³ "Maybe the nation of Judah will hear about all the disasters that I devise to bring on them, and they will turn from their wicked ways. Then I will forgive their wickedness and their sins."

²⁹ Oh that they had such a heart with them to fear me and keep all my commandments always, that it might go well with them and with their children forever.

² »If you and your children return to the LORD your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your being, doing everything I command you today,

⁸ "You shall again obey the LORD, and observe all his commandments that I command you today.

³ And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, saying, If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, put aside the alien gods from among you, and the Ashtoreths. And prepare your heart to the LORD, and serve Him only, and He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

⁴⁸ and return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who captured them; and pray to you toward the land you gave their fathers - the city you chose and the house I built for your name: ⁴⁹ then in heaven, the place where you live, hear their prayer for mercy. Do what is right for them. ⁵⁰ »Forgive your people, who have sinned against you. Forgive all their wrongs when they rebelled against you. Cause those who captured them to have mercy on them.

³⁸ if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity where they captured them; and pray in the way of the land you gave their fathers and the city you chose and the house I built for your name: ³⁹ then hear from heaven, even from Your dwelling place, their prayer and their petitions, and uphold their case and forgive Your people who have sinned against You.

⁹ but if you return to me, keeping my commands and doing them, even if your exiled people are in the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place where I have chosen to establish my Name.

¹⁰ Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn, and be healed.

⁶ Seek the LORD while he may be found. Call on him while he is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

⁸ But if that nation about which I spoke turns from its evil way, I'll change my mind about the disaster that I had planned for it.

¹¹ "Now say to the people of Judah and to those who live in Jerusalem, This is what the LORD says: 'I am going to prepare a disaster and make a plot against you. Turn from your evil ways, change your lives, and do good.'

¹⁴ In the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.”

⁷ I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God; for they will return to me with their whole heart.

³ Perhaps they will listen and turn back each from his evil way, and I will relent of the disaster that I am planning to do to them because of their evil deeds.

¹⁵ I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending, saying, Each man now return from his evil way, and amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall live in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers. But you have not bowed your ear, nor listened to Me.

⁷ Perhaps their plea will fall before the LORD and each one will turn away from his evil way, for great is the anger and wrath that the LORD pronounced against this people."

³ Therefore, you son of man, prepare you belongings for moving, and move by day in their sight; and you shall move from your place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.

²³ '"Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Sovereign LORD, that he should turn from his ways and live?

²⁷ Again, when a wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed and does what is lawful and right, he will save his soul alive. ²⁸ Because he considers and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he will surely live. He will not die.

⁷ "So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. ⁸ When I say to the wicked man, O wicked man, you will surely die and you do not speak to warn the wicked man from his way, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand. ⁹ "But if you warn a wicked man to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life.

¹⁴ Again, when I say to the wicked man, You will surely die, if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right, ¹⁵ if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he will surely live. He will not die. ¹⁶ None of his sins that he has committed will be remembered against him. He has done what is lawful and right; he will surely live.

⁸ but let man and beast be covered with sackcloth and cry mightily unto God; and let each one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. ⁹ Who knows? God may relent and change his mind and turn from his blazing anger so that we will not perish." ¹⁰ And when God saw their works, how they turned from their wicked ways, he repented on the evil which he said he would do unto them, and did it not.

³ seek the LORD, all you humble people of the land, who do what he commands. Seek righteousness! Seek humility! Maybe you will be protected in the day of the LORD's anger."

⁷ But when John saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his place of baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Produce fruit worthy of repentance. ⁹ And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

¹⁵ For this people’s heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’

¹² so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven.’”

⁷ Then John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. ⁹ The ax lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

¹³ Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.'

¹⁹ Repent therefore, and turn again, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

²⁰ but to those in Damascus first, and in Jerusalem and all the region of Judea and to the Gentiles, I proclaimed that they should repent and turn to God, doing deeds worthy of repentance.

²⁷ For this people’s heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’

²⁵ He must gently reprove those who oppose him, in the hope that God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth. ²⁶ And that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

⁹ The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
