And the aungels ministred vnto him. ¹⁴ After Iohn was taken Iesus came in to Galile preachinge the gospell of the kyngdome of God ¹⁵ and sayinge: the tyme is come and the kyngdome of God is at honde repent and beleve the gospell. ¹⁶ As he walked by the see of Galile he sawe Simon and Andrew his brother castinge nettes into ye see for they were fysshers. ¹⁷ And Iesus sayde vnto them: folowe me and I will make you fisshers of men. ¹⁸ And strayght waye they forsoke their nettes and folowed him. ¹⁹ And when he had gone a lytell further thence he sawe Iames the sonne of zebede and Ihon his brother even as they were in the shyppe mendinge their nettes. ²⁰ And anone he called them. And they came to him fro every quarter.

¹⁷ And lo there came a voyce from heven sayng: Thys ys that my beloved sonne in whom is my delyte.

³ Then came to hym the tempter and sayde: yf thou be the sonne of God commaunde that these stones be made breed.

³³ Then they that were in the shippe came and worshipped him sayinge: of a truth thou arte ye sonne of God.

⁵ Whyll he yet spake beholde a bright cloude shadowed them. And beholde there came a voyce out of ye cloude sayinge: this is my deare sonne in whom I delite heare him.

² even as they declared them vnto vs which from the beginnynge sawe them their selves and were ministers at the doyng: ³ I determined also assone as I had searched out diligently all thinges from the beginnynge that then I wolde wryte vnto the good Theophilus:

³⁵ And ye angell answered and sayd vnto her: The holy goost shall come apon the and ye power of ye hyest shall over shaddowe ye. Therfore also yt holy thinge which shalbe borne shalbe called ye sonne of god.

¹⁰ But the angell sayd vnto them: Be not afrayed. For beholde I bringe you tydinges of greate ioye yt shal come to all ye people: ¹¹ for vnto you is borne this daye in the cite of David a saveoure which is Christ ye lorde.

¹⁴ And the worde was made flesshe and dwelt amonge vs and we sawe the glory of it as the glory of the only begotten sonne of ye father which worde was full of grace and verite.

³⁴ And I sawe and bare recorde that this is the sonne of God.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and sayde vnto him: Rabbi thou arte the sonne of God thou arte the kynge of Israel.

¹⁶ For God so loveth the worlde yt he hath geven his only sonne that none that beleve in him shuld perisshe: but shuld have everlastinge lyfe.

⁶⁹ and we beleve and knowe yt thou arte Christ the sonne of the lyvinge God.

³¹ These are written that ye myght beleve that Iesus is Christ the sonne of God and that in belevynge ye myght have lyfe thorowe his name.

¹ In the former treatise (Deare frende Theophilus) I have written of all that Iesus beganne to do and teache ² vntyll the daye in the which he was taken vp after that he thorowe the holy goost had geven commaundementes vnto the Apostles which he had chosen:

³² which spared not his awne sonne but gave him for vs all: how shall he not wt him geve vs all thinges also?

¹ God in tyme past diversly and many wayes spake vnto the fathers by Prophetes: ² but in these last dayes he hath spoken vnto vs by his sonne whom he hath made heyre of all thinges: by who also he made the worlde.

¹ That which was fro the begynninge concerninge which we have hearde which we have sene with oure eyes which we have loked vpon and oure hondes have hadled of the worde of life. ² For the lyfe appered and we have sene and beare witnes and shewe vnto you that eternall lyfe which was with the father and appered vnto vs. ³ That which we have sene and herde declare we vnto you that ye maye have felloushippe with vs and that oure fellishippe maye be with the father and his sonne Iesus Christ.

Tis my ioye is fulfilled. ³⁰ He must increace: and I muste decreace. ³¹ He that commeth from an hye is above all: He that is of ye erth is of the erth and speaketh of the erth. He that cometh from heaven is above all ³² and what he hath sene and hearde: that he testifieth: but no man receaveth his testimonye. ³³ How be it he that hath receaved hys testimonye hath set to his seale that God is true. ³⁴ For he whom God hath sent speaketh the wordes of God. For God geveth not the sprete by measure. ³⁵ The father loveth the sonne and hath geven all thinges into his honde. ³⁶ He that beleveth on the sonne hath everlastynge lyfe: and he that beleveth not the sonne shall not se lyfe but the wrathe of God abydeth on him.

³ And he sayd vnto them: wher wt were ye then baptised? And they sayd: with Iohns baptim ⁴ Then sayde Paul: Iohn verely bapiised with the baptim of repentaunce sayinge vnto the people that they shuld beleve on him which shuld come after him: that is on Christ Iesus.

¹⁶ And now: why tariest thou? Aryse and be baptised and wesshe awaye thy synnes in callinge on ye name of ye Lorde.

⁴⁰ And they shall confesse their misdedes and the misdeades of their fathers in their trespases which thei haue trespased against me, and for that also that thei haue walked contrary vnto me. ⁴¹ Therfore I also will walke contrary vnto them, and will brynge them in to the londe of their enemyes. And then at the leest waye their vncircumcysed hertes shall be tamed, ad then they shall make an attonement for their misdedes. ⁴² And I wil remembre my bonde with Iacob and my testamet with Isaac, and my testament with Abraham, and will thinke on the londe.

²⁵ And ther folowed hym a greate nombre of people from Galile and from the ten cyties and from Ierusalem and from Iury and from ye regions that lye beyonde Iordan.

²⁸ These thinges were done in Bethabara beyonde Iordan where Iohn dyd baptyse.

³⁸ Peter sayde vnto them: repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Iesus Christ for the remission of synnes and ye shall receave the gyfte of the holy goost.

¹⁸ And many yt beleved came and confessed and shewed their workes.

⁸ Yf we saye that we have no synne we deceave oure selves and trueth is not in vs. ⁹ Yf we knowledge oure synnes he is faythfull and iust to forgeve vs oure synnes and to clense vs from all vnrightewesnes. ¹⁰ Yf we saye we have not sinned we make him a lyar and his worde is not in vs.

⁴⁵ And they of ye circucision which beleved were astonyed as many as came wt Peter because that on the Gentyls also was sheed oute ye gyfte of the holy gost.

¹⁵ And as I begane to preach ye holy goost fell on them as he dyd on vs at the begynninge. ¹⁶ Then came to my remembrauce ye wordes of the Lorde how he sayde: Iohn baptised with water but ye shalbe baptysed with the holy goost.

⁴ Then sayde Paul: Iohn verely bapiised with the baptim of repentaunce sayinge vnto the people that they shuld beleve on him which shuld come after him: that is on Christ Iesus. ⁵ When they hearde that they were baptised in the name of the lorde Iesu. ⁶ And Paul layde his hondes apon them and the holy gost came on them and they spake with tonges and prophesied

¹³ For in one sprete are we all baptysed to make one body whether we be Iewes or getyls whether we be bonde or fre: and have all dronke of one sprete.

⁷ And sodenly they loked rounde aboute them and sawe no man more then Iesus only wt the.

³⁵ And ther came a voyce out of the cloude sayinge: This is my deare sonne heare him.

²⁰ For the father loveth ye sonne and sheweth him all thinges whatsoever he him selfe doeth. And he will shewe him greter workes then these because ye shoulde marvayle. ²¹ For lykwyse as the father rayseth vp ye deed and quickeneth them even so the sonne quyckeneth whom he will. ²² Nether iudgeth ye father eny ma: but hath comitted all iudgemet vnto the sonne ²³ because that all men shuld honoure the sonne eve as they honoure the father. He that honoureth not ye sonne the same honoureth not the father which hath sent him.

³⁷ And the father him silfe which hath sent me beareth witnes of me. Ye have not hearde his voyce at eny tyme nor ye have sene his shape:

²⁸ Father glorify thy name. Then came ther a voyce fro heaven: I have glorified it and will glorify it agayne. ²⁹ Then sayd the people yt stode by and hearde: it thoundreth. Other sayde an angell spake to him. ³⁰ Iesus answered and sayde: this voyce cam not because of me but for youre sakes.

⁴ and declared to be the sonne of God with power of the holy goost that sanctifieth sence ye tyme that Iesus Christ oure Lorde rose agayne from deeth

¹³ Which hath delivered vs from the power of dercknes and hath translated vs in to the kyngdome of his dere sone

¹⁷ even then verely when he receaved of god the father honour and glory and when ther came soche a voyce to him from excellent glorie. This is my dere beloved sonne in whom I have delite. ¹⁸ This voyce we hearde when it came from heven beynge with him in the holy mounte.

¹ Then was Iesus ledd awaye of ye spirite into wildernes to be tempted of ye devyll. ² And when he had fasted fourtye dayes and fourtye nightes he was afterward an hungred. ³ Then came to hym the tempter and sayde: yf thou be the sonne of God commaunde that these stones be made breed. ⁴ He answered and sayde: yt is wrytten man shall not lyve by brede onlye but by every worde yt proceadeth out of the mouth of God. ⁵ Then the devyll tooke hym vp into ye holy cite and set hym on a pynacle of the teple ⁶ and sayd vnto hym: yf thou be the sonne of God cast thy sylfe doune. For it is wrytte he shall geve his angels charge over the and with their handes they shall holde yt vp that thou dashe not thy fote agaynst a stone. ⁷ And Iesus sayde to hym it ys wrytten also: Thou shalt not tempte thy Lorde God. ⁸ The devyll toke hym vp agayne and ledde hym in to an excedynge hye mountayne and shewed hym all the kyngdomes of ye worlde and all ye glorie of them ⁹ and sayde to hym: all these will I geue ye if thou wilt faull doune and worship me. ¹⁰ Then sayde Iesus vnto hym. Avoyd Satan. For it is writte thou shalt worshyp ye Lorde thy God and hym only shalt thou serve. ¹¹ Then the dyvell left hym and beholde the angels came and ministred vnto hym.

¹ Iesus then full of the holy goost returnyd fro Iordan and was caryed of ye sprete into wildernes ² and was .xl. dayes tempted of the devyll. And in thoose dayes ate he no thinge. And when they were ended he afterward hongred. ³ And the devyll sayde vnto him: yf thou be the sonne of God comaunde this stone yt it be breed. ⁴ And Iesus answered hym sayinge: It is writte: man shall not live by breed only but by every worde of God. ⁵ And ye devyll toke him vp into an hye moutayne and shewed him all the kyngdoms of the worlde eve in ye twincklinge of an eye. ⁶ And ye devyll sayde vnto him: all this power will I geve ye every whit and the glory of the: for yt is delyvered to me and to whosoever I will I geve it. ⁷ Yf thou therfore wilt worshippe me they shalbe all thyne. ⁸ Iesus answered him and sayde: hence from me Sathan. For it is written: Thou shalt honour the Lorde thy God and him only serve. ⁹ And he caryed him to Ierusalem and set him on a pynacle of the temple and sayd vnto him: Yf thou be the sonne of God cast thy silfe doune from hens. ¹⁰ For it is written he shall geve his angels charge over the to kepe the ¹¹ and with there hondis they shall stey the vp that thou dasshe not thy fote agaynst a stone. ¹² Iesus answered and sayde to him it is sayd: thou shalt not tempte the Lorde thy God. ¹³ Assone as the devyll had ended all his temptacions he departed from him for a season.

¹⁸ And Moses went in to the mountayne And Moses was in the mounte .xl. dayes and xl. nyghtes.

²⁸ And he was there with the Lorde .xl. dayes ad .xl. nyghtes, ad nether ate bred nor dronke water. And he wrote in the tables the wordes of the couenaunt: euen ten verses.

¹¹ And whe the .xl. dayes and .xl. nyghtes were ended, the Lorde gaue me: the two tables off stone, the tables of the testament,

¹⁸ And I fell before the Lorde: euen as at the first tyme .xl. dayes ad .xl nightes and nether ate bred nor dranke water ouer all youre synnes whiche ye had synned in doynge wekedly in the syght of the Lorde ad in prouokinge him.

²⁵ And I fell before the Lorde .xl. dayes and xl. nightes whiche I laye there, for the Lorde was minded to haue destroyed you.

⁵³ Ether thinkest thou that I cannot now praye to my father and he shall geve me moo then .xii. legions of angelles?

¹² When Iesus had hearde yt Ihon was taken he departed into Galile

²³ And Iesus went aboute all Galile teachyng in their synagoges and preachynge ye gospell of the kyngdome and healed all maner of sicknes and all maner dyseases amoge ye people.

³⁵ But when he sawe the people he had copassion on the because they were pyned awaye and scattered abroade eve as shepe havige no shepherd.

² When Ihon beinge in preson hearde ye workes of Christ he sent two of his disciples

² and sayde vnto his servautes: This is Ihon ye baptist. He is risen agayne from deeth and therfore are soche myracles wrought by him.

²⁰ added this above all and leyd Iohn in preson.

¹⁷ And ther was delyvered vnto him ye boke of ye Prophete Esaias. And when he had opened the boke he founde the place where it was written. ¹⁸ The sprete of the lorde vpon me because he hath annoynted me: to preache ye gospell to ye poore he hath sent me: and to heale the broken harted: to preache delyverauce to the captive and sight to the blinde and frely to set at lyberte them that are brused ¹⁹ and to preache the acceptable yeare of the Lorde.

⁴³ And he sayde vnto the: I muste to other cities also preache the kyngdome of God: for therfore am I sent. ⁴⁴ And he preached in the synagoges of Galile.

¹ And it fortuned after that that he him sylfe went throughout cities and tounes preachynge and shewinge ye kyngdom of God and the twelve with him.

²² After these thinges cam Iesus and his disciples into the Iewes londe and ther he haunted with them and baptised. ²³ And Iohn also baptised in Enon besydes Salim because ther was moche water there and they came and were baptised. ²⁴ For Iohn was not yet cast into preson.

²⁵ And now beholde I am sure yt hence forth ye all (thorow who I have gone preachinge ye kyngdome of God) shall se my face no moore.

²³ And when they had apoynted him a daye ther came many vnto him into his lodgynge. To whom he expounded and testifyed the kyngdome of God and preached vnto the of Iesu: both out of the lawe of Moses and also out of the prophetes even from mornynge to nyght.

¹⁷ and came and preached peace to you which were afarre of and to them that were nye.

But the publicans and the harlotes beleved him. And yet ye (though ye sawe it) were not yet moved with repentaunce that ye myght afterwarde have beleved hym.

⁹ and heale the sicke yt are theare and saye vnto them: the kyngdome of God is come nye vpon you.

¹¹ even the very dust which cleaveth on vs of your citie we wipe of agaynst you: Not withstondinge marke this that ye kyngdome of God was come nie vpon you.

⁴⁷ and that repentaunce and remission of synnes shuld be preached in his name amonge all nacions and must beginne at Ierusalem.

³⁶ So therfore let all the housse of Israel knowe for a suerty yt God hath made ye same Iesus whom ye have crucified lorde and Christ. ³⁷ When they hearde this they were pricked in their hertes and sayd vnto Peter and vnto the other Apostles: Ye men and brethre what shall we do? ³⁸ Peter sayde vnto them: repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Iesus Christ for the remission of synnes and ye shall receave the gyfte of the holy goost.

²¹ witnessinge bothe to the Iewes and also to the Grekes the repentaunce toward God and faith towarde oure Lorde Iesu.

²⁶ but now is opened by ye scriptures of prophesie at the commaundement of the everlastinge god to stere vp obedience to the faith publisshed amonge all nacions:

⁴ But when the tyme was full come God sent his sonne borne of a woman and made bonde vnto ye lawe

¹⁰ to have it declared when the tyme were full come yt all thynges bothe ye thynges which are in heven and also the thynges which are in erthe shuld be gaddered togedder even in Christ:

²⁵ the evyll in meknes and can informe them that resist yf that god at eny tyme will geve them repentauce for to knowe the trueth: ²⁶ that they maye come to the selves agayne out of the snare of the devyll which are now taken of him at his will.

¹⁸ As Iesus walked by the see of Galile he sawe two brethren: Simon which was called Peter and Andrew his brother castynge a neet into the see for they were fisshers ¹⁹ and he sayde vnto them folowe me and I will make you fisshers of men. ²⁰ And they strayght waye lefte their nettes and folowed hym. ²¹ And he went forthe from thence and sawe other twoo brethren Iames the sonne of zebede and Ihon his brother in the shippe with zebede their father mendynge their nettes and called them. ²² And they with out taryinge lefte the shyp and their father and folowed hym.

¹⁶ As he walked by the see of Galile he sawe Simon and Andrew his brother castinge nettes into ye see for they were fysshers. ¹⁷ And Iesus sayde vnto them: folowe me and I will make you fisshers of men. ¹⁸ And strayght waye they forsoke their nettes and folowed him. ¹⁹ And when he had gone a lytell further thence he sawe Iames the sonne of zebede and Ihon his brother even as they were in the shyppe mendinge their nettes. ²⁰ And anone he called them. And they leeft their father zebede in the shippe with his hyred servauntes and went their waye after him.

¹⁶ And he gave vnto Simon to name Peter.

¹⁸ And Andrew and Philip and Bartlemew and Mathew and Thomas and Iames the sonne of Alphey and Taddeus and Symon of Cane

¹ It came to passe as the people preased vpon him to heare the worde of God that he stoode by the lake of Genezareth: ² and sawe two shippes stonde by the lake syde but the fisshermen were gone out of the and were wasshynge their nettes. ³ And he entred in to one of the shippes which perteyned to Simon and prayed him that he wolde thrust out a litell from the londe. And he sate doune and taught the people out of the ship. ⁴ When he had leeft speakynge he sayde vnto Simon: Launche out in to the depe and let slippe youre nettes to make a draught ⁵ And Simon answered and sayde to him: Master we have labored all nyght and have taken nothinge. Neverthelater at thy worde I will loose forthe the net. ⁶ And when they had so done they inclosed a greate multitude of fisshes. And their net brake: ⁷ but they made signes to their felowes which were in the other ship that they shuld come and helpe the And they came: and filled bothe the shippes that they soncke agayne. ⁸ When Simon Peter sawe that he fell doune at Iesus knees sayinge: Lorde goo ⁹ fro me for I am a synfull man. For he was vtterly astonyed and all that were wt him at ye draught of fisshe which they toke: ¹⁰ and so was also Iames and Iohn ye sonnes of zebede which were parteners wt Simon. And Iesus sayde vnto Simon: feare not fro hence forthe thou shalt catche men. ¹¹ And they brought the shippes to londe and forsoke all and folowed him.

¹⁴ Simon who he named Peter: and Andrew his brother. Iames and Iho Philip and Bartlemew

⁴⁰ One of the two which hearde Iohn speake and folowed Iesus was Andrew Simon Peters brother. ⁴¹ The same founde his brother Simon fyrst and sayde vnto him: we have founde Messias which is by interpretacion annoynted: ⁴² and brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him and sayde: thou arte Simon the sonne of Ionas thou shalt be called Cephas: which is by interpretacion a stone.

⁸ Then sayde vnto him one of his disciples Andrew Simon Peters brother.

²² Philip came and tolde Andrew. And agayne Andrew and Philip tolde Iesus.

¹³ And when they were come in they went vp into a parler where abode both Peter and Iames Iohn and Andrew Philip and Thomas Bartlemew and Mathew Iames the sonne of Alpheus and Simo Zelotes and Iudas Iames sonne.

¹⁹ and he sayde vnto them folowe me and I will make you fisshers of men. ²⁰ And they strayght waye lefte their nettes and folowed hym.

¹⁰ and so was also Iames and Iohn ye sonnes of zebede which were parteners wt Simon. And Iesus sayde vnto Simon: feare not fro hence forthe thou shalt catche men.

³⁸ Peter sayde vnto them: repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Iesus Christ for the remission of synnes and ye shall receave the gyfte of the holy goost. ³⁹ For ye promyse was made vnto you and to youre chyldre and to all that are afarre even as many as ye Lorde oure God shall call. ⁴⁰ And with many other wordes bare he witnes and exhorted them sayinge: Save youre selves from this vntowarde generacion. ⁴¹ Then they that gladly receaved his preachynge were baptised: and the same daye ther were added vnto them aboute thre thousande soules.

²⁷ Then answered Peter and sayde to him: Beholde we have forsaken all and folowed the what shall we have? ²⁸ Iesus sayde vnto them: verely I saye to you: when the sonne of man shall syt in ye seate of his maieste ye which folowe me in ye seconde generacion shall syt also vpon .xii. seates and iudge ye .xii. tribes of Israel. ²⁹ And whosoever forsaketh housses or brethren or systers other father or mother or wyfe or chyldren or landes for my names sake ye same shall receave an hundred folde and shall inheret everlastynge lyfe. ³⁰ Many that are fyrste shalbe laste and the laste shalbe fyrste.

²⁸ And Peter begane to saye vnto him: Lo we have forsaken all and have folowed the. ²⁹ Iesus answered and sayde: Verely I saye vnto you ther is no man that forsaketh housse or brethren or sisters or father or mother or wyfe other chyldren or londes for my sake and the gospelles ³⁰ which shall not receave an houndred foolde nowe in this lyfe: houses and brethren and sisters and mothers and chyldren and londes with persecucions: and in the worlde to come eternall lyfe. ³¹ Many that are fyrst shalbe last: and the last fyrst.

¹¹ And they brought the shippes to londe and forsoke all and folowed him.

³³ So lykewyse none of you yt forsaketh not all yt he hath can be my disciple.

²⁸ Then Peter sayde: Loo we have lefte all and have folowed the. ²⁹ And he sayde vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you ther is noo man that leaveth housse other father and mother other brethren or wyfe or chyldren for the kyngdome of Goddes sake ³⁰ which same shall not receave moche moore in this worlde: and in the worlde to come lyfe everlastinge.

⁸ Ye I thinke all thynges but losse for that excellet knowledges sake of Christ Iesu my lorde. For whom I have counted all thynge losse and do iudge them but donge that I myght wynne Christ

²¹ And he went forthe from thence and sawe other twoo brethren Iames the sonne of zebede and Ihon his brother in the shippe with zebede their father mendynge their nettes and called them.

¹⁷ And he called Iames the sonne of zebede and Iohn Iames brother and gave them Bonarges to name which is to saye the sonnes of thounder.

³⁷ And he suffred no man to folowe him moo then Peter and Iames and Ihon the brother of Iames.

² And his rayment dyd shyne and was made very whyte even as snowe: so whyte as noo fuller can make apon the erth.

³⁵ And then Iames and Iohn ye sonnes of zebede came vnto him sayinge: master we wolde that thou shuldest do for vs what soever we desyre.

³³ And he toke with him Peter Iames and Iohn and he began to waxe abasshed and to be in an agonye

² And he kylled Iames the brother of Iohn with the swerde:

⁹ He that saieth vnto his father ad mother. I sawe him not, ad vnto his brethern I knewe not, and to his sonne I wote not: for they haue obserued thi wordes and kepte thy testament.

²¹ But Iesus sayd vnto him: folowe me and let the deed burie their deed. ²² And he entred in to a shyppe and his disciples folowed him.

³⁷ He that lovith hys father or mother more then me is not mete for me. And he that loveth his sonne or doughter more then me is not mete for me.

²⁹ Iesus answered and sayde: Verely I saye vnto you ther is no man that forsaketh housse or brethren or sisters or father or mother or wyfe other chyldren or londes for my sake and the gospelles

²⁶ If a man come to me and hate not his father and mother and wyfe and chyldren and brethren and sisters more over and his awne lyfe he cannot be my disciple.

¹⁶ Wherfore henceforth knowe we no man after the flesshe. In somoche though we have knowe Christ after the flesshe now hence forthe knowe we hym so no more.

¹³ and left Nazareth and went and dwelte in Capernaum which is a cite apon the see in ye coostes of zabulon and Neptalim

¹⁶ And he came to Nazareth where he was noursed and as hys custome was went in to the synagoge on the Saboth dayes and stode vp for to rede.

³¹ and came in to Capernaum a cyte of Galile and there taught the on the Saboth dayes. ³² And they were astonyed at his doctrine: for his preachige was wt power. ³³ And in the synagoge ther was a ma which had a sprete of an vncleane devell and cryed with aloude voyce ³⁴ sayinge: let me alone what hast thou to do with vs thou Iesus of Nazareth? Arte thou come to destroye vs? I knowe the what thou arte eve the holy of God. ³⁵ And Iesus rebuked him sayinge: holde thy peace and come oute of him. And the devyll threwe him in the myddes of them and came oute of him and hurt him not. ³⁶ And feare came on them all and they spake amonge them selves sayinge: what maner a thinge is this? But beholde ther cometh one after me whose shewes of his fete I am not worthy to lowse. ²⁶ Ye men and brethren chyldren of the generacion of Abraham and whosoever amoge you feareth God to you is this worde of salvacio sent. ²⁷ The inhabiters of Ierusalem and their rulers because they knewe him not nor yet the voyces of the Prophetes which are redde every Saboth daye they have fulfilled them in condepninge him. ²⁸ And when they founde no cause of deeth in him yet desyred they Pylate to kyll him. ²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all that were written of him they toke him doune from the tree and put him in a sepulcre. ³⁰ But God raysed him agayne from deeth ³¹ and he was sene many dayes of them which came wt him fro Galile to Ierusalem. Which are his witnesses vnto the people. ³² And we declare vnto you how that ye promes made vnto the fathers ³³ God hath fulfilled vnto vs their chyldre in that he reysed vp Iesus agayne eve as it is written in the fyrste psalme: Thou arte my sonne this same daye begat I the. ³⁴ As concernynge that he reysed him vp from deeth now no more to returne to corrupcion he sayde on this wyse: The holy promyses made to David I will geve them faithfully to you. ³⁵ Wherfore he saith also in another place: Thou shalt not soffre thyne holye to se corrupcion. ³⁶ Howbe it David after he had in his tyme fulfilled the will of God he slepte and was layde with his fathers and sawe corrupcion. ³⁷ But he whom God reysed agayne sawe no corrupcion. ³⁸ Be it knowne vnto you therfore ye men and brethre that thorow this man is preached vnto you the forgevenes of synnes ³⁹ and yt by him are all yt beleve iustified fro all thinges fro the which ye coulde not be iustified by ye lawe of Moses. ⁴⁰ Beware therfore lest that fall on you which is spoken of in the Prophetes: ⁴¹ Beholde ye despisers and wonder and perishe ye: for I do aworke in youre dayes which ye shall not beleve yf a ma wolde declare it you. ⁴² When they were come out of the Synagoge of the Iewes the getyls besought yt they wolde preache the worde to them bitwene the Saboth dayes. ⁴³ When the congregacion was broken vp many of the Iewes and verteous covertes folowed Paul and Barnabas which spake to them and exhorted them to cotinue in the grace of God. ⁴⁴ And ye nexte Saboth daye came almoste the whole cite to gether to heare the worde of God. ⁴⁵ When ye Iewes sawe the people they were full of indignacion and spake agaynst those thinges which were spoken of Paul spekinge agaynst it and raylinge on it. ⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas wexed bolde and sayde: it was mete that the worde of God shulde fyrst have bene preached to you. But seinge ye put it from you and thinke youre selfes onworthy of everlastinge lyfe: lo we turne to the gentyls. ⁴⁷ For so hath the Lorde comaunded vs: I have made ye a light to the getyls yt thou be salvacio vnto ye ende of ye worlde. ⁴⁸ The getyls hearde and were glad and glorified the worde of ye Lorde and beleved: eve as many as were ordeyned vnto eternall lyfe. ⁴⁹ And ye worde of the Lorde was publisshed thorowe oute all the region. ⁵⁰ But the Iewes moved ye worshypfull and honorable wemen and the chefe men of the cyte and reysed persecucio agaynst Paul and Barnabas and expelled them oute of their costes. ⁵¹ And they shouke of ye duste of their fete agaynst them and came vnto Iconiu. ⁵² And the disciples were filled with ioye and with the holy goost.

² And Paul as his maner was went in vnto them and thre saboth doyes declared oute of the scripture vnto them

⁴ And he preached in ye synagoge every saboth daye and exhorted the Iewes and the gentyls.

²⁸ For he taught them as one havynge power and not as the Scribes. ²⁹ When he was come downe from the moutayne moch people folowed him.

⁵⁴ and came in to his awne coutre and taught them in their synagoges in so moche yt they were astonyed and sayde: whece cometh all this wysdome and power vnto him?

¹⁶ Wo be vnto you blynd gides which saye whosoever sweare by the teple it is no thinge: but whosoever sweare by the golde of the temple he offendeth. ¹⁷ Ye foles and blinde? whether is greater the golde or the teple that sanctifieth ye golde. ¹⁸ And whosoever sweareth by the aulter it is nothinge: but whosoever sweareth by ye offeringe yt lyeth on ye aultre offendeth. ¹⁹ Ye foles and blinde: whether is greater ye offeringe or ye aultre which sanctifieth ye offeringe? ²⁰ Whosoever therfore sweareth by ye aultre sweareth by it and by all yt there on is. ²¹ And whosoever sweareth by the teple sweareth by it and by hym yt dwelleth therin. ²² And he that sweareth by heve swereth by the seate of God and by hym that sytteth theron. ²³ Wo be to you Scribes and Pharises ypocrites which tythe mynt annyse and comen and leave the waygthtyer mattres of ye lawe vndone: iudgemet mercy and fayth. These ought ye to have done and not to have left the othre vndone. ²⁴ Ye blinde gydes which strayne out a gnat and swalowe a cammyll.

³ For the pharises and all the Iewes excepte they washe their hondes ofte eate not observinge the tradicions of the elders. ⁴ And whe they come from the market except they washe they eate not. And many other thinges ther be which they have taken apon them to observe as the wasshinge of cuppes and cruses and of brasen vessels and of tables. ⁵ Then axed him the pharises and sribes why walke not thy disciples accordinge to ye tradicions of the elders but eate breede with vnweshen hondes? ⁶ He answered and sayde vnto them: well prophesied Esaias of you ypocrites as it is writte: This people honoreth me with their lyppes but their hert is farre from me: ⁷ In vayne they worshippe me teachinge doctryns which are nothinge but ye comaundementes of men. ⁸ For ye laye the commaundement of God aparte and observe the tradicions of men as the wesshinge of cruses and of cuppes and many other suche lyke thinges ye do. ⁹ And he sayde vnto them: well ye cast asyde the comaundement of God to mayntayne youre owne tradicios. ¹⁰ For Moses sayde: Honoure thy father and thy mother: and whosoever cursseth father or mother let him dye for it. ¹¹ But ye saye: a man shall saye to father or mother Corban: which is: that thou desyrest of me to helpe the with is geven God. ¹² And so ye soffre him no more to do ought for his father or his mother ¹³ makinge the worde of God of none effecte through youre awne tradicions which ye have ordeyned. And many soche thinges ye do.

³² And they were astonyed at his doctrine: for his preachige was wt power.

¹⁵ for I will geve you a mouth and wisdome where agaynste all youre adversarys shall not be able to speake nor resist.

⁴⁶ The servautes answered never man spake as this man doeth.

¹⁰ And they coulde not resist the wysdome and the sprete with which he spake.

¹ And the Lord spake vnto Moses ad uto Aaro saynge: ² whe there apeareth a rysinge in any mas flesh ether a scabbe or a glistrige whyte: as though the plage of leprosye were in the skynne of his flesh, then let him be brought vnto Aaron the preast or vnto one of hys sonnes the preastes, ³ and let the preast loke on the sore that is in the skynne of his fleshe. Yf the heer in the sore be turned vnto whyte, and the sore also seme to be lower than the skynne of his fleshe then it is suerly a leprosye, and let the preast loke on him and make hym vnclene. ⁴ Yf there be but a white plecke in the skynne of his fleshe and seme not to be lower than the other skynne nor the heer thereof is turned unto white: then let the preast shitt him vpp seuen dayes. ⁵ And let the preast loke apon hym the .vij. daye: yf the sore seme to him to abyde styll and to go no further in the skyne, then let the preast shutt him vppe yet .vij. dayes moo. ⁶ And let the preast loke on him agayne the .vij. daye. Then yf the sore be waxed blackesh and is not growen abrode in the skynne, let the preast make him clene, for it is but a skyrfe. And let him wasshe his clothes, and then he is clene ⁷ But and yf the scabbe growe in the skynne after that he is sene of the preast agayne. ⁸ Yf the preast se that the scabbe be growen abrode in the skynne, let him make him vnclene: for it is suerly a leprosye. ⁹ Yf the plage of leprosye be in a man, let hi be broughte vnto the preast, ¹⁰ and let the preast se him. Yf the rysinge apeare white in the skynne ad haue also made the heer white, ad there be rawe flesh in the sore also: ¹¹ then it is an olde leprosye in the skynne of his flesh. And the preast shall make him vnclene, ad shall not shutte him vp for he is vnclene. ¹² Yf a leprosye breake out in the skynne and couer all the skynne from the heed to the fote ouer all wheresoeuer the preast loketh, ¹³ then let the preast loke apon him. Yf the leprosye haue couered all his flesh, let him make the disease clene: for in as moch as he is altogether white he is therfore cleane. ¹⁴ But and yf there be rawe flesh on him when he is sene, then he shalbe vncleane.

¹⁰ and the cloude departed from of the tabernacle. And beholde MyrIam was become leprous as it were snowe And when Aaron looked apon Mir Iam and sawe that she was leprous ¹¹ he sayed vnto Moses: Oh I beseche the my lorde put not the synne apon vs which we haue folishly commytted and synned. ¹² Oh let her not be as one that came deed oute of his mothers wombe: for halfe hyr fleshe is eaten awaye. ¹³ And Moses cryed vnto the Lorde sayenge: Oh god heale her. ¹⁴ And the Lorde sayed vnto Moses: Yf hir father had spitte in hyr face sholde she not be ashamed .vij. dayes? let her be shut out of the hoste .vij. dayes and after that let her be receyued in agayne. ¹⁵ And Mir Iam was shett out of the hoste .vij. dayes: ad the people remoued not till she was broughte in agayne.

⁸ Take hede to thy selfe as concernynge the plage of leprosye, that thou obserue diligently to doo acordinge to all that the preastes the leuites shall theach the, as I commaunded them so ye shall obserue to doo. ⁹ Remembre what the Lorde thy God dyd vnto Mir Iam by the waye, after that ye were come out off Egipte.

¹² And it fortuned as he was in a certayne cite: beholde ther was a man full of leprosy: and when he had spied Iesus he fell on his face and besought him sayinge: Lorde yf thou wilt thou canst make me cleane. ¹³ And he strethed forth ye hond and touched him sayinge: I will be thou cleane. And immediatly the leprosy departed from him. ¹⁴ And he warned him that he shuld tell no man: but that he shuld goo and shewe him selfe to the Preste and offer for his clensynge accordinge as Moses commaundement was for a witnes vnto them.

Which stode a farre of ¹³ and put forth their voyces and sayde: Iesu master have mercy on vs. ¹⁴ When he sawe the he sayde vnto them: Goo and shewe youre selves to the prestes. And it chaunsed as they went they were clensed. ¹⁵ And one of them when he sawe that he was clensed turned backe agayne and with a loude voyce praysed God ¹⁶ and fell doune on his face at his fete and gave him thankes. And the same was a Samaritane. ¹⁷ And Iesus answered and sayde: are ther not ten clensed? But where are those nyne? ¹⁸ Ther are not founde that returned agane to geve God prayse save only this straunger. ¹⁹ And he sayde vnto him: aryse and goo thy waye thy faith hath made the whoale.

¹⁴ For this cause I bowe my knees vnto the father of oure lorde Iesus Christ

³ Than God sayd: let there be lyghte and there was lyghte.

³⁶ Then sayde he to hys disciples: the hervest is greate but the laborers are feawe.

³⁹ And he rose vp and rebuked the wynde and sayde vnto the see: peace and be still. And the winde alayed and ther folowed a greate calme.

³⁴ And Iesus went out and sawe moche people and had compassion on them because they were lyke shepe which had no shepeherde. And he beganne to teache them many thinges.

¹² When he came nye to the gate of the cite: beholde ther was a deed man caried out which was ye only sonne of his mother and she was a widowe and moche people of the cite was with her. ¹³ And when ye lorde sawe her he had compassion on her and sayde vnto her: wepe not.

³ Which sonne beynge the brightnes of his glory and very ymage of his substance bearinge vp all thinges with the worde of his power hath in his awne person pourged oure synnes and is sitten on the right honde of the maiestie an hye

¹⁷ Wherfore in all thynges it became him to be made lyke vnto his brethre that he myght be mercifull and a faythfull hye preste in thynges concernynge god for to pourge the peoples synnes.

²⁸ Then Iesus answered and sayde vnto her. O woman greate is thy faith be it to the even as thou desyrest. And her doughter was made whole even at that same houre.

³¹ And he came and toke her by the honde and lifte her vp: and the fever forsoke hir by and by: and she ministred vnto them.

²⁹ And streyght waye her foutayne of bloude was dryed vp aud she felt in her body that she was healed of the plage.

⁵⁰ Iesus sayde vnto him goo thy waye thy sonne liveth. And the ma beleved ye wordes yt Iesus had spoke vnto him and wet his waye. ⁵¹ And anone as he went on his waye his servantes met him and tolde him sayinge: thy chylde liveth. ⁵² Then enquyred he of the the houre when he begane to amende. And they sayde vnto him: Yester daye the sevethe houre the fever lefte him. ⁵³ And the father knew that it was the same houre in which Iesus sayde vnto him: Thy sonne liveth. And he beleved and all his housholde.

³ Now are ye cleane thorow ye wordes which I have spoke vnto you.

³⁰ But they assone as they were departed spreed abroade his name through oute all the londe.

⁴³ And he charged the straytely that no man shuld knowe of it and comaunded to geve her meate.

³⁶ And he comaunded them that they shuld tell no man. But the more he forbad them soo moche the more a greate deale they publesshed it:

⁵⁶ And the father and the mother of hyr were astonyed. But he warned the that they shuld tell noo man what was done.

¹ And the Lorde spake vnto Moses saynge: ² this is the lawe of a leper when he shalbe clesed. he shalbe broughte vnto the preast, ³ and the preast shall goo out without the hoste and loke apo him. Yf the plage of leprosye be healed in the leper, ⁴ the shall the preast commaunde that there be brought for hi that shalbe clensed .ij. lyuynge byrdes that are cleane, ad cipresse wodd, and a pece of purple cloth and ysope. ⁵ And the preast shall comaunde that one of the byrdes be kylled ouer an erthe vessell of runnynge water. ⁶ And the preast shall take the lyuynge byrde and the cypresse wodd and the purple ad the ysope, ad shall dyppe the and the lyuynge byrde in the bloude of the slayne byrde and in the renynge water ⁷ and sprinkle it apon him that must be clensed of his leprosye .vij. tymes and clense him and shall let the lyuynge byrde goo fre in to the feldes. ⁸ And he that is clesed shall wasshe his clothes and shaue off all his heer ad wasshe himselfe in water, and the he is cleane. And after that he shall come in to the hoste but shall tarye without his tet .vij. dayes. ⁹ Whe the seuenth daye is come, he shall shaue off al his heer both apo his heade ad his berde ad on his browes: ad eue all the heer that is on him, shalbe shauen off. And he shall wasshe his clothes and his flesh in water and then he shalbe cleane. ¹⁰ And when the .viij. daye is come, let him take ij. lambes without blemysh and a yewelambe of a yere olde without blemysh, and .iij. tenthdeales of fyne floure for a meatofferynge myngled with oyle, and a logge of oyle. ¹¹ Than let the preast that maketh him cleane, brynge the man that is made cleane with those thynges before the Lorde vnto the dore of the tabernacle of witnesse. ¹² And lett the preast take one of the labes and offer him for a trespaceofferynge, and the logge of oyle: and waue them before the Lorde. ¹³ And than let him slee the lambe in the place where the synofferynge and the burntofferynge are slayne: eue in the holy place. for as the synofferynge is, eue so is the trespace offerynge the preastes: for it is most holy. ¹⁴ Than lett the preast take of the bloude of the trespaceofferynge, and put it apo the typpe of the right eare of him that is clensed, and apon the thombe of his righte hande and apon the greate too of his righte fote. ¹⁵ Then let the preast take of the logge of oyle and poure it in to the palme of his lefte hande, ¹⁶ ad dippe his right finger in the oyle that is in the palme of his lefte hand, ad let him sprinkle it with his fynger vij. tymes before the Lorde. ¹⁷ And of the rest of the oyle that is in his hande, shall the preast put apon the typpe of the righte eare of him that is clensed, and apon the thombe of his righte hande, and apon the great too of his righte fote: eue apon the bloude of the trespaceofferynge. ¹⁸ And the remnaunte of the oyle that is in the preastes hande, he shall poure apon the heede off hym that is clensed: and so shall the preaste make an attonement for him before the Lorde, ¹⁹ Then let the preast offer the synneofferynge, ad make an attonement for him that is clensed for his vnclenesse. And tha let the burntoffrynge be slayne, ²⁰ ad let the preast put both the burntofferynge and the meateoffrynge apo the alter: ad make an attonement for him, ad tha he shalbe cleane. ²¹ Yf he be poore ad can not gett so moch, tha let him bringe one lambe for a trespaceoffrynge to waue it and to make an attonement for him, ad a tenth deale of fine floure myngled with oyle for a meatoffrynge ad a logge of oyle, ²² ad two turtyll doues or two yonge pygeons which he is able to gett ad let the one be a synneoffrynge and the other a burntoffryng. ²³ And let him brynge them the .viij, daye for his clensynge vnto the preast to the dore of the tabernacle of witnesse before the Lorde. ²⁴ And let the preast take the lambe that is the trespaceoffrynge and the logge of oyle, ad waue them before the Lorde. ²⁵ And whe the lambe of the trespaceoffrynge is kylled, the preast shall take of the bloude of the trespaceoffrynge, and put it apon the typpe of his righte eare that is clensed, and apon the thombe of his righte hande, and apon the greate too of hys righte fote. ²⁶ And the preast shall poure of the oyle in to his righte hande, ²⁷ and shall sprinkle with his finger of the oyle that is in his lefte hande .vij. tymes before the Lord. ²⁸ And the preast shall put of the oyle that is in his hande (apon the typpe of the righte eare of hi that is clensed, and apo the thombe of his righte hande and apon the great too of his righte fote: euen in the place where the bloude of the trespaceofferynge was put, ²⁹ And the reste of the oyle that is in his hande, he shall poure apon the heede of him that is clensed: to make an attonemet for him before the Lorde. ³⁰ And he shall offer one of the turtyll doues or of the yonge pigeons, soch as he can gett: ³¹ the one for a synneofferynge and the other for a burntoffrynge apo the alter. And so shall the preast make an attonemet for him that is clensed before the Lorde. ³² This is the lawe of him that hath the plage of leprosye, whose hand is not able to gett that which pertayneth to hys clensynge.

⁴ When Iesus was entred into Capernau ther came vnto him a certayne Centurion and besought hym
