⁷ The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.

³¹ And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray you, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

¹⁴ And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.

¹² He dissapoints the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. ¹³ He takes the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the perverse is carried headlong.

⁶ your own mouth condemns you, and not I: yea, your own lips testify against you.

²² In the fullness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.

¹⁶ Even so would he have removed you out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no strictness; and that which should be set on your table should be full of fatness.

¹² When you go, your steps shall not be straitened; and when you run, you shall not stumble.

⁶ It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness.
