¹⁸ If you saw a thief, you ran along with him, and have cast in your lot with adulterers.

¹² Look, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches. ¹³ Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure, and washed my hands in innocence. ¹⁴ For all day long I have been plagued, and punished every morning. ¹⁵ If I had said, "I will speak thus;" look, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.

¹⁵ My son, do not go along with them, and keep your feet away from their paths!

¹² to rescue you from the way of evil - from the man who words perversions:

¹⁴ Do not enter into the path of the wicked. Do not walk in the way of evil men.

²⁰ One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
