²⁰ for his invisible attributes, both his eternal power and divine majesty, being thought upon, are from the creation of the world clearly discoverable by the things made, so that they are without excuse

³³ and Abraham planted a field at Well of the Oath and there invoked the name of the Lord, the everlasting God.

¹⁹ and that upon looking up to heaven, and seeing the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and all the host of heaven, thou mayst not be led astray, and worship them, and perform religious service to those things which the Lord thy God hath arranged in due order, for all the nations which are under heaven.

²⁷ The governance of God will protect thee When under the power of everlasting arms. He will drive out the enemy before thee, Saying, Be devoted to destruction!

And he is like a bridegroom coming forth from his chamber. ² Before the mountains were brought forth; or the earth or the world was formed: even from everlasting to everlasting thou existest.

⁵ Who founded the earth on its firm basis, that it may not be moved forever.

³¹ Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; let the Lord rejoice over his works.

⁹⁰ thy truth to all generations. Thou hast established the earth and it shall continue.

¹³ Because thou, Lord, hast possessed my reins; hast supported me from my mother's womb;

⁸ Fire, hail, snow, ice, tempestuous wind, which execute his commands! ⁹ Mountains, and all hills! fruit trees and all cedars! ¹⁰ wild beasts and all cattle! creeping things and winged fowls! ¹¹ Kings of the earth, and all peoples! chiefs and all judges of the earth! ¹² youths and virgins! elders with them of younger years!

⁶ because for us a child is born, and to us a son is given, whose government is on his own shoulder; and his name is called, "The Messenger of Great Counsel." For I will bring peace on the rulers and health for him.

⁴ who art to everlasting, the Mighty, the Eternal God,

²⁶ Raise your eyes upwards and take a view: who hath displayed all those? He who bringeth out his host by number can call them all by name. On the account of abundant glory, by reason of the mightiness of his power he hath in no wise escaped thy notice;

²¹ [p] Hear these things I beseech you, O foolish and stupid people! [J] They have eyes, but they do not see; ears they have, but they do not hear.

⁴⁵ that you may be the children of your Father in heaven: for he causeth the sun to rise on bad and good, and sendeth the rain on just and unjust.

¹⁸ No one hath ever seen God. This only begotten son, who is in the bosom of the father, even he hath made him known.

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

²⁹ Being therefore the offspring of God, we ought not to imagine the Deity to be like gold, or silver, or stone, wrought by the art and contrivance of man.

¹ brethren and fathers, hear my defence which I now make to you.

¹⁹ Because that which is to be known of God is manifest among them, for God hath manifested it to them;

¹ therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art, who judgest another: for in the act of judging another thou condemnest thyself. For thou the judger dost the same things.

¹⁵ By the joint testimony of their conscience, and by their debates one with another, whether accusing or defending, they shew the matter of the law written in their hearts.

²⁶ but which is now laid open, and by prophetic writings made known to all the nations, according to an order of the everlasting God, for the obedience of belief

¹⁵ who is an image of the invisible God, a first born of the whole creation.

⁹ Because all the plenitude of the deity resideth substantially in him, 10 therefore you are complete in him who is the head of all principality and power;

¹⁷ Now to the king of the ages; the incorruptible, invisible, only wise God, be honour and glory, for the ages of the ages. Amen.

¹⁶ who alone hath immortality, who inhabiteth light inaccessible, whom no man hath seen, or can see, to whom be honour and everlasting dominion. Amen.

¹⁴ how much more will the' blood of the Christ, who by an eternal spirit hath offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works that you may serve the living God.

²⁷ By faith he left Egypt in defiance of the king's wrath; for he persevered as seeing Him who is invisible.
