² Shake off your dust! Rise up and sit enthroned, O Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, O captive Daughter of Zion.

²⁶ and her gates shall lament and mourn; and, stripped, she shall sit upon the ground.

⁴ You will be brought down, and will speak out of the ground. Your speech will mumble out of the dust. Your voice will be as of one who has a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and your speech will whisper out of the dust.

²¹ Then you will say in your heart, "Who has borne me these?" And, "I was bereaved and barren, exiled and thrust away; so who raised these? Look at me! I was left alone; ⌊where have these come from⌋?"

⁶ Flee from Babylon, and each of you, escape with your life! Don't be destroyed because of her guilt, for it's time for the LORD's vengeance. He is paying back what is due to her.

⁴⁵ »Get out of her, my people! Run for your lives! Run from the burning anger of the LORD.

⁵⁰ You people escaped from the sword. Now leave! Do not just stand there. Remember the LORD in a distant land and think about Jerusalem.
