⁵ And I sent Moses and Aaron and plagued Egypt, as I did in its midst. And afterward I brought you out.

¹⁰ So go! I am sending you to Pharaoh. Bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt."

¹² Now go and I - I am with your mouth and direct you what to word. ¹³ Moses said, “Oh, Lord, please send someone else.” ¹⁴ the LORD's anger burned against Moses, and he said, “What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he is coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

¹ And the LORD said to Moses, See, I have made you a god to Pharaoh; and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet. ² You are to speak all that I've commanded you, and then your brother Aaron will speak to Pharaoh, telling him to let the Israelites go out of his land. ³ But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that I may multiply my miracles and my wonders in the land of Egypt. ⁴ But Pharaoh will not listen to you, so I will lay my hand on Egypt, and bring out my armies, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. ⁵ And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out my hand over Egypt and bring the Israelites out from their midst." ⁶ Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them. ⁷ And Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron eighty- three, when they spoke to Pharao. ⁸ the LORD said to Moses and Aaron: ⁹ “When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, 'Perform a miracle!' then you shall tell Aaron, 'Take your rod, and cast it down before Pharaoh, and it will become a serpent.'” ¹⁰ Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh. They did as the LORD commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials. It became a large snake. ¹¹ Then Pharaoh sent for his wise men and sorcerers. These Egyptian magicians did the same thing using their magic spells. ¹² So each one threw down his staff and it became a serpent, but Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.

³⁷ The Israelites left Rameses to go to Succoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, plus all the women and children.

⁵¹ And on that very day, the LORD brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their tribal divisions.

⁴³ when he performed his miraculous signs in Egypt, his wonders in the fields of Zoan. ⁴⁴ when he turned their rivers to blood so they could not drink from their streams. ⁴⁵ He sent among them flies that devoured them and frogs that destroyed them. ⁴⁶ He gave their crops to grasshoppers and their produce to locusts. ⁴⁷ He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore trees with sleet. ⁴⁸ He gave up their cattle to the hail, and their flocks to bolts of fire. ⁴⁹ He sent against them his fierce anger, rage and indignation and trouble, a band of destroying angels. ⁵⁰ He cleared a path for his anger. He did not spare them from death but handed their life over to the plague. ⁵¹ And he struck all the first-born in Egypt, the firstfruits of strength in the tents of Ham;

²⁶ He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen. ²⁷ They performed his signs among them, his wonders in the land of Ham. ²⁸ He sent darkness, and made it dark. And they rebelled against his words. ²⁹ He turned their waters into blood, and caused their fish to die. ³⁰ Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the rooms of their kings. ³¹ He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats in all their country. ³² He turned their rain into hail, into flaming fire in their land. ³³ And he struck their vines and fig trees, and shattered the trees of their territory. ³⁴ He spoke, and the locusts came, and the grasshoppers, without number, ³⁵ They consumed every green plant in their land, and devoured the fruit of their soil. ³⁶ He struck also all the firstborn in their land, the first fruits of all their manhood.

⁸ He struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animal. ⁹ He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.

¹⁰ to Him who struck down the Egyptian firstborn; for His grace endures forever;
