¹ the LORD said to Moses: ² Speak to Aaron, and say to him, When you bring the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand. ³ Aaron did so. He lit its lamps to light the area in front of the lampstand, as the LORD commanded Moses. ⁴ This is how the lamp stand was made: The whole lamp stand, from top to bottom, was hammered out of gold. It was made exactly like the one the LORD had shown Moses. ⁵ the LORD said to Moses: ⁶ Take the Levites out from among the children of Israel and make them clean. ⁷ You shall do this to them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them, let them shave their whole bodies with a razor, let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves. ⁸ They take a young bull along with its meal offering of flour mixed with oil. Then you take a second young bull as sin offering. ⁹ "Bring the Levites to the front of the tent of meeting. Assemble the whole congregation of Israel. ¹⁰ And you will bring the Levites before the LORD, and the Israelites will lay their hands on the Levites, ¹¹ "Aaron will present the Levites to the LORD as an offering from the Israelites. Then they will be ready to do the LORD’s work. ¹² And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks, and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, to LORD, to make atonement for the Levites. ¹³ "Make the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons, and present them as an offering to the LORD. ¹⁴ "In this way you will separate the Levites from the other Israelites. The Levites will be mine. ¹⁵ "Once you have made them clean and presented them as an offering, the Levites may come and do their work at the tent of meeting. ¹⁶ "They will be the only Israelites given to me. I have taken them to be mine as substitutes for every firstborn male offspring of the Israelites. ¹⁷ For all the first-born of the sons of Israel are Mine, both man and animal. On the day that I struck every first-born in the land of Egypt I set them apart for Myself. ¹⁸ And I have taken the Levites instead of all the first-born among the sons of Israel. ¹⁹ And I have given the Levites; they are given to Aaron and his sons from the midst of the Israelites to do the work of the Israelites in the tent of the assembly and to make atonement for the Israelites, so a plague will not be among the Israelites when the Israelites come near the sanctuary." ²⁰ Moses, Aaron, and all the people of Israel dedicated the Levites, as the LORD commanded Moses. ²¹ And the Levites purified themselves, and they washed their garments, and Aaron offered them as a wave offering before the LORD; and Aaron made atonement for them to purify them. ²² After this the Levites came to do their work in the tent of assembly before Aaron and his sons. Just as Yahweh commanded Moses concerning the Levities, so they did to them. ²³ the LORD said to Moses: ²⁴ This is the rule for the Levites: those of twenty-five years old and over are to go in and do the work of the Tent of meeting; ²⁵ but after fifty years of age, they are to be withdrawn from the service, and work no more. ²⁶ "They may assist the other Levites in their duties at the tent of meeting. But they may not do any regular work. This is how you will handle the Levites' duties."

³⁷ "Then make a total of seven lamps. Mount the lamps so that they shed light on the space in front of it.

¹⁸ Six on the two sides: three branches on one side, and three on the other. ¹⁹ three cups like almond-flowers in the one branch—apple and blossom, and, three cups like almond-flowers, in the next branch, apple and blossom, so for the six branches coming out of the lampstand;

²³ And he made its seven lamps, and its wick trimmers, and their trays, of pure gold.

²⁵ and set up the lamps before the LORD: as the LORD commanded Moses.

¹ the LORD spoke to Moses: ² "Command the Israelites to bring you pure, virgin olive oil for the lamp stand so that the lamps will not go out.

⁴ He shall order the lamps upon the pure lampstand before the LORD continually.

¹⁰⁵ NUN Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.

¹³⁰ The unfolding of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.

²⁰ To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because no light is in them.

¹⁴ You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

⁹ The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

¹⁹ And we have the prophetic word made more sure, and you will do well to pay attention to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

¹² And I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me. And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands;

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

⁵ Out from the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. In front of the throne seven blazing lamps were burning; they are the seven spirits of God.

⁹ "Make the tent and all its furnishings exactly like the plans I show you.

¹⁸ And make two cherubims of thick gold on the two ends of the mercy seat;

³¹ "You shall make a lamp stand of pure gold: the lamp stand and its base and stem shall be of hammered work, and its cups, calyxes, and flowers shall be of one piece with it. ³² Six branches shall proceed out of the sides of the candlestick, three out of the one side and three out of the other. ³³ three cups like almond-flowers, in the one branch apple and blossom, and thine cups like almond-flowers in the other branch apple and blossom, so, for the six branches, coming out of the lampstand. ³⁴ And in the lampstand itself, four cups,—like almond-flowers—its apples, and its blossoms; ³⁵ And under every two branches a bud, made with the branch, for all the six branches of it. ³⁶ Their buds and their branches shall be of one piece with it, all of it one beaten work of pure gold. ³⁷ "Then make a total of seven lamps. Mount the lamps so that they shed light on the space in front of it. ³⁸ Its tongs and trays shall be of pure gold. ³⁹ A talent of pure gold he shall make it, with all these vessels. ⁴⁰ See that thou make them according to the pattern shewn thee on this mount.

⁷ and made two cherubims of thick gold upon the two ends of the mercy seat:

¹⁷ He made the lampstand of pure gold. He made the lampstand of beaten work. Its base, its shaft, its cups, its buds, and its flowers were of one piece with it. ¹⁸ Six on the two sides: three branches on one side, and three on the other. ¹⁹ three cups like almond-flowers in the one branch—apple and blossom, and, three cups like almond-flowers, in the next branch, apple and blossom, so for the six branches coming out of the lampstand; ²⁰ In the lampstand were four cups made like almond blossoms, its buds and its flowers; ²¹ And under every two branches a bud, made with the branch, for all six branches of it. ²² Their buds and their branches were of one piece with it. The whole thing was one beaten work of pure gold. ²³ And he made its seven lamps, and its wick trimmers, and their trays, of pure gold. ²⁴ He made it and all its vessels from a talent of pure gold.

¹¹ Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the entrance hall and the Temple, the storerooms, upper rooms, inner rooms, and the room for the throne of mercy. ¹² and the pattern of all that he had in mind for the courts of the house of the LORD, and for all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of God's house, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things; ¹³ also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD; ¹⁴ of gold by weight for the gold, for all vessels of every kind of service; for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service; ¹⁵ the weight of the gold lamp stands and their gold lamps that is, the weight of gold for each lamp stand and its lamps, the weight of silver for each silver lamp stand and its lamps according to the use of each lamp stand for worship, ¹⁶ the weight of gold for each table with the rows of bread, and the silver for the silver tables, ¹⁷ the pure gold for the forks, bowls, and pitchers, the weight of each gold bowl, the weight of each silver bowl, ¹⁸ and the refined gold for the altar of incense. He also gave Solomon the plans for the chariot, that is, the gold angels with their wings spread to cover the Ark of the LORD’s Covenant. ¹⁹ the whole in writing, From the hand of the LORD upon me, to give understanding,—all the works of the pattern.

⁵ They serve in a sanctuary that is a copy, a shadow of the heavenly one. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain."

²³ It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

¹⁵ And he said to the people, Be ready for the third day; do not come near [your] wives.

¹¹ Get out of her my people! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the vessels of the LORD.

¹ Since we have these promises, dear friends, let's cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit by becoming mature in our holy fear of God.

⁸ Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.

² Then Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Get rid of the foreign gods that are in your midst and purify yourselves and change your garments.

¹⁰ And the LORD said to Moses, "Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. They must wash their clothes,

⁶ Then Moses brought Aaron and his sons and washed them with water.

⁷ And he shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean. And he shall send out the living bird into the open field. ⁸ “He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days. ⁹ And on the seventh day he shall shave off all the hair on his head, and beard, and his eye brows; and having shaved off all his hair, he shall wash his clothes, and wash his body with water, and he shall be clean.

⁶ He who sits on anything whereon the man who has the discharge sat shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening.

¹⁰ And whoever touches anything that was under him will be unclean until the evening. And he who bears those things will wash his clothes and bathe himself in water and be unclean until the evening. ¹¹ "'Whoever he who has the discharge touches, without having rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening.

²⁷ And whoever toucheth them shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the even.

²⁸ And he who burns them will wash his clothes and bathe his flesh in water and afterward he will come into the camp.

⁷ And let the priest wash his clothes and bathe his flesh in water, and then come into the host, and the priest shall be unclean unto the evening. ⁸ "'The person who burned the calf must also wash his clothes and his body. He will be unclean until evening. ⁹ And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of sprinkling; it is a purification from sin. ¹⁰ The one who gathers the ashes of the heifer will wash his garments; he will be unclean until evening. It will be an eternal decree for the Israelites and for one who dwells as an alien in their midst.

¹³ Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn't purify himself, defiles the LORD's tabernacle; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is yet on him.

¹⁷ For the unclean person they will take from the powder of the burnt purification offering, and they will put running water into a container. ¹⁸ »‘A person who is clean will take a sprig of hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle the tent, all the furnishings, and all the people who were in the tent with the dead body. He must also sprinkle any person who has touched a human bone or a grave and any person who has touched someone who has been killed or who has died naturally. ¹⁹ The clean person will spatter the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day he will purify him, and he will wash his garments; he will bathe in the waters, and in the evening he will be clean.

²⁰ "You must do the same for all the clothes and everything made of leather, goats' hair, or wood."

² Wash me from my iniquity, cleanse me from my sin.

⁷ Purge me with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

¹⁵ He will startle (amaze) (astonish) many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.

¹⁴ "O Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart so that you may be saved. How long will your wicked thoughts lodge within you?

²⁵ I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness, and from all your idols.

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee, first wash clean the inside of the cup or dish, and then the outside will be clean also.

¹⁰ They consist only in food and drink and special washings—external regulations imposed until the time of reform.

¹³ For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that their bodies are clean,

²¹ And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

¹⁴ I said to him, "Sir, you know." And he said to me, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹ "This is what you shall do to them to consecrate them to serve me as priests: Take a young bull, two rams without blemish,

³ and put them in a maund and bring them in the maund with the oil and the two rams.

³ “'If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without defect. He shall offer it at the door of the Tent of Meeting, that he may be accepted before the LORD.

¹ "'When anyone offers a grain offering to the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it.

³ "If it is the High Priest who sins and brings guilt on the people, he should present a young bull without any defects and sacrifice it to the LORD for his sin.

¹⁴ when the sin in which they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bull for a sin offering, and bring it before the Tent of Meeting.

² “Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and the bull of the sin offering, and the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread;

³ "Herewith shall Aaron come into the sanctuary: with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

⁸ When you prepare a bull as a burnt offering or a sacrifice to fulfill a vow or a fellowship offering for the LORD, ⁹ then he shall offer with the bull a meal offering of three tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil; ¹⁰ And you shall bring for a drink offering half a hin of wine, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to the LORD.

¹⁰ It was the LORD's will to allow him to be crushed. Even though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

³ For what the Law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh,

²¹ God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

⁴ You shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water. ⁵ Take the garments and clothe Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod, and the breast piece, and then gird him with the skillfully woven band of the ephod. ⁶ And put the turban upon his head, and give the holy diadem upon the turban. ⁷ Then take the oil and put it on his head. ⁸ And bring his sons and put albes upon them, ⁹ And you will gird Aaron and his sons with sashes and wrap headdresses on them. And priesthood will be theirs as a lasting rule, and you will ordain Aaron and his sons. ¹⁰ "You shall bring the bull in front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull. ¹¹ You shall kill the bull before Yahweh at the door of the Tent of Meeting. ¹² Take some of the blood of the bull, put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. ¹³ "Take all the fat that covers the internal organs, the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar. ¹⁴ You shall burn the flesh of the bull, its hide, and its refuse with fire outside the camp. It is a sin offering. ¹⁵ "Take one of the rams and Aaron and his sons are to put their hands on its head. ¹⁶ "Slaughter the ram. Take its blood and sprinkle it all around the altar. ¹⁷ "Cut the ram in pieces. Wash its internal organs and its legs, and put them on top of the head and the other pieces. ¹⁸ You shall burn the whole ram on the altar: it is a burnt offering to the LORD; it is a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD. ¹⁹ Take the other ram and Aaron and his sons are to put their hands on its head. ²⁰ "Kill it and take some of its blood and put it on the lobes of the right ears of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Sprinkle the rest of the blood all around the altar. ²¹ »Take some of the blood that is on the altar and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and his clothes and on his sons and their clothes. He, his sons, and their clothes will then be dedicated to me. ²² And you will take from the ram the fat and the fat tail and the fat covering the inner parts and the lobe of the liver and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them and the right thigh, because it is the ram of ordination. ²³ And one cake made with oil, and one cake from the basket of unleavened bread set forth before the Lord. ²⁴ "Put all this food in the hands of Aaron and his sons and have them dedicate it to me as a special gift. ²⁵ You shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar on the burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire to the LORD. ²⁶ "You shall take the breast of the ram of Aaron's ordination, and present it as a wave offering before the LORD, and it shall be your portion. ²⁷ You shall consecrate the portion of the ram of ordination that belongs to Aaron and his sons: the breast of the wave offering that was waved and the thigh of the presented offering that was presented. ²⁸ And it will be for Aaron and for his sons as a lasting rule from the Israelites, because it is a contribution, and it will be a contribution from the Israelites from their sacrifices of fellowship, their contribution to the LORD. ²⁹ "The holy garments of Aaron shall be for his sons after him so that they may be anointed in them and ordained in them. ³⁰ The priest his successor from among his sons who shall go into the tabernacle of witness to minister in the holies, shall put them on seven days. ³¹ And you will take the ram of ordination and boil its meat in a holy place. ³² Aaron and his sons shall eat the meat of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the Tent of Meeting. ³³ "They shall eat those things used for their atonement and their ordination and consecration. A layman shall not eat them, because they are holy. ³⁴ »If any of the flesh of ordination or any of the bread remains until morning it should be burned with fire. It should not be eaten because it is holy. ³⁵ "Do to Aaron and to his sons all that I have commanded you. Ordain them for seven days. ³⁶ »Offer a bull as a sin offering for atonement each day. Purify the altar when you make atonement for it. Anoint it to consecrate it. ³⁷ You shall make atonement for the altar for seven days and consecrate it. It will be most holy, and whatever touches it will be holy."

¹² Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the Tent of Meeting, and wash them with water.

³ "Gather the entire congregation at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting."

⁴ " 'He must lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering and it will be accepted for him in order to make atonement for him.

⁴⁵ Separate the Levites in place of all the first born sons of Israel and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites belong to me I am the LORD.

⁶ They presented these seven to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.

² While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul, for the work to which I have called them." ³ So after they had fasted and prayed, they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you through prophetic utterance when the council of elders laid their hands on you.

²² Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others; keep yourself pure.

²⁴ "Put all this food in the hands of Aaron and his sons and have them dedicate it to me as a special gift.

³⁰ With his own hands he shall bring the offerings of the LORD made by fire. He shall bring the fat with the breast, that the breast may be waved for a wave offering before the LORD.

²⁷ He placed all these things in the hands of Aaron and his sons. Moses presented all these things to the LORD as an offering.

²⁹ Moses also took the breast from the ram of the ordination offering and presented it to the LORD. It was Moses' share, as the LORD commanded.

⁴⁹ "Do not register the tribe of Levi or include them in the census with the other Israelites. ⁵⁰ but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it. ⁵¹ When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death. ⁵² The children of Israel are to put up their tents, every man in his tent-circle round his flag. ⁵³ But the Levites must camp around the tabernacle of the testimony so that divine wrath won't fall on the congregation of Israel. The Levites must take care of the tabernacle of the testimony.

⁵ the LORD said to Moses: ⁶ Bring the tribe of Levi near and present them to Aaron the priest that they may serve him. ⁷ They shall observe his duties and the duties of the entire community before the tent of assembly, to do the work of the tabernacle. ⁸ They are to take care of the utensils at the tent of meeting and the needs of the Israelites by performing the duties of the tabernacle. ⁹ "Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons. The Levites will be the only Israelites given to them. ¹⁰ "Appoint Aaron and his sons to serve as priests. Anyone else who tries to do the priests' duties must be put to death." ¹¹ the LORD said to Moses: ¹² "I myself receive the Levites from the midst of the Israelites in the place of all the firstborn of the offspring of the womb from the Israelites. The Levites will be mine ¹³ because every firstborn is mine. The day I killed every firstborn male in Egypt, I set apart as holy every firstborn in Israel, whether human or animal. They will be mine. I am the LORD." ¹⁴ the LORD said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai: ¹⁵ "Count the Levites by households and families. Count every male who is at least one month old." ¹⁶ Moses counted them according to Yahweh’s word, as he was commanded. ¹⁷ And these are the names of the children of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. ¹⁸ These were the names of the sons of Gershon by their families:Libni and Shimei; ¹⁹ The sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. ²⁰ And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the Levite families according to their fathers' houses. ²¹ To Gershon belonged the clan of the Libnites and the clan of the Shimeites; these are the clans of the Gershonites. ²² The number of all the males a month old and above were 7,500. ²³ The Gershonite families encamped behind the tabernacle westward. ²⁴ and the leader of the family of the Gershonites is Eliasaph son of Lael. ²⁵ And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting was: the tabernacle and the tent, its covering, and the curtain of the entrance to the tent of meeting. ²⁶ the hangings at the courtyard, the curtain to the entrance of the courtyard, which surrounded the tabernacle, the altar and their ropes for all their services. ²⁷ To Kohath are the families of Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. These are the families of Kohath. ²⁸ The number of all the males from a month old and above were 8,600. They were tasked to care of the sanctuary. ²⁹ The families of the sons of Kohath shall camp on the south side of the tabernacle. ³⁰ The leader of the Kohathite families and households was Elizaphan, son of Uzziel. ³¹ Their responsibility was the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altar, and the vessels of the sanctuary, with which they ministered, and the curtain, and all of its use. ³² The chief of all the leaders of the Levites was Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest. He was assigned overseer over those who take care of the services of the sanctuary. ³³ To Merari belonged the clan of Mahlites and the clan of the Mushites: these are the clans of Merari. ³⁴ The number of all the males a month old and above were 6, 200. ³⁵ The prince of the fathers' house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They shall camp on the north side of the tabernacle. ³⁶ It was the duty of the Merarites to be in charge of the framework of the inner tent, the crossbars, posts, sockets, and all the equipment. They took care of these things. ³⁷ They were responsible for the posts for the surrounding courtyard, the bases, pegs, and ropes. ³⁸ Moses, Aaron, and his sons put up their tents on the east side in front of the tent of meeting. They were in charge of the holy place on behalf of the Israelites. Anyone else who tried to do the Levites' duties had to be put to death. ³⁹ All the numbering of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered by the word of the Lord, according to their families, every male from a month old and upwards, were twenty-two thousand. ⁴⁰ Then the LORD said to Moses: Number all the first-born males of Israel from a month old and above and list their names. ⁴¹ And separate the Levites for me I am the LORD instead of all the first-born sons of Israel and the livestock of the Levites in place of all the first born of the livestock of Israel. ⁴² So Moses mustered all the firstborn among the Israelites just as the LORD commanded him. ⁴³ All of the first-born male according to the list of their names from a month old and above were numbered at 22,273.

²⁰ and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh. They are holy for the priest, together with the breast that is waved and the thigh that is offered. After that the Nazirite may drink wine.

¹⁰ "You shall bring the bull in front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull.

²⁰ Thus he will do with the bullock, as he did with the bullock of the sin offering, so he will do with this. And the priest will make atonement for them and they will be forgiven.

³⁵ He shall remove all its fat, like the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of the LORD made by fire. The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.

⁷ And if he cannot afford a sheep, he shall bring for his sin which he has sinned, two turtle-doves or two young pigeons to the Lord; one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering.

⁹ He shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering. ¹⁰ Then he shall offer the other as an offering of homage in the usual manner. So shall the priest make atonement for him for the sin which he hath committed and it shall be forgiven him.

¹⁴ Moses brought the young bull for the sin offering. Aaron and his sons put their hands on its head.

¹⁸ He presented the ram of the burnt offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.

³⁴ What has been done today, so Yahweh has commanded to do, to make atonement for you.

⁷ Moses said to Aaron, "Draw near to the altar, and offer your sin offering, and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them; as the LORD commanded."

¹⁹ And the priest shall offer the sin-offering, and make atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterwards shall he slaughter the burnt-offering. ²⁰ And put it on the altar with the libations thereof: and the man shall be rightly cleansed.

²² and two turtledoves or two young doves that he can afford, and one shall be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering.

⁶ And Aaron shall offer the young bull for his own sin offering, and make atonement for himself and his household.

¹¹ Then Aaron shall bring forward the young bull for his own sin offering, to make atonement for himself and his household, and shall slay the young bull for his sin offering;

¹⁶ and he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting, that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleanness. ¹⁷ No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel. ¹⁸ "He shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull's blood, and some of the goat's blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar. ¹⁹ He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

²¹ and Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live he goat and confess over it all the iniquities of the sons of Israel and all their rebellions and all their sins, putting them thus upon the head of the he goat and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man prepared for this;

¹⁴ And he shall present his offering to the LORD, one yearling he-lamb without blemish for a burnt-offering, and one yearling ewe-lamb without blemish for a sin-offering, and one ram without blemish for a peace-offering;

¹⁶ The priest shall present them before the LORD, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering.

⁸ They take a young bull along with its meal offering of flour mixed with oil. Then you take a second young bull as sin offering.

²² In fact, under the law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of the blood there is no forgiveness.

⁴ because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. ⁵ Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; ⁶ with burnt offerings and sin offerings You were not pleased. ⁷ Then I said, ‘Here I am, it is written about Me in the scroll: I have come to do Your will, O God.’” ⁸ First He says, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire, nor were You pleased with them” (which are offered according to the Law), ⁹ Then He adds, “Here I am, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second. ¹⁰ And by that will, we have been sanctified through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

¹¹ "Aaron will present the Levites to the LORD as an offering from the Israelites. Then they will be ready to do the LORD’s work.

²¹ And the Levites purified themselves, and they washed their garments, and Aaron offered them as a wave offering before the LORD; and Aaron made atonement for them to purify them.

⁶ Behold, I myself have taken your brothers the Levites from among the children of Israel. They are a gift to you, dedicated to the LORD, to do the service of the Tent of Meeting.

¹ Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

¹⁶ to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an acceptable offering to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹² "I myself receive the Levites from the midst of the Israelites in the place of all the firstborn of the offspring of the womb from the Israelites. The Levites will be mine

² "Speak to the Israelites and say to them, 'When a man or a woman takes a special vow, a vow of a Nazirite, to keep separate for the LORD,

¹⁷ For all the first-born of the sons of Israel are Mine, both man and animal. On the day that I struck every first-born in the land of Egypt I set them apart for Myself.

⁹ Is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do the service of the LORD's tabernacle, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them; ¹⁰ "He brought you and all the other Levites near. But now you demand to be priests.

⁸ At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day.

¹⁷ "They'll be mine," says the LORD of the Heavenly Armies, "in the day when I prepare my treasured possession. I'll spare them, just as a man spares his own son who serves him.

¹ Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,

¹⁵ But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased

²⁶ We need such a high priest {— } one who is holy, innocent, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

²³ The Gershonite families encamped behind the tabernacle westward. ²⁴ and the leader of the family of the Gershonites is Eliasaph son of Lael. ²⁵ And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting was: the tabernacle and the tent, its covering, and the curtain of the entrance to the tent of meeting. ²⁶ the hangings at the courtyard, the curtain to the entrance of the courtyard, which surrounded the tabernacle, the altar and their ropes for all their services. ²⁷ To Kohath are the families of Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. These are the families of Kohath. ²⁸ The number of all the males from a month old and above were 8,600. They were tasked to care of the sanctuary. ²⁹ The families of the sons of Kohath shall camp on the south side of the tabernacle. ³⁰ The leader of the Kohathite families and households was Elizaphan, son of Uzziel. ³¹ Their responsibility was the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altar, and the vessels of the sanctuary, with which they ministered, and the curtain, and all of its use. ³² The chief of all the leaders of the Levites was Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest. He was assigned overseer over those who take care of the services of the sanctuary. ³³ To Merari belonged the clan of Mahlites and the clan of the Mushites: these are the clans of Merari. ³⁴ The number of all the males a month old and above were 6, 200. ³⁵ The prince of the fathers' house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They shall camp on the north side of the tabernacle. ³⁶ It was the duty of the Merarites to be in charge of the framework of the inner tent, the crossbars, posts, sockets, and all the equipment. They took care of these things. ³⁷ They were responsible for the posts for the surrounding courtyard, the bases, pegs, and ropes.

³ All those from thirty to fifty years old who are able to do the work of the Tent of meeting. ⁴ This is the work of the Kohathites at the tent of meeting, regarding the most sacred objects. ⁵ When the camp is about to travel, Aaron and his sons must come and take down the veil of the curtain and cover the ark of testimony with it. ⁶ They will put on it a cover of azure hide and spread over it a cloth wholly of blue from above and put its poles in place. ⁷ And over the table of the presence they will spread out a blue cloth and put on it the plates, dishes, and libation bowls, and the pitchers of the libation; and the bread of continuity will be on it. ⁸ And over them they are to put a red cloth, covering it with a leather cover, and putting its rods in their places. ⁹ They must take a blue cloth and cover the lamp stand for the light with its lamp, lamp-snuffers, censer, and all the utensils for its oil with which they minister. ¹⁰ They will put it and all its vessels inside a covering of fine leather and put it on the carrying frame. ¹¹ On the golden altar they shall spread a blue cloth, and cover it with a covering of sealskin, and shall put in its poles. ¹² “They shall take all the vessels of ministry with which they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a blue cloth, cover them with a covering of sealskin, and shall put them on the frame. ¹³ They shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth on it. ¹⁴ they will put on it all the vessels with which they serve, the fire pans, forks, shovels, and bowls—all the vessels of the altar. They will spread on it a covering of fine leather; and they will place its poles. ¹⁵ »When Aaron and his sons finished covering the holy things and the camp is ready to move, the Kohathites will come to carry all the holy articles. They must never touch the holy things, or they will die. The Kohathites will carry all the things from the tent of meeting. ¹⁶ "Eleazar, son of the priest Aaron, will be in charge of the oil for the lamps, the sweet-smelling incense, the daily grain offering, and the anointing oil. He is in charge of the whole tent and everything in it, the holy place and its contents." ¹⁷ And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, ¹⁸ Do not let the family of the Kohathites be cut off from among the Levites; ¹⁹ "This is what you must do so that they will not die when they come near the most holy things: Aaron and his sons will go into the holy place and tell each man what he will do and what he will carry. ²⁰ "However the Kohathites must not go in to look at the holy things, even for a moment, or they will die." ²¹ the LORD said to Moses: ²² "Take a census of the Gershonites. List them by households and families. ²³ All those from thirty to fifty years old who are able to do the work of the Tent of meeting. ²⁴ This is the service of the Gershonite families, to serve and to carry loads. ²⁵ they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the Tent of Meeting, its covering, the covering of sealskin that is on it, the screen for the door of the Tent of Meeting, ²⁶ the curtains for the courtyard around the tent and the altar, the screen for the entrance to the courtyard, the ropes, and all the equipment used to set up the curtains. The Gershonites will do everything that needs to be done with these things. ²⁷ "All their work, whatever they carry and all their duties, will be done under the direction of Aaron and his sons. You are in charge of telling them everything they are to carry. ²⁸ This is the work of the family of the Gershonites in the Tent of meeting, and they will be under the direction of Ithamar, the son of Aaron the priest. ²⁹ "Register the Merarites by families and households. ³⁰ Every one from thirty to fifty years old who is able to do the work of the Tent of meeting. ³¹ "These are their duties as they work at the tent of meeting: They will carry the framework for the inner tent, the crossbars, posts, and sockets, ³² the posts for the surrounding courtyard, the bases, pegs, and ropes. They must take care of all this equipment. Tell each man by name the things he will carry.

¹³ "Make the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons, and present them as an offering to the LORD.

¹ When David was old and full of years, he made his son Solomon king over Israel. ² He also gathered all the leaders of Israel, as well as the priests and Levites. ³ The Levites thirty years old or older were counted, and the total number of men was thirty-eight thousand. ⁴ David said: Of these, twenty-four thousand are to supervise the work of the LORD’s Temple and six thousand are to be officials and judges. ⁵ Four thousand are to be gatekeepers and four thousand are to praise the LORD with musical instruments I have provided for that purpose. ⁶ David divided the Levites into groups corresponding to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. ⁷ Belonging to the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei. ⁸ The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the first, Zetham and Joel, three in all. ⁹ The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, Haziel and Haran, three in all. These were the heads of the families of Ladan. ¹⁰ The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Ziza, Jeush and Beriah. These were the sons of Shimei, four in all. ¹¹ Jahath was the first and Ziza the second, but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons so they were counted as one family with one assignment. ¹² The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel, four in all. ¹³ The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart, he and his descendants from generation to generation, to consecrate the most holy things, to offer sacrifices before the LORD, to minister before him and to pronounce blessings in his name as long as they live. ¹⁴ The sons of Moses the man of God were counted as part of the tribe of Levi. ¹⁵ The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer. ¹⁶ The descendants of Gershom: Shubael was the first. ¹⁷ The descendants of Eliezer: Rehabiah was the first. Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very numerous. ¹⁸ The sons of Izhar: Shelomith was the first. ¹⁹ The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third and Jekameam the fourth. ²⁰ The sons of Uzziel: Micah the first and Isshiah the second. ²¹ The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish. ²² Eleazar died without having sons: he had only daughters. Their cousins, the sons of Kish, married them. ²³ The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder and Jerimoth, three in all. ²⁴ These were the descendants of Levi by their families, the heads of families as they were registered under their names and counted individually, that is, the workers twenty years old or more who served in the Temple of the LORD. ²⁵ For David had said: "Since the LORD, the God of Israel, has granted rest to his people and has come to dwell in Jerusalem from generation to generation, ²⁶ the Levites no longer need to carry the Tabernacle or any of the articles used in its service." ²⁷ According to the last instructions of David, the Levites were counted from those twenty years old or more. ²⁸ The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron's descendants in the service of the Temple of the LORD: to be in charge of the courtyards, the side rooms, the purification of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the House of God. ²⁹ They were in charge of the bread set out on the table, the flour for the grain offerings, the unleavened wafers, the baking and the mixing, and all measurements of quantity and size. ³⁰ They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD. They were to do the same in the evening ³¹ and whenever burnt offerings were presented to the LORD on Sabbaths and at New Moon festivals and at appointed feasts. They were to serve before the LORD regularly in the proper number and in the way prescribed for them. ³² So the Levites carried out their responsibilities for the Tent of Meeting, for the Holy Place and, under their brothers the descendants of Aaron, for the service of the Temple of the LORD.

¹ David and the commanders of the army set apart for the service some of the sons of Asaph and of Heman and of Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with lyres, harps and cymbals; and the number of those who performed their service was: ² of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah. The sons of Asaph were under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied at the order of the king. ³ Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising the LORD. ⁴ Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth: ⁵ All these were sons of Heman, the king's seer in the words of God. And to make great his power God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. ⁶ All these were under the direction of their father to sing in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, harps and lyres, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman under the direction of the king. ⁷ They and their relatives who had been skillfully trained in singing to the LORD, numbered 288. ⁸ And they cast lots, for duty, the small as well as the great, the teacher as the pupil. ⁹ Now the first lot came out for Asaph to Joseph, the second for Gedaliah, he with his relatives and sons were twelve. ¹⁰ the third to Zaccur, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹¹ the fourth to Izri, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹² the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹³ the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹⁴ the seventh to Jesharelah, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹⁵ the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹⁶ the ninth to Mattaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹⁷ the tenth to Shimei, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹⁸ the eleventh to Azarel, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ¹⁹ the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ²⁰ the thirteenth to Shubael, his sons and his brothers, twelve; ²¹ the fourteenth, to Mattithiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve; ²² the fifteenth Jerimoth. his sons and brethren, twelve; ²³ for the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ²⁴ for the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ²⁵ for the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons and his relatives, twelve; ²⁶ for the nineteenth to Mallothi, his sons and his relatives, twelve;

⁹ "Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons. The Levites will be the only Israelites given to them.

²⁹ And so at midnight the LORD struck down every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.

² "Consecrate to me every firstborn, the first offspring of every womb among the Israelites, among humans and among domestic animals; it belongs to me."

¹² you shall dedicate to the LORD everything that first opens the womb. All the firstborn males of your livestock belong to the LORD. ¹³ You shall redeem every firstborn donkey with a lamb, and if you don't redeem it, you shall break its neck. You shall redeem every firstborn among your sons. ¹⁴ And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, 'What is this?' Thou shalt say unto him, 'With a mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ¹⁵ And when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of humans to the firstborn of animals. Therefore, I sacrifice to the LORD every male that first opens the womb, but I redeem every firstborn of my sons.'

⁴⁴ I'll consecrate the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and I'll consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve as my priests.

¹⁴ "'If any man dedicate his house, it shall be holy unto the LORD. And the priest shall set it; whether it be good or bad, and as the priest hath set it, so it shall be. ¹⁵ and if he who dedicated it chuse to redeem it, he shall add thereto a fifth of the money at which it was rated, and it shall be his.

²⁶ However, the first-born of an animal, which should be the LORD's first-born, no man shall sanctify it, whether an ox, or sheep, it is the LORD's.

¹³ because every firstborn is mine. The day I killed every firstborn male in Egypt, I set apart as holy every firstborn in Israel, whether human or animal. They will be mine. I am the LORD."

⁵¹ And he struck all the first-born in Egypt, the firstfruits of strength in the tents of Ham;

³⁶ He struck also all the firstborn in their land, the first fruits of all their manhood.

⁸ He struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animal.

¹² '""I also gave them certain days to worship me as a sign between us so that they would know that I, the LORD, made them holy.

²³ (as it is written in the Law of the Lord: “Every firstborn male shall be consecrated to the Lord”),

³⁶ then what about the One whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world? How then can you accuse Me of blasphemy for stating that I am the Son of God?

¹⁹ For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the truth.

²⁹ How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

²⁸ By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch Israel’s own firstborn.

¹⁸ He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.

⁵³ But the Levites must camp around the tabernacle of the testimony so that divine wrath won't fall on the congregation of Israel. The Levites must take care of the tabernacle of the testimony.

⁶ Bring the tribe of Levi near and present them to Aaron the priest that they may serve him. ⁷ They shall observe his duties and the duties of the entire community before the tent of assembly, to do the work of the tabernacle. ⁸ They are to take care of the utensils at the tent of meeting and the needs of the Israelites by performing the duties of the tabernacle. ⁹ "Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons. The Levites will be the only Israelites given to them.

⁴⁶ Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, put fire from the altar in it, lay incense on it, carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from the LORD! The plague has begun.”

² "Bring the other Levites from your ancestor’s tribe to join you and help you and your sons serve in front of the tent of the words of my promise. ³ They will keep your responsibility and the responsibility of all the tent, only they may not come near the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, so both you and they will not die. ⁴ They shall be joined to you and keep the responsibility of the Tent of Meeting, for all the service of the Tent. A stranger shall not come near to you. ⁵ You are to be responsible for the holy place and the altar, so that wrath may never again come on the children of Israel. ⁶ Behold, I myself have taken your brothers the Levites from among the children of Israel. They are a gift to you, dedicated to the LORD, to do the service of the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁹ He struck seventy men among the men of Beth Shemesh because they looked into the ark of the LORD. So the people mourned because the LORD had struck a great blow among the people.

¹⁶ But when he became strong his heart was lifted up to [his] downfall; and he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense. ¹⁷ But Azariah the priest went in after him with four score priests of the LORD that were bold men. ¹⁸ And they stood against King Uzziah and said to him, "It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but it is for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have acted unfaithfully. There will be no honor for you from the LORD God." ¹⁹ Then Uzziah was angry. He had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in the LORD's house, beside the altar of incense. ²⁰ And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.

¹¹ And they were serving in my holy place, reviewing at the gates of the house, and serving the house: they shall slaughter the burnt-offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to serve them. ¹² Because they served them before their idols and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore I have lifted up my hand regarding them, said the Lord GOD, that they shall bear their iniquity. ¹³ And they shall not come near unto me, to serve me as priests, nor to come near to any of my holy things, to my most holy things: but they shall bear their shame and their abominations which they have committed. ¹⁴ But I will make them to keep charge of the house, for all its service, and for all that shall be done in it.

⁷ You shall do this to them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them, let them shave their whole bodies with a razor, let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.

¹¹ "Aaron will present the Levites to the LORD as an offering from the Israelites. Then they will be ready to do the LORD’s work. ¹² And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks, and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, to LORD, to make atonement for the Levites. ¹³ "Make the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons, and present them as an offering to the LORD.

¹⁵ "Once you have made them clean and presented them as an offering, the Levites may come and do their work at the tent of meeting.

¹² He shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean; but if he doesn’t purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.

¹⁹ The clean person will spatter the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day he will purify him, and he will wash his garments; he will bathe in the waters, and in the evening he will be clean.

¹⁵ And they slaughtered the Passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the second month. And the priests and the Levites were disgraced, so they consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings into the house of the LORD. ¹⁶ And they stood in their place in their manner, according to the Law of Moses the man of God. The priests sprinkled the blood from the hand of the Levites. ¹⁷ Many people in the assembly had not made themselves holy. So the Levites had to kill the Passover lambs for all who were not clean and could not make their lambs holy for the LORD.

²⁷ And the priests and the Levites arose and blessed the people, and their voice was heard, and their prayer went up unto his holy dwelling place heaven.

² Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites after their divisions, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the LORD's camp.

⁸ And his officials contributed a freewill offering to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, commanders of the house of God, gave to the priests two thousand six hundred Passover lambs and three hundred bulls. ⁹ And Conaniah with Shemaiah and Nethanel his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, lords of the Levites, gave unto the Levites five thousand Passover offerings, and five hundred oxen. ¹⁰ So everything was made ready and the priests took their places with the Levites in their divisions, as the king had said. ¹¹ They slaughtered the Passover lambs. The priests sprinkled the blood with their hands while the Levites skinned the lambs. ¹² And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer to the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen. ¹³ They roasted the Passover in fire, as required by the ordinances, and boiled the holy things in pots, kettles, and pans, and delivered them quickly to all the people. ¹⁴ And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests, because the priests the sons of Aaron were offering up the burnt offerings and the fat until nightfall. And the Levites prepared for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron. ¹⁵ The singers, as descendants of Asaph, remained at their stations as David, Asaph, Heman, and the king's seer Juduthun required, and the gatekeepers did not have to leave their posts because their Levite relatives prepared the Passover for them.

³ The Levites thirty years old or older were counted, and the total number of men was thirty-eight thousand.

²⁴ These were the descendants of Levi by their families, the heads of families as they were registered under their names and counted individually, that is, the workers twenty years old or more who served in the Temple of the LORD. ²⁵ For David had said: "Since the LORD, the God of Israel, has granted rest to his people and has come to dwell in Jerusalem from generation to generation, ²⁶ the Levites no longer need to carry the Tabernacle or any of the articles used in its service." ²⁷ According to the last instructions of David, the Levites were counted from those twenty years old or more.

¹² and the pattern of all that he had in mind for the courts of the house of the LORD, and for all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of God's house, and for the treasuries of the dedicated things; ¹³ also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD;

⁷ Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not drink of its milk?

⁴ The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

¹⁸ Timothy, my child, I am instructing you in keeping with the prophecies made earlier about you, so that by following them you may continue to fight the good fight

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

³ Endure hardship with me as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No one serving in the military gets mixed up in civilian matters, for his aim is to please his commanding officer. ⁵ And if a person competes as an athlete, he is not awarded the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules.

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

³² The chief of all the leaders of the Levites was Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest. He was assigned overseer over those who take care of the services of the sanctuary.

⁴ They shall be joined to you and keep the responsibility of the Tent of Meeting, for all the service of the Tent. A stranger shall not come near to you.

³⁰ "From the sons of Israel’s half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys and of the sheep, from all the animals, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD."

³² So the Levites carried out their responsibilities for the Tent of Meeting, for the Holy Place and, under their brothers the descendants of Aaron, for the service of the Temple of the LORD.

²⁰ Their fellow Levites were in charge of the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries for the dedicated things. ²¹ The descendants of Ladan, who were Gershonites through Ladan and who were heads of families belonging to Ladan the Gershonite, were Jehieli, ²² the sons of Jehieli, Zetham and his brother Joel. They were in charge of the treasuries of the temple of the LORD. ²³ From the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites and the Uzzielites: ²⁴ Shubael, a descendant of Gershom son of Moses, was the officer in charge of the treasuries. ²⁵ His relatives through Eliezer: Rehabiah his son, Jeshaiah his son, Joram his son, Zicri his son and Shelomith his son. ²⁶ Shelomith and his relatives were in charge of all the treasuries for the things dedicated by King David, by the heads of families who were the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and by the other army commanders. ²⁷ Some of the plunder taken in battle they dedicated for the repair of the Temple of the LORD. ²⁸ And everything dedicated by Samuel the seer and by Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiah, and all the other dedicated things were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives. ²⁹ From the Izharites: Kenaniah and his sons were assigned duties away from the temple, as officials and judges over Israel.

⁸ »‘You did not take care of my holy things. You put foreigners in charge of my Temple!«’

¹¹ And they were serving in my holy place, reviewing at the gates of the house, and serving the house: they shall slaughter the burnt-offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to serve them.

¹⁵ Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that all may see your progress.
