Psalms 57:1-11

1 Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed. 2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who accomplishes my requests for me. 3 He will send from heaven and save me; he will reproach the one who tramples me. Selah God will send his loyal love and his faithfulness. 4 My soul is among lions; I lie among those on fire, the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. 5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be above all the earth. 6 They have laid a net for my feet, and pressed down my soul: they have digged a pit before me, and are fallen into it themselves. Selah. 7 My heart is steadfast, O God; My heart is steadfast. I will sing and give praise. 8 Awake, my glory; Awake, harp and lyre. I will awake the dawn. 9 I will praise you, O Lord, among the people: I will sing to you among the nations. 10 For Your benignity is great unto the heavens, And Your faithfulness unto the skies." 11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.

Psalms 142:1-7

1 I cry with my voice to the LORD. With my voice, I ask the LORD for mercy. 2 I pour out my complaint before him. I tell him my troubles. 3 When my spirit faints within me, you know my way. On the path where I walk, they have hidden a trap for me; 4 Look on my right, and see; for there is no one who is concerned for me. Refuge has fled from me. No one cares for my soul. 5 I cry out to you, O LORD. I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living." 6 Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need. Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. 7 Release me from prison so that I may praise your name. Righteous people will surround me because you are good to me.
