¹² "When a fellow Hebrew male or female slave is sold to you and serves you for six years, then in the seventh year you shall set them free. ¹³ But when you set them free, don't send them away empty-handed. ¹⁴ "Supply him liberally from your flock and from your threshing floor and from your wine vat. Give to him as the LORD your God has blessed you. ¹⁵ "Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you. ⁷ In you have they treated father and mother with contempt. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.

⁷ they trample on the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and deny justice to the oppressed; and a man and his father use the same girl, to profane My holy name;

⁵ I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and do not fear me," says the LORD of hosts.

⁷ Stay at the same house, eating and drinking whatever you are offered. For the worker is worthy of his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
