five thousand broad, out of it there shall be a plot for the city, for building and for the open walk around it. Now the city shall be in the middle of it, ¹⁶ and these shall be its dimensions; on the north, four thousand five hundred cubits; and on the south, four thousand five hundred; and on the east, four thousand five hundred; and on the west, four thousand five hundred. ¹⁷ And the open walk for the city shall be on the north, two hundred and fifty, and on the south, two hundred and fifty, and on the east, two hundred and fifty, and on the west, two hundred and fifty. ¹⁸ And the residue of the length adjoining the holy dedication, ten thousand on the east and ten thousand on the west side shall be dedicated portions, and they who occupy the city shall have the products thereof for bread. ¹⁹ It may be worked by any out of all the tribes of Israel who occupy the city. ²⁰ The whole oblation twenty five thousand by twenty Rye thousand shall be a square. From it you shall set apart the oblation for the sanctuary bordering on the possession of the city.

¹¹ [For besides Og, king of Basan, there was not one of the Raphains left. Behold his bed was a bed of iron. Behold it is in the citadel of the Ammanites. The length of it is nine cubits, and the breadth of it four cubits, after the cubit of a man.]

¹⁸ Here is wisdom. Let him who hath understanding calculate the number of the beast; for its number is that of a man and its number is 666.

³ and singing as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four animate beings, and the elders; and no one could learn the song, but the hundred and forty four thousand who had been redeemed from the earth.

⁹ Then one of the angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues came to me and spoke to me saying, Come let me shew thee the bride the Lamb's wife.

¹¹ having the glory of God. And its lustre was like a most precious stone, like a jasper shining as chrystal;

¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone. The first foundation was jasper; and the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

²¹ And the "twelve gates were twelve pearls. Every several gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

¹⁷ And thou shalt inweave in it a texture to contain stones in four rows. One row of stones shall be a sardius, a topaz and a smaragdus; this shall be the first row. ¹⁸ And the second row, an anthrax, and a sapphire and a jaspis; ¹⁹ and the third row, a ligure, an agate and an amethyst; ²⁰ and the fourth row, a chrysolite and a beryl and an onyx. They must be cased in gold, and bound together with gold according to their rows. ²¹ And the stones from the names of the sons of Israel must be twelve according to their names. They must be engraved like seals every one with its name for the twelve tribes.

¹⁰ for this purpose thou shalt bring the young bull to the doors of the tabernacle of the testimony and Aaron and his sons shall lay their bands on the head of the young bull before the Lord at the doors of the tabernacle of the testimony. ¹¹ Then thou shalt slay the bull before the Lord at the doors of the tabernacle of the testimony, ¹² and thou shalt take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with thy finger; and all the rest of the blood thou shalt pour out at the base of the altar. ¹³ And thou shalt take the whole caul which covereth the belly and the lobe of the liver and the two kidneys with the suet on them; and lay them on the altar: ¹⁴ but the flesh of the bull and the hide and the excrements thou shalt burn with fire without the camp: for it is a sin offering.

¹⁶ But silver cannot be weighed as its price; nor can it be purchased with the gold of Sophir; with the precious onyx or the sapphire. ¹⁷ Gold and chrystal cannot equal it in value; nor can jewels of gold be a barter for it. ¹⁸ Things above need not be mentioned: but prize thou wisdom above all things below. ¹⁹ The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it in value: nor is it to be rated by pure gold.

¹⁵ She is more precious than costly stones: and nothing evil can be compared to her. She is easily known by all who approach her; but no price is equal to her in value.

²⁰ The length of this compartment was twenty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits, and the height twenty cubits, and he covered it with plated gold. When he had made the altar in front of the dabir and overlaid it with gold,

¹⁷ And instead of brass I will bring thee gold; and instead of iron I will bring thee silver; and instead of wood I will bring thee brass and instead of stones iron. And I will make thy chiefs peaceful and thine overseers righteous; ¹⁸ and violence shall no more be heard in thy land, nor destruction nor misery in thy borders; but thy walls shall be called Salvation and thy gates, sculpture.

⁴⁵ Again the kingdom of the heavens is like a merchant in quest of fine pearls, ⁴⁶ who, having met with one of great value, went and sold all that he had and purchased it.

⁴ And the woman was clad in purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls; and she had in her hand a golden cup full of the abominations and impurity of her fornication;

¹⁶ and saying, Alas! Alas! the great city! she that was clothed with cotton and purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!

¹¹ having the glory of God. And its lustre was like a most precious stone, like a jasper shining as chrystal; ¹² and it had a great and high wall with twelve gates and at the gates twelve angels and [on the gates] were graven the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel

¹⁸ And its wall was built of jasper and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.

² and in the middle of the broad street of the city on both sides of the river at proper distances there was a tree of life bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month and the leaves of the tree are to heal the nations.

⁶ and who is able to build a house for him? For the heaven and the heaven of heavens, cannot contain his glory; who then am I, that I should build a house for him, save only to burn incense before him?

¹ Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth, my footstool: what sort of an house will you build for me? And of what sort shall be the place of my rest?

¹⁹ In reply to which Jesus said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. ²⁰ Thereupon the Jews said, This temple was forty six years a building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days? ²¹ But he spake of the temple of his body:

²¹ Jesus saith to her, Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will worship the Father, neither on this mountain, nor at Jerusalem.

²³ But the hour is coming; indeed is now come, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. For such worshippers of him the Father seeketh.

³⁰ I and my father are one.

¹⁹ Because all the plenitude was pleased to dwell in him, and by him to reconcile all to himself,

⁹ Because all the plenitude of the deity resideth substantially in him, 10 therefore you are complete in him who is the head of all principality and power;

¹ Now then the first covenant had the ordinances of divine service and the worldly sanctuary; ² for a tabernacle was prepared; the first compartment, in which are the candlestick, and the table, and the presentment of the loaves; this is called the Holy. ³ And beyond the second veil is a compartment which is called, The Holy of Holies, ⁴ containing a golden altar and the ark of the covenant, all overlaid with gold, in which was the golden urn containing the manna, and the staff of Aaron which budded, and the tables of the covenant, ⁵ and above it the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy-seat, concerning which we are not at this time to speak particularly. ⁶ These things being thus prepared, the priests, performing the divine services, go on all occasions into the first compartment; ⁷ but into the second the chief priest only, and but once a year, not without blood, which he offereth for himself and for the errors of the people, ⁸ the Holy Spirit plainly shewing this, that the way into the holies was not yet manifested while that tabernacle hath a standing. ⁹ This figurative representation was for the time being, according to which gifts and sacrifices were offered, which cannot make him who performeth service, perfect with regard to the conscience, ¹⁰ they being things imposed barely for meats, and drinks, and divers baptisms, and rules of conduct respecting flesh, until the time of reformation: ¹¹ But Christ being come, a chief priest of the future good things, hath entered into the holies by the greater and more perfect tabernacle; not by one made with hands, that is, not of this creation; ¹² nor with the blood of goats and young bulls, but with his own blood, once for all, having procured everlasting redemption.

⁸ And the four animate beings had, each of them six wings around and underneath they were full of eyes. And they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!

⁶ Then I looked and behold in the midst of the throne and of the four animate beings and in the midst of the elders stood a lamb as if it had been slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes which are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

¹⁷ saying, "We thank thee O Lord, the God, the Almighty who is and who was and who is to come, because thou hast assumed thy great power and commenced thy reign.

³ and they sing the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord, God, Almighty; Just and true are thy ways O thou king of the saints;

⁷ And I heard another from the altar, saying, Yes, Lord, God, Almighty, thy judgments are true and righteous.

¹⁴ For these are spirits of demons making signs which go forth to the kings of the earth and the whole world, to gather them together to the battle of the great day of God the Almighty.

¹⁵ And out of his mouth issueth a sharp sword that with it he may smite the nations. And he himself tendeth them with an iron crook; and he himself treadeth the press of the venemous and raging wine of God Almighty.

⁴ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And there shall no more be death; nor shall grief, nor screaming, nor pain be any more; for the former things are gone. ⁵ And he who sat on the throne said, Behold I make all things new. Then he saith to me, Write that these words are true and faithful;

¹⁰ "Now therefore go into the rocks and hide yourselves in the earth, from the tremendous presence of the Lord; and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall arise, to crush the land."

¹⁹ carrying them into caverns and clefts of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, from the tremendous presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall arise to crush the lands.

²¹ that they may go into holes of the flinty rock: nay into the very clefts of the rock, from the tremendous presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall arise to crush the land.

²³ [c] When the bricks shall have mouldered away, and the wall shall have fallen; because the Lord will commence his reign from Sion and from Jerusalem, and be glorified in the presence of the elders;

³ God will come from Thaiman, even the Holy One from the thick shady mountains of Pharan.

²⁷ For the son of man will come in the glory of his father, with his angels, and will then render to every one according to his actions.

³⁸ For whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the son of man will be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his father, with his holy angels.

³² a light to illuminate the nations; the glory of thy people Israel.

⁴ What was in him was life, and this life was the light of men,

⁹ The light [the true light which enlighteneth every man] coming into the world

¹⁸ No one hath ever seen God. This only begotten son, who is in the bosom of the father, even he hath made him known.

²³ that all may honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son, doth not honour the Father, who sent him.

²⁴ O Father, with respect to them whom thou hast given me, my desire is that where I am, they may be with me, that they may behold my glory which thou hast given me, because thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

¹¹ But as I could not see, by reason of the glory of that light, being led by them who were with me, I went to Damascus,

¹ And after this I saw another angel coming down out of heaven having great authority; and the earth was illumined with his glory;

⁴³ Rejoice, heavens, with him, And let all the angels of God worship him: Rejoice, nations, with his people, And let all the children of God rely on him: For he avengeth the blood of his children, And will judge, and execute vengeance on his enemies, To them who hate him he will render retribution, And the Lord will purify the land of his people.

²⁷ All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord; and all the families of the nations shall worship before him:

¹⁰ Let the kings of Tharsis and the isles bring gifts; the kings of the Arabs and Saba offer presents. ¹¹ Let all the kings pay him homage; all the nations serve as vassals.

² Because in the last days, the mount of the Lord will be conspicuous; and the house of God will be on the top of mountains; and exalted above the hills: therefore all the nations will come to it.

⁵ Now therefore, O house of Jacob; come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.

¹⁵ so many nations will express admiration at him; and kings will shut their mouths, because they, to whom no publication was made concerning him, shall see; and they, who had not heard, will understand.

⁵ Nations which knew thee not will fly to thee, for the sake of the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

¹⁰ For as the rain when it descendeth, or snow, from the heavens, doth not return thither, till it hath watered the earth, and caused it to generate and bloom and yield seed for the sower and bread for food;

³ And kings will walk by thy light: and nations by thy splendour. ⁴ Raise thine eyes around and behold thy children gathered together; all thy sons are come from afar, and thy daughters shall be carried on shoulders. ⁵ Then thou wilt look and be filled with awe and astonished at heart; because the riches of the sea and of nations and peoples will pour in upon thee. ⁶ And for thee will come herds of camels and those of Madiam and Gaipha will cover thee, and those of Saba will come bringing gold and will also bring frankincense, and with joy proclaim the salvation of the Lord. ⁷ And all the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together; and the rams of Nabaioth will come; and acceptable offerings will be made on mine altar, and my house of prayer will be glorified. ⁸ [c] Who are those? They are flying like clouds, and like doves with their young towards me! ⁹ [J] For me the islands waited, and among the first the ships of Tarsis to bring thy children from afar and their silver and their gold with them. And because of the holy name of the Lord, and because the Holy One of Israel is glorious; ¹⁰ therefore strangers shall rebuild thy walls and their kings shall wait upon thee. For on account of my wrath I smote thee, but for mercy's sake I have loved thee;

¹³ The glory of Lebanon also shall come to thee, with the cypress and the pine and the cedar, to adorn the place which is dedicated to me.

¹⁶ And thou shalt suck the milk of nations, and feed on the wealth of kings, and shalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour, and that thy Redeemer is the God of Israel.

¹¹ That you may suck and be satisfied from the breast of her consolation; that you may suck and be fed deliciously, at the commencement of her glory. ¹² For thus saith the Lord, Behold I will glide to them like a peaceful stream, and like a torrent deluging the glory of nations. Their children shall be carried on shoulders, and shall be dandled on knees.

¹⁸ As I know their works and their reasoning I am coming to gather together all the nations and the tongues, and they shall come and see my glory.

² As the Lord liveth" with truth in judgment and justice: then shall the nations bless by him, and by him praise God in Jerusalem.

¹¹ and many nations will flee to the Lord in that day, and be his people and dwell in the midst of thee; and thou shalt know that the Lord Almighty hath sent me to thee.

²² I am going. So many peoples and many nations will come to seek the face of the Lord Almighty at Jerusalem, and to conciliate the favour of the Lord. ²³ Thus saith the Lord Almighty, If in those days ten men of all the tongues of the nations take hold, they must take hold of the skirt of a Jew, saying, We will go with thee, for we have heard that God is with you.

¹⁰ And again it is said, "Rejoice, O nations, with his people." ¹¹ And again, Praise the Lord, all ye nations: Praise him, all ye people, ¹² also, And again Esaias saith, "There shall be the root of Jesse, even he who riseth up to rule nations; in him nations will put their trust.

¹⁶ that I should be a ministering servant of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, and employed in the holy service of dispensing the glad tidings of God, that the offering of the Gentiles may be accepted, being hallowed by a holy spirit.

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor saints in Jerusalem.

²⁶ And the glory and the honour of the nations shall be brought to it.

¹¹ and thy gates shall be open continually [by day or by night they shall not be shut] to introduce to thee the wealth of nations and their kings pompously attended.

⁷ there shall be chilness and cold during one day. That will indeed be a memorable day to the Lord. It will neither be day nor night; but towards evening there will be light.

²³ And the city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to enlighten it; for the glory of God enlightened it; and the lamb is its lamp: ²⁴ and the nations of the saved will walk in its light; and the kings of the earth will bring their glory and honour into it;

⁴⁶ he shall dwell alone by himself. His abode shall be without the camp.

³ whether male or female, send them out of the camp, that they may not defile their camps in which I am present among them.

¹⁵ So Mariam was set apart without the camp, seven days, and the people did not remove till Mariam was cleansed.

⁸ I took the earliest occasion to destroy all the sinners of the land; to root out of the city of the Lord all the workers of iniquity.

⁸ There will be there a pure highway, which shall be called The Holy way. And the unclean shall not come there; nor shall there be there an unclean way. But as for the dispersed, they shall travel it, and shall not be led astray.

²¹ And thy people shall be all righteous, they shall inherit the land forever, preserving the plant, the works of their hands, for glory.

⁹ Therefore thus saith the Lord God, No stranger, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh shall enter into my holy places. Among all the sons of other families which are comprehended in the house of Israel none but the Levites only shall enter.

¹⁷ And ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, who dwell in Sion my holy mountain, and Jerusalem shall be holy and strangers shall no more pass through it.

²¹ And every kettle in Jerusalem and in Juda shall be holy to the Lord Almighty. And all that sacrifice will come and take of them and boil in them. And there shall no more be a Chananite in the house of the Lord Almighty in that day.

⁴¹ The son of man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all the stumbling blocks, and the workers of iniquity,

⁵ For this you know that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor lewd libertine, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God.

³ And I intreat thee also, my faithful colleague, assist them; for they were fellow labourers of mine in the gospel, with Clement in particular, and the rest of mv fellow labourers whose names are in the book of life.

¹⁴ Follow peace with all men, and that holiness without which none shall see the Lord,

⁵ He who overcometh shall be clothed with white raiment, and I will not blot his name out of the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father, and before his angels.

⁸ and it is to be worshipped by all the inhabitants of the earth whose names are not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain.

⁴ And the woman was clad in purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls; and she had in her hand a golden cup full of the abominations and impurity of her fornication; ⁵ and on her forehead there was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, the mother of the harlots and the abominations of the earth.

¹² And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God. And books were opened; and another book was opened namely that of Life. And the dead were judged by the writings in those books according to their works.

¹⁵ And whoever was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

⁸ but the cowards and the unbelieving and abominable and murderers and prostitutes, and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their portion in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.

¹⁴ Happy they who perform his commandments that they may have access to the tree of life and enter by the gates into the city: ¹⁵ but without are the dogs and the sorcerers and the prostitutes and the murderers and the idolaters and every one who loveth and practiseth falsehood.
