³⁰ The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

²¹ These things you have done, and I have kept silence; you thought that I was like yourself, but I will rebuke you, and set in order before your eyes.

² and saying, "Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is near."

¹⁷ From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

¹⁵ "The time is ripe and the kingdom of God is near; repent and believe in the good news."

¹² They went out and preached that people should repent.

⁵ No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

¹⁰ In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

¹⁹ Repent therefore, and turn again, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

¹⁸ When they heard this, their objections were put to rest, and they glorified God, saying, “So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life.”

²³ For as I walked around and examined your objects of worship, I even found an altar with the inscription: To an unknown God. Therefore what you worship as something unknown, I now proclaim to you.

²¹ I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance to God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

¹⁷ I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them ¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.' ¹⁹ So, then, King Agrippa, I did not go against the vision from heaven; ²⁰ but to those in Damascus first, and in Jerusalem and all the region of Judea and to the Gentiles, I proclaimed that they should repent and turn to God, doing deeds worthy of repentance.

²⁸ And since they did not see fit to retain the knowledge of God, God gave them over to a base mind, to do what ought not to be done.

⁴ Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance?

²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

²⁵ God presented Him as an atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand.

¹⁰ Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

¹⁷ So I tell you this, and testify to it in the Lord: You must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. ¹⁸ They are darkened in their understanding and alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts. ¹⁹ Having lost all sense of shame, they have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity, with a craving for more. ²⁰ But you did not learn Christ that way; ²¹ Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him in keeping with the truth that is in Jesus. ²² You were taught, with regard to your former manner of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful lusts; ²³ And be made new in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. ²⁵ Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are members of one another. ²⁶ In your anger, do not sin! Do not let the sun set while you remain angry. ²⁷ and do not give the devil a foothold. ²⁸ He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need. ²⁹ Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen. ³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. ³¹ Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice. ³² Be kind and tender-hearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience. ⁷ Therefore do not be partners with them; ⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

¹¹ For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, ¹² It trains us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and Godly lives in this present age,

¹⁴ As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires as in your ignorance, ¹⁵ But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do,

³ For you have spent enough time in the past doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and lawless idolatry.
