1 And the LORD said to Moses, Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh. For by a strong hand he will let them go and by a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.
2 And God said to Moses, I am the LORD:
3 "I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name, the LORD, I did not make myself known to them.
4 "I also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they lived as foreigners.
5 And I also have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians are enslaving. And I have remembered My covenant.
6 Therefore say to the Israelites, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the forced labor of Egypt, and I will deliver you from their slavery, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great punishments.
7 I'll take you for my own people, and I'll be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
8 And I will bring you into the land which I raised My hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. And I will give it to you for a possession. I am the LORD!
9 And Moses spoke thus to the Israelites, but they did not listen to Moses, because of discouragement and because of hard work.
10 Then the LORD said to Moses,
11 "Go, speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that he should let the Israelites go out of his land."
12 And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, "Look, the Israelites do not listen to me, and how will Pharaoh listen to me, since I am a poor speaker?"
13 And the lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, and he ordered them to Pharaoh king of Egypt, so as to lead out the sons of Israel from out of the land of Egypt.
14 These are the heads of their families. The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, are Enoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These are the clans of Reuben.
15 The sons of Simeon are Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar and Shaul, the son of the Canaanitess; these are the families of Simeon.
16 These are the names of Levi's sons according to their genealogies: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei in their kindreds.
18 Kohath's descendants included Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Now Kohath lived for 133 years.
19 And the sons of Merari: Mahli, and Mushi. These were the families of Levi according to their generations.
20 Amram married Jocebed, his father's sister, and she bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived for 137 years.
21 The sons of Izhar are Korah, Nepheg and Zichri.
22 The sons of Uzziel are Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.
23 Aaron married Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24 The sons of Korah are Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These are the Korahite families.
25 But Eleazar the son of Aaron took a wife of the daughters of Phutiel: and she bore him Phinees. These are the heads of the Levitical families by their kindreds.
26 This is the same Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, "Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their tribal divisions."
27 They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the sons of Israel from Egypt. It was the same Moses and Aaron.
28 On the day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,
29 the LORD said to Moses, “I am the LORD. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I tell you.”
