¹⁴ God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years;

²² "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will never cease."

¹³ I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.

¹⁹ and lest having looked up to the sky, and having seen the sun and the moon and the stars, and all the heavenly bodies, you should go astray and worship them, and serve them, which the Lord your God has distributed to all the nations under heaven.

⁹ "Let its morning stars become dark and cause it to wait for daylight in vain and not see the first rays of dawn,

³ "Can his forces be numbered? Upon whom does his light not rise?

⁵ "If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his eyes,

¹ For the conclusion. A Psalm by David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament proclaimeth the work of his hands. ² Day after day they pour forth speech, and night after night they display knowledge. ³ There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. ⁴ Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, ⁵ which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. ⁶ It rises from one end of the heavens. It circles around to the other. Nothing is hidden from its heat.

¹⁶ Yours is the day, and yours is the night; you established the moon and the sun. ¹⁷ You set all the boundaries of the earth; you made summer and winter.

³ Blow the ram's horn in the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.

¹⁹ He made the moon for seasons; the sun knows its going down. ²⁰ You bring darkness and it becomes night; when every beast of the forest prowls.

⁷ Who made the great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever. ⁸ the sun to rule by day; for His grace endures forever; ⁹ the moon and stars to rule by night; for His grace endures forever:

³ Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars.

⁶ And he put them in place forever and ever, by a decree he gave that will not pass away.

²⁶ "Lift your eyes and look to the heavens. Who created all these? The being that brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name created all these! Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

² This is what the LORD says: "Don't learn the way of the nations, and don't be terrified by signs in the heavens, though the nations are terrified of them.

³⁵ So says the LORD, who gives the sun for a light by day, the laws of the moon, and the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar, the LORD Almighty is His name.

²⁰ "Thus says the LORD: 'If you could break my covenant with the day, and my covenant with the night, so that day and night would not come at their time,

²⁵ This is what the LORD says: 'If I had not established my covenant for day and night and the laws that govern the heavens and earth,

⁷ "'When I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud and the moon will not give its light. ⁸ "'All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you. And I will set darkness on your land,' proclaims the Sovereign LORD.

¹ Thus sayeth the LORD God: the door of the innermore court toward the East shall be shut the six working days: but in the Sabbath and in the day of the new Moon, it shall be opened.

⁶ On the day of the new moon it shall be a young bull without defect, and six lambs, and a ram. They shall be without defect.

¹⁰ Before them the earth quaketh, the heavens tremble; the sun and the moon are become black, and the stars withdraw their shining.

³⁰ I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.

¹⁵ The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will stop shining.

⁸ The one who made the Pleiades and Orion and who turns deep darkness into the morning and darkens day into night, the one who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the LORD is his name!

⁹ And then in that day," declares my Sovereign LORD, "I will make the sun go down at noon and I will darken the land on a day of light.

² and asked, "Where is the one who was born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."

² He replied, "In the evening you say, 'It will be fine weather, for the sky is red;' ³ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times!

²⁹ "Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from heaven and the powers of heaven will be shaken.

²⁴ But in those days, after that distress, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give her light;

²⁵ “There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, at the roaring and tossing of the sea; ²⁶ Men will faint from fear and anxiety over what is coming upon the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

⁴⁵ For the sun was darkened. And the veil of the temple was torn in two.

¹⁹ I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and clouds of smoke. ²⁰ The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

¹² And I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake, the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon turned the colour of blood.

¹² The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them darkened. And a third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

² The star opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke rose out of it like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the pit.
