²⁷ "He draws up drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams.

¹⁰ He causes springs to gush forth into rivers that flow between the mountains. ¹¹ They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild donkeys quench their thirst. ¹² The birds of the sky nest by them, they sing among the branches. ¹³ He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. ¹⁴ He causes grass to sprout for the cattle and plants for people to cultivate, to produce food from the land,

³⁵ He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs.

⁸ He covers the sky with clouds. He provides rain for the ground. He makes grass grow on the mountains. ⁹ He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call.

¹ The wilderness and the dry land will be glad. The desert will rejoice and blossom like the crocus. ² It will blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, the excellency of our God.

¹⁸ "I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs. ¹⁹ "I will put the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive in the desert. I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together.

¹⁹ Look! I am about to do a new thing! Now it sprouts! Do you not perceive it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. ²⁰ The field life shall glorify Me; the jackals and the ostrich. For I provide water in the wilderness, streams in the desolation, to give drink to My people, and My chosen."

²² Can any of the worthless gods of the nations make it rain? Can the heavens themselves bring forth showers? Aren't you the one who does this, LORD our God? So we hope in you, for you are the one who does all these things.

⁷ Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God. ⁸ But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned.
