⁵ Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

¹ In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. ² Now the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

⁶ Then God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters, separating water from water!"

⁶ By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, and all the hosts of them by the breath of his mouth. ⁷ He gathered the waters of the ocean into a heap; he put the deeps into storehouses. ⁸ Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world stand in awe of Him. ⁹ For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.

⁵ The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

¹¹ Tell this to them: "The gods who didn't make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from these heavens." ¹² He who made the earth by his power, and established the world by his wisdom; also stretched out the heavens by his understanding. ¹³ He speaks, and the water in the sky produces a storm. He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning flash with the rain. He brings wind out of his storehouses.

⁶ He who builds his chambers in the heavens and has founded his vault upon the earth, he who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the face of the earth, the LORD is his name.

¹¹ You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for you have created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.
