¹¹ The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have Me.

¹¹ For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you to surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor, in your land.

²⁰ For where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.”

³⁴ Then the King will say to those at His right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. ³⁵ For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, ³⁶ I was unclothed and you clothed me, I was ill and you looked after me, I was in prison and you visited me.' ³⁷ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? ³⁸ When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you? ³⁹ When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' ⁴⁰ And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’

⁴² For I was hungry, and you gave me nothing to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink: ⁴³ I was a stranger and you did not take me in; I was naked and you did not clothe me; I was sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ ⁴⁴ Then they will answer, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or needing clothes, or sick, or in prison, and did not wait on you?' ⁴⁵ Then the King will answer, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.’

²⁰ and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

⁷ The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them whenever you want. But you will not always have Me.

⁸ for you always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me."

³³ Little children, I am with you only a little longer. You will look for me, but what I told the Jews I now tell you, 'Where I am going, you cannot come.'

¹⁹ And the world will not see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also shall live.

⁵ But now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?'

²⁸ I did come from the Father and enter the world. Now I am leaving the world again and going back to the Father."

¹¹ I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one.

²¹ Heaven must take Him in until the time comes for the restoration of all things, which God announced long ago through His holy prophets.

¹⁰ All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.

¹⁷ If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?
