⁴⁴ Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.”

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.

¹⁸ Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High.

¹⁰ The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs. To him will the obedience of the peoples be.

² And the LORD said to Moses, "Tell your brother Aaron that he should not enter at any time into the sanctuary behind the curtain in front of the atonement cover that is on the ark, so that he might not die, because I appear in the cloud over the atonement cover. ³ "Herewith shall Aaron come into the sanctuary: with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. ⁴ He shall put on the holy linen tunic. He shall have the linen trousers on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on. ⁵ And he shall take of the multitude of the children of Israel two goats for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. ⁶ And Aaron shall offer the young bull for his own sin offering, and make atonement for himself and his household. ⁷ And he is to take the two goats and put them before the Lord at the door of the Tent of meeting. ⁸ Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. ⁹ Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for the LORD, and offer him for a sin offering. ¹⁰ But the goat on which the lot fell for the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the LORD to make atonement for him, and then sent away as the scapegoat into the wilderness. ¹¹ Then Aaron shall bring forward the young bull for his own sin offering, to make atonement for himself and his household, and shall slay the young bull for his sin offering; ¹² And he is to take a vessel full of burning coal from the altar before the Lord and in his hand some sweet perfume crushed small, and take it inside the veil; ¹³ and he shall put the incense on the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the testimony, so that he will not die. ¹⁴ "He will take some of the bull's blood and sprinkle it with his finger on the east side of the throne of mercy. Then he will sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times in front of the throne of mercy. ¹⁵ Then let him put to death the goat of the sin-offering for the people, and take its blood inside the veil and do with it as he did with the blood of the ox, shaking drops of it on and before the cover of the ark. ¹⁶ and he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting, that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleanness. ¹⁷ No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel. ¹⁸ "He shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull's blood, and some of the goat's blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar. ¹⁹ He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

⁸ the LORD said to Moses: "Make a snake and put it on a pole. Anyone who is bitten can look at it and live."

²⁵ »If you are innocent, the community must protect you from that relative. They must take you back to the city of refuge you fled to. You must live there until the death of the chief priest who was anointed with the holy oil.

¹⁵ "the LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. Listen to him! ¹⁶ »This is according to all that you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly. You said: Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God. Do not let me see this great fire anymore, or I will die. ¹⁷ "the LORD said to me: 'They have spoken well. ¹⁸ I will raise them up a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put My words in his mouth and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him. ¹⁹ But if someone will not listen to those words that the prophet speaks in my name, I will hold him accountable.

¹ Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain? ² The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. ³ "Let us break their bands asunder and throw off from us their yoke." ⁴ The One who dwells in heaven laughs. the LORD scoffs at them. ⁵ Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his rage (fury). He says: ⁶ "But I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill." ⁷ I will tell of the decree. The LORD said to me, "You are my son. Today I have become your father. ⁸ "Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. ⁹ "You will rule them with an iron scepter. You will dash them to pieces like pottery!" ¹⁰ So then, O kings, be wise. Be warned, O rulers of the earth. ¹¹ Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. ¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed (happy) are all who take refuge (put trust) in him.

⁹ Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest secure. ¹⁰ You do not abandon me to the grave or allow your holy one to decay. ¹¹ You have made known to me the ways of life; You will fill me with joy with Your countenance: at Your right hand there are delights forever.

¹ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning? ² O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and in the night, and am not silent. ³ Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. ⁴ In You our fathers trusted; They trusted, and You delivered them." ⁵ They cried to you, and were delivered. They trusted in you, and were not disappointed. ⁶ But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by humankind and despised by people. ⁷ All who see me deride me; they bust out the lip, they shake the head, ⁸ "He trusts in the LORD; let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, since he delights in him." ⁹ But you brought me out of the womb. You made me trust while at my mother's breasts. ¹⁰ On you I was cast from the womb. From my mother's belly you have been my God. ¹¹ Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help. ¹² Many bulls have surrounded me, strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me. ¹³ they gape on me with their mouths as a tearing and a roaring lion. ¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted within me. ¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; and you have brought me into the dust of death. ¹⁶ For dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evil-doers has encircled me. They pierced my hands and my feet. ¹⁷ I can count all my bones. People stare and gloat over me. ¹⁸ They divide My garments among them and cast lots for My clothing. ¹⁹ But You, O LORD, be not far off; O My Strength, hurry to help Me! ²⁰ Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog. ²¹ Save me from the mouth of the lion, and from the horns of the wild oxen answer me. ²² I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the assembly, I will praise you. ²³ You who fear the LORD, praise him. All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him. Revere him, all you descendants of Israel. ²⁴ For He has not despised nor hated the affliction of the afflicted; and He has not hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard. ²⁵ From you comes my praise in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him. ²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD shall praise Him; your heart shall live forever. ²⁷ All the limits of the earth shall remember and return to the LORD, And all the families of the nations shall bow down before Him." ²⁸ Because the kingship belongs to the LORD, and he rules over the nations. ²⁹ All the fat ones of the earth will eat and worship. All those who go down to the dust will bow before him, even he who cannot keep his soul alive. ³⁰ Posterity shall serve him. Future generations shall be told about the Lord. ³¹ They will come and tell his saving deeds to a people yet to be born, that he has done it.

⁶ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me. Whole burnt offering and sin offering you did not require. ⁷ Then I said, "Look, I have come. It is written about me in the scroll of a book; ⁸ I delight to do your will, O my God: yes, your law is within my heart.

¹ Save me, God, for the waters have come up to my neck. ² I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. ³ I am weary with my crying. My throat is dry. My eyes fail looking for my God. ⁴ Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head. My persecutors are mighty, and they want to destroy me. Must I be forced to return what I did not steal? ⁵ God, you know my sins, and my guilt is not hidden from you. ⁶ Let those who wait for you not be put to shame because of me, O Sovereign LORD Almighty. Let those who seek you not be disgraced because of me, O God of Israel. ⁷ For I have suffered reproach for Your sake; shame has covered my face. ⁸ I am a stranger to my brothers, a foreigner to my mother's sons. ⁹ Zeal for your house consumes me, and the mockeries of those who insult you fall on me. ¹⁰ I weep and fast, and I am mocked for it. ¹¹ When I put on the clothing of grief, they said evil of me. ¹² Those who sit at the gate talk of me and I am the song of the drunkards. ¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation. ¹⁴ Rescue me from the mud and do not let me sink. Rescue me from those who hate me, and from the deep waters. ¹⁵ Do not let the torrent of waters flood over me, or the deep swallow me, or the pit close its mouth over me. ¹⁶ Answer me, O LORD, because your loyal love is good; according to your abundant mercies, turn to me, ¹⁷ Do not hide your face from your servant, for I am in distress. Answer me speedily. ¹⁸ Draw near and redeem me; ransom me because of my enemies. ¹⁹ You know my reproach and my shame, and my dishonor; my enemies are all before You. ²⁰ Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am overwhelmed: and I looked for sympathy, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. ²¹ They gave me also gall for my food, and made me drink vinegar for my thirst. ²² Let their table before them become a snare, may it become a retribution and a trap. ²³ Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see. Let their backs be continually bent. ²⁴ Pour out Your wrath on them; and let the glow of Your anger overtake them. ²⁵ Let their palace be desolate, and let no one dwell in their tents. ²⁶ For they persecute those whom you have struck, and they brag about the pain of those you have wounded. ²⁷ Charge them with crime upon crime. Do not let them come into your righteousness. ²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be written with the righteous. ²⁹ But I am in pain and distress. Let your salvation, God, protect me. ³⁰ I will praise the name of God in song, and magnify him with thanksgiving. ³¹ That will please the LORD more than oxen and bulls with horns and hooves. ³² The humble have seen and are glad; you who seek God, your heart shall live. ³³ For the LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people. ³⁴ Let heavens and earth praise him, the seas and all that moves in them, ³⁵ For God will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah. They shall settle there, and own it. ³⁶ The seed also of his servants will inherit it and those who love his name will dwell in it.

¹ By Solomon. God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son. ² He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice. ³ The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness. ⁴ May he defend the afflicted of the people and deliver the children of the poor, but crush the oppressor. ⁵ and continue, as long as the sun and moon, through all generations. ⁶ May he descend like rain on mown grass, like showers watering the earth. ⁷ In His days the righteous shall flourish, and plenty of peace, till the moon is not. ⁸ He shall also rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. ⁹ The dwellers in the desert shall bow before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust. ¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will bring tribute (presents). The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts. ¹¹ Yes, all kings will bow down before him. All nations will serve him. ¹² For he will deliver the needy who crieth, and the afflicted, who hath no helper; ¹³ He will have pity on the poor and needy, he will save the needy persons. ¹⁴ He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence; And precious will their blood be in his sight: ¹⁵ And he shall live, and the gold of Sheba shall be given to him. Men shall pray for him continually. He shall bless him all day long. ¹⁶ Abundance of grain shall be throughout the land. Its fruit sways like Lebanon. Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field. ¹⁷ His name endures forever, his name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed in him, all nations will call him blessed. ¹⁸ Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. ¹⁹ Blessed be to his glorious name forever. O LORD, God of my salvation, I cry out by day and through the night before you. ² Let my prayer come before you: incline your ear to my cry; ³ For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near the grave. ⁴ I am counted among those who go down into the pit. I am like a man who has no help, ⁵ set apart among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom you remember no more. They are cut off from your hand. ⁶ You have laid me in the lowest pit, in the darkest depths. ⁷ Your wrath lies heavily upon me; You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah. ⁸ You have taken my friends from me. You have made me an abomination to them. I am confined, and I can’t escape. ⁹ My eye languishes from misery. Your terrors have destroyed me. ¹⁷ They came around me like water all day long. They completely engulfed me. ¹⁸ You have taken my loved ones and friends far away from me. Darkness is my only friend!

⁴ In return for my love they accuse me, though I am in prayer. ⁵ And they repaid me evil for good: and hatred for my love. ⁶ Appoint the evil one to oppose him. Let an accuser stand at his right hand. ⁷ When he is judged, let him come out guilty, and let his prayer become as sin. ⁸ Let his days be few; and let another take his office of overseer. ⁹ May his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. ¹⁰ may his children be wandering beggars, let them be sought from their ruins. ¹¹ Let the creditor seize all that he has. Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor. ¹² May no one extend gracious love to him, or show favor to his fatherless children. ¹³ Let his descendants be cut off. Let their name be blotted out in the next generation. ¹⁴ Let the iniquity of his ancestors be remembered before the LORD, and let the sin of his mother not be blotted out. ¹⁵ let them be always before the LORD, so that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth; ¹⁶ For he didn't think to extend gracious love; he harassed to death the poor, the needy, and the broken hearted. ¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him; he also had no pleasure in blessing, and it was far from him. ¹⁸ He put on cursing like a robe, and it has come into his body like water, and into his bones like oil. ¹⁹ May those curses wrap around him like a garment, or like a belt that one always wears. ²⁰ May this be the way the LORD repays my accuser, those who speak evil against me.

¹ A Psalm by David. the LORD says to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. ² the LORD will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies. ³ Your people will volunteer in the day of your power. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth. ⁴ The LORD has sworn, and will not change his mind: "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek." ⁵ The Lord is at your right hand. He will crush kings in the day of his wrath. ⁶ He will judge among the nations. He will heap up dead bodies. He will crush the ruler of the whole earth. ⁷ He will drink of the brook in the way; therefore he will lift up his head.

²² The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

¹⁴ Therefore the LORD will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (God with us).

⁶ For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

¹ And a shoot will come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from its roots will bear fruit. ² The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. ³ His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears; ⁴ but with righteousness he will judge the poor, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked. ⁵ Righteousness will be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his waist. ⁶ The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together; and a little child will lead them. ⁷ Also the cow and the bear will graze. Their young will lie down together. And the lion will eat straw like the ox. ⁸ The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra. The weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den. ⁹ They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. ¹⁰ In that day the root of Jesse, who standeth for an ensign of the people, him the Gentiles shall beseech, and his sepulchre shall be glorious.

¹⁶ Therefore the Sovereign LORD says this: "Look! I am laying a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a founded foundation: 'The one who trusts will not panic.'

¹ "Comfort, comfort my people," says your God. ² Speak comfortably to Jerusalem and cry to her, that her warfare has been completed, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins. ³ A voice of one calling: "In the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD. Make straight in the desert a highway for our God. ⁴ "Every valley will be raised up! Every mountain and hill made low. The rough ground will become level and the rugged places a plain. ⁵ And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all humankind together shall see it, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken." ⁶ A voice shouts: "Cry out!" And I said: "What shall I cry?" The voice shouts: "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. ⁷ "The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass. ⁸ "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." ⁹ You bring good news to Zion. Go up on a high mountain. You bring good news to Jerusalem. Lift up your voice with a shout! Lift it up and do not be afraid! Say to the towns of Judah: "Here is your God!" ¹⁰ See the Sovereign Sovereign LORD comes with power. His arm (power) rules for him. See, his reward is with him and his recompense accompanies him. ¹¹ He tends his flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart. He gently leads those that have young.

¹ "Look my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom my soul delights. I have put my Spirit on him; he will bring justice to the nations. ² He will not shout or raise his voice or make loud speeches in the streets. ³ A bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench, but he will bring forth justice in truth. ⁴ He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice in the earth, and the islands wait for his law.”

¹ Hearken, ye Coastlands, unto me, And give ear ye peoples afar off,—the LORD, called me, from my birth, From my nativity, made he mention of my name; ² And He made My mouth like a sharp sword; He hid Me in the shadow of His hand, and made Me a polished arrow; He hid me in His quiver; ³ He said to me: "You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will show my glory." ⁴ But I said, “I have labored in vain. I have spent my strength in vain for nothing; yet surely the justice due to me is with the LORD, and my reward with my God.” ⁵ And now the LORD says, who formed me from the womb as a servant for him, to bring Jacob back to him, and that Israel might not be gathered, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD, and my God has become my strength. ⁶ yes, he says, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth. ⁷ Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to the one who is despised, to the abhorred of the nation, the servant of rulers: "Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of the LORD who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you." ⁸ Thus says the LORD, "In a season acceptable I answer you. And in a day of salvation I help you. And I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to set up the land, to allot the desolated allotments,

² Wherefore, When I came in, was there no one? When I called, was there none to answer? Is mine own hand, really shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or is there not, in me, strength to deliver? Lo! by my rebuke, I dry up the sea I make rivers a desert, Their fish Stinketh, for want of water, Yea dieth, for thirst: ³ I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering." ⁴ The Sovereign LORD has given Me the tongue of the learned, to know to help the weary with a word. He wakens morning by morning, He wakens the ear to hear as the learned. ⁵ The Sovereign LORD has opened my ear. I was not rebellious. I have not turned back. ⁶ I gave my back to those who struck me, and my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from insults and spittle.

¹³ My servant will act wisely. He will be raised, lifted up and highly exalted.

¹ The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound; ² to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; ³ to give for those in mourning in Zion, to give them a head wrap instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, a garment of praise instead of a faint spirit. And they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, to show his glory.

⁵ "The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch. He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.

¹⁴ 'Look, days are coming,' declares the LORD, 'and I will fulfill the good promise that I promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

²² The Sovereign LORD says thus: I will also take of the lofty top of the cedar and will set it. I will crop off a tender one from the topmost of its offshoots and I will plant it upon a high and lofty mountain.

²³ "'I will place one shepherd over them, my servant David. He will take care of them. He will take care of them and be their shepherd.

⁴⁴ “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.

¹³ I beheld in the night vision, and behold, One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven, and He came to the Ancient of Days, and was brought near to Him.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to put an end to the transgression, and to make an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place. ²⁵ “Know therefore and discern that from the going out of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Anointed One, the prince, will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be built again, with street and moat, even in troubled times. ²⁶ After the sixty-two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off, and will have nothing. The people of the prince who come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end will be with a flood, and war will be even to the end. Desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he shall confirm a covenant with the many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. And on a wing of the altar will be abominations that desolate, even until the end. And that which was decreed shall pour out on the desolator.

⁷ But I will have pity on the house of Judah and I will save them by Yahweh their God, and will not deliver them by bow, sword, war, horses, or horsemen. ⁸ Now when she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son. ⁹ the LORD said: "Name him Loammi for you are not my people, and I am not your God. ¹⁰ The number of the children of Israel will be like the sand of the sea that cannot be measured or counted; and in the place where it is said to them, "You are not my people," it will be said to them, "Children of the living God." ¹¹ And the people of Judah and the people of Israel will be united as one. They will appoint for themselves a single leader and will take dominion over the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.

⁵ Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days.

²⁸ “It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions. ²⁹ And also on the servants and on the handmaids I will pour out My Spirit in those days. ³⁰ I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke. ³¹ The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. ³² And it will happen—everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be rescued, because on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the LORD said, and among the survivors whom the LORD is calling.

¹¹ "At that time I will restore David's fallen tent, restoring its torn places. I will restore its ruins, rebuilding it as it was long ago,

¹ Now marshal yourselves as troops. He has laid siege to us. They will strike the judge of Israel on the cheek with a rod. ² But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times. ³ Therefore he will abandon them until the time that she who is in labor gives birth. Then the rest of his brothers will return to the children of Israel. ⁴ And he will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they will live, for now he will be great unto the ends of the earth.

⁷ And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts. ⁸ 'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD of hosts. ⁹ The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former, says the LORD of Hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says the LORD of Hosts.

¹² Then tell him, 'This is what the LORD of the Heavenly Armies says: "Here is the man whose name is The Branch. He will branch out from where he is and will rebuild the temple of the LORD.

⁹ Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion. Shout, daughter of Jerusalem. Look, your king comes to you. He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

⁸ In a single month I got rid of three shepherds because I grew tired of them, and they despised me. ⁹ "Then I said, 'I will not feed you! If you die go ahead and die. Let those that are left eat each other!" ¹⁰ And I took my staff Kindness and broke it, to break my covenant that I had made with all the peoples. ¹¹ And it was broken in that day, and so the poor of the flock who were watching Me knew that it was the word of the LORD. ¹² I said to them, If you think it best, give me my value; and if not, keep it. So they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver. ¹³ the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter, the handsome price that I was valued at by them!” I took the thirty pieces of silver, and threw them to the potter, in the LORD’s house.

¹⁰ I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn.

⁷ “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, and against the man who is close to me,” says the LORD of Armies. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; and I will turn my hand against the little ones.

⁴ His feet will stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. Then the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a very large valley, with half of the mountain moving toward the north and half toward the south.

¹ "Look, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me; and the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, look, he comes." says the LORD of hosts. ² "But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire, and like launderer's soap; ³ "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. He will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer to the LORD offerings in righteousness.

² But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise, with healing in its wings, and you will go out and leap like fattened calves. ³ You will trample down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I am going to act," says the LORD of hosts. ⁴ Remember the law of My servant Moses which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and judgments. ⁵ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and fearful day of the LORD comes. ⁶ He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.

²¹ From that time on Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and that He must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.

²² When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. ²³ They will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised to life.” And the disciples were deeply grieved.

¹⁸ "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the high priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death ¹⁹ and will deliver Him to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. And on the third day He will be raised to life.”

⁵⁴ But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”

⁵⁶ But this has all happened so that the writings of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted Him and fled.

³¹ Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and that He must be killed and after three days rise again. ³² He spoke plainly about this. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

³¹ because He was teaching His disciples. He told them, “The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after three days He will rise.”

³³ "We are going up to Jerusalem," he said, "and the Son of man will be betrayed to the high priests and scribes; they will sentence him to death and hand him over to the Gentiles, ³⁴ And they will mock him and spit on him and flog him and kill him, and after three days he will rise."

²² saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up."

⁴⁴ "Listen carefully to these words. The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into human hands."

³¹ And he took the Twelve aside and said to them, "See! we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything written in the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. ³² He will be handed over to the Gentiles and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon. ³³ and the third day he shall rise again. ³⁴ But the disciples did not understand any of these things. The meaning was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend what He was saying.

²² For these are the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that has been written.

³⁷ For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in Me: ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about Me is reaching its fulfillment.”

⁶ He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee: ⁷ 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.'"

²⁶ Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and enter his glory?" ²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things in all the scriptures, concerning himself.

⁴⁶ And He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

¹⁴ Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

³⁹ You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me,

⁴⁶ If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.

⁴ But I have told you this so that when the time comes you will remember that I told you about them. I did not tell you this in the beginning, because I was still with you." ⁵ But now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?'

¹⁶ In a little while you will see Me no more, and then after a little while you will see Me.” ¹⁷ So some of his disciples said to one another, "What does he mean by telling us, 'In a little while, you will behold me no longer; then, after a little, you shall see me'? and, 'I go to the Father'?"

¹¹ I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one. ¹² While I was with them, I protected and preserved them by Your name, the name You gave Me. Not one of them has been lost, except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. ¹³ But now I am coming to You, and I am saying these things while I am in the world, so that they may have My joy fulfilled within them.

²⁴ So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be." This happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: "They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots." This is what the soldiers did. ²⁵ By the cross of Jesus stood his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. ²⁶ When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, here is your son.” ²⁷ Then He said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” So from that hour, this disciple took her into his home. ²⁸ After this, knowing that everything was now accomplished so that the Scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus says, “I’m thirsty!” ²⁹ A jar of sour wine was sitting there. So they soaked a sponge in the wine, put it on a stalk of hyssop, and lifted it to His mouth. ³⁰ When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said: It is finished! And he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. ³¹ It was the day of Preparation, and the next day was a High Sabbath. In order that the bodies would not remain on the cross during the Sabbath, the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies removed. ³² So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and those of the other. ³³ But when they came to Jesus, and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. ³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and forthwith there came out blood and water. ³⁵ The one who saw it has testified to this, and his testimony is true. He knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe. ³⁶ Now these things happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of His bones will be broken.” ³⁷ And, as another Scripture says: “They will look on the One they have pierced.”

¹⁸ But in this way God has fulfilled what He foretold through all the prophets, saying that His Christ would suffer.

²² In fact, Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to everything he tells you. ²³ Everyone who does not heed His words will be completely cut off from among the people.’ ²⁴ Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have proclaimed these days.

³⁷ This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, 'God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren.'

²⁹ When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. ³⁰ But God raised him from the dead, ³¹ For many days he was seen by those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem; they are now his witnesses to the People.

³³ He has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son, today I have become Your Father.’

² As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbaths he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, ³ explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead. “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Christ,” he declared.

³ For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, ⁴ that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

⁵ Now Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be spoken later.

¹ This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

⁸ The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the holy place had not yet been disclosed as long as the outer tabernacle was still standing.

¹ The Law is only a shadow of the good things to come, not the realities themselves. It can never, by the same sacrifices offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

¹¹ trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, Do not do that: I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren, who hold to the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
