¹³ They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.

¹¹ My foot has held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. ¹² Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

¹⁹ The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

⁴⁷ And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. ⁴⁸ But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

³¹ Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If all of you continue in my word, (o. logos) then are all of you my disciples indeed;

⁴⁴ All of you are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father all of you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

³⁹ And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. ⁴⁰ And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? ⁴¹ Jesus said unto them, If all of you were blind, all of you should have no sin: but now all of you say, We see; therefore your sin remains.

³⁵ Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while all of you have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walks in darkness knows not where he goes.

⁴⁰ He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

⁶ If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

²² If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. ²³ He that hates me hates my Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

³² Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

¹⁷ Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast of God, ¹⁸ And know his will, and approve the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law; ¹⁹ And are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, ²⁰ An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which have the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. ²¹ You therefore which teach another, teach you not yourself? you that preach a man should not steal, do you steal? ²² You that say a man should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? you that abhor idols, do you commit sacrilege? ²³ You that make your boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonour you God? ²⁴ For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

¹¹ There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. ¹² They are all gone out of the way, they are together become useless; there is none that does good, no, not one. ¹³ Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: ¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: ¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood: ¹⁶ Destruction and misery are in their ways: ¹⁷ And the way of peace have they not known:

¹⁰ And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love (o. agape) of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: ¹² That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹⁷ Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.

²⁰ For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. ²¹ For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. ²² But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

⁶ And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
