³¹ And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

¹⁷ And David spoke unto the LORD when he saw the angel that stroke the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let your hand, I pray you, be against me, and against my father's house.

⁴ Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.

¹⁴ Said unto them, All of you have brought this man unto me, as one that perverts the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man concerning those things whereof all of you accuse him: ¹⁵ No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.

⁹ And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit (o. pneuma) or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

²⁹ Whom I perceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.

²⁵ But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself has appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.

¹⁸ Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

¹⁶ Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

¹⁴ If all of you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are all of you; for the spirit (o. pneuma) of glory and of God rests upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. ¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. ¹⁶ Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
