¹ Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. ² Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if all of you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. ³ For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. ⁴ Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; all of you are fallen from grace. ⁵ For we through the Spirit (o. pneuma) wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. ⁶ For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love. (o. agape) ⁷ All of you did run well; who did hinder you that all of you should not obey the truth? ⁸ This persuasion comes not of him that calls you. ⁹ A little leaven leavens the whole lump. ¹⁰ I have confidence in you through the Lord, that all of you will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubles you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. ¹¹ And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. ¹² I would they were even cut off which trouble you. ¹³ For, brethren, all of you have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love (o. agape) serve one another. ¹⁴ For all the law is fulfilled in one word, (o. logos) even in this; You shall love your neighbour as yourself. ¹⁵ But if all of you bite and devour one another, take heed that all of you be not consumed one of another. ¹⁶ This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, (o. pneuma) and all of you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, (o. pneuma) and the Spirit (o. pneuma) against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that all of you cannot do the things that all of you would. ¹⁸ But if all of you be led of the Spirit, (o. pneuma) all of you are not under the law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, worldy jealousies, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit (o. pneuma) is love, (o. agape) joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ Meekness, wilful restrain: against such there is no law. ²⁴ And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. ²⁵ If we live in the Spirit, (o. pneuma) let us also walk in the Spirit. (o. pneuma) ²⁶ Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

³⁴ But the stranger that dwells with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for all of you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

³ Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goes unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD.

¹⁹ And it shall be, if you do at all forget the LORD your God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that all of you shall surely perish.

²⁶ Cursed be he that confirms not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

²¹ And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.

³⁴ Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor hearkened unto your commandments and your testimonies, wherewith you did testify against them.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.

⁴ Concerning the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

²⁰ I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

⁵ And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. ⁶ The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. ⁷ And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. ⁸ And the nursing infant shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. ⁹ They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

¹³ The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

¹⁶ Come all of you near unto me, hear all of you this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, has sent me. ¹⁷ Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD your God which teaches you to profit, which leads you by the way that you should go. ¹⁸ O that you had hearkened to my commandments! then had your peace been as a river, and your righteousness as the waves of the sea:

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

²⁵ The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him. ²⁶ It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

⁶ Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in you to their power to shed blood. ⁷ In you have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of you have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in you have they vexed the fatherless and the widow. ⁸ You have despised mine holy things, and have profaned my sabbaths. ⁹ In you are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in you they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of you they commit lewdness. ¹⁰ In you have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in you have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution. ¹¹ And one has committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father's daughter. ¹² In you have they taken gifts to shed blood; you have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbours by extortion, and have forgotten me, says the Lord GOD. ¹³ Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been in the midst of you.

¹⁸ Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.

²⁷ And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and all of you shall keep my judgments, and do them.

⁶ Therefore turn you to your God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on your God continually.

⁸ Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is your fruit found.

⁶ Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

¹² Therefore all things whatsoever all of you would that men should do to you, do all of you even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

¹⁶ All of you shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? ¹⁷ Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. ¹⁸ A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. ¹⁹ Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. ²⁰ Wherefore by their fruits all of you shall know them.

²⁸ Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and all of you shall find rest unto your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

³⁰ He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathers not with me scatters abroad.

³³ Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

²¹ Yet has he not root in himself, but endures for a while: for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, (o. logos) by and by he is offended.

¹⁸ But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

⁶ Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. ⁷ And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. ⁸ Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O all of you of little faith, why reason all of you among yourselves, because all of you have brought no bread? ⁹ Do all of you not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets all of you took up? ¹⁰ Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets all of you took up? ¹¹ How is it that all of you do not understand that I spoke it not to you concerning bread, that all of you should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? ¹² Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto you, but my Father which is in heaven.

²³ But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get you behind me, Satan: you are an offence unto me: for you savour not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

¹⁸ He says unto him, Which? Jesus said, You shall do no murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, ¹⁹ Honour your father and your mother: and, You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

³⁹ And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. ⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

⁴ For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

³³ All of you serpents, all of you generation of vipers, how can all of you escape the damnation of hell?

³¹ When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: ³² And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: ³³ And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. ³⁴ Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, all of you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

⁴¹ Watch and pray, that all of you enter not into temptation: the spirit (o. pneuma) indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: ²³ All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

¹⁵ And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

⁴³ But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: ⁴⁴ And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. ⁴⁵ For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

³¹ And the second is like, namely this, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.

³³ And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

¹⁸ The Spirit (o. pneuma) of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. ¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, (o. logos) keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

²⁷ And he answering said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself. ²⁸ And he said unto him, You have answered right: this do, and you shall live. ²⁹ But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? ³⁰ And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. ³¹ And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. ³² And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. ³³ But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, ³⁴ And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. ³⁵ And on the next day when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever you spend more, when I come again, I will repay you. ³⁶ Which now of these three, think you, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? ³⁷ And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do you likewise.

¹ In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware all of you of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

⁹ And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down.

²¹ It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

¹⁰ But when you are bidden, go and sit down in the low room; that when he that bade you comes, he may say unto you, Friend, go up higher: then shall you have worship in the presence of them that sit to eat with you.

³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with worldly excess, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unexpectedly.

³³ And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death.

⁴⁶ And said unto them, Why sleep all of you? rise and pray, lest all of you enter into temptation.

⁵⁴ Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed far off. ⁵⁵ And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. ⁵⁶ But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him. ⁵⁷ And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. ⁵⁸ And after a little while another saw him, and said, You are also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. ⁵⁹ And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Truthfully this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean. ⁶⁰ And Peter said, Man, I know not what you say. And immediately, while he yet spoke, the cock crew. ⁶¹ And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word (o. logos) of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, you shall deny me three times.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit (o. pneuma) is spirit. (o. pneuma)

⁶³ It is the spirit that gives life; (o. pneuma) the flesh profits nothing: the words (o. rhema) that I speak unto you, they are spirit, (o. pneuma) and they are life.

³² And all of you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ³³ They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how say you, All of you shall be made free? ³⁴ Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. ³⁵ And the servant abides not in the house for ever: but the Son abides ever. ³⁶ If the Son therefore shall make you free, all of you shall be free indeed.

³⁴ They answered and said unto him, You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us? And they cast him out.

⁸ And when he has come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: ⁹ Of sin, because they believe not on me; ¹⁰ Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and all of you see me no more; ¹¹ Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. ¹² I have yet many things to say unto you, but all of you cannot bear them now. ¹³ Nevertheless when he, the Spirit (o. pneuma) of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

¹³ Nevertheless when he, the Spirit (o. pneuma) of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. ¹⁴ He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. ¹⁵ All things that the Father has are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.

Amen. ²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: ²⁷ And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. ²⁸ And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; ²⁹ Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, ill will; whisperers, ³⁰ Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ Without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, refusing to reconcile, unmerciful: ³² Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
